Don’t write off Sheffield Wednesday in the championship play off against Brighton. Wednesday are a better team than seems to be the general opinion but have had poor results against the bottom teams which I put down to under estimation of the competiveness of the league by a first season foreign manager and squad rotation. Better away results against the likes of Bristol, Mk Dons, Bolton, Charlton etc. and slipups at home against MK Dons and Rotherham cost them dear bearing in mind none of the playoff teams have beaten them this season ( all six fixtures were draws ). Add to that while Wednesday’s first team were resting, Brighton and Middlesbrough were kicking lumps out of each other last Saturday, the disappointment of failing to get automatic promotion and the first leg is at Hillsborough with a full house. Team wise all four are petty evenly matched so the little things could sway it and the Wembley final, as ever, could be any ones so why not Wednesday?

Morning Waddo mate, they have it in them as they put three past Malmo on the opening day but since then it’s been a bit flat. I have a feeling Helsingborg could nick this coming off the back of their win against Malmo. If I was to pick something from Jonkopings markets I’d take Cibicki ATGS 7/4 or Smylie ATGS 9/4, both are on three goals apiece but Smylie is more dangerous as he floats about in the holes and makes dangerous runs.

Not a lot jumps out today in terms of teams to back so lower confidence treble this one. The final round of Croatian matches are played tomorrow with the exception of Zapresic v Osijek kicking off today. Everything is settled in this league so results may be more unpredictable than normal but I am backing the home side here to finish with 3 wins in a row at home as they have been strong at home in 2016 and hosting a side who have lost 11 of their 17 away matches. The Austrian Erste Liga is better avoided when looking for teams to back as the sides are pretty well matched. FAC had an awful home record of just 3 points from a possible 45 until they hosted Austria Salzburg and doubled their tally with a 2:1 win. Austria Salzburg mathematically can still avoid relegation but so will fight but are poor on the road so I think Innsbruck have a chance. Only 3 teams in Ligue 2 have collected more points at home than Le Harve but if they win tonight then they will finish with the second best home record in the league just short of the champions Nancy which is testament to how strong they are there. They should win tonight as they also face one of the poorest away sides.

I’ve had a cheeky £10 treble on the Sheff Wed game tonight, 0-0 draw @ 11/2 – ( both matches between the two have been 0-0’s ) and I see those teams as very evenly matched, so both teams are going to be toe to toe. That should open up the corners, I’ve gone for over 12 @ 2/1 and to top the treble off, an overs 3.5 cards @ 4/6. The evenly matched nature ( and how important the game is ) could see a tempestuous affair. 2 matches back, Brighton V Derby had a bucket load of cards including Dunk getting a 2nd yellow ( his 2nd red of the season – hence a 2 match ban – so his 2nd match absence for Brighton is this match ), also the Derby/Sheff Wed match was full of cards. Oddschecker app still doing my nut in can’t change the market on any match meaning for example I can’t place our usual over 2.5 in France tonight. Disappointsd they’ve failed me yet again after missing so many chances again! Been a poor night for my two bets! Le Harve won 5-0 and missed out on promotion by 1 goal!
