BETTING challenges have proved popular on the site in recent weeks with many people putting up winners.

There were a couple of comments about people missing bets or struggling to follow them so here's thread totally dedicated to challenges and if it's used we'll keep putting it up. If it's not on every day just use the latest one.

On the members' forum there is a section for betting challenges but if people prefer to do them on the site then so be it.

I picked 3 Irish matches last night to deliver + Basel (Derry, Dundalk and Shamrock rovers ). They all delivered the 1 goal I needed. It gave me a full house of 6 picks for the day having had 2 games earlier do the biz for me.

I’ve just passed my first Cr*pout point of £80 ( I’m up to £88 ) – for those who don’t know what a Cr*pout point is, its a psychological barrier, in this instance a monetary milestone where people consistently hit the wall. So far, I have 3 of them. £80, around £1200 and the £3500-£4100 point. These are the stages of the challenge where for me, I absolutely HAVE to be on the ball.

My advise to anyone having a crack at any bank building challenge would be, do your background checks/stat trawl with more emphasis on current form rather than historical head to heads. Trust the system you’re using ( unless you have eyes on the live action and you’ve gauged that neither side are really creating any chances ) – that’s when your judgement needs to be spot on as to whether to take a small hit and cashout – or ride it out and hope the goal gods deliver. Also, the more bets you place daily, the more chance you have of it going pear shaped. Also, create your own C*&t list – the teams that let you down, other members have their own lists so liase with them and listen to their input.
Finally, pay yourself at regular milestones. The idea is to recoup your starting stake in a few days so that you are essentially playing with the bookies money. Each milestone you pass, pay yourself. Even if its a fiver a day. It will put you in the black AND if you’re prepared to grind out those odds and sods slowly, it will limit how much you spend daily/weekly.

For more info and tips – that CAN be implemented into your own challenge, there’s lots of info in the various parts of the ” bank building from £10 till you run out of luck or courage ” in the betting challenges forum.

    Best of luck folks.

My first attempt at this went belly up today! I had got the bank to £500 from £20 and lost on the jump to £580.

I learnt a few things along the way, namely the dont overstretch looking for better odds, also if you place the bets on an exchange as opposed to a bookies the odds are always slightly higher so a 1.080 odds bet at the bookie will already be 1.1 at the exchange.

I cashed out the loser today for £50 in the 89th minute so effectively I am £30 better off and have re-started the challenge with this £30 but this time at the betfair exchange.

  16. michaelc 2 years ago

I was just looking at the same game hudson! Looking at doing over 1.5 now for my next bet, but worried at the lack of quality…… No shots on target in the last 10 mins despite the red card……

  17. hudson 2 years ago

Desperate to complete a challenge hopefully while it will still mean I am in profit ??? start attempt 4 tonight or tomorrow

  18. stagger 2 years ago

    £5 – £250 IN SIX BETS – ATTEMPT 2

Attempt 1 on Tuesday crashed at the first turn with FC Thun holding firm favourites Basel to a draw and a goal failing to be scored in both halves in the Dundalk/Bray fixture (finished 1-0)
Women’s FA Cup Final tomorrow (13 times winners Arsenal v current holders and last season’s league champions Chelsea 2pm)
The Blues’ victory over Notts County in the first Women’s Final to be held at Wembley last year will stand them in good stead and they’ll be eager to repeat the feat against an Arsenal side to whom they have lost just once in the last seven meetings, winning five. CFC has won all four of its league games so far this season and sit in second place behind Man City but with a game in hand. Arsenal are perched in third, winning just two of five so far.
No major injury worries for either side except possibly Jordan Nobbs for Arsenal, and there will be some outstanding talent on show, that’s for sure. I mean, take a look at these names, just a few who should start/come on : AFC, Alex Scott, Casey Stoney, Asisat Oshoala, Fara Williams…CFC : Claire Rafferty, Katie Chapman, Karen Carney, Fran Kirby, Eniola Aluko…how many of those do you remember from the Women’s World Cup last year?

It should be a fantastic game, and as a bonus it’s live on normal TV too.

I’ll start the first segment of the Challenge by backing Chelsea Ladies to win in 90 minutes.
Chelsea Ladies to win 10/11 (Coral) £5 pays £9.54

  19. stubhoy 2 years ago

I had to put up tips this morning then rush off to the football.

  22. hudson 2 years ago

Time to try again – £20 into this challenge lark so far ?

    £5 – £50 bet 1 (Attempt 4)

    Over 3.5 first half Asian corners £5 @ 1.9 bet 365

  23. hudson 2 years ago

Been thinking – doing a challenge is like winning an accumulator – if you have to win 6 bets in a row to win the challenge, then it’s like getting a 6 fold accumulator up and we all know how hard that is. Nevertheless I want to win at least one so will go again when I see something I like ?

    • stagger 2 years ago

Yes, I agree, when you put it like that, hudson. I wouldn’t dream of doing a sixfold accy yet here I am doing effectively just that!!!

    • stagger 2 years ago

*except maybe an over 1.5 match goals across the card in Erste Divisie or something. Like today, I did it for the PL and it came in (on the Top Tips thread) but somehow the over 1.5s don’t feel like a proper accy, more just a well-it’s-gotta-come-in-sometime sort of punt.

    that didnt go well.

  30. stagger 2 years ago

Third and final time of asking, it’s the £5 – £250 In Six Bets Challenge

The most recent home fixture for Graafschap saw them deny Ajax the title with a 1-1 draw. They saw off MVV in the first leg of the relegation play-offs and I’m taking them to finish the job comfortably.
Same sort of set-up applies to Willem II who beat Almere away in the first leg and should have enough at home to put the wannabe topflighters in their place.

    Win Double
    de Graafschap (11.30am)
    Willem II (3.45pm)
    (£5 returns £11.05 @ Coral)

  31. archie 2 years ago
