THERE'S a collection of dead rubber and glorified training exercises this week, but sometimes they can be profitable and HIBS can end a miserable season with some consolation with a win against St Johnstone.

Hibs and Aberdeen have been undoubtedly the biggest pair of underachieving wasters in the Premiership this season, especially given the budgets they had to work with.

The managerless Leith club owe it to their fans to at least sign off a season to forget with some positivity and they can collect at 10/11 against a Saints side with far bigger fish to fry next week.

St Johnstone's win against Aberdeen in midweek sealed Dundee's fate and they now have a two-legged play-off game against either Arbroath or Caley Thistle.

That means you can expect Callum Davidson's side to be significantly weakened when they travel to the capital to face Hibs.
Hibs were defeated by Dundee in midweek, but they were actually dominating when they lost a second goal against the run of play.

And they can defeat a Saints side who will be keeping themselves for next week.

COWDENBEATH'S 117-year stay in the Scottish Leagues looks about to end on Saturday, but they can at least go down fighting by beating Bonnyrigg Rose in 90 minutes at Central Park.

The Blue Brazil trail 3-0 from the first leg at New Dundas Park, but they were seriously aggrieved at the sending off of Harry Swann when the game was goalless and a soft penalty awarded against them.

Maurice Ross' side had been in good form going into the play-offs and will need to throw everything at them to at least try and reduce the deficit.

The Lowland League champions were defeated by Highland League champions Fraserburgh after taking a first leg lead north and they will just want to avoid losing by three goals to win promotion to League Two.

Cowdenbeath will probably be relegated, but they can win at 13/8.

RANGERS face their final game before the Europa League Final and they can win the battle of the shadow squads at Tynecastle in a Scottish Cup dress rehearsal against Hearts.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been rotating his squad, but has used his key players wisely by giving them just enough game time to keep them ticking over.

And at 6/5, they could be too strong against a Hearts team which will also be severely weakened with one eye on Hampden next week too.

Scottish Tips

  • Hibs 10/11
  • Cowdenbeath 13/8
  • Rangers 6/5
