MY discipline is beginning to surprise me. There were a few bets I liked on Monday but on the site only one was advised and the double won at 13-10.

On the forum my Bet of the Day and Betting Club both won while Greg and Jordan also had successful nights.

So that's a little money in the bank for what could be a tricky Tuesday. There are two Champions League return legs – Real Madrid v Roma and Wolfsburg v Gent – and I'm on two homes even though both lead from the away fixtures. I've posted a separate Champions League preview.

There's almost a full Championship card and games in League One and Two and Hull and Arsenal meet in their FA Cup replay. Both sides will be weakened with line-ups similar to those in the 0-0 draw at the Emirates.

Arsenal will probably edge it in a low scorer and they are a best 4-5 at Paddy Power but I can see me leaving this one alone.

In Scotland Aberdeen try to pile the pressure on Celtic by winning at Partick Thistle and there also games in League One and Two – so it's a busy night but one that should be played carefully and focused on goals as midweek results can be pretty dodgy.

I've studied stats, form and team news all morning and it still looks a difficult card. For the Super Single I'm standing by Ipswich at Bolton. Neil Lennon's men are back at the bottom after a brief improvement and having lost their last three looked doomed.

Ipswich are just one point of the play-offs after back-to-back wins without conceding and if they have serious promotion ambitions this is a must-win game.

In the Championship I considered Cardiff at home to Leeds, Charlton at home to MK Dons and Preston at Nottm Forest but for the Top Treble I'm on Cardiff to score 2+ and leaders Burnley not to lose at Fulham.

Cardiff have netted 11 in their last four as they target the play-offs while Burnley should win at Fulham as they go for five in a row but I'm keeping the draw on side.

Complete the treble in Scotland with Dumbarton who beat Alloa 5-0 in the Scottish Cup when they last met. Alloa are 11 points adrift of Livingston at the foot and virtually down while Dumbarton are just one clear of second-bottom Livingston after losing to them at the weekend so it's a big game for them.

My only other bet on a night where I'd be happy to break even is a goals treble – starting with both to score at Wolfsburg v Gent which is explained on the Champions League preview.

Add over 2.5 goals at Dunfermline v Albion Rovers. Dunfermline have returned to the free-scoring side we loved at the start of the season with 19 goals in five games and could cover the overs on their own. However, they have conceded in four of their last six and Rovers held second-placed Peterhead to a 1-1 draw at the weekend.

I'm completing the treble with a stats-based pick. Huddersfield and Reading have met three times this season – two 2-2 draws and a 5-2 FA Cup replay win for Reading in January.

Huddersfield haven't scored in their last two so that's a concern but three of Reading's last four have gone over 3.5 goals including a 4-3 win at Charlton on their last road trip.

I put the lot on Besiktas -1 cause I was a daftie and lost earlier chasing relatively small stakes. Got away with it but couldn’t even watch the game I was so annoyed with myself for being a see you next Tuesday! Laying off it till Wednesday and just taking the bet365 £50 no risk in-play bet.

As already sated by Mr F its a difficult card tonight. Might surprise some but I’m taking a WDW tonight and fingers crossed it doesn’t backfire. Gent gave themselves a fighting chance of progression to the next round with two goals in the last 10 minute sin Belgium, but conceding three on their home turf doesn’t bode well for them in Germany. Wolfsburg have only lost three times in their last 15 home games. Two of those were against Bayern Munich, the other was Dortmund. Gent have lost four of their last five competitive fixtures away from home and despite giving themselves a lifeline, Wolfsburg will be tough to beat.

Torn here but hopefully I’ve made the right choice. Fulham games have been known to produce goals this season and while I believe Burnley will score, I think there is value on the Double Chance market. Fulham have only won two of their last ten at home, against Rotherham and Charlton who are both in relegation places. Burnley have lost three of their last fifteen on the road. An FA Cup tie at the Emirates, with the other two losses against second and third placed Middlesbrough and Hull. Burnley sit at the summit and every point will be vital at this stage of the season. They won fairly comfortably in a 3-0 win at Turf Moor in the reverse fixture so Sean Dyche will know how to have them set up for their trip to Craven Cottage.

Jordan, I don’t disagree with any of those and also like Ipswich at Bolton.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Good to hear Mr F! Haven’t looked at the Ipswich game in depth in all fairness but after a quick glance I’d be slightly worried by their recent three losses away from home. Maybe just a blip as they were in good spirits until their FA Cup loss at Portsmouth. Have sent you an email but there is no rush to me back to me. Cheers and goodnight.

Jordan, it’s Bolton though isn’t it.

Anyone else think Aberdeen look pretty good value at more than Evens?

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

ooseven, it’s not bad – just wonder what condition the pitch is in because it’s been terrible.

    • ooseven 8 years ago

Hmm haven’t seen Thistle at home in a while to be fair. Plus it looks like it’s to chuck it down tomorrow plus the chance of snow.

    • ooseven 8 years ago

Oh aye Mr F Meant to ask. You mentioned you bought the Racing & Football Outlook paper and recommended it. Does it have a fair bit of football stuff or is it more skewed towards the nags? Reason I ask is that I like a flutter on the football but don’t really bet on the horses and wondered if it was worth picking up anyway?

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

ooseven, it has a separate football pullout so you can throw away the racing part.
      It’s definitely worth a look.

    Hull v Arsenal
    Hull over 3.5 team corners
    ODDS>>.1.61
    Over 2.5 Cards
    ODDS>>.1.57
Hull defended for the game at Emirates but with Home advantage should push Arsenal tonight. Arsenal on a bad run at the moment with 2 defeats and a draw at Spurs in the North London derby. With them slacking in the league Wenger will look at the cup as potential silverware and should field a strong side.
The meeting at Emirates saw 5 cards with Arsenal picking up 3 as Hull frustrated them with there defensive set up. The line is over 2.5 for 1.57 and looks good value and has gone over in 4 out of 5 meetings between them. Arsenal hit 12 corners in the game at Emirates with Hull picking up a solitary corner. Hull have won the corner match in the last 12 at home in a row with a 6.24 average. Arsenal have slipped on corners recently hitting 3,3 and 2 in there last 3 games away. Hulls line is set at over 3.5 and screams value so I’m all over that as Arsenal have conceded 9,6,7,2,9 in there last 5 away.

  14. overtwo 8 years ago

    Treble for me tonight guy
Boro who need to win to keep pressure on at top of championship. They’ve a good record at rotherham winning on there in last 4 visits.
Cardiff at home to a stuttering leads side. Cardiff have picked up lately and can see a win tonight. Finally Huddersfield and reading btts. Reading another team going well and scoring goals however I do expect Huddersfield to grab one at home.
£50 treble returns £320. Good luck all.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

killmaddog48, I don’t really look at the tips just the stats.
With it being a weekly publication (deadline Monday) they don’t have much time after the weekend to do the tips and it’s never easy rushing it, especially when you are tipping weekend games before midweek ones have been played.
They have my sympathy there but the stats provided are excellent.

@kelly-d If you don’t mind answering, but how do you structure your betting on the daily basis — I see you double your stakes throughout the day — do you start out with a set amount, say 20€, and then just keep going as long as you can and then reset at the end of the day/next day? Does the starting amount vary depending on win/losses from the day before? Curious. Cheers

Wolfsburg vs Gent – over 4.0 goal line 3.800 (11/4) **NAP**

In the first leg at home Gent had the most ball possession and only two fewer goal attempts than Wolfsburg but they still managed to come off as 3-2 losers. They are not the best travelers as could be seen domestically where only three weeks ago they were crushed 5-2 by KV Oostende, but tonight they really have to go for it and take the game to Wolfsburg to have any chance of progresing. It’s likely Gent will set out to attack from the off (they need at least two goals as things stand) but this could potentially leave them vulnerable at the back and unprepared for rapid counter attacks, especially with it being away to a quality outfit such as Wolsburg. I think there will be at least four goals on the night but likely more as Gent have scored away in all of their CL fixtures in this campaign so there is the insurance of the stake back if it is four or the win for more.

    Hungary NB 1 5:00 pm

SC Vasas Budapest vs Debreceni SC – Debreceni SC over 1.5 TG’s 5/4 **NB**

Second placed Debreceni SC are the form team in the leaguge at the moment picking up eleven points from six games and scoring fifteen goals in the process. Less than a month ago they defeated today’s opponents SC Vasas Budapest 4-0 at home so I’d fancy them to score at least two away tonight to a team that hasn’t maintained any sort of form throughout the season.

Bully I fancied Genk to score myself but not many previews I’ve read are giving them much hope. Obviously they only know as much as the next bloke but still think Wolfsburg will edge it. Hopefully 4-1 or 5-0 though in your case :)

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Jordan, all Genk’s group games away brought up btts – I’ll think they score and lose.
Right, off to walk the dug and stick some daft shop bets on.

    • bullseye 8 years ago

My thoughts on it Jordan were that Gent have managed to score away in some difficult places especially Russia which is notoriously partisan but while they can attack like a CL team they certainly don’t defend like one so goals should be on the agenda. Good luck with your bets tonight mate.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Aye it was going to be BTTS at Wolfsburg doubled with Burnley to net for me but changed my mind. Cheers and yourself mate.

  21. Jordan 8 years ago

@mr-fixit you might know the answer to this. On the weekend I said we all missed a trick with Lukaku who scored in his 8th consecutive game against West Ham, the same with Ronaldo (even though I tipped him) who scored his 18th goal in 10 games against Celta. Does the RFO give info on goal streaks by players against certain teams? Or anywhere else for that matter, as Oddschecker have stopped showing Opta Stats on the listed games.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Jordan, they have a streaky strikers table but it’s not against certain opposition – it’s current streak.
Topped jointly by Todd (Annan), Marriott (Luton), Antonio (West Ham) and your man Lukaku.
I saw that Lukaku stat somewhere last week and it’s probably just a matter of trying to read as much as you can.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Aye that’s what I did with Ronaldo. Just thought it would be a good piece of info as you obviously gt quite a few players scoring regularly against certain teams. Rooney against Newcastle or Messi against everyone :D Wrap up warm its cold enough down here!

    Vasas Budapest v Debrecen

Debrecen are the inform team in this league winning 5 of their last 6 games taking on a Budapest side that are a bit hit and miss at the moment although they have improved their home form lately Debrecen should be too strong for them, the h2h stats show that Debrecen have won 16 of the last 17 meetings and so odds of 10/11 for an away win look real value to me.

Debrecen have been scoring for fun 18 goals in their last 6 games and have managed to put 3 past Budapest in 11 of the last 13 games they have played over 1.5 Debrecen team goals @ 5/4 looks another great bet and confidence in this is even higher seeing that @bullseye has tipped it up aswell

    Main Bet:
Real Madrid win and over 1.5 goals
Wolfsburg win and over 1.5 goals

Enhances the odds a bit more to the win only and is definitely worth the extra value for the risk in my opinion.

Another game I like the look of for value is the Brighton v Sheffield Wednesday game. Both teams doing well and within touching distance of the play offs.
With the last two games between the sides finishing 0-0. I wouldn’t be surprised on a similar result here. Can’t see it going over 2.5 goals and with under 2.5 it doesn’t represent the greatest value at 8/13.

Hull defend well at the Emirates to get a 0-0 draw but that has cost them points in chase for automatic promotion to the Championship as they’ve dropped 4pts at a precious time in league ,

Arsenal as well have dropped points in their quest for the Premiership title so both teams go into this match on poor form but I feel if Hull come out looking for a win they’ll be picked off by a quick Arsenal front men ,

They’ve meet 12 times with Hull winning in Premiership in 2008 but since then Arsenal have won the next ten games until that draw in FA Cup but I feel its back to Arsenal winning

I wouldn’t say DNB is extra security than the Double Chance but fair enough mate. You still need both to win, I only need Burnley to draw or win and still get the same odds if that happens whereas yours will be voided making odds worse.

    • goalwisher 8 years ago

Odds worse of course if they both don’t win – but bottom line but no loss if either draw. Not saying its a better bet just saying i prefer it. Purely because it allows the slip up if gent draw/win – 3 more units on for me anyhow. All the best tonight with your bets.

  34. nathanufton 8 years ago

    Qpr/Derby pre match thoughts.

The last time we faced them was the first time we’d played them since they grabbed an injury time winner at Wembley and we managed to chalk off a little payback with a narrow 1 nil win at Derby.

Form between the two sides is very similar, QPR have 2 wins 3 draws and 2 losses from 7, whilst Derby have won 3, drawn 2 and lost 2. Derby’s recent form seems to be back on the up, whilst QPR – there’s no distinct pattern to their form.
Qpr have put the weight of expectation too much on Charlie Austin and he’s been misfiring which has no doubt hit their win/loss ratio.
Derby have been as guilty relying on Chris Martin for the goals and after no goals in open play in 19 league matches, he’s managed to notch up 3 in his last 3 outings. Thankfully, we’ve had a few other players stepping up to the plate and notching a few to lighten the burden on him, but he is 4 or 5 goals down on where I’d like him to be at this stage of the season. He’s on 12.

I think the time now since losing that playoff final is long gone and will not give Derby the extra yard that the rematch earlier on in the season gave us. Derby are counting on winning their home matches and possibly getting something from one or two away matches to keep us in the playoff spots. This isn’t going to be an easy game and although I do not believe we’ll lose tonight, I’d be surprised ( and elated ) if we managed to sneak a tight win by 1 goal.

We’ve 13/10 with bet365 to win, but whilst I’m loathed to bet on a draw, I think this will be stalemate. I’ve noticed a +1 handicap with bet365 gives 3/10 which I’d be comfortable betting on.

What DOES stand out for me though is Derby have become very much a 2nd half side this season and they’re 4/5 with bet365 to net in the 2nd half. We’ve enough strength on the bench to force a last 20 minute goal and QPR will be wary of this.

The gaffer seems to be managing the squad quite well, he’s rested players when needed, used them as impact subs late on and seems to be nursing some of our big guns who’s fitness is just not quite there – Bryson and Thorne.
Bryson came on late against Huddersfield with Russell and it transformed the game.

I feel sorry for Nick Blackman who was a big money signing in January, he’s just not had the match time to make a difference, its not that he’s playing badly, its just that other attackers are keeping him in their shadows.

If this game doesn’t end in a draw ( 80% certain ), I feel Derby could nick it with a late goal. Hopefully 1 or 2 teams in the 4 slots above us will drop a few points to really tighten the top 6 up. We’re 5 points ahead of joint 6th and 7th and I’d of put my shirt on Sheff Wed to win on Saturday, it just goes to show that anybody can beat anybody in the championship.

Meant to add Wolfsburg Over 1.5 TMG

    • oozie 8 years ago

The Championship can be a mine field, so I’d be swaying towards either the Aberdeen or Wolfsburg bets.
Hopefully the others doing the challenge will add there thoughts.
Does the Either Half bet mean, if Fulham are beating Burnley 1-0 at half time, and it finishes 1-1, the bet wins with Burnley winning 1-0 in the second half ?

    • jacksonator 8 years ago

Think the Wolfsburg bet might be a good one. Can see goals in that game. Could go over 2.5 match goals

    Early Derby team news confirmed:

    Carson
    Christie/Keogh/Shackell/Olsen
    Hansen
    Butterfield/Bryson
    Russell/Martin/Ince

Its 2 changes from the starting line-up against Huddersfield and ironically the 2 changes of Hendrick out / Bryson in and Russell in / Blackman out are the two changes he made late on that completely changed that game.

Thorne hasn’t travelled with the squad but having the likes of Bent/Blackman/Hendrick/Johnson on the bench shows we have plenty in reserve. It has enough there to either shut up shop and see the game out if we’re winning mid-2nd half, and enough to pile on the pressure with a pair of impact subs. I was 80% certain this would be a draw an hour and 20% for a late Derby winner. Now I’m 65% on the draw/ 35% late winner.

Still the stand out bet for me is for a Derby goal in the 2nd half ( 4/5 with bet365 ), I’ve not pulled any stats up deliberately but have noted we do seem to be a 2nd half side with it often being stalemate at halftime.

    Best of luck folks.

  60. HullShaker 8 years ago

Quite a few games that look good for goals tonight in both the Northern Prem and National Leagues but one in particular catches the eye from the latter league…

    FYLDE VS. CORBY TOWN:

Fylde were flying these last few months but seem to hit a stumbling block with losses to lowly Lowestoft and mid-table outfit Alfreton in recent games.

A draw at a good 6th placed Nuneaton side restored faith and was followed by a 5-2 win most recently against a decent Boston team.

Corby sit rock bottom with a gd of -28 and have been trousered in 11 of their last 15 games. Their last 2 went 1-3 and 1-4…both against teams of Flyde’s standing.

There’s two bets I fancy here:

    Over 3.5 match goals…evens…NAP

    Over 2.5 2nd half goals…31/20…NB

    Good luck with all bets.

    “…it’s Bolton though isn’t it”

What with me being a Bolton lad en’all

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

mister catnip, that’s why we cover!

    • mister catnip 8 years ago

I was just teasing you Mr F about your racist comment!…Which reminds me, covering a bet I think takes more knowledge than the actual tip/bet in the first place. I need to learn more about covering and this site’s content from yourselves and other members helps. Keep up the good work all.

  85. Jordan 8 years ago

Cheers Inter. Main double a winner with Wolfsburg and Burnley both winning. 14/1 beaten by Draxler. 2.6 point profit and onto tomorrow.

    Well done all.

Wolfsburg vs Gent – over 4.0 goal line 3.800 (11/4) **NAP** LOST

    Hungary NB 1 5:00 pm

SC Vasas Budapest vs Debreceni SC – Debreceni SC over 1.5 TG’s 5/4 **NB** LOST

Harrow Borough vs Grays Athletic – over 2.5 MG’s
Brighton vs Sheffield Wednesday – over 1.5 MG’s

    6/5 LOST

Rotten day today, all bets down in flames. Wolfsburg seemed content to hold on to to their aggregate lead and weren’t comitting too many men forward until a moment of brilliance from Draxler ultimately decided the game. Brighton vs Sheff Wed finished 0-0 to kill my only other chance of a winner. Hopefully tomorrow is better, well done to all winners.

ffs ricardo 462 points proft that’s out of this world bud great stuff keep up the good work, seen you posted on worldwide any chance of posting it here also sir as I mentioned don’t often view other threads, thank muchly……… ;)

ps dons just 1pt behind again now, squeaky bum time for you and mr alves surely…………..

    • richard 8 years ago

Way I see it @craneguy is that if we lose the league we have to get rid of Deila so at least there would be a silver lining :)

Will post the draws on here from now on but I know what will happen – the next 5 will all be duff

  89. mahommie29 8 years ago

wow!!! Mr. F, Ipswich snatch the draw a few minutes after your advised cover bet on the draw at 5-1. Covering bets can be emphasized enough. Thankfully Mr. F, Jordan and most veteran tipsters preach it.

    • mahommie29 8 years ago

      can’t

  90. scott 8 years ago

What is it with Bet365 and their cash out? They were offering me 98% cash out on a 4-fold within my long shot permed acca with over 1 minute remaining so I decided to take it but they declined it only for Bolton to get the corner that then led to the penalty and doing me out of a 17/1 4-fold!! If they are not going to let you cash out then why give you the option to do so? So instead of a decent profitable night it’s now a losing night.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

scott, cash-out always suspends near the end – you need to be quicker.

    • scott 8 years ago

That’s the thing though Mr F, it wasn’t suspended, it was still showing as an active cash out

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

scott, in my experience cash-out can be refused or suspended at any point.
I don’t actually like cash out because I prefer to cover bets.
Also I wonder what we all did in the very recent past when there was no such thing as cash out.
If you think you’re been hard done to contact them and see what they say.

    • shmarvel 8 years ago

iv’e had big issues with their cash out system.. the other week when aguero scored against Dynamo, i went to cash out my acca as all my other picks bar 1 were showing positive sign of winning quite early on in their games, therefore i knew mathematically their system would chuck up a positive on my original stake… the clean sheet market Dynamo v Man City was suspended (although didn’t actually show as suspended on bet slip) for over an hour, therefore i wasnt given any cash out offer at all until that market was closed down. i found out that it had taken over an hour purely because i went on their chat and that’s the reason i was given as to why i wasnt being offered a cash out.. they gave me my losing £7 stake back..

i guess in your scenario, there will be a fair delay before what you see on 365‘s in-play info.. i have worked out there is a roughly 20-25 sec delay from 365 stream to what is shown live on virgin media, but there will probably be a further 20 possibly 30 secs delay from the stadium to what is shown on in-play, therefore 365 can do pretty much what they like knowing they have a slight time advantage over the “live in-play” stats that they show.. that’s my take on it anyway

  91. lossie jim 8 years ago

Mr Fixit the cash out would come in handy with Cheltenham just around the corner, but I was thinking of seeing how the first game went.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

lossie jim, for a free bet it’s a decent return.

  92. Jordan 8 years ago

@richard that profit isn’t from bets you’ve posted though is it? Still, hats off. Especially in those SA leagues.

    • richard 8 years ago

@jordan all posted in the worldwide football forum in it’s own thread so I could track the results

I’ve gone with the major consensus of the forum and cashed out, as the way my luck has been with the fitba in recent times, it would probably go horribly wrong!!

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

lossie jim, no matter what it’s a decent return for nothing.
Don’t have any regrets even if your other teams win.

  96. richard 8 years ago

Noticed a few comments about the returns so far on the draws lucky 15 series I’m running. I would like to point out I’ve only just started trying this so 5 bets is not enough to prove I can do this long term and I’m not claiming I’ll return 400 odd points every 5 bets but just sharing early results.

Few people also asked if I’ve been posting them and all previous bets are on their own thread in the worldwide football forum for those who want to check.
