IT'S now just a week to go till Wimbledon and both Andy Murray and Roger Federer head into the Grand Slam on the back of title triumphs.

Murray scooped his fourth Queen's Club crown and Federer his eighth Gerry Weber Open on Sunday and only Novak Djokovic – 7-5 favourite at Sportingbet – is ahead of them in the Wimbers betting.

Murray is 3-1 at Betway and world No.2 Federer is 13-2 at 888sport and Coral. Other notable names include Rafa Nadal (15-1, bwin), Stan Wawrinka (16-1, BetVictor) and Kei Nishikori (33-1, Paddy Power).

There's ATP action from Nottingham today featuring British players Kyle Edmund and James Wards while Heather Watson is on court at the WTA Eastbourne.

Other sporting highlights include speedway, rugby league from Down Under and Major League Baseball from across the pond. Good luck with your bets and post your tips and chat here.

    Boxing

    Rances Barthelemy vs Antonio DeMarco

    Boxing on a Sunday night?

    * Rances Barthelemy by Decision/ Technical Decision @ 5/6 (Half Stakes) **WON**

Just a half stakes bet on this for me, barthelemy has moved up in weight for this one ( hence half stakes) the fight is scheduled for 10 rounds , Barthelemys more aggressive than most Cuban fighters wich im slightly wary of but DeMarco is no mug and I’m expecting a majority points decision to go barthelemys way

    NBA bet

A looooonnnnggg way to go I know but I thought it would be worth a mention now as this price will shorten I can guarantee you that

    * New Orleans Pelicans to win NBA championship 2016 @ 40/1 EW 1/2

A young team who I expect to make some good trades this offseason and a team who already has the future best player in the world

An outsider bet of course but worth a mention that the Warriors were 25/1 at the start of last season and the Atlanta Hawks who got to the conference finals I know were at least 100/1

I think the Cavs will at least get to the final and probably go on to win it but not touching them yet until I know what players are staying or going

Off to bed after watching crazy finish at US Open. Dustin Johnson three-putts 18th from about 15 feet to hand Jordan Spieth a one-shot win despite a double bogey at 17. Course and greens were slammed by players but incredible drama. Can’t wait to se Spieth, McIlroy and co at St Andrews next month.

Amazing went to bed early AT MIDNIGHT with my man lOUIS out to 180/1 after going 3 over after 4 holes only to wake to see he lost by one shot finishing second, to bring home a 6/1 winner narrowly missing 30/1 bumper payday.
Again he shot the best round of the leaders by some way as expected but just 1 shot shy of a playoff.

3 over for the round after 4 holes that is
    2 over for the tournament

    • thereddevils2 9 years ago

Tennis. He played really well the first set against Raonic. Some great tennis. I hope he can keep up that form. Giraldo bet won so now only Ward to go!

  13. mulac 9 years ago

@tennis peeps, groth to beat the lowly ranked russian @evens?

  14. JamesB81 9 years ago

    Mulac,

The lowley ranked player (356) you refer to is Mischa Zverev.

He’s German and his ranking doesn’t represent the danger he takes onto the court, nor his past (has been as high as 45).

Only a couple of weeks ago he beat Seppi in an ATP tournament (grass) when Groth was playing on the ‘Challanger circuit’.

The week after, Seppi reached the final of the ATP Halle event.

Groth may well win but it’s no gimme but liable to be a serving war with a decent chance of a tiebreak.

  15. mlac 9 years ago

@james cheers, will be thinking about the cash out then.

  16. JamesB81 9 years ago

    Mulac,

    Your call.

Evens are still decent odds for Groth but all I was saying that the bookies have priced it that way for a reason.

  17. punterpounder 9 years ago

form > rankings unless your taking a player in the top 20 against a player whos lower than 40 that’s my rule

  18. JamesB81 9 years ago

    Groth v Zverev

    First set tiebreak, no surprise.

  19. punterpounder 9 years ago
