IT was a case of close but no cigar as my three Sunday Super Singles all lost to end a good recent run.
I'm still in profit for the month but was disappointed at two stats-based bets going down while Neymar netted in just five minutes but that wasn't good enough for first scorer.
The stats bets were England to win to nil and as I said yesterday it was a toss-up between that and England to win. Switzerland let me down in the other by somehow conceding to Lithuania.
And the Top Treble was downed by Colombia's shock defeat to Venezuela in the Copa America. I didn't have a great day but luckily Johnb and raaljaca were hitting winners elsewhere – as well as the corner boys – so it wasn't all doom and gloom.
Monday's Copa America action sees Ecuador face Bolivia followed by Chile v Mexico and in the women's World Cup it's Ivory Coast v Norway and Thailand v Germany.
Norway and Germany are set to rack up big wins and both are 1-100 to pick up three points. Finding value on the goals markets won't be easy as bookies are expecting routs and it might be an idea to watch how it pans out inplay.
You can have Norway women -3 and Germany -5 on a double that pays 1-1 at bet365 an that should come in.
I know there have been some shocks in South America but Chile were impressive in their opening win against Ecuador so you can add them to beat second-string Mexico for a Top treble that pays just under 2-1 at bet365.
I'm putting 5pts on that and 5pts on Chile -1 – I know there have been shocks in Copa America but hosts Chile have handled the heat so far and I don't see them letting me down.

I have watched both german games and obviously they demolished ivory coast but were very disappointing second half against Norway. I haven’t seen Thailand in action so don’t know how poor they are?
I would imagine Germany will want to put right the second half against Norway so I am tempted on the handicap minus 7 and also Germany to win to nil at 4-9

Over to Iceland tonight and 3 games to look at although only one really interests me:
8.15 – Fylkir v Stjarnan sees 6th v 7th and this looks a close one that doesn’t fit the criteria for an Iclandic goal love-in for me.
9.00 – Fjolnir v Leikner – again doesn’t fit the criteria and both sides not seeing a big enough number of goals to justify anything outright.
8.15 – KR Reykjavic v Akranes – this one looks better although doesn’t scream as many goals as recent games have.
The home side are in fine form (WWWW) as opposed to Akranes (DLLL)although as a note of caution Akranes have faired relatively well against the top 5 sides in recent games in terms of goals conceded.
Possible bets to consider then:
KR v Akranes – Over 3.5 goals at 6/5 and Over 4.5 goals at 11/4
KR v Akranes – KR -2 on the h/cap at 9/4
All 3 games to see over 2.5 goals treble pays a fraction under 3/1 and is well worth a shout at that price.

It’s my fault for betting on something I’m not knowledgeable about and I got greedy because I was originally just going to put 20 points on the aussies at 1.3. Extremely overpriced in my opinion. Kyrgystan conceded against Bangladesh in their opening game. Conceded 6 in two friendlies against China in December (2-0 and 4-0) and lost 7-1 against Kazakhstan in September in another friendly. Tim Cahill, Mile Jedinak and Wellington Phoenix’ top goalscorer Nathan Burns are all in the squad.

Terrible evening haha. But we keep plugging away. I tend to go for ten pound trebles around 5-7/1 then when I land one go for some double ups go get me to around 300 at which point I will withdraw. I notice a lot of people here using staking plans which I’m yet to have a dabble at. I prefer quick fast cash rather than steady profits, but of course heavy ‘losses’ can occur this way when a favourite doesn’t turn up
