JIMMY ANDERSON tore the Aussies to shreds on day one of the third Ashes Test and England are now hot favourites for a 2-1 series lead.
Bowling maestro Anderson's 6-47 helped England skittle out their visitors for just 136 runs and Alastair Cook's side – who resume today on 133-3 – have been cut to 2-7 at bet365 for victory.
The Baggy Greens are out to 9-2 at Boylesports with the draw 12-1 at BetVictor. Joe Root is on 30 not out and bet365 go 11-5 he reaches less than 50, 21-20 for 50 to 80 and over 80 pays 6-5.
At the Hamburg Open tennis second seed Tommy Robredo came a cropper against Benoit Paire and today top seed Rafa Nadal is among the players in action. The Spaniard faces world No.45 Jiri Vesely for the first time and is just 1-10 at Paddy Power against the 8-1 outsider (Totesport).
Jerry Janowicz won his only previous meeting with Pablo Cuevas – on the grass at Halle this summer – and will attract interest at 13-5 with BetVictor today against the Uruguayan (4-11, Boylesports).
There's also one-day county cricket and Major League Baseball on the agenda so post your tips here and good luck with your bets.
Damn on that Padres tip and me not getting on it…

Pakistan to beat sri lanka 1/1 – 5 points
1/1 seems good value to me as pakistan have just won the odi series against sri lanka. Game takes place in colombo (sri lanka) so the pitch will favour spinners and with the likes of yasir shah and afridi i can see pakistan winning this game.

Janowicz @ 12/5 to beat Cuevas temps, but it really depends on how switched on he is. Beat him 2-0 this year, but that was on grass so a little bit of an irrelevance really. Still, Janowicz does surprisingly like playing on clay, and moves well for a big man. Cuevas not been quite his convincing self on the dirt lately, though hes still racked up a good number of wins this year. This isn’t a tip so much, just alerting people to the possibility of an upset and pointing it out as one to keep an eye on.
Jack, Me neither mate. The odds didn’t get quite high enough and Dazzler picking the Mets made it too uncertain to lay money on. I needed to trust the system more – it even picked the Reds last night too (which I also ignored!)
AD what is your thoughts on Isner mate
2-0 Against stepanek is 10/11
Any feedback will help thanks
Problem with Isner is he’s not exactly the best returner, so you’re generally relying on him to win by tiebreaks. Bit risky

Jaseos I’ve got man flu so didn’t reply last night cuz I was in bed. You should definitely trust your system, as it’s thrown up some good winners. I don’t have a system or anything, just kind of pick what I feel.

Dazzler – No worries mate, get plenty of rest. Man Flu is by far the worst of all illnesses known to science!
I’m using the rest of this season to test that I’ve got rid of the small problems that I hope I’ve ironed out and like I said before, I’ll try to post them if I also like the pick.
So far so good with the testing, as it’s showing decent profit this past month or two and also, the odd “crazy” pick it churns out have a pretty good strike rate too, surprisingly.
Cheers Felix
that’s pretty much it Felix. It might be worth pointing to a few simple stats: Isner has won his last 8 matches here, lifting the trophy twice in the process. 4 of those 8 went to 3 sets (though the last 3 were all 2-0)
In his last 19 matches here, only 5 were 2-0 wins.
how relevant that is, i’ve no idea. But he’s as likely to drop a set as not against a good all rounder like Stepanek. Stepanek thumped Groth and so nearly beat Karlovic last week, so he should be ready for Isner’s serve (though will still do very well to break it!)
in conclusion, can easily see it going to three. But who knows!

Is anyone watching Rafa? looks like it was close just going by the stats.
Ad, only saw the last few games but Nadal looked nervy. Double faulted twice in one game trying to serve it out
Dazzler – I like the Cubs/Brewers Over 7 and if anyone is looking for a good % pick, the Pirates, IMHO, are almost certain to beat my Reds tonight but the odds are poor (around 1.66 or so)
Burnett on the mound for a very tidy Pirates team facing Holmberg (Reds Starter) who has been average in AAA all season long and whenever presented with an opportunity in the Big League, has been mediocre, at best!
Odds are too short for me though, strictly a pointer only
Jesus h, all Im waiting on is Sock for the 5 and 6 fold and a pretty little windfall, and he’s doing his level best to f it up. I only watched ten minutes- sock serving at 1-0 and double faulting twice to give the break back, then sock playing a rubbish breaker. Shades of the Harrison match- kudla doing nothing much but being handed the advantage. Snap out of it Jack
Tonight’s mlb
Brewers @ Cubs

Add
Pirates @ 1.68
Twins @ 1.8

AD he has been pathetic this game has had so many chances twice in the first set being 0-40 live up on a break then bottling it and judging by his body lanuage atm I think it’s game over,
Also when he was 30-40 serving in the second of the second set he says ‘ looks like il have to come back next year’ thats ridicolous from a professional sportsman
Don’t agree again, it’s not something I personally like or would do its not my personality. Some people lose their head and that’s that. It’s like Kyrgios…you might say it hinders but it helps too. it’s just temper. People were saying the same about may sportsman (Drogba for example once upon a time)
Shocking. Truly shocking. I only dipped in and out but he was acting out every time I watched. What did I do to deserve this?! Sock has just fallen well down in my estimates. Twice in a row I’ve been counting on someone to beat Kudla who should, and twice in a row they’ve beaten themselves. Sock especially by the sounds of it. Disgraceful.
It’s my own fault for not covering at 1-0 in first set. Kudla was 3/1.

MLB Bets For Tonight

Double @ 2.14/1 (£10) LOST
Seattle Mariners ML (Lost 8-2)
San Francisco Giants ML (Win 5-0)
5 Fold @ 20.54/1 (£5) LOST

Chicago White Sox ML (Win 9-2)
Miami Marlins ML (Lost 7-2)
NY Yankees ML (Lost 5-2)
Oakland Athletics +1.5 (Lost 10-7)
So I guess I have to back Cuevas to beat Rafa @ 5.5/1.
I’m not actually convinced Cuevas has the mental strength to close out a win over Rafa- he bottled it earlier this year – but given his ability on clay and Rafas very indifferent level right now, i wouldn’t forgive myself if I failed to take the opportunity to try and cash in at a big price, whether it ends up coming in or not!
Johnson is pulling a sock and cracking. Luckily I recognised the signs and capitalised!
