ON a quiet Monday I put up nothing but a both teams to score double and it fell at the first hurdle with Lillestrom failing to score at Valerenga.
Goals were pretty to scarce throughout on the league games I looked at but Tuesday promises better with the next round of the Champions League throwing up nine ties. There are also matches in Scandinavia and and the usual selection of friendlies including Dundee v Everton, Norwich v West Ham and Wolves v Aston Villa.
I've researched the Champions League ties and the teams I like best are Monaco at Young Boys, Shakhtar Donetsk at Fenerbahce and Milsami at home to Skenderbeu.
Monaco haven't started their season so that's one disadvantage for their trip to Switzerland but while they've lost players the French side have signed Adama Traore, Ivan Cavaleiro, Guido Carrillo and top striker Stephan El Shaaraway.
Young Boys have taken just two points from their first two league games but have the advantage of a plastic pitch. However, Monaco are decent on their travels and I'm backing them to win on a double with Milsami.
The Moldovan champs stunned Bulgarians home and away in the last round and will be confident of getting the better of a Skenderbeu outfit given a scare by Crusaders. The Albanians lost 3-2 away and had a man sent off after a comfortable home win. If they can lose at Crusaders they can certainly go down at Milsami.
I thought about Shahktar Donetsk as the Super Single at 2-1 away to Fenerbahce but have decided to go safer with Shakhtar draw no bet. The Turks have made massive changes to the side with big names Nani, Robin van Persie and Fernandao being signed so it looks like boss Vitor Periera is putting the emphasis on attack.
Shakhtar have started the season with the two wins and Alex Teixeira has already netted four goals. They've lost Douglas Costa, Fernando and Luiz Adriano but still have Fred, Bernard and Eduardo. Last season Shakhtar reached the last 16 without playing a home game in war-torn Ukraine so playing away in Turkey won't faze them.
I expect both teams to score as I do at Maccabi v Plzen and possibly Pananthinakos v Bruges. For the Top Treble take btts at Fenerbahce and Maccabi and add BATE not to lose at Videoton.
Videoton needed extra time to beat Welsh part-timers TNS in the last round and while BATE also struggled to see off Dundalk 2-1 on aggregate I'm siding with the Belarussians not to lose.
