FOUR British men are through to round two at Wimbledon for the first time in nine years but they're likely to be a young buck down today.

British No.6 Liam Broady hopes to follow up his epic win over Marinko Matosevic with another shock and is 11-1 at Boylesports to claim the scalp of 16th seed David Goffin while to win a set the home hopeful is 7-4 at Paddy Power.

Top-10 seeds Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori and Milos Raonic are all in action today and last year's runner-up Grigor Dimitrov battles American Steve Johnson with Paddy Power offering 5-6 on over 3.5 sets.

In the women's singles Serena Williams tops the bill and the likes of Victoria Azarenka, Ana Ivanovic and Victoria Azarenka all look for smooth progress.

There's an intriguing all-American clash with Sloane Stephens 1-4 at Ladbrokes against Lauren Davis (18-5, Ladbrokes). Davis leads the head-to-head 2-1 and all three meetings have gone to three sets so over two sets at 4-9 with Betfair should land.

Elsewhere today there's a Super League showdown between Wakefield and Hull and Australian Open snooker among the sporting highlights.

As usual let's hear your Wimbers and other sporting tips and good luck with your bets.

    T20 blast tonight

    Surrey 8/11 – 3pts

Had high hopes for surrey at the start of the tournement however they have not lived up to expectations. Form is important in this competition and they did get an important win on friday night so im hoping they can now continue their winning run.

A reason why they have not been as successful as i first thought is because their main man jason roy has been away with england. He is back now and top scored with 60 the other night. Fancy a point on him to top score again.

Good day for me on Tuesday as I landed a correct score double with Coric and Tsonga both winning 3-2

Was baghdatis moving freely in his last match? No injury worries? Put me off him last time. I know Nishikori could hardly move in his last couple of games, so not sure about him either.

    • Jack 9 years ago

He seemed alright to me Felix. Unsure as I didn’t watch Kei, but he always seems to make things difficult and me panic. Always (touchwood) gets the win but its never easy, always seems to be a 3-2 or a 2-1.

I am Getting behind Dustin ‘all or nothing’ Brown to topple Rafa in the second round. 8.5/1 and 25/1 for. 3-1 and 3-2 win. Rafa looked less than great for the bits I saw against Belluci, and Dustin has the game to punish him if he’s not at his best again. Rafa must be nervous about this having been short of confidence for a long time and having been done by Dustin on grass in their only meeting. IF Brown can play a high level while redlining his game he will have another good chance at toppling the two time champ. Clearly this is a low stake high reward kind of bet, but I’m quietly optimistic about its chances! Let’s go Dustin!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ad, I saw some of Rafa’s match and he looked a bit out of sorts. What price Brown just to win a set?

    • Jack 9 years ago

11/8 Mr F, and I will be all over that. As well as a smaller stake on him to win.

  22. Ad 9 years ago

Also think there’s a chance 5/1 shot Herbert runs tomic close. Big game against an unreliable, albeit very talented, grasscourter. Could be a long one

    Wakefield v hull super league

Both sides been on losing streak of late hull losing back to back v leeds and against catalans in last few games where Wakefield lost to everyone but have got better of late. They competed well with catalans for 70 mins but still lost by 20 pts in end. Wakefield brought in new coach and 4 new players and how they gel could be key. Strangely this is first game of 2 between these 2 over the next 5 days. Bizarre. Having looked at everything i think Wakefield whilst getting stronger aren’t quite there yet, despite improvement they have still lost their last 8 games by more than 8 pts

Tip hull -6 to win 10/11 at skybet

Onto scorer and despite lineham hogging headlines this year ahead of his move end of season is am taking the guy on opposite side to have a good game. Talonoa has 9 tries this season and should get on score sheet again tonight maybe more than once

    Tip Talanoa anytime scorer 10/11
Talanoa score 2 or more 4/1
    Talanoa first try 10/1

  47. Harry 9 years ago

Not a great day again for me but still grasping this tennis betting stuff. Not too many upsets this week so far which is annoying as I’ve been spending time looking into potential upsets and good value winners when I could have just picked all the short priced favourites and stuck them in an acca! My treble came in eventually and my acca was refunded as a free bet by coral which is what they do with a 5fold or more and 1 leg let’s you down. I’ve placed all 4 of my losing accas this week with coral and had 3 of them refunded so haven’t lost too much thankfully. Well done all winners today and well done Heather Watson (begrudgingly) although her weak serve will get destroyed by Serena next!

Top surrey batsmen – Roy 5/2 – 1pt **LOST** – Very unlucky as he hit 33 but was beaten by 1 run with sangakkara hitting 34.

Harry, it was just one of those days where the favourites came through. Cilic was mighty close to going out. Fine margins

  52. leecunliffe 9 years ago

Bad day on the rugby hull somehow threw away a 16 pts lead to beat my handicap bet and my try scorer went off injured after half hour. Not good and with my team wigan playing 2moro need to not let heart rule head……but wigan will win :-)

  53. DK 9 years ago

Krygios 7/4 on friday to beat raonic. Looks a great bet to me. 5points on

  54. Ad 9 years ago

Mr F- 11/8 was the best but down to 5/4 now. A good sign the price is dropping. I’m talking myself into the upset happening more and more. It has all the ingredients for another Rafa exit here. Brown is mercurial, and when he clicks he’s a whirlwind on grass. He will serve volley all day long and if he serves well I have no doubt he will be competitive. He also doesn’t lack at all for confidence and belief, and an inspired Brown will get the centre court crowd behind him no question. If he can get one of the first two sets, I really think Rafa will be on the brink.

  55. Harry 9 years ago

Serena -6.5 games on Friday v Watson. Anyone think this is too big a margin to cover? If serena attacks her weak serve it could be over quickly..

  56. WasClueless 9 years ago

Harry having watched both their games today think that looks a good shout. Serena is completely focussed on winning. She only lost 5 games to Babos who I thought had a powerful serve. Home crowd maybe a factor but with Serena’s focus and experience may be only a small factor!!

  57. craigyboy 9 years ago

Phil that’s quite a few tips. What’s your strongest ones?

  60. Jack 9 years ago

So the SS and part of the acca were voided by Nishikori withdrawing leaving us with a winner just under evens and the longshot loser.

As many of you will have seen tomorrow Im going with this.

SS: Dustin Brown to win a set @ 6/5

Longshot: Dustin Brown to win @ 6/1

Acca: Radwanska, Lisicki, Bacsinszky all to win, Karlovic to win a set @ evens

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Jack, I also like Brown to win a set – was talking about it earlier.

    • Jack 9 years ago

Its tough, he’s a strange player but can be very good on grass, in my opinion he was overpriced in his first game too but he’s very erratic hence why his ranking doesn’t match his skill. I fully expect him to win a set if he turns up and if we knew the real Brown would turn up, there’s no way he’d be 6/1.
