MY only tips on Wednesday were a both to score double that was beaten by Wales after Infonet v Hearts came in and a tennis double on the challenge thread that lost.

On Tuesday I posted Wales to qualify as a Super Single but without Aaron Ramsey the semi-final proved a game too much. However, Chris Coleman's side go home with their heads held high while Portugal still flatter to deceive.

The second semi-final between France and Germany on Thursday tonight is tough to call and I'll post a separate preview. I tipped France on the anteposts so have to go for them but whatever happens Portugal will love the fact they have an extra day to prepare.

There are loads of Europa League qualifiers and I've had a good look at the games. So many teams are short-priced and many of them have decent first-leg leads so I'm restricting myself to one treble that involves British teams.

Start with Aberdeen who like Hearts should be better prepared for their second-leg tie. They eventually got the better of Fola Esch with two injury-time goals last week and should increase their advantage in Luxembourg.

Add Cork at home to Linfield in the all-Irish battle. Cork won a tight game 1-0 away with Linfield keeper Roy Carroll playing a blinder. With home advantage Cork should at least double their lead.

Complete the treble with both to score at Cliftonville v Differdange. The Irish side did well to draw away to a Luxembourg outfit who have some good results in Europe in the past few seasons.

The visitors need to score to have a chance to go through so this could lead to chances at both ends.

I've tipped France to win tonight and for the Super Single I'm going France draw no bet at just under evens.

Harry i know your confident of a Germany win tonight, so am I, but missing Hummells, Khedeira and top scorer Gomez is quite a blow. Thomas Muller is away with the fairys and has shown nothing near his club form so far. As bad a France are defensively, I can still see them getting to ET if needs be.

  3. elvis parsley 8 years ago

Germany have bored the pants off me but haven’t yet conceded in open play and doubt if France have the stomach or the defensive stability to stop ze black and white machine.
    1 or 2-0 for germany.

France might have some consolation with a horse called Bastille day in the 7-10 at Epsom

    Morning gents,

Couple of games in the goal-friendly Phillipines this morning for any early birds.

Loloya (0645) and Cereres (0900) should crucify their respective opponents and double figures may be on the cards.

Couple of decent looking shouts in the Icelandic leagues tonight and will post later.

I’ve enjoyed watching France so far and their attacking prowess from midfield has been good despite concerns at the back already mentioned.

Germany, well…not too pretty on the eye and not at their best but you always get the impression that the engine may just be idling and they can kick in to gear at will.

This one looks set to go to the distance for me and not for the first time I’ll take:

    MOV…EXTRA TIME…7/1 (2 Points)

    MOV…PENALTIES…7/2 (2 points)

If it does go to et, then I have a nagging suspicion that ze Germans may sneak it in that period so i’ll chance a speculative point on:

    GERMANY TO WIN IN ET…16/1

    Good luck with all bets?

    Europa League treble:

Brondby vs Valur Reykjavik – over 4.5 first half Asian corners
FK Jelgava vs Breidablik – over 2.5 MG’s
Llandudno vs FK Goteberg – FK Goteberg win

    10/3 **NAP**

There were 6 first half corners in the first leg of Brondby’s 4-1 thumping of Valur Reykjavik

The first leg of Jelgava against Breidablik produced 5 goals where both teams enjoyed decent phases of play. 4 goals came in the first half alone.

Goteberg were way too strong for Llandudno in their first encounter destroying them 5-0. Another comprehensive victory should follow for the away team today.

    ===============================================

Germany vs France – team performances France 30 to 40 pts 11/2

Win the match = 25 pts

Draw the match = 10 pts

Each goal scored = 15 pts

Each corner gained and taken = 3 pts

    Keep a clean sheet = 10 pts

Score before the 20th minute = 10 pts extra (maximum 10 points per team)

Each yellow or red card received = 5 pts and 15 pts deducted respectively (maximum 20 points per player)

It’s a tough match to call but I’m of the thinking that France will either get defeated or taken into extra time so subsequently the team performance tally may not end up being as high as it usually is and could fall within the range of 30-40 pts. There is also the yellow card ammnesty factor where French players (as well as German) will start the game on a clean slate and will be more likely to commit a foul knowing that baring a red they will not be suspended for the final and this could see points deducted if France do score/win the match.

    Good luck all

    • markus 8 years ago

Quick question Bulls; what’s the difference between “over 4.5 half corners” and “over 4.5 Asian corners”?

    • markus 8 years ago

That was meant to read “over 4.5 corners” and “over 4.5 Asian corners”?

    • bullseye 8 years ago

They’re exactly the same in that 5 corners are needed but probably 70% of the time you’ll get slightly better odds with the Asian market Markus. So for example instead of getting 4/6 you’ll get 8/11 or instead of 4/5 it’ll be 5/6. As a rule I always take the Asian corners because either the odds will be the same or greater than the regular market,

    • markus 8 years ago

Thanks bulls – I’ve always wondered why they offer the Asian market on .5 as it’s the same as not offering the Asian variant. It’s interesting you say there are often slightly better odds. Why would that be? Bookies are usually not daft

    • bullseye 8 years ago

I really dont know why this is. When I worked at the Ladbrokes head office we were told in training that the way they bet on sports in Asia is slightly different to how we bet on sports in Europe with regards to the markets they use, but sometimes when the European and Asian market equate to the same thing the odds can be different. It’s quite weird when you consider at times the price on corners for example will be exactly the same whilst at others the Asian market will offer the betters odds. There’s no consistency but from the punter’s perspective it’s a no brainer to take the best investment for their money.

  13. leef 8 years ago

My first post yesterday was very disappointing but i’m really confident on my nap of the week tonight. I mentioned the Aberdeen game yesterday and i’m very positive on this bet tonight. 23 corners produced in the first match and even though it’s 3-1 Aberdeen and i expect a sharper performance from Aberdeen this week i’m still expecting corners from both teams. The away team got 6 corners themselves which is very good considering they were away in Europe and totally dominated. I’d love to bet over 3.5 or 4.5 goals in this match as i do see it being that type of match but ill stick to corners only.

Aberdeen match over 12 corners 21/10
small stake on Aberdeen match over 14 corners 11/2

For anyone wanting a small stake accumulator ive added a few games i think will also see plenty of corners

    Can’t look past the Germans.
Think back to two years ago.
The well fancied hosts v Germany.
I remember seeing Brazil well fancied back then and they got took to the cleaners. Game over by HT.
    Now onto today.
The well fancied hosts v Germany.
Sounds familiar. France will need to make their approach to be defensively sound before any belief in the form of attack otherwise Germany could grab a hat full.
I’m sure they’ll be keen to do what they did to Brazil on their own turf two years ago and with the people missing it for me puts added pressure on France.
Mr F I know football is all about opinions but I don’t share your opinion that France have been the best side at the tournament. I don’t think being the best side at a tournament wins you the tournament anymore either. Goes to show its the teams that are organised and have the mentality not to panic and take the chances at the important times that normally prevail. Italy, Germany, Wales and also Iceland have prevailed and excelled at this and to a certain extent possibly Portugal (how they have reached the final I’ll never know).
I’ve backed Germany and believe by overcoming Italy in the previous round will have that feeling of invincibility about them. France have had a very very very easy ride to the semi-final and with that stuttered against Romania Ireland and Switzerland, left it late against Albania and conceded two against Iceland when cruising. Massive test for France tonight and one I think will be a step too far. Germany all day for me!

Afternoon chaps, missed most of the day’s games unfortunately but had a chance to study for tonight’s Euro 2016 match. I see there’s been a few winners on here already today – thumbs up to you gents ?

    20:00PM – France v Germany

France – highest scoring team in Euro 2016 with 11 goals in their 5 matches so far, largely thanks to that 5-2 thumping of Iceland at the weekend. They’re hitting good form coming into this match with 7 goals in their last 2 matches…having not lost a game yet this tournament, they’ll fancy their chances against a German side without their top scorer Gomez as well as Khedira and Hummels. 3 of France’s 5 matches so far have had at least 3 goals involved and I do think they’ll score at least once tonight, possibly twice.

In my opinion though, what stands in France’s way is the excellent Manuel Neuer…the only keeper to have conceded a solitary goal in Euro 2016 making Germany the lowest conceding team in the tournament. They’re tough to break down but with the influential Hummels missing from the backline tonight, it’ll be tough to keep that record going. Germany have scored in 4 of their 5 matches in the tournament and France have conceded in 3 of their 5 – I can see both teams scoring here tonight and contrary to what the bookies think…I reckon we’ll see another more open game tonight than the trend of the tournament so far of tight, dull matches generally.

So, based on the above, tonight I’ll be on…

    Over 2.5 goals @ 11/8

    Good luck tonight gentlemen ?

    Germany v France

    Germany Over 54.5% Possession @ 4/5 (Unibet)

Going to the possession market again. Really think this game is a tough one to call and could go either way, but Germany tend to have more of the ball regardless of the opposition. France are likely to move the ball a bit quicker and turnover possession more often than Germany are. As such, I think the line set is pretty fair. As long as Khedira’s absence doesn’t effect Germany’s ability to break down French possession, then this has a very solid chance.

For what it’s worth, I’m also on Germany to qualify, but I’m not at all confident enough to ‘tip’ that.

    Good luck.

1 shot on target in 65 mins against a team from Luxembourg is inexcusable no matter what team they put out for one of the top teams in Scotland they should be doing better

  36. HullShaker 8 years ago

Glad some caught the Phillipines games…just the 20 goals in the two matches (9-0 and 11-0) ??

Put up my selections for the Euro game already but one worth a mention is in Iceland’s 1 Deild…

    KA VS. FJARDABYGGD

KA should be nailed on here and sit top having won the previous (Cup) H2H in February 8-0 and although it’s a good start their win-line of choice appears to be 2-0 which is putting me off goals galore.

KA prices are poor though and I reckon the visitors may grab one at some stage – they’ve failed to score in only 1 of their 8 games so far this season!

Going to side with 2 selections:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…EVENS

    OVER 2.5 2ND HALF GOALS…8/5

Sorry admin pressed report on your post by accident ?? I was checking if it had a confirmation pop up but guess not.

Great addition but it might get abused a bit

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

TheBoss, hopefully it will not be abused and we’ll keep an eye out as much as possible.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Ridiculous penalty in my opinion but I’m not going to argue with it.

    • admin 8 years ago

@theboss Once clicked on, it gives a brief message “Thank you for your feedback. We will look into it.”

  50. humble tipper 8 years ago

This ref is totally bias towards france, no way was that a penalty and this is daylight robbery.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

conray smith, was soft although the likes of Rio Ferdinand saying it was a definite penalty.
But please guys don’t make accusations against the ref unless you can prove it.

    • humble tipper 8 years ago

Mr f even before that decision you could see the ref is totally bias

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

conray smith, he’s made some strange decisions for sure and the pen was harsh but I’ve already said don’t make other claims you can’t prove in court.

  51. Mr Fixit 8 years ago

archie kelly, if Italy hadn’t been knocked the ref wouldn’t have got this big game.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Anyone on France antepost and who thinks the winner of this match will beat Portugal can have Germany at 9-2 on the outrights.
      Portugal are 2-1.

  52. capone31 8 years ago

Hampy, France win euro and Greizmann top scorer @16/1 looking very good

  53. nathanl 8 years ago

£78 on Portugal vs Germany final @2-1
    **LOST**

First goal don’t think was a pen and the second I don’t have a clue what kimmich was doing and he didn’t either!
Onto the next – have a NAP ready for tomorrow but will post on that thread and hopefully recoup tonight’s losses for/on Sunday’s final

    Well done all winners

  54. dc john boy 8 years ago

Fiver on Europa League over 2.5mgs fun four fold

    Hibernians
    Llandudno
    Cork
    Glenavon

    Returns 7/1

**LOST** so close but 1 goal short in cork game not all bad tho as managed to get cover at 9/4 when linfield equalised so quick & all other games up therefore no loss

Well done all winners & superb all who tipped France.

  55. humble tipper 8 years ago

£100 on portugal for the final, no way can france be this lucky again to find a referee like this

    • capone31 8 years ago

Portugal are woeful, France have it won, easy!

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Tony Caulfield, I hope France win but I bet it won’t be easy.
Portugal aren’t easy on the eye but are tough to beat and have one man who can make a difference.

    • humble tipper 8 years ago

Hope not @capone31, i hate seeing injustice at this level of football mate. 1st time i have ever seen a penalty given from a corner without a player even appealing for it, the ref was the only person in the world that knew what was going on for about 20 seconds.

    • capone31 8 years ago

I agree, he was dodgy. Breaking up the play 2nd half but still though, Germany had no striker and no answers!

  56. walenchi 8 years ago

    Terrible day for betting…

FC Differdange 03 couldn’t hit the back of the net…all slips lost…better days ahead!
    congrats to all winners

€33 Germany game over 4.5 cards returns €63 WON

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Well done Kelly…mine were losers but good luck to the French – deserved it tonight even if the dodgy pen was a game-changer on the stroke of halftime.

  58. bullseye 8 years ago

    Europa League treble:

Brondby vs Valur Reykjavik – over 4.5 first half Asian corners (lost)
FK Jelgava vs Breidablik – over 2.5 MG’s (won)
Llandudno vs FK Goteberg – FK Goteberg win (won)

    10/3 **NAP** LOST

Germany vs France – team performances France 30 to 40 pts 11/2 LOST

Only two first half corners in Brondby’s match killed my NAP. The sooner I get out of this stale run the better. Well done all with winners today.

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

About sums up my luck – chose this one over the Lettir v Augunblik game which I’d been tracking alongside…that one finished 5-4 with 8 (?) second half goals.
