Thursday is all about Europa League and there are dozens of ties to look at. Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs are all in action and I'll post a separate preview featuring their games.
After what happened to Celtic and Aberdeen in Luxembourg last week I promise not to take any Scottish teams on my top tips.
I've looked at stats, team news and HullShaker's comments and decided to go with two Europa League trebles. The first is Hacken to beat Cork as well as Vojvodina -1 at home to Connah's Quay and Genk -1 at home to Podgorica.
I'm also doing a both to score treble starting with Birkirkara v Hearts and Brondby v Hibs and adding Kairat Almaty v Maccabi Tel Aviv.
I've posted threeball bets for day one at The Open and I'm taking one of them as a Super Single.
It's England's Callum Shinkwin to beat Zander Lombard and Ryan Evans in the final group out.
Shinkwin has burst on to the scene this season with some spectacular rounds. He qualified for The Open by finishing fifth in the French Open and fired a final-round 65 at Castle Stuart last Sunday to clinch eighth place in the Scottish Open so he knows how to play links golf.
Two goals+ tipster Desmond used to be a member of Shinkwin's Moor Park course and tells me he is a big-hitter, fearless with a massive future. On current form he should outscore his playing partners and is 7-5 at Betfred to do so.
Remember to check out WeLoveBetting for their latest tips and video chat.

The good news for Hibs fans is that if they beat Brondby then they will be seeded for the third round and will be the only seeded Scottish side
Hibernian do have the hardest draw of the three Scottish teams but they are the best of the three anyway,
Although it was only a friendly against Motherwell “and I never pay any attention to a friendly match” Hibernian still played well, passed the ball well made chances and although it was 4-1 they were still guilty of missing chances like last season
I was a big critic of Jason Cummings last season but it’s a new season so it’s a clean slate and he has just signed a new 4 year deal,
John McGinn has also pledged his future to the club so confidence will be extra high,
It was good though to see the back of Alan Stubbs as now he has gone its welcome back ALEX HARRIS & SAM STANTON who were frozen out by Stubbs.
Both teams like to go forward so the obvious choice would be for goals whether it’s BOTH TO SCORE at 5/6 bet365 or OVER 2.5 GOALS at 21/20 Boylesports
A couple of bets I think are better though are
HIBERNIAN over 1.5 goals
HIBERNIAN draw no bet 31/20 betvictor 85/40 betvictor
The 85/40 odds are for Hibs over 1.5 goals
Lol JohnB you shouldn’t bet with your heart but with your head. And as for….” but they are the best of the three anyway”…Hearts and Aberdeen may have lost one offs to Hibs but over a season Hibs don’t even come close.
Your over 2.5gls could be a winner though.
Never bet with my heart which is why I only backed my team 5 times last season
The last one being Hibs to score over 2.5 goals v The Rangers
It’s only my opinion but after watching several reruns of Hearts and Aberdeen games from last season they don’t pass as well, their build up play is inferior and creating of chances has been worse and the Hibs players are technically better but people who don’t watch them week in week out won’t see that
I watched Hearts, Aberdeen and Celtic in Europe this season and they have all been a disgrace to Scottish football and the country needs Hibs to fly the European flag
Stats don’t lie johnb and they show Hibs couldn’t even get the better of Falkirk over 2 legs and therefore are still a lower league side. You’ll need to start better than last seasons 6-1 thrashing by Rangers to have any hope of knocking out Brondby. Good luck.
The results for Celtic and Aberdeen were shocking but to say Hibs are the best team in Europe from Scotland is frankly laughable.
Hibs are a good side and did well to win Scottish cup but remind me which league they are in.
Steven, Johnb’s a biased Hibs fan so he’s bound to think that.
I firmly believe Clydebank are better than Aberdeen and Hearts too.
Not biased just realistic but people that don’t watch them every week just won’t realise how good they are,
As for Falkirk, the wrong team won as they were dominated from start to finish, just missed chances and yes stats don’t lie, that’s why I say this
I didn’t actually say best Scottish team in Europe, I said best out of Hibs Hearts Aberdeen
Last season Hibs played 9 Premier League teams
Aberdeen
St Johnstone
Ross County
Dundee Utd Twice
Inverness Twice
Hearts Twice
Hibs 58 corners
The rest 38 corners
Hibs 100 shots at goal
The rest 67 shots at goal
Hibs 55 shots on target
The rest 21 shots on target
Hibs 14 goals
The rest 7 goals
I wasn’t happy with our performance last season but we were still good enough to dominate top league teams, attacking and defending we were superior and from what I have seen this season, albeit friendly matches, we look far better than last season especially with Stanton & Harris back at the club, Holt I wasn’t sure about but he looks pretty sharp for his age
I am the voice of reality
Johnb, as a neutral in this debate I’ll tell you Hibs are not better than Hearts or Aberdeen.
If they were they’d be in the Premiership for starters.
At the moment Hibs are 13th or 14th best team in the country and that’s a fact.
Fans are always biased so no one should take your claim seriously.
hibs got to win the championship next season then surely

**LOST** – An absolutely shocking result that was totally unjustified from the run of play. Debrecen were clearly lacking that cutting edge up top and should have had a comfortable lead going into the second half. Mr f good super single today,
Back at the start of the golf season I gave a write up about Callum Shinkwin as the main up and coming player for this season
Johnb, cheers. As I said Desmond played at the same club before moving back to Scotland last year.
He followed him as he qualified for the Scottish Open and then at Gullane in the tournament.
Seems to have a big future and hopefully does well today.

Football West NTC Women U19 vs Quinns FC Women
Not enough info/ too unpredicable to put anything big on this, but as far as I can tell from the league table that I’ve found the goal stats read:
Football West NTC – Played 11 F 20 A 24
Quinns FC – Played 11 F 14 A 63
With Quinns conceding 63 in 11 games, consider small stakes on:

No worries effinb, glad you got on!
Put most of my stake on the O4.5, and added O5.5,6.0 In Play after 50 odd mins. Just shows how wrong the bookies can get the match result though – pretty sure NTC were 1/14 and Quinns something like 33/1!

I know there is a big party organised for Easter Road tonight to celebrate 26 years since the Wallace Mercer takeover bid failed,
There will be some atmosphere and it will felt on the pitch by the players so expect a big Hibernian performance tonight
13th July 1990
Another day, another Europa Qualifier and another Icelandic side involved…
GRASSHOPPER VS. KR (1800 KO):
More of a gulf in class here and as an indicator, Swiss side Grasshopper sit 148th in the ranking index as opposed to KR’s 467th.
Don’t let that put you off entirely though – KR are no mugs and will put up a fight at home…they are however not in the best of domestic shape.
They’re alright attacking but are nowhere near as tight at the back as FH who played last night and I expect the Swiss to exploit this.
KR did score 8 goals over the 2 legs against Glenavon but to again put it into perspective, Glenavon sit 610th in the index so no direct comparison to Grasshopper.
One factor that does swing favour to KR getting something out of this (apart from the home advantage) is that they are well into their domestic campaign with a dozen or so games under their belts as opposed to the away side who have played out one game in the last 2 months…worth considering!
Two selections:

Well done with the double yesterday Mr F and good luck tonight ?
Going to have a little dabble in the Europa League qualifiers tonight:
Vojvodina -1.5 Asian Handicap
Shakhtar Soligorsk to Score
Double @ Evens (Bet365)
Vojvodina are simply of a much higher class. Of course, given the Celtic game the other night, we know this often counts for little in football, but I’m going to place my faith in their prolific home form. I did consider taking them on the -2.0 Asian as a single, but I’d like to be paid out should they win by 2 goals. As such, I’ve added Soligorsk to score. Domzale conceded to an Andorran side in both legs of the previous qualifying round and Soligorsk have themselves been banging in the goals at home as of late.
Baku v Shkendija
KR Reykjavik v Grasshoppers
Hibernian v Brondby
Over 1.5 Match Goals Treble @ 36/25 (Bet365)
Both Hull and Johnb have covered two of the games in my goals treble and I agree with them both in so much that both games look goal friendly. I’ve added the Shkendija game after monitoring their last qualifier in-play against a decent Cracovia outfit. They looked threatening on the break, particularly in the second leg and, over both legs, comfortably won by scoring 4 in the process. I like their chances of scoring and their no strangers to conceding the odd goal themselves.

Stat-Man, love a late goal – Benayoun with it too.

It was close with nae cigar in the MLS last night. Kamara had chances and his closest was a free kick which just went over the bar late on, and RSL failed to score in Vancouver despite controlling the stats sheet.
July is still being tough for me but after seeing the line up I am hoping I can get some returns back. Last year I backed against this side in these Europa League stages against Slovan Bratislava, where they lost by a 9-0 aggregate. 6-0 at home but only 3-0 in Bratislava. College Europa are the side and they are facing the Swedish giants AIK in Stockholm. AIK rank 176th in Europe, with Europa ranking 455th out of 456. They were beaten 2-1 last week by 310th ranked Armenian side FC Pyunik in Armenia, and last years opponents Bratislava are ranked 178th, so very close to the Swedish. The fairly strong line up should lead us to goals and maybe a tie ending home win for AIK. Strandberg their top goalscorer is on the bench but players such as Hauksson, Isak, and Ishizaki all start who all have 3 goals a piece in the Allsvenskan this season. Europa FC playing a 4-3-1-2 so should see plenty off efforts for the Swedes.

I see my preferred choice for next England manager PAUL CLEMENT has seen bits of money for the job but still available at 100/1 with paddy power,
Only problem is he has just signed for Bayern Munich
The other manager I think could sort England out is MARCELO BIELSA at 33/1
a no nonsense manager with international experience at Argentina and Chile “did reasonably at both clubs” and if it was up to the Chile fans then he would still be there
I would still like to see how Harry Redknapp would fare in the position ( What could have been?) but given his age he would only be a short term solution if we could not find another suitable candidate. I still cant get over the fact that he was overlooked in favour of Hodgson years ago, totally baffles me. Although he is not English Jurgen Klinsmann would be my first choice to take the reins who I believe could take us to the next level, he has international experience something most of the main candidates dont and has done an excellent job in charge of the German and US National sides.
Johnb, looks like a 2-horse race between Allardyce and Klinsmann. Clement and Bielsa have no chance I’m afraid.

Halftime Easter Road, good game, some good football but what a bad bad mistake from the Hibs Goalkeeper but Brondby haven’t really troubled us,
Cummings again like last season missed a decent chance, but did find the net later and although I can’t see a replay, from where I was it didn’t look offside and no wonder Lennon lost it, poor from the linesman
Austin for Brondby why he hasn’t been sent off I don’t know for two yellows but even the yellow he got could have been red
In all honesty I think a fair result at halftime would have been 2-1 Hibs as Boyle should have done better with his chance,
Hibs definitely bossing this game and the tie is far from finished because Brondby don’t look that good
Looks like I might be wrong, listening to the radio at halftime they are saying Cummings was offside

Thank god for Aberdeen.
4 Scottish teams play in Europe and only the dons can muster a goal.
Hibs you can excuse as they are not even in the Scots prem, but Celtic and hearts not scoring against Maltese and gibraltarian opposition must be worrying for Scottish football
Elvis Parsley, Hearts will be quite happy with that result. Birkirkara beat West Ham 1-0 last season – that must make Hearts better than them.
It’s not worrying times for Scottish football – it’s just the norm.
Our teams have been rubbish in Europe for years and it’s partly down to having to start before the league resumes.
With Rangers back in the top flight Scottish football is actually more upbeat than it’s been for years with all competitions sponsored and season tickets for top teams selling at record levels.

Must admit that was a shock result, how Hibs have been beat is a mystery, Cummings worst player on the pitch but like last season Super John McGinn has been outstanding
Drop Cummings, use him as a sub and we can definitely win in Denmark
Copenhagen here I come next week ??
Johnb, I admire your loyalty to Hibs but for anyone else it wasn’t that big a shock.
Shame about the early gift and I wish you well next week but expect Brondby to go through.
Mr f big shock from watching it, Brondby are not that good and we missed a chance tonight,
If anyone has backed Brondby tonight then they have dodged a bullet, Hibs by far the better team tonight
If you backed brondby you win, bullets or no bullets.
That’s what my betting slip says anyway, lol.
I always say you need luck and Brondby certainly got the luck tonight but that’s sport, best team doesn’t always win
Johnb, best team doesn’t always win but it was never a shock when you look at the rankings.
Mr f if you had seen the game you would be wondering how they got beat
Just heard Lennon interview and he says top class performance by the team and without a doubt Hibs can win next week, that’s not tongue in cheek by Lennon because Brondby don’t look that good
Lennon also said he has watched the Cummings goal 5 times and he says it was definitely onside, which was my first instinct but it wasn’t given so roll on next week,
But it was an impressive performance by Hibs and that’s not a biased view because people should know by now that I slate my team when they deserve it
Johnb, I was watching the golf but listened to quite a bit of it.
Verdict was Brondby didn’t really trouble Hibs after the early goal and were happy with 1-0.
As you say Hibs had chances but will be even tougher away.
Every fan is biased but you can’t justify saying Hibs are better than Hearts and Aberdeen.
I slated Hibs a lot last season but watching Motherwell game and tonight’s game we are far better than last season, the pace we have going forward is frightening and good luck to anyone who plays us this season because they will need it
Lol
Watch this space ?
Only funny because it’s about a team not even in the top division.
