IT didn't take long for the first huge shock of the tennis season. Rafa Nadal yesterday suffered a humiliating loss in his opening match of the campaign, crashing to
34-year-old journeyman and world No.127 Michael Berrer at the Qatar Open.
Nadal is of course still of course working his way back to fitness after an appendectomy but it was a massive and unexpected upset and the world No.3 is now out to 8-1 alongside Andy Murray to win the Australian Open.
World No.1 Novak Djokovic – the 11-10 favourite for Grand Slam glory in Melbourne – had no such trouble, beating Serb Dusan Lajovic in straight sets, and today takes on Sergiy Stakhovsky.
Berrer's reward for roughing up Rafa is a meeting with Ivan Dodig, who is 1-2 against the 9-5 giant-killer, while David Ferrer is 1-3 against 27-10 Fernando Verdasco in the all-Spanish encounter.
Another giant-killer is also in action today, this time on the darts oche as Swedish supermarket manager Peter Sajwani plays in the last 16 of the BDO World Championships.
Sajwani stunned top seed James Wilson in round one and is 4-1 today against Robbie Green (2-9).
Other sporting highlights include international Test cricket and a packed NBA card.
And although it's utter garbage, another series of Celeb Big Brother launches tonight and I've got my fingers crossed the line-up includes the Wealdstone Raider, who I've back at 6-4 with Skybet to appear in a reality TV show in 2015. You want some!
Good luck with your bets and feel free to share your sporting tips and chat.
Put this up on yesturdays thread
Two more bets that look good in the ATP Brisbane are
G Dimitrov v J Chardy 4:00am
JEREMY CHARDY to win 9/4 NAP Bet365 Betfred
M Klizan v G Dolgopolov 1:00am
MARTIN KLIZAN to win 13/8 Bet365 Betfred
Also the double pays 7.53/1 Bet365 Betfred
Klizan v Dolgololov hasnt started yet because of rain delay
Is there something wrong with Klizan? He just saved a match point and got it back to 1 set all and is priced @ 12/5 to go on and win…
Klizan one set down and 6-2 down in 2nd set tiebreak and he comes back to win it 8-6
Game on now 1 set all
Ad i think Klizan looks the fitter player now
Break back come on.
Well done john
Get in
Klizan wins 1-6 7-6 7-6
IM really not sure how he managed to win that!!
The standard of line calling looked attrocious, though I didn’t see any conclusive replays.
Well done John, an excruciating ordeal for anyone who watched the whole thing I imagine. But a good winner nonetheless!
I don’t really understand why he was 12/5 or longer for nearly the entirety of the second set. Dolgo looked on top in the bits i saw, but that’s still a silly price given the situation.
Pliskova somehow managed to blow her lead against someone who’s already been eliminated once this week!
So I’m relying on Wozniaki to win 2-0 after Venus did her bit and on Zvonareva to win her match after Vandeweghe won hers. Hoping to wake up to two much needed winners. Not so much needed for the bank balance as for the ego! It’s been a rocky start to the season so far!
**Posted Yesterday**
**WON** SS/NAP: Detroit Pistons +8.5 @ $1.92 (5 pts)
**WON** DOUBLE: Pistons +12.5, Suns ML win @ $2.50 approx odds (3 pts)
**Hope some of you got on! I also won a good chunk on the College Basketball with the overly generous handicaps on offer but didn’t post as a tip cos wasn’t sure myself – just got lucky!
Thanks attila,i was on the double!
Ad he looked to have been out so many times but that was when he played better
line calling was bad for both players but its a win and just Chardy to go
Fingers crossed John. They’ll be calling this JohnBs tennis thread in no time if you land a 7/1 double as well!
Congrats @attila… Did points bets yestady… Suns under came but not the spurs game.. Cheers!
DETROIT PISTONS +8.5 WON
PHEONIX SUNS -4 WON
Double: LOST
Suns v Bucks Under 218
Pistons v Spurs Under 205
I had to add that double later on, couldn’t just stay with the initial plays. Well no crying as it’s been a profitable night.
So far when started from scratch I’m
6-2 overall
6-1 on singles
0-1 on doubles
Unlucky on the 7/1 tennis double Johnb! Chardy 4 1 down in tiebreak to lead 6 4 then to lose it 10 8.
Tennis betting is impossible…tried a few already, underdog won everytime. That’s me done with Tennis, lol
Mate… stick to what you know…
is there a sport u won’t bet on…
wat we on tonight ??,
Lol huggy, I do very small stakes on sports I don’t know…while in the office, keeps me for interest only!
McGart yeah it was mate
For anyone that doesnt know
Chardy got beat 3-6 6-4 7- 6 (10-8)
MY NBA SUPER SINGLE FOR LATER:
– New Orleans Pelicans -4.0 @ $1.92
Pelicans are red hot and after their poor showing last time out they’ll run rings around the struggling Charlotte Hornets. Pelicans cover the -4.0 & win by 7!
I’ll post my game plan later with a double & treble.
I also really like Lakers, Pistons & Magic to all cover their + handicaps…these may feature in my double & treble later.
Im liking suns to cover 4.5 but gotta gut feeling for spurs -8.5…
SAVE KITTY for a better card but my single tonight is suns.
2.5 point stake for me.
super single heavily tipped on here and comes home , managed profit on the spurs game after a great opening 1/4 and cashed out…
JUST like to know , anyone follow the suns tip from here and make some £££££`s
pick tonights later , ATTILA coming up trumps with his singles and doubles , might be worth following…..
and i`m convinced his 11 team acca is getting closer..
Good night for me on the tennis last night.
Posted a nap of ZVONEREVA/ GOERGES double at just over Evens. Both won in straight sets.
Also highlighted U RADWANSKA and KANEPI and they also won in straight sets.
AD – also posted a couple of winning doubles so hope some of you got on.
Cheers once again Huggybear and Atilla
Nice work
have one bet for you today from the tennis in Doha, and please note the early afternoon starting time.
Good luck!
Early Banker Bet for Wednesday, January 7th
ATP Doha, Qatar ExxonMobil Open, Second Round
1:30 pm Ferrer v Verdasco
Bet: Ferrer win
Best odds: 1.4 @ bet365
At this early stage of the season when legs can tire a little more quickly it often pays to get behind players with a tireless work ethic and David Ferrer is as renowned for his dedication to fitness as Andy Murray.
Both of these players survived scares in the first round with Ferrer dropping the first set before coming back to beat Thiemo De Bakker in 3, while Verdasco needed a third set tiebreak to get by Teymuraz Gabashvili.
That was Verdasco’s first match since late October though, while Ferrer had a good tuneup for the new season at the Hua Hin exhibition last week, beating Gasquet and Fognini and losing a tight 3 setter to Berdych.
Verdasco is a great talent but certainly not renowned for his consistency or his training regime, and Ferrer should have a big advantage when it comes to match fitness and sharpness today.
Not that he should need it, as although he only leads the all time head to head 12-7, Ferrer has now won 8 matches in a row over his compatriot.
Of the 7 of those matches that were completed, Ferrer won 6 of them quite easily in straight sets.
Two of those matches were played quite recently, with Ferrer turning in dominant performances to beat Verdasco 6-3, 6-2 in Valencia and 6-1, 6-2 in Paris at the end of the 2014 season back in October, so under the circumstances it’s very hard to see Verdasco turning the tables and coming away with a win today.
Not big odds but it’s my banker bet of the day
Hudmystar – when did u post that? Ferrer is now 1.25
As Hudmystar has pointed out Verdasco should pose no threat to Ferrer today. Although Ferrer started slowly yesterday I fancy him to win comfortably today.
Ferrer 2-0 @ 4/6
Humdy/sooty-
Ferrer does indeed look like a safe bet, but as far as I know he hasn’t been available @ 1.4 since yesterday evening. When I postedon the old thread saying he looked a good price he was 2/5 and he has been steadily shortening ever since. He was an industry best price of 1/3 when I went to bed at 04:00 and he is now a best price of 3/10. I would certainly still consider him for multiples at those odds, but at this stage of the season it’s too short for me to tip it as a single as the stake requires goes against my keep it cheap till the madness is over policy!
Atilla- I know what you mean and it’s been a very difficult week so far, but I can promise you it’s not normally this hard! I’ve posted more losers than winners this week but I’ve been saying all the way that there are no guarantees and that stakes need to be small till there’s more form to go on. Don’t give up on tennis, but maybe wait till next week or the week after when resilts should be slightly less chaotic
I would have to disagree with you aj in saying Verdasco poses no threat to Ferrer. I expect Daveed to come through in relatively comfortable fashion, but Verdasco is an excellent player on his day and it’s not a matchup that Ferrer really has a huge edge in, it’s much more of a mental than technical advantage he holds over him. And one has to expect the unexpected in the first week or January!
Afternoon treble:
Goffin (starts any minute in shenzen)
Ferrer (1:30)
Karlovic (12:30)
pays 1.23/1
also a small single on Coric already suggested @ 23/10
good with the treble
Just looking back over the basketball tips for last night well done Huggybear & Attila on a limited card. Normally follow the tips but gave it a miss last night. I notice bet365 are only pricing up 4 games for tonight on the nba. Will the others become avaliable later in the day as theres a full card tonight?
Update on my Tennis, Darts and Snooker tournament winners tips
Tennis- ATP Brisbane
KEI NISHIKORI advised at 4/1 now 7/2
MARTIN KLIZAN advised at 100/1 now 22/1
Darts- BDO World Championship
JEFF SMITH advised at 25/1 now 12/1
Snooker- The Masters
RONNIE O’SULLIVAN advised at 15/8 now 7/4
john b, the expert on underdogs.
McGart, cheers mate. Bookies normally load them one by one…as they play most days they have limited time to get the hundreds of markets for each game priced up. Give it few more hours’
Ad – Granted Verdasco may give anyone a game on his day.
However looking at the stats in there last 9 matches Ferrer has dropped just one set to Verdasco, on top of this the two occasions they played each other in 2014 Ferrer won comfortably.
I’ve followed your tennis bets for a while and you obviously know your tennis, I can only hope on this occasion that Ferrers mental advantage gets the better of Verdasco.
GL on your treble and hopefully Ferrer wins well for both of us.
Thanks mate, and good luck with yours. For the record I do think ferrwe will win in straights, I just don’t think its a given is all I’m saying!
Borna Coric to win a set at just under evens has to be worth a little tickle
STATEMENT FROM THE UFC:
“We support UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones’ decision to enter a drug treatment facility to address his recent issue. While we are disappointed in the failed test, we applaud him for making this decision to enter a drug treatment facility. Jon is a strong, courageous fighter inside the Octagon, and we expect him to fight this issue with the same poise and diligence. We commend him on his decision, and look forward to him emerging from this program a better man as a result.”
No wonder my bet on the weekend won in 42 seconds hahaha
don’t see any golf tips up for this week,
but just gonna add 1 from each tournement that should go well
MATT KUCHAR @8/1
HENNI OTTO @20/1
TWO SINGLES E/W
AND DOUBLE E/W @190/1
GOOD LUCK.
Coric getting slammed by Stan the Man!
I think he may well struggle to replicate the level he found against Nadal against Dodig, but Berrer played so well yesterday it seems worth a risk to take him @ 2/1. Starts soon, Dodig isn’t mr reliable, could be closer than the bookies think. Though people do nearly always struggle to back up career best wins. Berrer is a battler however.
Verdasco now 25/1 to win. Karlovic and goffin have won already so anyone on my treble can cover very easily if they want to.
Well Verdasco may always be a potential threat, but he certainly posed none today! Well done all on him.
A good single aj, congrats. And three multiples of evens or better on the spin from me to help steady a shaky week!
Thanks Ad. Not the greatest odds but I find tennis much safer than football! Well done with your treble.
Ferrer 2 – 0 @ 4/6 *WON*
Nice one AD – I was only on the Goffin match as had it in a double with Janowicz/ agnieska doubles match. Went 4 from 4 on my personal bets last night so left the days matches.
Will post my overnight best bet(s) when I get a chance in the evening.
Good stuff Iddy. I will have a closer look at tonights matches a bit later and we can compare notes.
I will put up my NAP for tomorrow now though in case the odds shorten.
Lucie Safarova to beat Serena Williams @ 5/2.
smaller bet on 2-0 Safarova @ 11/2.
I’m taking a bit of a risk here but I think it’s potentially too good an opportunity to miss. Because she’s Serena Williams she’s just 3/10 for the win in most places. But based on her last two performances there’s plenty of evidence to suggest we won’t be seeing the real Serena Williams tomorrow.
In her first match this season against Flavia Pennetta she was bageled in the first set and needed an on court espresso to pick her up! She turned that round but Pennetta is a much better matchup for Serena than Safarova is. Safarova has the power to dictate points and punish her if she is sub par. Yes Serena has never lost to Safarova before, but their two matches last year were very close, and, unlike Serena, Safarova has started the season well. Williams went on to get hammered 6-2, 6-1 by Eugenie Bouchard in her second match and talked about having no energy and feeling bizarrely lethargic afterwards. In her own words:
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I’m so tired”
“It’s weird. I can’t get my body to move. I feel like I’ve got no energy. It’s a little frustrating because I know I can play two thousand times better.
“I’ve been trying to rest up. I did a little gym work, but I just felt depleted. I don’t know why. I don’t know how to describe it.”
Safarova had no such problems as she comfortably beat both Pennetta and Bouchard in straight sets. She will be fired up for this and given how close she was to Serena in both the matches I saw them play last year I think she has a great chance of finally getting what would be a huge win for her over the world number 1.
Because this is Serena it would be silly to back against her with anything you can’t afford to lose, but this is a real opportunity for Safaorva.
I would recommend Ladbrokes for backing Safarova as they offer 11/2 for 2-0 and will pay out on an outright bet after the first set is completed in the event of a retirement, which is obviously possible if Serena is struggling. Bet365 and some others will void the bet.
Sorry guys im at work so posted this as soon as i placed it i got 1.4 ten minutes before i posted on bet365 £10 return £12.50 i dont htink you can post pics on here but thats what i got honest as the day.
Got 2 NBA TIPS i think are bankers off a good source i believe same source as my tennis bet just thought id share but i know there are guys on here who actually watch and Know there stuff ill post it and you guys can enjoy or ignore but hope it all helps in the long run. Taking a break from the football and the football thread its got so confusing and inconsistent
Wow well done on your bets last night iddy, it seeemed a tricky night to me, so I didnt bet. Ad I was wondering if you had an opinion on the lepchenko kudryatseva match. Lepchenko looks really good value at 1/3 to me. I’m considering that and Nieminen as my NAP tonight
NBA Basketball
2:30 am Phoenix Suns @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Bet: Phoenix win
Best odds: 2/9 bet 365
These are two teams rapidly moving in different directions with Phoenix winning 9 of their last 11 to move to 21-16 while Minnesota have lost 12 in a row and 17 of their last 18 to fall to a league worst 5-28.
The Timberwolves are a young team who were always going to struggle this season, but it got much more difficult when they lost starting point guard Ricky Rubio and starting centre Nikola Pekovic to ankle injuries.
Though they have some talent on offense Minnesota is the worst defensive team in the league, giving up an average of 108.5 points per game. That’s bad news coming up against fast paced Phoenix who love to run the floor and score with the best of them, putting up a league fourth best 107 points per game.
Look for the Suns talented backcourt trio of Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe and Isiah Thomas to exploit Minnesota’s defensive deficiencies in this one and for Phoenix to cruise to a comfortable win.
NBA Basketball
3:00 am Oklahoma City Thunder @ Sacramento Kings
Bet: Oklahoma City win
Best odds: 2/7
The Thunder may only be 17-18 but as I’ve mentioned a number of times they’re still one of the top teams in the NBA and their poor record is solely the result of stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook being out injured for the first month of the season.
That resulted in a 3-12 start, but since the most potent dual scoring threat in the league has returned to the lineup OKC has gone 14-6, and 4 of the 6 losses came to Golden State, Portland and Dallas, teams with a combined record of 80-24.
After a surprisingly good 9-5 start the Kings have struggled greatly, losing 15 of their last 20 to fall to 14-20 for the season.
The Thunder have won 12 straight over Sacramento, including twice already this season. They’re also not taking any opponents for granted knowing that they need to win an awful lot of games to make up for the poor start and pull into a decent playoff position, so I fully expect them to make it 13 in a row over a struggling Kings squad tonight.
you can double up for 0.55 odds bet365.
Just thought id share Good luck if youre on
Just for the record ive taken these as singles and a very small double for fun
Hudmystar- at odds of 1.4 £10 would return £14. £12.50 is the return you would get from odds of 1.25.
Sorry Ad just realised what im doing 1/4 not 1.4 you are correct i now see the confusion sorry guys i just place the bet LoL
No worries dude! Ferrer was 2/5 yesterday so it pays to get in early where possible. A 1/4 winner is still good though so well done.
Hudmyster – £10 on at 1.4 odds would return £14. £10 on at 1.25 odds would return £12.50.
So, let’s keep the good run continue.
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS -11
WASHINGTON WIZARDS -14.5
MILWAUKEE BUCKS -6.5
I normally wouldn’t take a team to cover double digits but just can’t resist tonight.
*It’s not as much about Wizards as its about Knicks, they don’t care anymore if they win or loose. Plus they don’t even have a complete roster- injuries and trades. I see Wizards winning by 20+
*Warriors are flying at home and I like the fact that even if Warriors are winning by double digits they don’t rest their leaders.
*Yes 76ers won their first home game. And that should be a small letdown plus I don’t see them winning two in a row. And I really like what Kidd has done with this young Bucks team.they r playing well and are a better team in this one.
I can see all games beeing blowouts. But you know in NBA anything is possible.
UK
Good luck to everyone
Brian tennis- im not sure. Kudryatseva blew the pliskova leg of my treble with some really great tennis last night. I haven’t seen Lepchenko play this week so I can’t comment on where her game is at right now. The keys result looks very impressive, but whether she had a stormer of keys had a bad day I have no idea. The bookies seem pretty confodent in lepchenko despite Kud’s upset win and she’s getting backed so that’s probably telling. To conclude, no idea mate!
Thanks Ad. I guess I’ll have to give it a bit more thought
Ad I turned a pound into £260 following the football thread but it’s been a messy few weeks so back to £220 thought I’d change my method to bump up by bank a bit had £10 each on the 2 short odds nba let’s see how I do. Also these are tips I get not claiming them as my own just thought I’d share with you good folk the tipster is extremely good though been following since August just got on it in January I think he’s had 4 losses since August but I’ve got the spread sheet but can’t open it on my phone.
The problem is I don’t know Lepchenko’s game as well as a lot of other players so im not the best informed person to pick a winner from that one. If you think she looks good then go for it. But I would just say that Kud looked to be playing some good tennis yesterday. And lucky losers always seem to do ridiculously well! Could be tired though.
Vesnina 3/1 to beat Venus is tempting me. She was good against Konjah and played intelligently, hitting big when it was on but mainly steady tennis to draw the error. Errors are Venus’ weak point and Vesnina showed enough to make me think this might be closer than the bookies do.
The bball picks look good but I know seeet f all about it!
Might stick a tenner on.
Good luck.
Just to let people know the opening odds for NIshikori to beat Tomic seem very generous at around 2/5. It’s a Friday Match so the odds will have plenty of time to drift.
The bet I’ve decided upon tonight is a simple single on Nieminen to beat Duckworth at 3/5. I’ll most likely combine that with Nishikori after I’ve looked into his opening match
Ad – I would do a small stake double on Safarova/ vesnina. I’m guessing it works to around 10-1. U never know, both are capable of the upset.
AD – also have a look into Sesai Zhang v Zarina Diyas. Zheng is 6/4….could well be a super single, has beaten Diyas on all previous occasions I think.
Brian tennis-spot on there.
I was about to post something about Nishi and how his price will surely shorten. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s at 2-7 by the time the match starts. Worth getting on now.
Nishikori to beat Tomic doubled with Pospisil to beat Fognini pays 1/1 and I’m having some of that.
That will be my Friday Nap
Odds may be cut so Id recommend getting on ASAP for anyone who likes the look of that bet.
Pospisil v Fognini is in the Hopman Cup
Nishikroi v Tomic is in Brisbane
Iddy- head to head looks good for saisai but Diyas has come a long way since the last time they played.
@Huggybear – what you on tonight? Oh the choices!
Ok got it wrong last night with Sloane Stephens, (it was looking like a certainty after the first set but fair play to Lauren Davis she’s quickly becoming the best player on tour at recovering from a set down!)
On to tonight’s matches,
Vesnina has played really well so far this week and I expect her too see off Venus Williams at Auckland. A price of 3/1 looks very good value to me.
Sloane Stephens simply cannot be trusted mate! Shes on my black lost along with the likes of Fognini and Stosur!
I really do hope she can show some mental strength this year as she has real top5 potential.
Getting a bit carried away with underdogs here, but I’m also throwing a few bob away on Dustin Brown. He is 6/1 to beat Ferrer, and while Its unlikely to actually happen, I have three reasons for risking it:
1) He thrives in these underdog v big name occasions. Fearless, confident and talented. He smashed his way past Rafa last year and Hewitt at wimbledon the year before.
2) It’s not a bad matchup for him on a hard court, as his brand of aggressive, first strike tennis is exactly the brand of tennis that you need to beat David Ferrer.
3) I absolutely love the guy! And he seems to be serving well, which will be the foundation for his challenge.
mate , cant see away from the pelicans , 1 place outside the playoffs and need the win , hornets won last 2 so confidence may be up but jefferson is missing for them.
Gsw should cover the 11 against the pacers , on a different planet right now.
also liking the big 11.5 the lakers being given in a los angeles derby .
might also be a night to look at a team totals treble , i`m sure Jordan will post one later as all the big guns are playing tonight. also been reading a few tips calling the pelicans/hornets under 193….
tonights single for me is gsw to cover the 11 against the pacers ,
Just put a 2500/1 11-fold on. That will be my ski trip paid for and then some
For anyone interested Johnb has posted a double NB/NAP for tomorrow on the racing thread. It opened at 10/1 and has been backed down to 5/1. He is confident in its chances.
I have backed it straight up and put it E/W in a 5-fold with
Nishikori, Wawrinka, Sharapova and Pospisil. Pays 15/1 and definitely worth a tenner!

ID TAKE :
New York Knicks @ Washington Wizards = 179.5 OVER
Orlando Magic @ Denver Nuggets = 193.5 OVER
New Orleans Pelicans @ Charlotte Hornets = 200 UNDER
GOOD LUCK GUYS , SEE GOALS ARE FLYING IN FOR THE FOOTY BACKERS…. NOT!!!!
MY NBA GAME PLAN TODAY:
SS/NAP: Pelicans -4.0 @ $1.92 (5 pts)
DOUBLE: Wizards -13.5, Warriors -10.5 @ $3.03 (3 pts)
TREBLE: Pistons +10.5, Magic + 8.5, Lakers +11.5 @ $4.55 (2 pts)
Big card today but going to keep it simple enough with the 3 above bets. I’ve given the teams in my double & treble 1 or 2 points extra in their handicap as although it reduces the odds, more often Tha not 1 team falls 1 point short of standard handicap causing bet to fail, so am playing it safe :-)
Fairly confident of my selections today…looking forward to the games! Good luck to all who are having a bet today.
Sorry but I can’t pick out few. If you want something safer I would recommend taking Attilas and hugybears naps and their picks, give some additional points to them and hope for the best.
And I’m adding HOUSTON ROCKETS -6 to my main bets.
I was leaning for Houston when the line opened at 7, and now has dropped to 6, I don’t see how a Houston team will not win banged up Cavs. And 6 points ain’t much to cover.
Though one thing I don’t understand is why the line is dropping.
ATTILA , NICE AND SENSIBLE , GOOD LUCK MATE , HOPEFULLY ANOTHER PROFITABLE EVENING
Update on my standing pre-tournament outright tips:
WTA Brisbane:
Sharapova – tipped @ 11/4 now 6/4. Plays Suarez Navarro in the quarter finals tomorrow morning.
Also Svitolina – suggested @ 50/1 now 16/1. Plays Kerber in the quarter finals tomorrow morning.
WTA Shenzen:
Halep – tipped @ 9/4 now 13/8. Plays Krunic in the quarter finals tomorrow morning.
Also Bacsinszky suggested @ 33/1 now 20/1. Plays Zvonareva in the quarter finals tomorrow morning.
ATP Shenai:
Goffin – tipped at 11/2 now 9/2. Plays Heider Maurer in the quarter finals Friday morning.
ATP Doha:
Djokovic – tipped @ 11/10 now 1/2. Plays Karlovic in the quarter finals tomorrow afternoon.
I’m expecting all of these to win their quarter finals so with a little luck the odds should keep dropping and my chances of some winners should keep rising.
Cheers Huggybear! Thanks for the heads up on Warriors, I wasn’t sure myself but after you napped it I threw it in my double. GL yourself mate.
I am on a Canadian double tonight in the tennis at the Hopman Cup;
BOUCHARD d Pennetta 8/13
POSPISIL d Fognini 2/5
Double pays around 1.2/1
Also on Huggy and Attila’s NAPs on the Basketball.
Good luck everyone
Andrew Whittington v Marcos Baghdatis – 2AM
There is a huge gulf in class between these two players and almost 500 places in the rankings. Unfortunately, the odds reflect this. Baghdatis is just 1/8 to win this match. He’s been in great form as of late winning 9 of his last 10 matches.
This is the second round of the Happy Valley challenger, Baghdatis won his first round match 6-4 6-3 against a significantly better opponent more than 300 places higher in the rankings than Whittington. Rankings aren’t everything but they are there for a reason and the difference in class between these two should be evident tonight.
Under 19.5 Games @ 1/1
(6-4 6-3 again would be perfect)
On your tips tonight Attila, taken a pounding on the football over the last 6 weeks or so. So giving the football a miss for a while and looking to build up a pot over the coming weeks on nba. Will be playing pelicans, warrior’s, lakers and pistons as safe as can be so. GL
On your nap and double tonight attila, good luck :)
Update on my bdo darts picks:
Hughes 12/1 now 8/1
Mitchell 14/1 now 5/1
Robson 33/1 now 25/1
Dekker 33/1 eliminated in 1st round
@ McGart
I’m doing excatly the same. Gotta stay on NBA singles or doubles only. Need to stay away from large 4/5/6 folds aswell even they look soooo juicy
No worries guys, hope we can get you son cash back in your pots! To be honest, if id stayed off the footy the last month id prob have a couple thousand profit from nba, but have been losing most my winnings so only up a couple hundred. Halved my footy stake yesterday and with more losers am thinking if chucking footy altogether except for Saturdays only where there’s a decent card.
Guys i do not follow basketball ….so iv come to the experts……which teams need to win and will win
Just a small bit of input when taking teams against a large spread ( gsw 11 / clippers 11 tonight ) , when you consider its a 3 point a quarter or 1 basket from outside the arc , it doesn`t seem that much.
Level stakes have put a few pounds in the kitty and football betting seems to be getting harder and harder to call.
Hoping a few new NBA better stick with the regulars if 1 or 2 go down as other boys tipping on here and usually way better than 2 from 3 …
Go for the big acca`s by all means but sensible stakes , sometimes the spread is basically a 50/50 toss of a coin , so to call 10/11 right a night would be incredible…
GOOD LUCK GUYS , hope we build a pot to waste on weekend footy…..
Tennis:
Ivanovic
Sharapova
Errani/Vinci
Wozniacki
Kerber
Nieminen
Bouchard
I fancy all of the above to win in the morning. Not yet decided how I will be backing them. Going to look at making a double at just over evens and maybe a couple of trebles around the 2/1 and 3/1 mark. Will also look at small stakes on the 7-Fold at 7.5/1.
Cant believe the Rockets were -1 on the spread at one point. Assuming there’s no Rockets injuries, Id have put my house on that haha
NBA Match Tips
Rockets (-6)
Hawks (-4.5)
Nets (Moneyline) @1/2
Singles or Treble @4.4/1 (5.4 decimal)
Sorry, i posted earlier that Pospisil / nishikori was my friday NAP. Just realised Pospisil plays at 03:00 tomorrow. I’m still tipping that bet, but just be aware it is spread over two days.
Djokovic and Karlovic have played 4 sets of tennis against eachother, 3 have gone to a tie-break – 11/10 for a tie-break to be played
Seppi v Dodig also has tie-break written all over it
1st quarter betting
Bucks V 76ers
Total Points Under 49
james- seppi v dodig has 6-7. 7-6. 6-7 written all over it!
Not sure about Novak v Ivo. They haven’t played for 6 years and Novak is a different animal now. And Ivo is 35! still, his serve has stood the test of time and he’s hitting it well enough to give him a chance of a breaker. But I just can’t bring myself to back him to win 6 service games in a row against Novak Djokovic in the sort of form he’s been in.
Nole will probably break Karlovic on the first service game! But in all seriousness, I can see him knitting together six service games on a hardcourt. Plus, he’ll have a right old swing against the Djokovic serve and might nick a break.
had her down as losing this but Coco might be worth a few quid @ 3/1 a set down to Zahlavova Strycova. Coco hit twice as many errors as ZS and ZS is very capable of putting in a wild set or two like that herself.
I would be amazed if he broke Djokovic. Truly amazed!
On the subject of Coco, she’s 150/1 with Paddy to win the Australian Open – does that represent any kind of value? She seems to be grinding out results and that serve is BIG
1st quarter betting – WON*
Bucks V 76ers
Total Points Under 49
Congrats to all that followed
I don’t think so. Her serve certainly is big, but she makes way too many mistakes and goes missing in matches more often than you can get away with in a slam. I could see her making the quarters maybe if she gets a good draw, but any further would be a huge surprise. There are too many better and less erratic players around.
Im going to post my early picks for both Mens and Womens Australian Open once this week’s tournaments are up.
Good luck everyone with your overnight bets. Quarters betting is always my favorite category pre grand slam but I look forward to reading your early thoughts on the Aussie.
Pelicans are red hot today just as I thought. Up by 7 at HT, can see them holding this lead easily to bring in the NAP.
Wizards all over Knicks as well, can see them winning by 20+ to be honest.
Day is looking good so far!
Im hot on the Rockets and the Hawks, they were my main picks.
Pelicans went to pieces 2nd half, really hoping they can bring it back.
actually scrap that, I just checked and I took Pelicans out last minute. got Hornets +8 though in another bet :)
Damn Wizards went to sleep in last minute
Were up by 17 then only 10 at the buzzer. Typical! Pelicans also thrown away a good lead in last quarter…what a joke!
I had Wizards -10.5 sickening. half a darn point
Still the Rockets came in for me, just needs to Hawks to bring the rest home for me.
Great attila, just great
2 of them blew it Attila! What you think of Warriors -11.5 and Lakers + 10.5 to soften the blow?
Kerber Svitolina over 21.5 games WINS @ 4/5 :)
Svitolina looked dead and buried for a while but has fought her way back. I said there’d be breaks and drama aplenty!
I’ve done a double of Suns -4.5 and Warriors -7.5 at EVENS! Win my cash back hopefully.
Nothing I can do about teams cruising home in the final quarter, its the risk of handicap betting that one needs to be aware if before placing the bets.
Id take Suns at -8 so good bet
Magic to pull it back at half-time is @5/1
You win some lose some thats just the way it goes Attila. Unfortunately I just seem to lose. That double sounds ok gl
Ad who do you think will win?
THATS what Im talking about Hawks!!
Magic to pull it back at half-time is @5/1
This missed by 2 points haha
Both team are terrible, missed so many baskets between them.
Really cant come in for 1 day, have some losses then get the $hits with the tipster. My Treble is still alive and has a good chance of landing still
..if it does land and you followed my game plan you’ll break even with no real loss. My tips are posted taking the whole game plan into account.
Iv gone with the Suns to pull it back at haf-time
wow, what happened to the bulls? Crazy score
Ended up going with Warrior’s -11.5 and Lakers +13.5 pays 2/1. Little risky.
Clippers will blow the Lakers away
Thunder will bring it back
Warriors struggling at the min Mcgart
Might be a prime example as why not to chase losses…Suns & GSw both getting smashed by inferior opposition… Always the way
David mc
You should take a leaf out my book and pack it in,
3 days and counting im off it ha
Lakers geting hammered anyways Davy bhoy. How did your bets go? Poor results thats me chucked it lol. Johnb nap has been geting hammered 10/1 into 5s.
Damn Suns, damn Lakers, Damn Thunder, damn all of the lazy f’ers not playing to form!!!!! NBA becoming like the footy with all these crazy results!
when I said the Clippers would blow the Lakers away, I wasn’t expecting this much of a blow out! Wow
Oh god what an awful night AGAIN! I followed what I thought were safe bets with the Suns -3.5 and Pelicans win :( The footy is killing me too. Time to pack up for a while I think… this is just making me angry.
Managed to get the Lakers under 20.5 points in the 3rd…Yes please! Won by 6 points. My advice is to go for the Lakers to go under whatever the points total/price is at the moment
Currently the Lakers are to score under 20.5 points @ 5/6
I got 7/4 clippers to win the 4th quarter at ladbrokes the lakers were 8/13 that was beyond crazy. This was the price at the end of the third quarter????
that means just to win the 4th, so the score beforehand doesnt count. It starts a 0-0
Delboy, even the Clippers to win the 4th by 3 or more @ 21/10 looks too good
Clippers will play their bench for the 4th
Yeah looks like it i-Try, letting the Lakers score afew more points in this quarter
2015 Sport Acca

Cricket WC: Australia,
French Open: Nadal,
Any Major: McIlroy,
F1: Hamilton,
Rugby WC: New Zealand

Stromy pp had that bet with ronny to win snooks Wc instead of Hamilton for 75/1 max bet 5er I think though stuck one on it
