ON a quiet night featuring mostly cup games maybe I should make it a no bet – I am still learning after all.
I did reduce my stakes though with my only bet a three-point Super Single on Napoli and Rennes. Both teams ended up winning but not in 90 minutes.
Team news suggested both would field strong sides but Napoli rested some I hoped to see feature. The only plus for me on the night was dismissing Sevilla's chances of winning and in hindsight maybe I should have stuck up Espanyol or Espanyol draw no bet.
Sevilla's consolation in a 3-1 defeat did bring up a btts treble which was well followed so well done to everyone who posted a winner.
On Friday there are two interesting TV games with the FA Cup weekend kicking off with Cambridge v Man Utd and in the Scottish Premiership Aberdeen can return to the top of the table with a win at St Johnstone.
The Dons downed thousands of coupons at the weekend as their eight-game winning run and eight clean sheets in a row were ended by Dundee. However, Derek McInnes's side will take heart from the fact they battled back from 3-1 down with minutes to go to draw 3-3.
That extended their unbeaten run to nine and the Dons are a biggest 5-6 at Ladbrokes and Betfred to win at McDiarmid Park – and that's a price drop.
Aberdeen lost 1-0 in Perth at the start of the season but crucially this is Saints' third game in seven days while McInnes has had a full week to prepare his team.
Saints boss Tommy Wright made come changes for the 2-0 defeat at Inverness but the fact is he's had just two days to concentrate on this one.
Both meetings this season have been under two goals as have six out of nine at McDiarmid. With Saints struggling for goals – just 12 at home – back under 2.5 goals at 4-5 with Ladbrokes.
Adam Rooney is second favourite to win the Premiership Golden Boot and looks best bet at 9-2 with McBookie to score first. David Goodwillie, who has just agreed a new deal, is 2-1 to celebrate with a goal.
Louis van Gaal's United won't enjoy the Abbey Stadium surroundings but should be professional enough on the pitch to get the job done.
United aren't expected to make too many changes and are 2-9 with McBookie to win and 8-13 with Skybet minus one. If you fancy United to crush their rivals the bet to have is minus two at 17-10 at sportingbet.
Yesterday we had a bit of fun after someone (sorry I can't remember who) flagged up over 1.5 Cambridge cards at 11-10 with Paddy Power. I said it was good bet but we needed to know the ref and his stats.
Alasu then commented the ref was Chris Hoy and one wag said he could flash a red and tell the player “to get on his bike”. In his one FA Cup clash this season he showed eight yellows and there is every chance of an early booking with Cambridge promising to fly out the traps with a high-energy game.
Plenty of people have suggested both to score at Cambridge and if Victor Valdes plays instead of David de Gea the chances of that will increase. De Gea has been in sparkling form this season but new signing Valdes hasn't played a competitive first-team game since March so could be rusty.
My Top Treble starts with Aberdeen who I believe will edge out Saints and I'm adding over 2.5 goals at Twente v Heracles in the Dutch top flight and both to score at Ghana v Algeria in the African Nations Cup with Ghana star striker Asamoah Gyan expected to return after suffering from malaria.

I’ve thrown rules out of the window the past few days and bet on O2.5 in friendly matches as I’ve noticed the goals flying in and the bookies not pricing accordingly. I’ve not put them on the site because I don’t have any knowledge other than stats and I don’t like betting on games I know nothing about, but I’ve won two small fivefolds this week as well as a fourfold and a treble, with only one loss – yesterday, which was a slim card and I was betting out of sheer boredom at work, which we all know is a bad move.

Two of the more fancied nations face off later on this afternoon, and with Ghana needing a win, I think it could be an open game. The goals have dried up in the last two days, but I think this fixture may buck the trend.
Seven out the first Eight matches in the tournament saw BTTS, and all four teams did in their group C openers. Ghana need a win in all reality to keep their dreams alive, and Algeria has we saw in the World Cup are a pretty good team who cause trouble for anyone. Algeria last six games as seen BTTS, while Ghana last four as seen BTTS. I think the 11/10 at Paddy Power is worth taking if like me you expect an open game.
In the goal scorer market, regulars will probably know where I am going and that is the Algerian Islam Slimani, if he starts. I don’t want to repeat myself, Slimani delivered for me in the world cup when I backed him, scoring two goals in that tournament, and also scored against South Africa in the opener. And now the reasoning, mostly based on current form (last 5 games, home/win) and some other very interesting info I heard yesterday on the radio.
Hearts, well as we all know are looking great at the minute sitting top of the league and I can only see one winner in this game, hopefully by more than 1 goal so as to see a full win rather than just a return of stake should they only win by 1. Hearts @ home, last 5 games, won 4 drew 1, 10 goals for just 2 against.
Lommel, currently 2nd in the league against bottom side KV.Woluwe-Zaventem. Lommel’s last 5 @ home reads, won 3, drew 1, lost 1, 5 goals for but just 1 conceded. Maybe this doesn’t seem too great but take into account KV.Woluwe-Zaventem have now lost their last 5 away from home, scoring just 3 and conceding 12.
Real Betis, 2nd v 2nd bottom. Betis’ home record reads 4 wins, 1 defeat, 8 goals for, 3 against. Sabadell away from home, drew 1, lost 4, scored 4 let in 9.
The 3 above near enough explain themselves, the last part of the quad, Man City v Middlesbrough is the most interesting one.
I heard on the radio this that City will only be returning from Abu Dhabi early on Saturday morning around 7am, this is the same day as the game, barring no hold ups at the airport of course so there is still the real possibility that a delay could happen. The guys on the radio, including members of the public who regular fly that course, have all said that you get very little sleep if any on these flights and it’s 7 hours long. This surely must be taken into consideration went playing a game at 3pm the very same day. Plus Middlesbrough won’t be a push over, currently 2nd in the Championship and should give Man City a good run for their money in my opinion.

Looking at statistics for tonight’s games I’ve decided to do a small stake on a correct score. Using the same analysis as I did for the Liverpool/Chelsea game which brought me to the 1-1 score, I have a tip for St Johnstone v Aberdeen, hopefully it wasn’t a fluke.
St Johnstone (home) and Aberdeen (away) have low btts which rules that out for me. Secondly neither side in their respective disposition score high enough on ov2.5 for me to consider either. St Johnstone home PPG is significantly lower than Aberdeens PPG away score. Finally, the Saints have a high FTS score coupled with Aberdeen who have a decent CS score.
All of these factors bring me to a tip, small stakes for a score of –

I would like to point out that over 2.5 cards in Man Utd game is around 1.725 or 1.75 now at Bet365. However, card can be doubled with goals in the same game. So if you take over 2.5 cards and over 2.0 asian goals (minimum risk, so I think!) together in a double, you should get the odd over EVENS.

So when it comes to covering the SS losers…. if SS wins then it wasn`t covered and it was left to run for 100% profit. But when SS loses, then surprise surprise it was covered and decent profit was still made. Whatever!!
If an SS loser is always covered, then it stands to reason that the winners were covered when the team were in a good position,so not 100% profit for the 1/1 odds.

And of course you can’t always cover – I never said that. I couldn’t cover last night’s which is the problem when it’s a double. At the end of the day I’ve put up the real p/l figure anyway.
To be honest I lose about 25% of winning bets due to covering, and about the same in saving losing bets.

Can people please stop arguing about who has won what. Who gives a toss? People can pretend to be in profit or admit losses but bottom line is who gives a f*ck? Raal I agree mate with all that. Also I agree about this tournement being very poor in quality and i find its not normally this bad. Having said that we only need a Tunisia draw or win in there final game and that gives us a group winner bet plus Algeria as you say are still in with a shout if winning it. I for one had a great start to the month and I have continued with level stakes but this week has halved my months profits . It’s starting to make me question the location of my nose as I would struggle to pick that correctly at the minute. :-)

Bottom line is people who claim to show big profits when they are clearly losing are either very heavy losers or suffer from inferiority complexes but either way it is pathetic to have to read these claims and it just makes them look ridiculous. If I win I win if I lose I lose and either way I will get up the next day and get on with my life without trying to be the big I am.

It was a combination of around 6-8 months winning bets Jordan that I kept putting on him as PP held the odds and it totalled a decent amount mate and I had no doubt it was a great investment but reckoned it would land mid to late 2015 so January was a bonus.

When the stats hits criteria 1 (as is today) I go my daily max (10’points) I never do more than a double so for today I’ve got 4 doubles (a combination of my tips) at 2.5points each. I tend to lump my stronger % together so for today the 2 at 150% are as a double as is the two 130% ones.
If it’s crtieria 2 which is a bit more loose settings when there is no criteira 1 then it’s the same doubles but 1 point only.

Well to be honest I didn’t like the super single at first and a few made me change my mind and I’m glad they did. The referee seemed like he didn’t really want to dish any cards out at all. The 3 cards he did give out were just awful fouls and deserved cards.
