I CAUTIOUSLY picked my way through a cup minefield and landed both Wednesday bets.
Greg Browning's nap came up as it usually does but his doubles didn't trap.
My Super Single was East Kilbride to win and I posted it before reports Lothian Thistle wouldn't have a keeper. In the end they played No.2 Byron Gibb who probably wasn't fully fit and at fault for EK's late second.
That second helped bring up my 23-10 Top Treble which also featured Juventus not to lose at Lazio and Athletic Bilbao to score at home Barcelona which they managed a minute from time.
I tentatively tipped Spurs to win at Leicester in the FA Cup and advised Liverpool -1 at home to Exeter after Jurgen Klopp named a stronger than expected team.
There's little to look at tonight with Valencia v Las Palmas and Sevilla v Mirandes in the Spanish Cup quarter-final first legs. Gary Neville's has been fielding strong teams in the cup possibly because he has still to win a league game and his men thrashed Granada 7-0 on aggregate in the last round.
It was 1-1 at the Mestalla when the sides met in November and while I'd favour the home at 8-13 with Ladbrokes and William Hill a better could be both to score at 39-40 with BetVictor as long as Las Palmas field a strong side – they have netted in seven of their last eight road trips.
Sevilla are on a good run of four wins in a row and are a best 1-4 with William Hill to beat second-tier Mirandes who knocked out a weakened Deportivo in the previous round and Malaga home and away before that.
However, Sevilla have been almost unstoppable in all competitions at home while not winning in La Liga away and they'll be keen to wrap up this up over the first leg.
I thought about Sevilla -1 but instead for the Super Single I'm doubling them to win with St Etienne at home to Ajaccio in the French Cup. This is Ligue 2 strugglers Ajaccio as opposed to the Ligue 1 version and having strengthened their side in the window the favourites should run out easy winners.
St Etienne have bough Rosenborg striker Alexander Soderlund, top scorer in Norway last season and Oussane Tannane from Heracles. I don't if either will feature tonight but their squad has more depth than that of their visitors.
I looked at Gent v Bruges in the first leg of their Belgian Cup semi-final and that's a tight one. It's first v second although Gent have held the upperhand in recent meetings with four wins and two draws. With it being a first leg it will be probably be cautious with Gent maybe winning by one.
There are a few Turkish Cup games and while Fenerbahce should beat Tuzlaspor without much fuss the giants have already qualified from their groups and will field a much-weakened side.

Gary Neville’s appointment at Valencia was a strange one for me as well as the majority of the football world I imagine. It must be difficult for an English manager to go to Spain as his first coaching role more than a foreign manager in England with experience, so fair play to him, but he is already facing heat as he is yet to pick up a win in La Liga. He has however managed three consecutive wins in the Copa del Rey, beating Granada by 7-0 on aggregate (4-0 at home and 3-0 away). Granada sit one place below tonights opponents Las Palmas who knocked out Eibar in the last round, but it came with a touch of luck with Eibar having two players sent off late in the first leg at home which led to Las Palmas snatching a winner in injury time. They were also fortunate in their home tie with Eibar scoring an own goal. Neville has played fairly strong sides in his cup games with Negredo starting in all three. Las Palmas haven’t kept a clean sheet away from home all season, and with their four goals shipped in the last two ties against Eibar, I think Valencia will be able to notch a couple of goals themselves. I’ve watched Nevilles press conference and he was talking about the fight they put up to come back from behind twice on the weekend and get a draw, despite it being against the Vallecano side who shipped 10 goals at the Bernabeu last month. Team news is uncertain but I expect Neville to go fairly strong in what is an important quarter final.

Yes id say 1.5 fh goals very realistic they should hit 4+ themselves seeing what their capable of. All sides are top have beaten Shabab with ease. Only reason away form looks reasonable is from who they’ve played in those 4 games. The one they lost away was salmi ya who are 2nd at start of season and lost 3-0.

Valencias last 3 home games have seen 16,13 and 11 respectively with opposition sides actually out scoring them on the corner front. My suggestion to help grow the pots would be to stake more on Mr F’s SS and my NAP as these are our most confidant selections! What your’ll find is due to tha amount you are staking on other bets there’s little or no profit being generayed if the NAP / SS wins but the other bet(s) lose
For my NAP I’d always Aim to generate profit regardless if the Non nap bets lose or at worst cover the stakes for the day

Its not the African Cup of Nations its the African Nations Championship, which is a totally different tournament.
The reason there’s no big name call ups is as follows:
Each squad can contain a maximum of 23 players. Only national team players who are playing in their country’s own domestic league are eligible to compete in the tournament. For example, a Rwandan player is only eligible to play for the Rwanda national team if he is playing for a Rwandan club.
