THE first big card if 2016 looks a tough one. As usual I've gone through the fixtures with the RFO by my side and picked out teams I like.
This is done by looking at recent form, head to heads, league stats and positions but what the RFO don't have is a weather forecast and that could be important this weekend.
These are my initial thoughts at bets over evens without looking at team news which I will do when the headache eases sometime tomorrow afternoon.
Let's hear your own thoughts and why any of my picks should be discarded.

Looking forward to 2nd Jan
Already placed a nice double on
Watford +1.5 Asian handicap
Swansea +1.5 Asian handicap
Pays 11/10
Watford have not lost by more than one goal in their last 5 matches and after their 3-0 defeat to Leicester Swansea have not lost by more than one in 4 games plus they always turn it on against United.
Happy new year Mr f
In the English National League Southport and Halifax look decent prices to me at 3/1 and 19/10 respectively, with Southport available at 21/20 on the Double Chance. Both teams have gone on decent runs since changing managers and won these same fixtures away from home 1-0 a couple of weeks ago.
stoke looks the best out the lot looking like a good side.west brom at home can be tricky but if olsson is out then stoke looks a good super single.
just a wee heads up for sat, hard to find a bit of value in rangers game but rangers to win both halves looks very temping at 13/8 on wh
knew it was too good to be true just went to put the bet on and its 4/5 now
johnwilliams, seen you’ve went for albion to win against Airdrie on sat hopefully you are correct I’m going to the game (if its on) with a few people in work that follow them, will be a first for me and looking forward to it……….. wee day oot……….. ;)
Dover vs Welling BTTS Yes – 10/11
To reinforce the previous comment from Miniduffman, Both Southport and Halifax are excellent value. Southport’s 5 match form reads 5-0-0, whilst opponents Wrexham are 2-0-3. The visitors have only scored 4 in that run with the home side banging in 12. PP go 11/4 and thats looks huge. Same applies at Halifax who are on 3-2-0 in their 5 match form, visitors Lincoln are 0-2-3. The home win is priced at 17/10 and looks another big price. I’m on both with singles and a double.
Yes all those singles look good but WBA are a hard nut to crack for S/S I prefer to stick with a home Motherwell or Leeds for me.Dundee will never have a better chance v UTD.W.Ham look big at 3/1 v Liverpool as Reds cant be trusted .
If you can find a better supersingle than Northampton with the best home record at home to Barnet with the worst away record then id like to hear it Mr F. Home win at around evens all firms is a standout and ill be all over it like a fat lad on chips, has to be taken doesnt it Mr F??? ;)
u2me413, Northampton are one of my homes.
I quite like FLEETWOOD AT 7/5. Their home form has been pretty solid of late and BURY have lost their last 6 on the road. Before their defeat to Wigan FWOOD had won 3 out of 4 at home, beating some in form teams Burton (4-0) Swindon (5-1) and Millwall (2-1).
I think Middlesborough (13/10) can make home advantage count and see of title challengers Derby, they are so solid at the Riverside 1 goal is usually enough for 3 points
