ENGLAND are boosted by the return from injury of pace bowler James Anderson today as the second Test with South Africa gets under way.
England took the honours in the first Test with a classy victory and are now favourites to win the four-match series at 4-7 with Sportingbet while the hosts have drifted to 9-2 at bet365.

Thats the only danger I think if Anderson dominates him. That said Klaasen is a prolific 180 hitter, and also seems to be producing such great clutch shots at the moment, so he should give Anderson a good game. Worry I have for him and Barney is that they have been in such close games and beaten big opposition that it may have taken it out of them

Yesterday’s bet was a treble with 2 coming in and one team getting destroyed so that handicap was blown out of the water early on. Managed to make a profit on the day thanks to the Stanford game and a couple of late TD’s in the 4th Quarter. Needed another score on the last drive to make it a verb good day but a fumble at the end ruined that.
My bet for the college football today is Georgia -6 (10/11) The SEC teams have been the far superior teams so far this bowl season. And I don’t see much threat coming from the Penn St offences led by Hackenburg, who’s got a good arm but he’s prone to a few sacks. I fancy Georgia running game to overwhelm the Penn St defence and think it could at least be a 2 TD gap come the end of the game at least.

I like the unders in this game….
Krka is playing an average under 140 ppg in this ABA league but the guets have good enough offence to put up 80 points in this game. Union Olimpija were a high scoring team in the Eurocup this season and they are a high scoring team. They have to play like this also in ABA league now so I’d expect this to go over here.
I’m about to post a longshot fourfold which has good potential for unders….you may want to use that instead but the over 145.5 does look good.

Anderson has won his last six matches against Klaasen but they’ve certainly not been routs. The scores were 2-0 (sets), 9-5, 6-1, 4-3 (sets), 6-5 and 10-6. The match of interest here is the 4-3 sets 2nd round victory at last years World Championship. Anderson was perilously close to being eliminated as Klaasen raced into a 3-1 lead but he fought back to win 4-3 by taking out an 84 on the bull with Klaasen waiting on 89 for the match. It finished with twenty 180’s between the pair with both averaging over 100. In this years tournament Anderson has only dropped two sets on route to the semi finals. Against Gurney he hit eight 180’s winning 4-1, against Van der Voort seven 180’s winning 4-0 and against Wade ten 180’s winning 5-1. Klaasen is very similar to MVG in the sense that when he is bang on form he can be relentless and he will pound the treble twenty bed to score heavily. Also he is excellent at cover shooting on treble 19 and 18 which maintains his heavy scoring when his first dart doesn’t lie right in the 20 segment. I think given the new length of first to six sets and the fact that Klaasen has been in losing positions in his last three matches, Anderson will win. However Klaasen’s scoring cant be ignored so I think just as Gurney and Wade took a set of him, Klaasen will very likely take at least two, espeacially on his throw.
Peter Wright, Chisnal and Klaasen himself have all hit fourteen or more 180’s in a match so far and Anderson should follow suit tonight as sets are likely to be closely contested. Many of these sets could go to deciding legs and with the increased length of best of eleven sets it opens up more opportunities for maximums to be scored.
All of the remaining players in the tournament are capable of and have threatened 9 darters in matches. However I feel if its going to happen this year then it will be in Anderson vs Klaasen tonight. Anderson threatened two in the same match against Gurney hitting eight perfect darts with a wired 12 and repeated the feat yesterday against Wade. Klaasen also had the chance against Taylor and Norris after hitting two sucessive maximums in each.
Lewis should win the 180 contest against Barney due to his superior throwing technique. It is a very effective action which often sees his darts very closely bunched together in the treble twenty bed. Barney throws with less power but most of his big scores come in the way of 140’s. Lewis hit eight 180’s against Wright in his 5-2 win and Barney hit eight against Smith in the 5-4 victory where all sets where required. Barney fell behind against Smith 3-0 and if a similar occurance was to happen tonight I cant see him being able to catch Lewis who will continue to pepper the treble twenty bed and use cover shots to great effect. Either way its quite likely Lewis will win the 180 contest here.

No problem mate. I considered that bet but decided against it because when playing Mervin King he did’nt achieve his line of seven 180’s due to switching down to 19’s. Also there is the risk that if Anderson plays really well he might literally run out of time to get them.

3 from 4 on the singles. All 3 very comfortable but my instinct let me down with the 4th.
Have only just had time to look at the bowl games happening tonight. Missed out on the Georgia game, but looks like Aldave has got that covered.
Took Oregon -3 and Arkansas -7 on alternative handicaps pays 1.16/1. This is the bet with a fair few bob on it.
Also took Oregon -9 and Arkansas -14 for 3.51/1 with some loose change.
Calling the Arkansas game is quite easy, I actually thought they would have a much better season than they have had. Well coached and a well rounded offense behind apparently the nation’s largest O-line. K-State has been fairly disappointing this season, never really settled on the starting QB and leaning heavily on Kody Cook a WR who has also played QB for the Wildcats. Think the Razorbacks will outscore the Wildcats.
The Oregon game is slightly harder with the things happening in the past week. TCU’s starting QB Boykin was arrested for felony assault (WTF?) and Vernon Adams (QB) will finally be healthy for the Ducks. The Ducks will also be without their offensive coordinator who is now a headcoach at UCF. Boykin should be heavily missed with the team having a month to prepare for this game with him under centre. No doubt the game will be high scoring but think Ducks will win this one and cover at least -3.
P.S. Oregon and Arkansas both to cover the spread and both games to go over pays 12/1.

Sorry only now seeing that last comment. The problem with the overs bet that high is of they get off to a slow start like a few bowl games the last couple of days it’s a tough ask there after. But we could end up with another Baylor situation where TCU just go all out on the run game and somehow make it work and get TD’s nearly every drive. If I tend to bet on an Overs market I wait until a few plays into the game. Unless it’s massively underpriced.
