Newbury 4:00
Second Thought hasn't run since May but that run was a second behind Harry Angel. That win by Harry Angel was so good that it prompted Sheikh Mohammed to buy him.
Second Thought has never been out the first two with four wins and two seconds with his best run being behind Harry Angel in a Group 2. He does have a break to come back from but he is the one to beat
Newbury 5:05
Crushed was a good winner for us last tim so hopefully he can double up here, Georgina Cox was on him for that win and she gets on here again. Crushed is up in grade here and from a 6lb higher mark but he is improving and can improve again.
It was the manner of his victory last time that stands out, he ran very freely but instead of fighting him Georgina Cox let him bowl along into a 2-3 length lead.
He then got carried right across to the far side rail by another horse but that probably helped him having the rail there and he went on to win by a comfortable 2 1/2 lengths, with another 2 1/2 lengths back to the third horse.

Friday at Newton Abbot has a two horse race, nothing unusual about that as we have had plenty of two horse races through the years
However, the 2:00 at Newton Abbot sees Diego Du Charmil race against Bagad Bihoue which just happens to be two Paul Nicholls horses
Diego Du Charmil 4/9 should win but Bagad Bihoue 15/8 has some okay chase form which could be an advantage
Although it’s a bit of a farce that this can be allowed to happen, it could be interesting and at least the horses have different owners
I have been told on more than one occasion by people who indulge in such things (and there are websites who also pay trainers) that stable info from Paul Nicholls yard is not worth paying for as ” he has never pulled a horse in his life” GL
pulling a horse sounds a bit sordid to me.
I wouldn’t say “never” as there are subtle ways of doing things, pulling a horse is frowned upon, nowadays it’s just racing the horse on ground and distance that doesn’t suit, like I have always said though I don’t mind it as owners should give themselves the best possible chance to make money
