NORMAL NORMAN (1.50) is the best bet on an all-hurdles card at Musselburgh. One doesn’t see too many sons of Shamardal running over obstacles at the East Lothian track and John Ryan’s gelding will appreciate the good ground after scoring in style at Market Rasen.
THE RESDEV WAY (12.45) beat Swordbill at Catterick on the level and probably found 2m 2f too sharp at Stratford over hurdles last month. This longer trip should suit and trainer Phil Kirby is in rampant form.
LORD FENDALE (3.30) was beaten a head by Mauricio at Southwell and fourth horse Lazarus scored at Huntingdon on Sunday. Tim Vaughan’s gelding is capable of conceding weight all round.
At Nottingham, DEBATABLE (3.50) is quite an attractive price to recover losses when a beaten favourite at Yarmouth. The good to firm ground may not have been ideal as she had been impressive when scoring there the previous week on good to soft and Becky Smith is one of our best lady amateur riders.
