JIM GOLDIE has his Uplawmoor string in good fettle and ORIENTAL LILY (6.45) can outrun her odds in the 6f handicap at Newcastle.

Goldie has a fine record on the all-weather track and Oriental Lily has won no less than four times on Tyneside. She has been campaigned over seven furlongs and a mile on the turf recently but is probably better at this sprint trip.

She is on a winning mark and Jamie Gormley takes off 3lb. Oriental Lily is best coming late off a fast pace and well-fancied Twilight often goes to the front, so a decent clip looks likely. With eight runners declared, Oriental Lily is a tempting each-way bet.

At Warwick, FINLEY’S EYES (2.30) has been suffering from a bout of seconditis (I know the feeling well) but he ran long odds-on shot Lungarno Palace to a neck at Stratford last month. Dan Skelton’s gelding also ran well in defeat over course and distance in May when chasing home Telegraph Palace.

Recommended bets

  • Newcastle 6.45 – Oriental Lily ew (6-1, Racebets)
  • Warwick 2.30 – Finley’s Eyes (4-1, Racebets)

No problem . Not trying to be perceived as a ‘legend’.
I love horse racing and the thread, so happy to contribute in anyway I can.

Thanks for the praise all the same, but it’s not needed 🍻👍

Wish everyone kept monthly points totals it really helps us guys who follow.
I undersand it takes up time so some cant do it. Gl today everyone.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

I don’t advise contributors to keep points – just causes hassle at the end of the day.
If you see a tip check it out yourself and then back it if you like what you see.
Alan Thomson doesn’t put up points but everyone knows he does well.
