ICARIO (3.35) has been raised 3lb for his course and distance success at Redcar 18 days ago but that may not be enough to prevent a follow-up.
The former Gordon Elliott winning hurdler has adapted well to his new surroundings and stays this 1m 6f trip strongly.
AWAKE MY SOUL (2.25), another course and distance winner, bids to repeat last year’s success in the 1m 2f handicap. The top weight arrives here on the back of a York success 24 days ago and always runs well in the autumn when the ground turns soft.
POWER HOME (2.50) can go one better than last year when runner-up in this event. She posted a fine second at Lingfield only five days ago and is clearly in good form.

Just watched 1st 2 races down under. It’s honking down with rain so looks like you will need a proper soft ground horse in the Melbourne cup.

torolight has a 4lbs swing with royal dancer, adam kirby also steps off royal dancer to ride torolight, however he was beaten 3.75l, however it was his h’cap debut. there isn’t much to go on in this race from paper sources, and given it is in 5 minutes i best be brief. i dont like to bet on tom marquand but i will stick with the top weight in small stakes entertainment. jason watson takes over on kahina who was dropped 2lbs. purgatory 3/1 1800w.
