THE BetVictor Gold Cup at Cheltenham takes centre stage in today's busy racing card.

There's also racing from the likes of Lingfield, Wetherby and Wolverhampton today and Thommo's tips have now been added.

Cheltenham 2.25

RATHER BE has won on his seasonal debut for the past three years and is fancied to continue that sequence in the feature BetVictor Gold Cup. Nicky Henderson’s gelding is 9lb better with Mister Whitaker for his head defeat at the Cheltenham Festival and Rather Be is just preferred to Baron Alco, fighting fit following a terrific comeback run at Chepstow.

Cheltenham 1.50

SINGLEFARMPAYMENT (1.50) has plenty of form around Prestbury Park and ground conditions will be ideal. He found the track riding too testing (heavy) when fifth to Coo Star Sivola at the Festival in March but bounced back the following month when beaten a head by Another Hero back at Cheltenham over 3m 2f.

Cheltenham 3.0

WEEBILL (3.00) faces a stiff task on his handicap debut but scored with authority in novice company at Fakenham and Ayr. Amy Murphy’s six-year-old remains unexposed and wants good ground.

Cheltenham 3.30

POINT OF PRINCIPLE (3.30) can reward an each-way interest in the 2m 5f handicap hurdle. Tim Vaughan has an improving five-year-old on the evidence of Point Of Principle’s excellent second in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow last month. Third horse Whatmore won with plenty in hand on Wednesday to give the form a timely boost.

Lingfield 2.45

ADDEYBB (2.45) makes his first all-weather appearance in the Betway Churchill Stakes, a Listed contest over 1m 2f. Although outclassed behind Roaring Lion in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot last month, this year’s Lincoln Handicap winner will welcome the return to calmer waters.

Lingfield 3.15

GIFTED MASTER (3.15) showed blistering early speed to overcome a very wide draw to land last year’s running of the Betway Golden Rose Stakes. Hugo Palmer’s gelding again has the services of James Doyle.

Well done to all the winners yesterday

Just trying a couple in the BVGC

    Benetar 9/1 ew b365 5 places

Form took a huge boost this week when Kemboy rated 159 won well during the week. Kemboy was 2 1/2L behind Benetar in the JLT of levels so a mark of 149 for today gives him a real chance here.

Romain De Senam 25/1 ew 7 places pp

5th last year and carry 7lbs less this year. Has had 2 runs this campaign so should be in prime condition
