GENOA let the Super Single down by failing to score against Sampdoria and once again I paid for not going with my gut feeling.

Monday's Super Single in the Daily Record was under 2.5 goals at Man City v Chelsea and while I recommended it on the site I shied away when it came to putting up the top tips.

So backing the Super Single to £10 level stakes you'd be £11.40 down this month – but that can be wiped out tonight.

After checking team news I'm going with the concensus on the site and backing Bristol City to beat Coventry at home in League One.

Coventry have been battling against the odds all season, starting on -10 points and playing home matches at Northampton. And it just got tougher for boss Steven Pressley who lost top scorer Leon Clarke to Wolves on transfer deadline day.

He is also without injured Callum Wilson who had formed a great partnership up with Clarke and key midfielder John Fleck is also out. Pressley admits he's looking to bring in a couple of strikers on loan and has been boosted by the arrival of midfielder Nathan Delfouneso from Aston Villa.

Coventry's form has dipped with no wins in four while after playing in losing away to title contenders Wolves and Brentford, City beat Carlisle at home at the weekend to move out of the drop zone.

The Robins have improved under Steve Cotterill who took over in November and their strike options have been boosted by the signing of Peterborough's Tyrone Barnett.

This finished 5-4 to Coventry at Sixfields but the visitors looking short up front it may not be the goalfest expected. City are by no means a banker but I fancy their chances.

For the Top Treble I'm starting with Fulham who I have tipped to beat Sheffield Utd in their FA Cup replay on another thread. I'm hoping boss Rene Meulensteen is true to his word when he says he'll field a strong team and if they do Fulham should be comfortable winners.

Add Dutch cracks Vitesse who will go top of the table with a win at home to AZ. Vitesse are unbeaten in 12 and face a side with just two away wins all season.

Stay in Holland to complete the treble with Feyenoord at Roda. Feyenoord trail leaders Ajaz by seven points but can still get in the title mix if they go on a winning run.

They have won four and drawn one of their last five visits to Roda and beat them 4-0 at home earlier this season. Roda lie third bottom and have won just one of their last eight.

PSG should beat Nantes in the French League Cup but have a massive league game against title rivals Monaco at the weekend so it will be worth checking the strength of their line-up before considering backing them at 8-15 with Ladbrokes.

Udinese face Fiorentina in the first leg of Coppa Italia. Oor man from Napoli is wary about two-legged affairs but if pressed would side with Udinese who need a cup success more than their opponents.

Couple of games for tomorrow gents!

    Bristol City v Covernty
    Macclesfield v Chester

Both home teams are tough to beat on their own patch with city unbeaten in 5 and Macclesfield on a terrific run if 11 wins and three draws from their last 14 at home! Fancy both teams to win but going to focus on goals!

    Fulham v Sheff U

As Mr F said these two have more pressing matters but Fukham should progress! For them to score 2 loos a decent price and should come in!

Back over 1.5 Birstil city teams goals 11/10
Over 1.5 Macclesfield team goals 4/5
Over 1.5 Fulham team goals 8/11

There are three Durch league matches all of which look like the could be over 2.5! Worth. A small treble!

Only just realized the way you spelt Fulham Greg, got to say it made me laugh :)

Not a good start to the week, but it was so close in Northern Ireland, just one more goal was needed! Never mind, we move onto Tuesday and let’s get this back on track!

    WEEKLY SUMMARY:

    STAKE – 2pts
    RETURN – 0pts

    BRISTOL CITY V COVENTRY 7:45pm

I see Greg has already picked this one out too, but it’s good to get some confirmation and when it’s from Greg, that’s a double bonus! Bristol City have hit 2 or more in each of their last 3 home matches scoring 8 goals in that time and need to win this one to keep up their fight against the drop. Coventry have conceded 2 or more in 3 of their last 6 away matches and have conceded 2 or more in 7 of their last 12 League One matches. In their last two meetings, City have scored 7 goals including 4 in a 5-4 defeat at Coventry (well Northampton really) earlier in the season. There should be goals here and I’m backing Bristol City to bag at least two at 11/10.

    LINCOLN CITY V NUNEATON 7:45pm

I’m looking at Lincoln’s last 3 home matches which has 4-1, 2-2 and 3-1 scorelines and then looking at Nuneaton’s away record which the last three have read 2-1, 3-0 and 2-1. I’m going to back this sequence to continue in two ways here. Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 2-1 to Lincoln and a similar scoreline is on the cards here. Lincoln over 1.5 team goals pays 11/10 and Lincoln to win and over 2.5 match goals pays 13/5. I’m all over both of those bets at these prices.

    TIPS:
Bristol City over 1.5 team goals – 11/10
Lincoln City over 1.5 team goals – 11/10
Lincoln City to win and over 2.5 match goals – 13/5

Just the three tips from the two matches but I’d rather keep it small and not chase any losses. Best of luck as ever!

    Yesterday was a good day.

I put on here to back SP lisbon II@evens and had SP lisbon II to score 1.5 goals wich was just iver evens also had city v chelsea BTTS no.
So 3/3 yesterday hope todays the same

  4. Mark1976 10 years ago

On a quiet card tomorrow I thought it appropriate to mention corner bets. Fiorentina is a team I have been watching closer as far as corner bets go as they are 85% reliable for numerous corners usually around seven and more so when they play at home. Unfortunately they are away but I still fancy plenty of corners here, I would look at the race to 3 corners at 1/1 race to 5 at 6/4 and a smaller stake on race to 7 at a tasty 3/1 and also over 10 match corners at 1/1. I would feel a lot more confident if fiorentina were at home but never the less at these prices I feel they are too good to miss if you can’t resist a flutter on a quieter midweek coupon, good luck if choose to have a bet as I will.

    Going for a treble tonight:

    Halifax to beat Salisbury (EVS)

Great home record against poor away record here. Halifax are in a bit of a slump but they have played a few away games where they are nowhere near as good.

    Cliftonville to beat Ballymena (8/13)

Cliftonville have won the last seven meetings between the sides and I can’t see anything changing here. Ballymena’s home record is decent, and I can’t see Cliftonville demolishing them as they have in the past but I think they should still win.

Aldershot to beat Havant and W. (5/6)

This game was very close to being in my BTTS and Win Yankee. Aldershot have scored at least 3 in their last 3 FA Trophy games and are no strangers to finding the net. Unfortunetly they are no strangers to conceding aswell, and Havant have been performing well recently. Aldershot should still have enough to see them off. I think we’re looking at a 2-1/3-1 victory.

    Treble Pays 4.92/1

    BTTS and Win Yankee:

    Feyenoord to beat Roda JC

I put Feyenoord to win and BTTS up a couple of games ago, and, while both teams scored, Feyenoord lost the game. I’m backing a reversal in fortunes here. Feyenoord concede in most of their away games so there should be a good chance of both teams scoring.

    Vitesse to beat AZ

Once again i’m looking in a change of fortunes – Vitesse haven’t beaten AZ in their last eight matches. Six of the last seven have seen both teams score and with Vitesse performing so well this season, and AZ having such a poor away record, I’m happy backing Vitesse to win.

    Bristol City to beat Coventry

This game has already been covered – both teams are no strangers to scoring and conceding goals. Initially I wasn’t sure who I would pick to win this game, but I believe Coventry have lost their top scorer in Leon Clarke and reading Alex’s post i’m backing Bristol City to win here. Just for the game to go over 2.5 Goals in 10/11 and I’ll be taking that as a single.

    Macclesfield to beat Chester

I expect Macclesfield to win here. Chester won the reverse fixture, and Macclesfield will be hoping to return the favour. Chester aren’t great away from home, and haven’t scored too many either, but it just seems like the kind of game they will score in. This is more on gut feeling than stats, but anyone can score a goal. Macclesfield just to win is 10/11 and I think i’ll be taking that in a single aswell.

    Fourfold pays around 135/1.

    Good luck today everyone.

Straightforward double Fulham & Coveney wins @ just over 4/1. Fulham is a gimme due only to poor opposition form and I don’t see where B City will get the goals from and Coventry will score

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

King, I actually agree with the likes of Greg and think Bristol City will win. They signed a striker in Tyrone Barnett while Coventry sold top scorer Leon Clarke to Wolves.

  9. Troy 10 years ago

Sorry Paul – I was so busy at work yesterday I didn’t get a chance to post but I was going to say put your mortgage on Woking……..The players were fresh and they had just brought in Marriott and Rendell (Strikers) back in on loan. Kieran Murtagh has also arrived from Mansfield and incidentally he scored last night! Definitely consider them in your next selection over the weekend. On their day they are as good as anyone and now with those three players expect more victories than losses.

I will look at today’s fixtures and see if I can see any valuable team news.

I have to say the weekend just gone was horrendous for BTTS and Win! I didn’t even come close.

Alex – Do you fancy Bristol City to win?

  13. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

Not such a fan of two leg cup ties, but Udinese have impressed with their desire for this event. Fiorentina have had a long season with the europa and coppa and league games playing with a injury prone squad.
I cant make a choice until the squads are out but I would not rule out a win for Udi.
Definately must win this tie as their president demands they reach the final and Guidolin is at risk with his job if they fail here and lose a couple in league. Gianfranco Zola’s name was spinning around that post.
Udi will go for it anyway, hardly just going to sit back and Fiorentina are going to want to control the pace so tactics, as per, will be king.

Can’t really see much value in the socceroo game. They obviously can’t score for toffee and only managed to tuck one against PSG after they suffered a red card. After being strong last season Green Archers have had a shaky start. Odds just aren’t giving the value.

At a push I’d go for a double of Archers to win (they should kick into gear at some point) and also race to 5 corners. Gives odds of 1.8ish

    Hi,

    Today Lithuania basketball league
    Nevezis – Tonybet
pick tonybet win odds are 1,37
Nevezis is really struggling lately, and today their second best scorer Siksnius left team and went to Tonybet, but he still won’t play.

Lincoln to beat Nuneaton (BTTS and Win)

    Stallions v Loyola KO 11.30am

It’s been a funny start to the Phillipine league and despite being 4 matches in it’s been difficult to work out who to back! ( i.e the match being played now is 4-1 the archers) Stallions were last years champions but have struggled this season! Although did beat Kaya 1-0 in their last match! Loyala on the other hand have been by far the most impressive side winning all 4 games scoring 16 conceding just once! I’m tempted to back The visitors at a good price but I’m a bit wary if stallions after their last result! It’s a high scoring team v a low scoring team, but I think with stallions wining last week this isn’t as clear cut as it is on paper! I’m going to take a chance on goals in this match but would advise small stakes! Can see both teams scoring and that gives us half a chance! This is probably Loyola toughest task so far! This will tell us a lot of how the season will ona out for these two but given Loyals goal scoring exploits so dad, there could be goals!

Back over 1.5 First Half goals
    Over 3.5 match goals

At 6-1 with just minutes left to play I think I can safely say it’s in the bag! Socceroo must dive more than Tom Daley as Green Archers have also conceded a red card.

At a push I’d go for a double of Archers to win (they should kick into gear at some point) and also race to 5 corners. Gives odds of 1.8ish”

Watched the first half of the Skonto Riga v Ventspilis game. Even game, not many chances and Ventspilis were 4/1 double chance so had the punt. They then took the lead early on in the second half. As the game went it was looking a sure thing until the 90th minute when they equalised and blow me less than 30 secs after that there bloke is bundled over – penalty given and within a minute a double chance bet absolutely blown out of the water.
Going to be one of them days.

  27. Scott "The Cat" 10 years ago

    Stallions v Loyola KO 11.30am

After Greg’s write up on this and some swift research myself I’m finding it difficult to come to a decent conclusion. The dodgy start to the season has scuppered most stats for previous H2H and previous seasons performance.

Given Greg’s confidence on goals and the fact that Loyola have tucked a few away lately, with stallion perhaps finding some sort of shooting boots after their win last week I’m going to go for small stakes on another double.

Over 2.5 match goals and over 8.5 corners at odds of 2.6.

Hopefully Goals = lots of attacks = lots of corners. But I can’t get hold of any stats on corners so I’m going out on a limb here, and taking into account the high corners in the Socceroo match fingers crosses it will come in

No – I’m on Coventry as well. I was reading their forum earlier and it stated the team are pretty poor apart from BALDOCK and THOMAS up front! On the other hand Cov have signed on loan or permanently MARSHALL, Nathan Delfouneso and the lad from Celtic who played in the Champions League!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Troy, the Celtic boy you refer to is Dylan McGeouch who is a good prospect but hardly played in the Champions League. I believe he’s injured anyway. Defouneso should be a good signing but he’s not a striker and neither is Marshall. Pressley says he needs two strikers and they may struggle until he gets them. Bristol City have brought in Barnett who could be decent for them.

  45. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

    Udi v Fio
Prefer knockout or second leg games to gauge.
Udi can afford to take the game over two. They have only league commitments.
Fiorentina may fancy a win in this game as europa will begin again soon and if they cant secure a goal or two here they will need to field another strong team for second leg..the games are piling up for the top teams except Roma.
Both teams want the cup. Montella wont lose his job if they lose. Guidolin could ; that is enough desire alone. Both teams will start with their best 11.

Guidolin could be the better tactician tonight. Udinese beat Inter/AC to get here by 1-0 and 2-1
Montellas fiorentina have beat chievo 2-0 and siena 2-1 so not quite as distinguished in their kills as Udinese.

Fiorentina may want to bury this game in the first leg but i think Udi will prove to be a pain in the rump with tactics and come out with a narrow win and keep Guidolin just above water.

  57. Yesevil 10 years ago

As a lot of people are tipping Vitesse and Fulham tonight, I wondered what people thought was a better double.
    Both over 1.5 team goals @ 1.64/1
    Or
    Both to win @ 1.69/1

I know both to win is ever so slightly higher, but wondered which would be safer in this communities opinion?

  58. Damo 10 years ago

Another wee treble I’ll be on, not going to put up stats, but there’s been plenty of goals for all teams involved recently!

    Histon Vs Boston
    Altrincham Vs Telford
    Bishops Stortford Vs Staines

    All over 2.5 goals
    3.71/1

  59. Yesevil 10 years ago

Mr F, any idea why my posts are now showing in yellow as moderation preview?
I have never sworn or been offensive when posting on here

  61. raaljaca 10 years ago

    BRISTOL CITY V COVENTRY CITY

    ADO DEN HAAG V HERACLES

    RODA JC V FEYENOORD

    ————————————-

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE TREBLE PAYS 5/2

    ————————————-

The reasoning behind my highly recommended treble is having done hours of research and satisfying myself that these sides meet my incredibly high ‘quite possibly can bag at least a goal in an hour and a half’ criteria I have deduced that all six teams will stick the ball in the old ‘onion bag’ at sometime during this evenings entertainment. Having used my special ‘they are all going to score’ formula I can now proceed to advising all you good good people out there that if indeed the formula proves correct, which it will, then the previously advised ‘both teams to score’ treble is guaranteed to land ;)

I do small stakes on your SS Mr F but for obvious reasons not today! I really cannot call this today. If Moussa and Baker are on form we will control thr midfield and hopefully with Delfouneso in the team with his experience could bag a goal or 2! For me over 2.5 total goals is a decent bet @17/20 and added it in a double with Fulham over 1.5 goals. Good luck and hope we give your SS a tough time

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Stomin, on the site it’s 50-50 for Bristol City and Coventry. It’s not a banker bet as I’ve said and Bristol City are only slight favourites.

    Lincoln v Nuneaton Evs

    Pays just over 4’s.

Sorry if im being daft please excuse me Im new to this betting lark.

    My SS for the day

    Udinese v Fiorentina

Under 2.5 goals x 4-6 cards @21/10 with William Hill

  80. Horsing Around 10 years ago

Alex, a dark day for The FA. Carroll appeal dismissed.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Horsing, I do think Flores was a disgrace but Carroll did come down from the initial challenge and began to spin round with his arm outstretched. Carroll is big enough and old enough to know that any contact with an outstretched arm or hand can result in a sending off and Flores reaction becomes irrelevant once any contact is made.

    • Horsing Around 10 years ago

But the point now is will Chico be given a ban for conning the ref with his cheating? If not, it sends out all the wrong signals in trying to stop cheating in the game.

    • honda 10 years ago

At the end of the day Carrol whacked him in the head with his arm, he made a meal of it but that’s what happened. Making dramatics or a meal of things will never change in Europe so it’s almost certainly never going to change here seeming as most players in the prem are from there. These things are common practice in the other leagues as is imaginary card waving…

    • Horsing Around 10 years ago

Honda, with all due respects, I don’t care about other leagues in European football.

    • honda 10 years ago

      Haha, fair enough mate!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Horsing, I think the fact that there was a degree of contact means Flores cannot be punished for his over reaction. All that happens is he makes himself look a complete idiot in the eyes of all football supporters. Where deliberate ‘divers’ etc are concerned there is a very very simple solution to get rid of most of it and that is to give 3 game bans to any player who is found to have taken a deliberate dive whether the ref calls it right or not. If a player goes down and the referee awards a free kick or penalty the player concerned can be banned by TV evidence. There have been plenty of incidents where ref’s have been conned but TV reruns have shown the players dived.

    • honda 10 years ago

We should definitely by now have a panel that reviews incidents after matches and has the ability to give punishments were seen fit, if not going to the point like in say rugby where things go to a video ref in game as to not interrupt the flow of the match.

    • waggy 10 years ago

His reaction becomes the total focal point and that is why a high percentage of decisions are dealt with regard to reaction and not actual body contact. His reaction to the challenge is the influence to the decision. Until we pause, re wind, analyse and let the 4th official decide the REACTION will govern the ref’s decision.

    • Alex 10 years ago

Horsing – I’m absolutely gobsmacked. Like Chico was on Saturday afternoon…or should that be grazedthetopofmyheadsmacked?

Really really poor. How a panel of grown men can’t see how that wasn’t a red is beyond me. The game’s officially gone.

Dundee UTD v Motherwell KO 6pm

More under 20 action – UTD’s last 6 have seen both teams score with all 6 over 2.5 and 4 of those over 3.5 goals! Hamilton have seen BTTS in 13 of their last 14 away matches! 12 saw over 2.5 with 8 of those over 3.5! 101. The UHT 10 years ago

Hoping the weather doesn’t lead to late postponements tonight – or too many punts from half way ending up nestling behind the team were on’s keeper… ;-)

    Conference Premier
    Halifax Town v Salisbury
It’s 9th Halifax v 8th Salisbury. But something doesn’t quite stack up. Is it the fact that Salisbury are above Halifax having played 4 games fewer…? Or is there something fishy in the fact that Halifax are the best home side in this league yet are only 9th overall…?
    They are! P16 W11 D4 L1 F41 A16.
    Meanwhile, Salisbury are 17th out of 24 away, and their record is P13 W3 D2 L8 F13 A21.
    That’s not really very good.
True, Halifax are abysmal away – they’re 3rd worst in league (W1 D5 L10) – but this game’s at home. And true, also, they haven’t won in their last six – four draws and two defeats. But only two of those were home, and were both draws, against the 3rd and 4th best away sides in the league. The game prior to that, they played 18th best away Lincoln and beat them 5-1.
I like this tweet from the Shaymen’s – they play at Shay Stadium – own feed: “The feedback we have had so far suggests the majority of fans are confident Town are going to right the wrongs of Saturday’s performance and pick up all three points. Plenty of optimism so far, 3-1 Town seems to be a popular prediction.”
Lower league fans always expect the worst, so, if they’re in good heart, it’s a good sign. No serious injury news either.
At odds against 11/10, we have to be on the home.

    Southern Premier League
    Bedford v Poole Town
Bedford were my very first bet on non-league and they let me down bigtime, but I can’t see them failing me tonight by getting any kind of result. I like this match-up particularly, because I’ve been waiting on a good game for Poole Town who keep getting postponed, but they are a team who have played far fewer games than anybody else, and they’re the team the fans of clubs at the top are worried about.
Anyway, Bedford have lost their last 10 straight and you have to go back to the 21st of September for their last win. Poole have drawn their last three aways against 11th, 2nd and 17th best home sides, but Bedford are losing to every man and his dog right now.
The 4/7 for the away is not huge, but given the stats it’s hardly to be sneezed at.

    Isthmian Premier League
East Thurrock v Dulwich Hamlet KO 7.45pm
East Thurrock are 22nd best home side of 24 in league. That’s slightly deceptive, as they’ve only played 11 compared to everybody immediately above them who’ve generally played 13 or 14. However, it’s the 21st September since they last won at home – what a night that was for bad teams! They’ve only played six at home since, drawing two and losing four. Season-long, they’re P11 W2 D3 L6 F15 A16. Not exactly anything that would have you belting down your tea tonight to get out for.
Meanwhile, Dulwich Hamlet are second in the league overall, pushing hard for promotion, two points behind Maidstone with this game in hand, and are fifth best away. (Wealdstone in third also have games in hand – and they look appealing in the game they have tonight, too – but tonight Dulwich would go top with a win, as Maidstone don’t have a game.)
Dulwich away record is P14 W7 D2 L5 F31 A22. That’s very definitely good enough to embrace the away with some confidence.
    The away is 8/11.

    . . .

That treble is very much in the area of odds/risk that I’m looking for, and pays at 5.7.

    Good luck tonight, everyone!

I have some amazing homework for next weekend. The other SA countries I can take or leave, and, anyway, the foreign land that’s currently fascinating me is the one on my own doorstep since I live in rural England – it’s everything non-league for me at the moment…!! 118. Richard 10 years ago

Right Greg I have a new league for you on the overs – the Chilean Segunda League where 8 of 14 teams boast a goals per gams average of over 3.

    Tonight’s fare is

Colo Colo II vs CDSC Iberia 8pm

It’s really the home team who have caught the eye here as they average 4.14 goals per game after 14 games, and although the home average is slightly lower (3.86) there have been 18 goals in their last 3 at home. Even better this has been nice and consistent with 6 goals in each of their past 3 home games. In their last 6 home and away their have been 30 goals.

Iberia have the same approx away goal average of 3.83 and although their recent games have not quite hit the heights, 13 of their 14 games this season have seen both teams score.

H-2-H certainly doesn’t discourage as total goals in last 5 have been 6,4,3,7,5

Markets are limited ahead of kick off but over 3.5 on the asian line is available at 1.90 just now – think I’ll take this on and might have a small stakes nibble at something higher if it’s available

  119. Richard 10 years ago

Right this is only a gut feeling but gonna have a punt at lots of goals in the Bristol vs Coventry game

    Take over 5.5 ftg @ 13.0

    • honda 10 years ago

Damn that’s a lot of goals!

  120. Shaun Tanner 10 years ago

I like the look of Fulham tonight so will be taking a single bet on them to win + Clint Dempsey anytime scorer, who must be due a goal! I will also take the SS today, Bristol City, seems a great shout to me. These are my big bets tonight.

My smaller bets are Emmanuel-thomas first and anytime scorer and a treble containing- Fulham, Bristol City and Vitesse.

Nothing against Mr F as I have been following him for years and he tips well however I have been saying for a while that unless you either bet large or use the martingale system there is little value in singles in football, as the majority by their nature are really difficult calls but still only pay around evens. You will win some and lose some. Much better to either have doubles or trebles full of short prices that together pay evens. Much more likely to get a run of wins. Or if singles are your thing and you want a football bet go for 1st scorers or something at bigger odds so that when you do win it covers a few bets worth of losses. Just my opinion.

  139. Richard 10 years ago

Got on over 1.5 fhg @ 2.50 when they brough Colo Colo on in-play after about 10 mins – 3-0 after 24 mins :)

  140. clean the bookies 10 years ago

Bristol are killing me jeez 3 hrses maccelsfield and bristol to win. 25 on at 18/1

  141. raaljaca 10 years ago

  142. Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Andrew, the advice is find a site you like.

  143. Buck 10 years ago

Brilliant Richard 3-0 already haha! Wow

  144. craigdon 10 years ago

2-0 AZ, quality just need Fulham to win and my treble is up.

  145. clean the bookies 10 years ago

A charge would keep the likes of u away jo

  146. Greg Browning 10 years ago

11/2 for no more goals in the AZ game for anyone looking to cover the over 2.5 treble!

Rixhard, tremendous mate! Have added them to my black book! Haha :)

  147. Ross 10 years ago

Hope Fulham end up in the conference, they are utterly stinking!! losing 6-0 on corners to a team that can barely buy a goal in league one. Pathetic.

  148. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Where’s this Greek striker for Fulham, the baw sticks to his feet, scores hatvtrick in CL

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

      Craig, Mitroglou isn’t eligible tonight.

  149. clean the bookies 10 years ago

There’s your Udinese goal, Oor man.

  155. Crossanbhoy 10 years ago

How about scrapping the top treble and change it to a double? Trebles rarely come in these days. Not being critical just a suggestion

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Crossasbhoy, if there’s a double I like I’ll put it up. Would have taken PSG but need to see line-up first.

  156. Richard 10 years ago

Looking good UHT – how are these leagues for overs generally as I can’t help but notice all your games have gone over in the first half

    • The UHT 10 years ago

Here’s the stats on the Southern Premier League – chosen arbitrarily from non-league levels 5/6/7 of pyramid from last season…

      League Progress Total %
      Matches played 462 100 %
      Matches remaining 0 0 %
      Outcomes Total %
      Home team wins 204 44 %
      Draws 93 20 %
      Away team wins 165 36 %
      Goals Total Per match
      Goals scored 1409 3.05
      Home goals 748 1.62
      Away goals 661 1.43
      Over/Under 2.5 stats Total %
      Over 2.5 274 59 %
      Under 2.5 188 41 %

Compare that to, say, Dutch Eredivisie for last season:

      League Progress Total %
      Matches played 306 100 %
      Matches remaining 0 0 %
      Outcomes Total %
      Home team wins 137 45 %
      Draws 78 25 %
      Away team wins 91 30 %
      Goals Total Per match
      Goals scored 964 3.15
      Home goals 540 1.76
      Away goals 424 1.39
      Over/Under 2.5 stats Total %
      Over 2.5 181 59 %
      Under 2.5 125 41 %

Nothing like as many draws – I think that’s because the teams are crap, though I can’t work out why it would have that effect, but slightly lower goals per game (still quite high).

The problem with looking at more sophisticated betting options in these leagues may be that the markets are not always on offer, because these games play at the same time as the vast majority of league games, so, there’s rarely a lot more offered than W-D-W or Over/Under 2.5.

In any case, as you know, Richard, my angle is Unders! If only they’d persevere with offering us Tunisia Ligue Professionelle!

Meanwhile – once again, great homework in Chile. Consider my cap tipped. ;-)

  157. craigdon 10 years ago

And The UHT, all your lower league teams are winning at HT, fabulous tipping – so far anyway!!

  158. King 10 years ago

It’s half time all, I’m glad Cov are 2 up for my bet but the game is NOT over

  159. William bailie 10 years ago

Anyone else finding it difficult to spot the premier league team in this Fulham – Sheff utd game?? Haven’t seen Fulham play in a while but didn’t realise things had got this bad !! Aren’t sheff utd in league 1 ? Good call on Macclesfield Greg !

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

William, Fulham have made some good signings who can’t play so I wouldn’t judge them on this.

  160. honda 10 years ago

    WHAT a goal from Fiorentina!

  161. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Game of 2 halves?? anyone thinking Fulham will come out a different team can get 6/4 on +3 corners(corner handicap) @bet365. Shef utd up 6-2 at ht, could be a steal plus can cover bet on shef utd RT9 at evens just now if you want a low risk bet.

  162. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

Hmm, yeah Udine goal but a bit too early for me…prefer around 65-70min….. Fio do like a comeback if they have time. Id be in a draw as well in play if anyone has Udine to win….in case.

  163. Fix what? 10 years ago

Spot on Craigdon. To be fair mr F puts his neck on the line every night, you win more often than not, just bad luck of late, that’s gambling for you.

Even with odds on matches there’s just no guarantee, but you have to take it on the chin either way. Hopefully Bristol will actually score…

  164. William bailie 10 years ago

Not judging mr f , just surprised as thought gulf in class would be visible tonight on their own patch ! Maybe see duff on 2nd half so still plenty of time !

  165. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

Ah….seconds too late for that comment…Fiorentina score

  166. patrick 10 years ago

    Thanks Greg :-)

  167. Richard 10 years ago

And Colo Colo II bring up the over 3.5 by half time – well they bring it up indirectly by being so bad they’ve lost 4 goals by half time :)

Thankfully I did take a nibble at something bigger as there were full goal markets on this one :)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Over 4.5 at 2/1 landed by half time!!! Richard you are up there with Greg mate, thank you very much ;)

    • Richard 10 years ago

Cheers Raal – most definitely not up there with Greg but I concentrate on different leagues so I sometimes find the odd gem.

  170. steve o 10 years ago

there is no doubt that for whatever reason midweek fixtures can be a minefield for punters especially when looking at the weekends results for clues.Still we can only try I like many others fancied Bristol tonite. Two teams i would recommend keeping an eye on are Mansfield and Northampton.

  171. waggy 10 years ago

SHEFF UTD @5/1 have to worth a punt. Its half time 0-0 each. Sheff Utd have had 6 corners to 1. Worth a look at those odds.

  172. raaljaca 10 years ago

Taken Bristol City to draw at 8/1 and win at 22/1 as this is Coventry :)

  173. William bailie 10 years ago

They will disappear like a fart in the wind when mr f starts banging the winners in again !! Everyone has off days !! :)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

William, just trolls – usually their first comment.

  174. Philardino 10 years ago

Orr man I’m on Udinese, Viola’s result against Catania? was a bit of a shocker for me, like you say they’re (Udinese) all in as their league form is terrible. Time will tell.

  175. Stormin 10 years ago

Haha Raal 3-0 last time and they got it back to 3-3 at one stage

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Stormin, landed the bet Richard advised so it is just for an interest, yeah last one was 5-4 so you never know mate.

  176. Philardino 10 years ago

    Cagliari sorry

  177. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

Not watching the Udi Fio game but worst time for Udi to score and best time for Fio to score for a Udi win bet. So its back to zero for second half.

Bet no one would have had 1.5 goals first half…neither would I but someone does have a over 2.5 so good luck to them. As long as the third is a Udi goal by Lopez.

    Im off into the dark.

  178. Greg Browning 10 years ago

  179. Andrew 10 years ago

    Evening folks,

I keep seeing a reference to Andrew but the posts are deleted. I do hope no one has hijacked my name, I shall assume its just a moron.

Mr F, did you get my mail by any chance? On to tonights card, not having the best night, wish id spread the singles better. Otherwise, from a natives point of view Laudrup scandalous decision, all sorts of rumours flying about!

    Andrew

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Andrew, it’s not you – not checked emails yet.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Gary Monk is odds on for the managers job which is all very well except for one thing, who is Gary Monk????

    • honda 10 years ago

      Ex Swansea defender I believe

    • honda 10 years ago

Brought in just before Laudrup was sacked

    • Andrew 10 years ago

      Haha Raaljaca,

Garry Monk is a Swansea legend. Came all the way up from League 2 if I remember rightly. He was recently added to the Swansea coaching staff and the concensus was he would be an ally to Laudrup.

      Seemingly that’s not the case!

Cheers for the reply Mr F, just don’t like the idea of being impersonated!

      Andrew

  180. Alasu57 10 years ago

So we know he has good communication skills!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Thanks guys, knew the name but couldn’t think who he was. Flores goes to attack his new manager with a brick? Team harmony is soooooo important!!!

    • Andrew 10 years ago

      Evening Craig,

I strongly agree mate, think Fulham are on a real downward spiral at the moment, even if they scrape through tonight they were taken apart by Southampton!

  198. Tempest 10 years ago

Mr F I have a small suggestion and I’m not sure how other visitors of this wonderful site would feel about this. How about posting your SS but also letting us know what you tipped in the Daily Record? That way the followers of the site can decide which one they fancy to win. I say this because I’ve seen several times when the SS doesn’t come up but the one in the Daily Record has won, for example the Under 2.5 goals that you tipped yesterday for the Man City v Chelsea game, I made that my SS instead (thanks to you). Please think about it at least. Thanks the usual suspects for the great tipping too :)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Tempest, it’s usually the same and when it’s not I normally say. Tomorrow it’s Dumbarton in the Record and probably here too.

  199. Mark1976 10 years ago

Hopefully some of you read and backed my fiorentina game tip today on the corners market.
    All in favour of fiorentina

    Race to 3 1/1 WIN
    Race to 5 6/4 WIN
    Race to 7 3/1 WIN

  203. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

Ah Mark 1976 well done, i wanted to see if youd get that!

  204. Mark1976 10 years ago

Thanks honda, I think the fact they went a goal down helped, forcing them to press more. Not sure if it’s their style of play but fiorentina are usually very good for corners. Maybe Oor Man In Napoli can shed more light.

  205. Mark1976 10 years ago

Thanks Oor Man, I also had a race to 9 at 15/2 but wasn’t confident enough to post it as seven is the normal for them, wish I had now

    • honda 10 years ago

Take it your on the next Fiorentina match ?

  206. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

Just got your comment Philardino, well done on backing them.

Mark 1976. Fiorentina like to control the game by keeping the ball. And they have quality midfield. So they usually press and press a team back.
But ive no idea on stats re. Corners etc for any serie a team. I wouldnt have clue to say whether its 3 6 or 9 or who will be first to three or anything!

  207. Tonyboy 10 years ago

Glad Fulham went out. They were embarrassing to the Premier League and United showed grit throughout.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Tonyboy, as bad a game as I’ve watched. Fulham boss said yesterday they couldn’t afford to lose but didn’t play like it.

  208. Mark1976 10 years ago

    @honda
Yes more than likely, but I see who they are playing. Some teams will force fiorentina to play differently meaning less corners, will post after research mate.
    @ Oor Man
Don’t worry about stats mate, was just wondering if you knew their style of play which you do. Pressing with a strong midfield. That explains the corners. What also say their must have a good aerial front man aswell. Yes?

  209. Mark1976 10 years ago

Bloody iPhone, loads of typos. Sorry gents.

  210. Mark1976 10 years ago

Was listening to it at work Mr F, no desire and no heart, sounds like a recipe for the championship to me.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Mark1976, easy game at Man Utd on Saturday too. They better hope Mitroglou hits the ground running.

  211. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

Fiorentina yes the like to keep the ball control the pace. When they have a full team. I would say fiorentina have a strong spine, especially with Rossi and Gomez(the height) but teams tend to numb that and yet the their attacking midfield either side use the pitch and they score goals too. So its tricky, as Juve found out when they lost 4 goals in the 2nd half earlier in the season. Napoli had to use counter attack as they werent going to run after a ball for 90min. Hard side to beat with a full team Fiorentina.

  212. Greg Browning 10 years ago

Well done with the corners Mark :)

  213. Richard 10 years ago

    Late night game

    Colombia Primera A

    Once Caldas vs Medelin 12:45

Once sit 4th after 2 games having won their only home game – Medelin by way of contrast have lost their only away game. Hardly definitive I know but coupled with the fact Once finished above Medelin in the Clausura last year, have won 5 of the last 7 H-2-H, 3 of the last 4 at home and the last 2 H-2-H then I’m gonna go with the home win.

Once Caldas to win @ 1.95

I’m afraid after about 30 mins looking at various Mexican Copa MX games, nothing else stands out

      3 home wins = x 3.14 unibet

  214. craig k 10 years ago

Probably jumping too far ahead of myself but after watching Fulham tonight that was the worst performance from a side ive seen this season in any league! My team Liverpool travel there next Wednesday in the premier league and after the season both sides have had, and Liverpool scoring 5 there last season I had a look at team goals markets. Over 2.5 Liverpool goals pays 13/8, over 3.5 9/2 and over 4.5 14/1. Just a thought

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

craig k, I’ve said it a few times tonight but it will be a much different Fulham side that faces Liverpool.

  215. Steve The Pirate 10 years ago

Garrr, while I admire people sticking up for fellow contributors on the site, there can be no denying it’s been a poor run from the cap’n for a fair old while now, granted there has been some bad fortune, but I do have to say some of the choices have been fairly questionable. Trolls be foul creatures, but given the lack of success this year it be not surprising people be speaking out in frustration.

I did like the shortlist last week, and I think the idea of having a voted shipmates SS Vs the cap’ns SS is very interesting, and gives punters a choice of what to back, which would also make them more responsible for their wins and losses, rather than piling everything on the head of the Cap’n

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Garr, Maty Steve, I think Ive got just the thing for you.
      http://www.sailflow.com/

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Steve The Pirate, if tomorrow’s SS loses I’ll give the site the vote again on Thursday and Friday – and it will include a no vote as there’s not much on. And then Saturday I’ll pick another 3-3 draw.

OK just to make myself a liar

    Campeonato Cearense

    Tiradentes vs Fortaleza 11:20pm

Fortaleza sit top of this league with 8 wins and 2 defeats from 10 games while Tiradentes are 2nd bottom with 7 points from 10 games.

As you’d expect then Fortaleza are quite skinny for the win but an interesting stat comes up if you look at the goal markets. There have been exactly 4 goals in every away game Fortaleza have played in this leaague and I’m looking for them to do it again.

    Over 3.5 ftg @ 2.15

Hi Mr F, firstly, can anyone stop the Bayern Munich Juggernaut from winning the champions league, personally I dont think so, but no team has retained the title. Secondly, Juventus to win Europa League in their own back yard. 13/5 and 7/2 with Paddy pays 15.2 to 1 double ??

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Joe 90, both have been tipped here and I’ve backed both. On their day any of the three Spanish teams can give them a game and of course don’t rule out Man City or Chelsea yet.

  225. ScroggieBoy 10 years ago

Just won 140 quid on the corner market on the fluminense RJ vs audax rio game as a bit of fun. Was going to post but was busy getting ready for work tomorrow,
    Over 8 fhc 15/8 won
    Over 16 1/1 won
    Over 18 3/1 won
    Over 20 11/2 won

Did start with a tenner so had that on
Over 1 corners in first half extra time in Fulham vs Sheffield utd game and over 10 corners in Fiorentina with about 10 mins left over that,
Double paid £52 to a tenner so overall a good night :)

  226. Greg Browning 10 years ago

After all the debates going on about the super single mr f, how about just going with the old daily record ss for a week and seeing how it goes? Seems more like your gut instincts, and then if there are any call off or team changes you can update on here? Might be less pressure trying to pick two ss every day :) just a suggestion, not a criticism at all :)

Kev, whatever I put up I expect to win. The DR one needs to be picked almost 30 hours before kick-off and sometimes I read things that put me off or point to another side. Wednesday’s Super Single is the same.

Mr F, dont fancy Napoli much tomorrow night. Dont want to jinx the result. But one thing alone stands out for me. Roma have not played for 10 days. Napoli will have played 3 matches in 7 days. Hamsik and Behrami will be sharper in a week and the new signings will be a bit more settled.

Oor man, just posted saying Roma look a great bet at evens – and have the fresher legs. Hopefully they’ll go full strength and I was reading they’re desperate to lift the cup to that prestigious star on their jersey for a 10th success.

Mr F , With Bayern nearly over the line in their domestic league it means they will have less pressure picking teams and be able to rest players than the other big clubs still fighting for their league titles. Juventus I beleive will win europa in a canter for the same reason and also its a 2 leg comp till final at their home stadium. Good luck.

Ha, i hope Roma get truly thrashed but I wouldnt bet on Napoli. Not this week.

Probably for the best to write off the last two days! Apologies to those who backed my tips, they just haven’t come off the last couple of days at all. Both Lincoln and Coventry were one goal off landing their respective over team goals bets, but never mind. Still made 10 out of 11 weeks profit so this blip doesn’t change my thinking!

    WEEK:
    STAKE: 5PTS

It’s been a poor week so far, but the recovery will hopefully begin tomorrow, so stick with it! Tips for tomorrow will be up tomorrow lunchtime, want to finalise them first!
