Feb 3: Mr Fixit’s Top Tips

IT was a pretty decent night all round on the site with myself, Greg and Jordan – and Johnb on the racing – all putting up winners.

I was a Rangers goal from a full house on my main tips but I covered the Top Treble as best I could near the end for a 0.2pt loss. My 0.5pts double chance sixfold 20-1 long shot was only beaten by Stoke who went down heavily at Man United.

For the second day in a row I played fairly safe with the Super Single which was an 11-10 double on West Ham draw no bet and Spurs not to lose. Both won comfortably although the Hammers struggles until Aston Villa were reduced to 10.

The big drama came with my both to score treble. Games at Ipswich and Bolton had come in and I'd given up hope of Morecambe netting against Portsmouth. But deep into injury time keeper Barry Roche went up and headed home from a corner to give me a nice 6-1 winner.

Both to score at Morecambe was also Greg's nap at 19-20 and he also put up a French double at 23-10 thanks to Metz and Lens.

So we take a deep breath and move on to Wednesday which is a bit quieter with Aberdeen v Celtic – and I'll post a match preview – the only match in Scotland and Everton v Newcastle and Watford v Chelsea the only two in England.

There is, however, a full card in Serie A including Juventus v Genoa and Lazio v Napoli and seven French Ligue games including PSG v Lorient and Lyon v Bordeaux.

In the Spanish Cup Barcelona tackle Valencia at home in the first leg of their semi-final and that's a tough one for Gary Neville who is under increasing pressure after his side's home defeat against Sporting Gijon at the weekend.

My only tip for now is Aberdeen draw no bet at 12-5 with William Hill and the reasoning will be on the preview post.

That's a long-shot Super Single and my other focuses on the big guns – Juventus, PSG and Barca. They are so short my bet is a treble but it should come in.

For the Top Treble I start with Guingamp at home to a Troyes side bottom of the table and with 26 goals conceded on the road. They lost keeper Paul Berbardoni and striker Jimmy Cabol in the transfer window and could struggle against a side who have won their last two.

I like Bologna and plenty of people have tip them to score goals at Frosinone. They are big at 7-5 with William Hill so for the accumulator I'm taking them not to lose.

Same goes for third-place Angers in the French League. They travel to third-bottom Reims and are 12-5 with the likes of Ladbrokes. Angers recovered from a 5-1 loss to PSG to beat Monaco 3-0 and again I'm on them not to lose.
