JUNIOR football tipsters Owen Scott and Paul Petrie have enjoyed better weather but their tips remain stone cold.

Neither could land a treble last weekend with both being beaten by the Kelty-Linlithgow game. Owen went with Linlithgow and Paul a draw but it ended 1-0 to Kelty.

William Hill's Owen has banked just £15.27 this season while McBookie's Paul is on £153.20 to £10 stakes. Here's what the duo are on this weekend.

Owen writes: “I'm not getting any closer to landing a treble and it's beginning to really get me down. Cheltenham is just around the corner and everyone could really do with a boost to their betting bank so I'm putting more pressure than normal on myself this next couple of weeks.

“Since I keep calling it wrong I was tempted to take Mr Fixit's beloved Bankies. After last week's shock win at leaders Irvine Meadow they are at home to Cumnock and a win will lift them of the foot of the table for the first time this season.

“If I was to pick the Bankies it would surely ensure my own side get three vital points but the game really is too close to call so I'm leaving it alone.

“I actually fancied Clydebank at a huge price last week in their bottom v top battle at Irvine Meadow and wish I'd been on.

“So I'm starting in the East and taking Arniston at 1-1 at home to Oakley. Both sides have been climbing the table of late but the home side's form has impressed me the most so I'm on them.

“Musselburgh 4-7 are another side who have impressed me results wise lately and are at home to a Sauchie side who are in the middle of a bad run so I reckon Musselburgh will win this one.

“To finish my treble off I'm taking in the match where many will be looking at for a possible upset when Shettleston play host to Newtongrange for a place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Junior Cup. I reckon this will be one match too many for Shettleston and Newtongrange 10-11 can do enough to get the win at the first time of asking.”

Paul writes: First up I am going for Broughty to beat Dalkeith at 6-5. Some punters have been backing them in recent weeks to win the league and there is no doubt they have hit some form.

Next I am going for Islavale to beat Nairn St Ninian at 7-10. Amazingly they are the fourth favourites for the league despite a great run in the last four weeks which is no surprise considering all teams are capable of beating each other. However, I will take the chance they will keep up their good form.

Finally, I am going for a draw in the Shettleston v Newtongrange Scottish Cup tie at 7-2. A few people have backed Shettleston already and it wouldn’t surprise me if they did win having beaten top-flight Clydebank in the previous round. However, I suspect if it is a draw near the end both teams will be content to have another go.
