GENK beat the Super Single on Thursday which ended a run of five in a row (or four for some) so at least we're back on track.

Last Saturday I picked Sheffield Wednesday and after that was postponed suggested Aberdeen who won 1-0 at St Mirren. I later put up an over 2.5 goals double that just missed out for those who didn't get on the Dons for the 12.45pm start.

I did all right on a tricky card last weekend and I don't think it's much easier this time round.

Fans of clubs featured are especially welcome to comment on my picks and remember this is my first glance at the coupon and teams are picked going by form not team news and head to heads.

Super Single shortlist

Cardiff v HULL

BLACKPOOL v Birmingham

Charlton v QPR

READING v Blackburn

BRENTFORD v Wolves

ORIENT v Swindon

Stevenage v PETERBOROUGH

Morecambe v OXFORD

ROSS COUNTY v St Mirren

DUMBARTON v Raith

    Mr F
at first glance appears a terrible super single list

I would go with a Super Single (DAILY DOUBLE HOME BANKERS)
West Bro 3/4 with Arsenal 2/7 @ ladbrokes

    • Scunner 10 years ago

Simon, would you not be afraid of the new boss effect with Fulham. Also, haven’t West Brom just one win in 20 or something ridiculous like that?

    • simple simon 10 years ago

Just think arsenal way too strong

and fulham weaker than west brom at brom over all

      we’ll know at 5 sat

  2. Elliott 10 years ago

QPR appear the pick of the bunch for me.

    Followed by Orient and Reading.

  3. honda 10 years ago

I’d say Orient at first glance

  4. Craig Mc 10 years ago

Blackpool the team who have won 3 times since mid September.
What is the reasoning behind them?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Craig Mc, 2 decent draws against Ipswich and Forest in last two games. Against a side who have been poor themselves. Unlikely to be the pick though.

    • robbo 10 years ago

The reasoning behind Blackpool I suspect is that they are playing a very poor brum side(my team) and at odds against represent value imo

  5. Bondy 10 years ago

    Reading for me

  6. Rob Sutton 10 years ago

    QPR for me!!

  7. Liam 10 years ago

    QPR from that…

  8. rolanrat 10 years ago

Keep up the tips mr f.orient for me!!

  9. robbie d 10 years ago

    Dumbarton for me.
What about Aberdeen away to Partick?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Robbie d, Aberdeen should win but this is a list featuring teams evens or above.

    • robbie d 10 years ago

Ok. I thought you were also including teams at just under evens, and Aberdeen are 10/11. I’ve put them in a treble with Dumbarton and Spurs.
Look forward to seeing Saturday’s selection

Napoli look average Im sick of this Europa league !!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Stubhoy, it was looking better until Porto’s collapse.

  11. Sparky 10 years ago

Ross county are a wheelbarrow job!

  12. jamesy 10 years ago

    Reading

  13. Rob 10 years ago

Like the look of Dumbarton to beat a Raith side who haven’t scored in the last four away league games.

  14. Rob 10 years ago

My choice is Notts County. County are strong at home against a Shrewsbury side who have generally struggled on their travels.

  15. Davalarr 10 years ago

    Has to be brentford!!!

  16. Ritchie 10 years ago

Shiels to score for Rangers- evens,as low as 2/5 elsewhere!

  17. Stefano marsh 10 years ago

Wolves to show there class and start to stretch clear in this league, brentford due a bad spell and Saunders is out for awhile now for brentford

  18. maxclover 10 years ago

    Ross county no doubt

  19. PaulG 10 years ago

QPR followed by Peterborough for me.

  20. FT 10 years ago

Ross county with fillip kiss back (is he back?).

I’d be wary of backing Brentford. I’m a Wolves STH and we’re playing the best we’ve played all season. The last few games we’ve got a nice 2 goal lead and strolled the matches. I’ll be travelling down there with the gold and black army and I think deep down we’re quietly confident of getting a result. Kenny Jackett is an intelligent man and I think he will be saying to the Wolves team lets not get beat. All the pressure will be on Brentford being the home team and they’ll be expected to take the game to Wolves. I certainly don’t see us losing. If we get a point we’re two points off Brentford and with the busy fixture list to come I think Jackett will be quietly confident that he has the squad depth compared to Brentford over the last couple of months to make the ground up. Jackett will be looking to nick it for the psychological edge but I think he’d quite happily take the point.
Reverse fixture was 0-0 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a low scoring game. I can see it being 1-1 or Wolves nicking it 1-0.
One things for sure its a massive game and I for one cant wait.

    • Stefano marsh 10 years ago

We’ll said craigyboy,i fancy wolves pretty strongly as well,I think your manager put his own squad together well suited for this division. They should win the league with this squad easily, starting with beating brentford tomorrow

  22. craigyboy 10 years ago

    My shortlist is:

    QPR
    Derby
    Leyton Orient

    My outside bets are:
Fulham (4/1 – massive odds considering they have a new manager, playing a team that haven’t won under their new manager, Fulham on the back of a fantastic performance at Old Trafford, all the pressures on the home team – all the Albion fans expect a win)
Wolves (pressures off and playing the best football I’ve seen for years)
Aldershot to beat Hyde and BTTS – 19/10

  23. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Craigyboy i like the look of qpr. Im not letting recent results put me off as i still think they have a great squad. The only thing that worries me is the loss of austin. What are your thoughts on doyle up front?

    • craigyboy 10 years ago

Doyle’s a great player – always contributed. Great on the ball and brings others into play. I think in front of goal he’s been very disappointing the last couple of seasons. Confidence thing I reckon. However change of scenery at QPR and he’s scored 2 in 3 I believe so hopefully he can get that element of his game back and come back to us with more confidence and ready to score goals.

  24. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Off the list- leyt o, reading, peterboro and qpr interest me. If i had to choose one it would be qpr.

  25. spenny 10 years ago

Leicester, with 10 men for the last 30 mins against Forest equalised and could of nickedit. Ipswich a doddle !

  26. robbo 10 years ago

Saw Charlton a couple of weeks ago and they were poor tbh so its qpr for me even though they have been poor themselves recently

  27. alva glen 10 years ago

    St.Johnstone or Morton.

  28. Stubhoy 10 years ago

Being a Kirkcaldy man I think Dumbarton should and WILL beat a Raith side who just cant buy a goal at the moment, and on the other hand the Sons are free scoring and I think top scorers in the division. Raith were shocking against Hamilton last weekend conceding 4 first half goals althought they did manage to pull 2 second half consolation strikes. For me Dumbarton and over 2.5 total match goals.

  29. Stubhoy 10 years ago

Yeah Mr F Porto and Napoli blew me out the water and I was not impressed. Going for top treble next week in TOTTENHAM v Dnipro NAPOLI v Swansea and HULL v Brighton ? ? ? I know im a bit early but thoughts please Mr Fixit. I also like look of Chelsea, Dortmund and Real Madrid respectively.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Stubhoy, you’re right – it’s a bit early. 100 per cent focused on Saturday’s games just now.

  30. brian c 10 years ago

stubhoy – great trebble for next week
    il b on that too

  31. Adam 10 years ago

Swindon struggling for numbers Leyton orient look good

  32. Dickson 10 years ago

QPR would certainly be my first choice. Hull for my second as they tend to play well against teams in the bottom half for example had a good 2-0 win over Sunderland away a couple of weeks ago. Would avoid Ross County as only 1 point in last 9 against poorer teams Killie, Hearts and Hibs. Also concede to many. 6 in last 3.

  33. Dickson 10 years ago

Strongly fancy Aberdeen also although not in the list. Partick 2 points from 12 whereas Aberdeen have won last 2 away with in my opinion very good results then prior a solid 4-0 home victory. Couldn’t realistically be a bigger contrast in morale or form. My opinion bet of the weekend.

  34. bradsbets 10 years ago

id agree with the wolves comments and from a betting prospective our match against them may go either way so swerve that game if u want the stress f worry averted

  35. Claw 10 years ago

I’d say QPR looks like a great value for the super single! After a series of disappointing results, they’ll be looking to turn the corner!

  36. John Boy 10 years ago

Annan away at Queens Park. 21/20. Hills .

  37. John Bryan 10 years ago

Preston away to Colchester, Colchester have had a shocking time at home of late and their only successes were against poorer oppostion. 19/20 a bit skinny at Bet365.
Or Oxford away to Morecombe at 8/5 at Bet365 is a lot healthier.

  38. craigyboy 10 years ago

After mulling it over I’m shying away from QPR. If I can recall it was a late goal that won them the game at home and there just a team I cant fully trust. So inconsistent and add to the fact Barton is due a red card as well. I also looked at Orient and again they should win but Swindon are no mugs and whilst they have a few out they players who want to come in and prove a point.
Of the three I posted I prefer the look of Derby and whilst their odds have dropped I will be pairing them up with a Leicester team who are by far and away the best team in the league and should beat Ipswich by at least 2 goals.

    Derby/Leicester double pays roughly 2/1 (5 points)

I’ve gone for an under 2.5 goal treble this week. Just a few games that have caught my eye.

    Colchester v Preston
    Charlton v QPR
    Cardiff v Hull
    (2 points)

Really fancy Preston and QPR to sneak these 1-0 – another cheeky low stake double to consider (may take win to nil also)

    Double chance accumulator
    Fulham/Draw
    Watford/Draw
    Birmingham/Draw
    Oxford/Draw
    Wolves/Draw
    (1 point)

  39. Chappers 10 years ago

Looking at how tight some of those games are, could be a day to back draws!

  40. Kabiru ibrahim 10 years ago

    Fulham to beat wesbrom
