OVER 2.5 goals at Verona v Torino on Monday made it two (or three) Super Single successes in a row depending if you got on Aberdeen in time last Saturday.
So hopefully that's the Super Single back on track and it would be nice to keep it going on Tuesday.
Tonight most eyes will be on the Champions League and I've put up a separate post on Man City v Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen v PSG.
My Super Single in today's Daily Record is PSG who are a biggest 13-10 at Betfred and I've decided not to mess about and go with them here. The reasoning is on the Champions League preview.
Start the Top Treble with Wigan at home to Barnsley. Uwe Rosler's men were impressive in beating Cardiff in the FA Cup at the weekend to extend their marathon season even further.
Promotion is of course the main aim and they are edging closer to the play-offs with two games in hand on most of their chief rivals. When Wigan battered Barnsley 4-0 at Oakwell at the start of the season it looked as if Owen Coyle's side would be the ones to beat but they were tripped up by a combination of selling players and European football commitments.
Rosler has turned it around and Wigan should beat a second-bottom Barnsley outfit whose only win in six was against out-of-form Blackpool. Wigan are 8-13 at Ladbrokes.
Add League One title chasers Orient who handled the Tom Finney tributes at the weekend by holding Preston 1-1. Orient remain in contention behind Brentford and Wolves and should beat a Stevenage side who are rooted to the foot but always capable of a surprise performance.
Orient, also 8-13 at Ladbrokes, have won more games away from home than at Brisbane Road and that's a concern but they should be too strong for Stevenage.
To complete the treble I considered Derby at Sheffield Wednesday and Cambridge at home to Wrexham but have decided to focus on the Scottish Cup replay between Inverness and Stranraer.
Premiership side and League Cup finalists ICT should come through comfortably enough but are no bigger than 2-9 at Coral so look at the goals markets.
League One Stranraer, who face one of the longest travels in Scottish football, battled to a 2-2 draw at home and generally their sides are high scoring with the likes of top scorer Jamie Longworth a handful for anyone.
Inverness drew 0-0 with Hearts at the weekend but hit the woodwork four times and couldn't beat inspired keeper Jamie MacDonald so the result is not a worry. I can see ICT scoring three or four – and probably conceding – so take over 2.5 goals at 2-5 with Ladbrokes.

I think the Halifax pitch is in bad condition due to rugby being played on it. Halifax DNB is obvious play though, Braintree are either going to have a big advantage by being fresh or disadvantage by being rusty

Morning guys, for me the Champions league starts now and one match in particular catches the imagination.
Man City v Barcelona
City ended a slight drought with a win over Chelsea in the FA cup at the weekend and that could give City backers, hope here. Aguero will miss out and that is a huge miss.
I ultimately think Barcelona will go through in this tie, and a draw may suit both sides. Barcelona haven’t won in against an English team in 5 Champions league matches. Neymar returned at the weekend and scored but I think he will probably be on the bench.
I cant see anything but goals in this game, and my super single will be Messi to score at 6/5 Stan James. Over 1.5 Barca goals is 11/10 with the same firm.

In the other Champions league fixture Leverkusen host PSG, with the German side not in great form, losing five of their last seven games. They finished runners up to Manchester United in the group stage and lost both games against Manchester United. Given Man Utd current form this season, leads me to a PSG win 5/4 at Ladbrokes.
Paris should prove too strong over two legs and much will depend on their main guy Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He has scored eight times in the champions league and has 31 goals in 33 games in all competitions. I want to be with him tonight at 5/4 Paddy Power.

TIPS and BETS OF INTEREST
4 of 5 brought home the bacon which I’m pleased about as this is the bread and butter of the tipping game. Odds ranged from around 1.7-2.5 so that’s good for me.
I tried the £10-£1000 challenge twice and dropped the ball both times so third time lucky
I only posted one tasty treble which didn’t come in but I think I’ll look to continue this.
I’ve had zero time to research this weekend hence the lack of tips, though I can’t imagine I was missed with some of the talent on here! Hitman I’ve not had time to research mate but if I find anything I’ll get back to you. To be honest I look at all the stats and news first then come up with my bets, I don’t try and force bets onto any particular game. So if there’s nothing that jumps at me for the Watford game for example I just won’t bet. Or if I see that there are usually at least 2 goals per game but it’s 0-0 at half time I’ll bet then.
Russ I can’t see any particular reason why the odds would be so high on that. Both ENPPI and Ittihad have had mostly low scoring games lately but there have been some over 2.5. H2H is pretty useless as last one was in 2011 but the scores were generally low too. The Egyptian league isn’t exactly renowned for loads of goals.
Haven’t checked team news, and whilst I would’ve expected maybe over evens for it I wouldn’t have expected the price that high. Maybe half time price at a push seeing as it was 0-0 half time…

Was thinking that it makes sense to make the inplay bet the least likely outcome as this bet is refunded. So say that was a city win, then pre match do barca and draw then inplay city win. That way if city lost you would be refunded and if the draw came in at 13/5 you would be £80 up. Thoughts anyone?

Harry, when I see one bookie going much larger on anybody or team then it always makes you think they know something that the others don’t. It is a huge difference mate but in a sport where literally anything can happen. If I was to bet on it only one bookie will go each way and that is Ladbrokes who offer 7/1 on SYLVAIN DUFOUR at a 1/4 the first 3. If you can get on with 888sport you can back DUFOUR for a top 3 finish at slightly over 2/1 which would be my bet, in fact I just might do that seen as you pointed this one out. MARGUC is a decent bet at PP‘s 11/8 but a bet on him at that price and DUFOUR for a top 3 finish could pay off on both.

So my strategy will be to put 50 on city win with 365 and the risk free 50 on barca to win and then place 50 on a draw before the game with a different bookie i.e william hill.
this way if either barca or city win you win:
50 staked on city before the game which pays 150
50 on barca to win inplay which pays 120
50 on the draw will pay 180
this way bet365 have to pay you out as the draw is not placed with them so there is no way you can make guaranteed profit so its a 100% win..
im going to place barca in the inplay as i think it will either be a draw or a city win, so during inplay place the bet you think wont happen and the reason for this is that if the first inplay bet loses they will credit that bet back..
so now if city win or draw:
50 on city and 50 on draw= 100
50 on barca to win will be credited back
so total stake is 50
city win= 150 city draw=180
total stake=50 and win either 100 or 180

Damo, best bet is to cash out then switch off the TV for about 2 weeks and think you’ve done the right thing. I’ve never cashed out – to me it’s best to cover. That way your original bet will always pay out if it’s a winner (less your covering stake) and if it’s not you’ll still make a profit.
There we go Steaua and Qadsia to score in both halves, again the cash out taunting me at 80 mins! If there’s another goal in the young league game then that’s me clawed back the £160 from the challenge bet anyway.

I think our best chance is to try and keep a clean sheet and make away goals count. We have a great defensive record at home but this is going to be the toughest test we’ve had all season. Demichelis is nothing more than an average defender, he can’t cope when a player who is running in at goal. He ball watches and fails to keep up with the game, leaving holes everywhere he goes. Maybe next to Kompany he looks less than average as Kompany is world-class. It surprises me that with all the millions Man city have spent they still haven’t signed someone decent to go alongside him.

Jimmy, the Finland draw no bet is down to 8/5 and is a cracking bet mate. On the handicap Finland are 1/2 with a 1.5 start which shows how close it is expected to be. Russia have been poor and really do not look like improving much. I agree that Finland are the bet and on the draw no bet market it is a very very good price even now at 8/5. Any extra cash get it on CANADA to win the gold as they are still 2/1 which is massive ;)

Recoba, everytime I do a bet that loses I look at it and see why it went down. I learn a hell of a lot more from losing bets than I ever do from winning ones mate. Use any losing bet to your advantage and your winning ones will increase, trust me on that.

That really is a pity mate as he can destroy any defence. Keep your bets simple, don’t go with a scattergun approach, just one or two a day to build up a nice amount. I honestly enjoy watching loads of sports simply to see where my next bet will come from and not the ones I have on at the time. I can bet and watch in running prices if I need to cover but the majority of my bets I don’t watch live if there is something else on that might give me an opportunity in the future. Probably sounds daft but it works for me.
What’s the chances of all english clubs going out bar Man utd :) highly likely imo, drogba will come back to haunt chelsea. Draw was a bit unlucky plus couple losing corner bets but worth the risk, bank builder and treble still going tomorrow tho

A small profit but at least you are getting back on track Alex. Do you keep a track of all your bets? I noticed over a period of time your best strike rates come when doing 4 or 5 tips with prices from 11/10 up to 7/4. You landed at least 2 or 3 quite consistently which would give up to 50%+ profit quite regularly.
Raaljaca – I do keep track of my results yes. In the last 2 months of 2013, I was 35pts up and this year I’m 3.2pts up.
I’m finding it more difficult to find time to get the research done to be honest, but hopefully I can get back to a consistent run!
Your strike rates are good Alex. When time is at a premium I also found concentrating on the main European Leagues made it much easier stats wise to find a decent bet.

Agree about watching different sports and stuff raal. Im quite lucky to have a fair bit of free time so I try and watch as much football and stuff as I can.
I mentioned the other day that I would be looking out for Melbourne hearts next game being priced up against brisbane roar and ive just seen they are 12/5. Probably a bit early but I think they are well worth a small punt and the over 2.5 goals at 4/5 looks great as well. Ill stick up something closer to the game but just a wee heads up if anyone else fancied taking a look at it beforehand.
JAY, better asking someone else mate, I can only look at it from a fan’s point of view, and I’m just hoping we don’t concede and can make away goals count in the other leg. We have a great defensive record at the Emirates but this Guardiola Beyern side is something else! They are probably gonna come straight out the blocks with high energy pressing all the way up the pitch and plan on letting us have the ball as little as possible. I expect them to be ruthless mate and not let up for a second.

Cool dude> there is only one possible reason why pellegrini sticks with demichelis and that is because he brought him to the club, so dropping him will state he made an error in signing him. Despite narrowly missing out on my 4 fold (Coventry didn’t get their second and Watford couldn’t break down Yeovil) and having no joy with the 365 offer, it was a top day. The most emphatic of SS victories, along with Ibra and Messi scoring in winners brought in some mega booty. Steve also had a 50 pieces of silver free bet which he put on Ibra scoring two at 9/2. I dont do well at counting past ten, but that must add up to a fair bit of treasure. We may need a bigger boat. Har har harrrr
But while savouring this fine day I’ll add a word of thanks to those big enough to put up their pearls of wisdom for us to see, even if they turn out to be losing bets. There are always terrific finds here that would be overlooked otherwise.
