THERE is no Premier League card this weekend and a restricted one in the Championship which is one reason for focusing this line on the Scottish card.
This week we welcome Five to Follow sponsors 188bet on board and I'm sure they'd love me to kick off with a winner.
188bet sponsor Bolton and work with a number of Premier League clubs and between now and the end of the season the tie-up means we'll have plenty of goodies to give away.
So let's get to the action and I'm kicking off the line with Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League.
The Arabs have put in two sensational shows to knock Rangers out of the Scottish Cup then hit St Johnstone for five in Perth last week.
Young Gary Mackay-Steven has been the catalyst with some wonderful wing play and terrific tricks while Johnny Russell and Jon Daly have taken the chances that have come their way.
The United displays have been impressive and they should make it three in a row against a St Mirren side who had a lengthy trip to Ross County in midweek and who have only won once in the league this year.
Goals have been their problem with none in their last three SPL outings but for United they've hit 15 goals in their last five matches. United are 14-19 with 188bet.
Ross County and Ayr were both involved in Scottish Cup ties in midweek but the Dingwall men have the benefit of an extra day's rest. So Ayr, the only part-time side in Scottish Division One, will make their longest trek of the season to face a tough test against the leaders.
County were beaten 2-1 by St Mirren in the Cup but before that had hit 10 goals in two games. County are five points clear at the top with two games in hand and can soon start planning for the SPL if they keep racking up the victories.
The Dingwall men have won four out of five meetings of the sides and triumphed 4-0 at home to Ayr earlier this season. I reckon County will win this one.
Next look at Dumbarton in the Second Division. The Sons have been on a great run, having lost just once in seven, and have hit 10 goals in their last five.
They are at home to an Albion Rovers side who have gone eight without a victory, losing seven of them. Dumbarton are 3-5.
I'm staying in Scotland for selection No.4 and it's Stranraer at home to Clyde. The Blues have only lost one in seven, to leaders Alloa, and should be too strong for opponents whose only win in nine was against East Stirling. Odds on Stranraer are 1-2.
Finally, I'm going down to the Championship and backing a Southampton side who got their act together after a form blip. Nigel Adkins went into the midweek clash at West Ham back on track after beating Burnley and a draw at Upton Park was an acceptable result.
Next up at St Mary's is a meeting with a Derby outfit struggling for goals and now without a win in five. Take Saints at 1-2.
