THE Darts Premier League bandwagon rolls into Bournemouth tonight for week two of the new campaign and once again there's no shortage of cracking matches.

Phil Taylor is 27-20 at SportingBet to bag his first win against Stoke rival Adrian Lewis, who started in style with a 7-1 drubbing of reigning champ Raymond van Barneveld last week and is 13-8 at Paddy Power to cut The Power, with the draw 7-2 at bet365.

Barney faces another tough opponent in on-form Dave Chisnall, who I'm backing for victory. The St Helens dartist has started 2015 in great form, reaching the Masters final and hammering Peter Wright last week in the Premier League opener. Chizzy Rascal is bonkers value at 7-5 at bet365 to beat the Dutchman (13-8, 888sport).

To make it a double I'm adding world No.1 Michael van Gerwen at 4-7 with bet365. His opponent Stephen Bunting had a decent debut last week in a 6-6 draw with James Wade but van Gerwen should prove too strong.

Normally I'd add in Gary Anderson at 4-7 with William Hill against fellow Scot Peter Wright
(4-1, 888sport) but Anderson has been struggling with flu and had to pull out of an event in Wigan at the weekend so doubts remain over his condition.

Completing the five-match line-up on the night is Wade v new boy Kim Huybrechts.

Elsewhere today the stars are on show at the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam with Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych, Stan Wawrinka and Milos Raonic all in second-round action. There's also ATP events in Memphis and Sao Paulo as well as WTA action from Antwerp.

Post your sporting tips and chat here and good luck with your bets.

Van Gerwen win

Every week I’ll be doing a draw trixie side bet on the darts with the format so short. There’s always a week or two were there’s a load of draws.

    I’m going
Chizzy/ barney draw (wright was poor v chizzy and barney will improve)
Lewis/ Taylor draw (tough game to call)
Wade / hubrechts draw (huybrects played well in defeat last week)

Contrary to what your saying about Anderson he played very well against Taylor and fancy him with the -2.5 handicap to beat the struggling Peter wright whom I fancy for relegation this time.

  2. Scott Allot 9 years ago

Jim, Anderson didn’t play particularly well against Taylor last week and admitted as much after the match. Wright is good on his day but of course Ando on form would have the beating of him. Always the chance for a good few draws on the card too as u point out

Having another go on an overs game acca after today’s profitable near miss:

Wawrinka v Garcia Lopez over 21.5 games
Lajovic v Verdasco over 21.5 games
Chardy v Simon over 22.5 games
Bolelli v Raonic over 22.5 games

    pays 10/1

    Good luck people

GUillermo Garcia Lopez to beat Stan Wawrinka @ 10/3

I didn’t actually get to see GGL play last week on his way to the title in Zagreb, but it’s safe to say he’s a man in form. Stan took 3 sets to beat Hata Galung today and he is neither a man in form nor a player in the same league as GGL. Stan got past GGL in a tight 4 set match in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and there must be a chance it will swing the other way this time, especially now the Aus Open feel good factor isn’t with the favourite.

  5. Shotty 9 years ago

Ad just so ive got this right if the match ends 6-2 6-2 6-2 for example then im guessing the overs bets win? So basically as long as the underdog wins at least 2 games a set its a winner?

  6. Scott Allot 9 years ago

Shotty, these tennis tournaments are only first to two sets rather than three

    • Ad 9 years ago

If only they WERE best of three, I’d be a rich man! Shotty, as Scott says they’re best of three, so, for example, in the Wawrinka v GGL match a 6-4, 7-5 win or a 6-3, 7-6 win for either player would be the minimum requirement.

    • Ad 9 years ago

*^If only they were FIRST to three, not best of three I mean!

Mladenovic to beat Safarova @ 2/1 WTA Antwerp 14:30

This looks a pretty good price for a player who’s lethal indoors when on song. She beat Safarova in their only ever meeting last year and has a win here already this week to help her settle in. Safarova is coming off the back of a really disappointing 1st round exit to Shedova at the Australian open. Her match before that was a disappointing three set defeat to Stosur having beaten her the last 5 times they met in straight sets, and her match before that was an even more crushing loss to Serena Williams. Not that losing to Serena is ever a disgrace, but it was the best chance she’s ever had to beat her and for the most part she played well against what was a slightly out of sorts opponent and had the win in her sights, but she choked when it really came to crunch time. Three demoralizing losses on the spin aren’t the ideal preparation for this one, and Mladenovic can win this if she plays a clean match.

  8. Ad 9 years ago

I also think Pospisil + 5.5 is a pretty massive mark for the handicap on his match with Murray. Murray was great today but Mahut is a dream matchup for him whereas Pospisil actually had weaponry to hurt him and shorten points more effectively. 4/6 for +5.5 is one anyone who thinks Vasek can manage a 6-3, 6-4 or better.

Every bet down from the Hawks being outscored 28-16 in the 4th quarter. Fantastic! The break couldn’t come soon enough!

      I know man, rubbish
I had them on the ML with Cav’s HT/FT double – could you be any safer !

Like I just cant pick a winner at the minute, everything I touch is beat !

  10. Ad 9 years ago

And one final one for the stats fans:

In his last 15 indoor hard court matches, Milos Raonic has not once beaten his opponent by more than 3 games. This is due in large part to the fact he is brilliant serving but relatively weak at returning, and both those aspects of his game are emphasised on a really fast surface. Bolelli is more than capable of holding serve after serve against Raonic if he bowls up with his match face on, and Milos being taken to three sets by Kuznetsov today, and Bolelli’s 6-3, 6-1 drubbing of Rosol (and perhaps even his recent Aus Open grand slam doubles success) gives hope he can make this one close. And even if I didn’t think he had a chance, that 15 matches stat is too glaring to ignore!

    Bolelli to win + 3.5 games @4/5

  11. Ad 9 years ago

Sorry, I made a mistake there and it’s meant to say 12 matches not 15. And I also forgot to take yesterdays match into account! Which despite dropping a set he did win by 5 games.

  12. Abbas 9 years ago

Ad who do u think will win Rotterdam

  13. Ad 9 years ago

I tipped Raonic at the start of the week as I figured he’d most likely make the final. Murray looked very good against Mahut and seems the most likely winner of the top half, though I’ll reserve judgement on that until ive seen Berdych play. It’s also possible Muller could beat Raonic 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 serving like he is so all in all, not sure! Gun to my head, Murray. How d’you fancy?

  14. Abbas 9 years ago

It’s hard to say but Murray looks the part on paper, will be interesting if berdych and Murray clash again, I feel Roanic needs a bit more time, I’m a massive fan of roanic the only thing that worrys me about roanic is the backhand, especially against top players they hammer it, mueller is very impressive but again id like to see him play the likes of Murray who won’t be be scared to take on his serve,
As Berdych won this last year and the form he is in I woudnt pass on him atm

  15. Abbas 9 years ago

Ad, 1 price I like atm is Andy Murray to win the french open, he has got the tools to win the french

3 teams won on the road , only 2 away teams covered the spread (spurs , pacers)

only 3 games went ova the total the total spread

Thinking this is how important the ML is , and how sometimes bookies have way too much confidence in their points total , sticking to the home court advantage unless player news dictates otherwise.

    • Ad 9 years ago

You have to just keep in mind that overs aren’t that easy to predict and an acca of four picks close to 50/50 is supposed to land once every dozen times or so. Obviously by picking well I hope to bring those odds down a lot, and I think every one I pick has a good chance of landing. But around 8 losing 4-folds in a row followed by one winner means profit at those odds so it’s not the sort of bet you put much on or put too much stock in landing everytime. It’s just a little bonus bet.

    • Ad 9 years ago

As for Seppi, it’s a risky one as if Berdych plays well he will win 2-0 on this surface, but if he isn’t at his best, which he might not be as he’s not played here yet, then Seppi could nick one. Id probably guess 2-0 Berdych if I had to predict a score thoigh.

  28. Harry 9 years ago

Re-posting this as it’s early and I’m very confident on it With both teams at home and in very impressive form.

Australia are 2/1 favourites for the tournament and have a complete hold over England at the moment, beating them in 3 ODI’s in a row recently and being at home the conditions will suit them. England lost their warm up game yesterday to Pakistan.

New Zealand are looking very impressive lately and are also co-hosts so will be playing at home in favourable conditions. They’re a lot of people’s dark horses for the tournament. They recently beat Sri Lanka 4-2 in an ODI series and comfortably won the match played at the stadium this one will be at.

Pospisil v Murray is now 4/5 for Pospisil +5.5 games. Hopefully he serves first in the opening set and manages to keep it tight for a while. Despite playing very well, Murray didn’t look unbreakable against Mahut yesterday, and if Vasek serves well he should be able to notch a fair few holds. Mahut’s serve allowed Murray into every single service game, but Pospisil has a much bigger serve and if it’s going well there should be cheap points and easier holds of serve.

    • Jack 9 years ago

Ad, or anyone for that matter I prefer shorter odds bets. I was just looking at the Murray game. 2-0 Murray is 1/3 do you think he’ll do it?
Also both players to hold their first service game is 3/10. Murray the better play but if Pospisil has a good serve it seems decent?

    • BRIAN 9 years ago

Can only get +4.5 for 11/10 on bet365 and skybet so ill have to give it a miss.

    • Ad 9 years ago

Those odds are too short for me to want to go anywhere near them! Murray 2-0 is the likeliest score but I wouldn’t back him with the stake needed to make a decent profit at that price in this matchup. Neither would I back both players to hold first service game at such short odds. Every player start slowly sometimes from time to time, and both these guys have the game to punish the other if they do. Obviously the likeliest outcome is both those bets land, but personally it’s not something I would have enough faith in to back. I’d take 2-0 Murray if I had to take one.

    • Jack 9 years ago

Alright cheers Ad, no I’m trying to stick to shorter stuff really after a bad run. It’s worked a treat the last few days. I think I’m going to pair it with MvG (I’m better with darts) to make an evens shot.

    • Ad 9 years ago

Sorry I don’t mean overs, I mean handicap. But Pospisil did just miss a ludicrously easy put away volley to go 40-0 up on Murrays serve so I have a feeling it might be one of those days!

  43. Ad 9 years ago

Pospisil threw in five or six terrible backhands in the last couple of games which cost him what was a 50/50 set til then. Looking good for your 2-0 Jack. I need Vasek to get 4 games this set now for my handicap bet. At least he’s serving first.

  44. Bullseye 9 years ago

    Premier League Darts:

    1) Wright vs Anderson, highest checkout Peter Wright 5/4
    2) Van Gerwin vs Bunting, most 180’s Van Gerwin 10/11
    3) lewis vs Tayor, draw no bet Lewis evens
    4) Wade vs Huybrechts, draw no bet Huybrechts 5/4
    5) Chisnel vs Van Barneveld, most 180’s Chisnel 4/5

All five as singles with a 2 & 5 double.

Wright, although very poor last week, has always been known as someone who can take out big checkouts and under pressure. He has taken out many ton plus’ over the years from all over the board and I feel of the two, Wright is likely to win this battle of the outs.

Van Gerwin and Bunting are both well known as heavy 180 scorers but Van Gerwin has the unique ability to raise his game against good opposition, which will likely result in more 180’s for him than Bunting.

Lewis vs Taylor will be a great battle. Taylor did not look at 100% last week. He started of slow, did eventually get going but left it too late for a victory or draw against Anderson. His mother recently died so that could explain some of his form but he is still playing some good darts. Lewis quite frankly looked possessed last week. He registered a 114 average, the fourth highest in premier league history and of course is now managed by Kieth Deller. I feel if Lewis gets in front early, there could be no stopping him, even by Taylor purely due to his power scoring. Lewis has traditionally performed poorly in the Premier League but this year I get a sense that he really wants to make an impact.

Huybrechts looked very much at home on his Premier league debut last week registering an 102 average and giving MVG a stern test. Sometimes Wade can take a while to get going and if that is the case today then Huybrechts could punish him because he is consistant power scorer.

Chisnel should resume normal form and win the 180 contest against Barney. Chisnel only registered one 180 last week but it was very much out of character, possibly due to the match with Wright being of such a poor quality that both players brought each others games down. Chisnel was the premier League’s top 180 scorer last year with nearly 50 maximums.

    • De Niro 9 years ago

Ad I know where your coming from buddy,
& with my recent 2-0 failure rate backing the opposite of what I plump for could be the route to riches.

Fancy the enigma Fognini to wake up and start to play sooner rather than later,

and if Dolgo is fit fancy him to get the better of Tomic,

on current form Tomic and Schwartzman would be the calls,

But I def fancy Fognini to remember he is world class on clay, and Dolgo to show Tomic is mediocre.

    • Ad 9 years ago

      haha.
but yeah, it could definitely happen. As you say, Tomic is pretty average unless he’s in front of the Aussies down under. And Fabio is more than good enough to win if he’s motivated. I’ll be interested to see which Fab turns up.

Afternoon Guys Premier League Darts week 2

    MVG V Bunting

Regulars will know I am a MVG guy, last week only the brilliance of Aidy Lewis kept the spotlight off the worlds No1 performance. He averaged a 107.5 in beating Huybrechts. MVG has won the last three meetings between the two and he won the tour events in Wigan at the weekend. MVG hit only 2 maximums in 10 legs last week but hit 11 x 140s I think he can cover his O3.5 maximum line at 11/10 Various.

    MVG O3.5 TOTAL 180s 11/10

    Lewis v Taylor

Aidy was the star of the show last week averaging 113.80 in a 7-1 blitz of Barney. He now faces his mentor Taylor and I think he can win again. Last year Taylor started the league off slowly and last week and he missed tops to get a draw with Anderson, in the past he wouldn’t let an opponent off and is starting to miss doubles more than were used to seeing over the past few months. He didn’t score that heavily but still averaged a 104. Lewis beat Taylor in last years premier league and these two normally serve up a treat. Lewis on the double chance is 4/6 at Betvictor, but I will take him draw no bet at 11/10 with the same firm. There is usually fireworks so between these two and O6.5 match 180s could go nicely over it is 11/10 Skybet.

LEWIS DNB TO BEAT TAYLOR 11/10
    O6.5 TOTAL MATCH 180S 11/10

    Wade v Huybrechts

The toughest game of the night to call, however I think Wade will win. Wade made his return to the Premier league last week and got a draw against his friend Bunting, whilst the “hurricane” ran into one in the form of MVG. I think this will come down to finishing and that why I like Wade. Huybrechts was at just 23% while Wade was up to 46%, Wade has won 6 out their 9 meetings including the last three, if he gets in front early I cant see him slipping up on his doubles. Wade is 11/10 Coral, Paddy Power.

    WADE TO BEAT HUYBRECHTS 11/10

    Chisnall v Barneveld

Chizzy won last week with an average of just 94 as he never got out of first gear to be fair he didn’t really need to. RVB went back to his old ways of nodding his head and looking disinterested in his loss to Lewis. RVB is unbeaten in 6 out the previous 7 matches. I fully expect this to be a close match a draw wouldn’t surprise me, especially with Chizzy scoring power it will be hard for RVB to break him. Last year they drew and RVB won 7-5. I like the draw but don’t want to get done 7-5 either way so I am taking O11.5 at 6/5 Coral and O3.5 Chisnall 180s at 10/11 with the same firm.

    OVER 11.5 LEGS 6/5

4/4 after the Clippers won, thanks to a Piston’s implosion in the 4th quarter. Tonight I take the Cavs +3 points at odds of 1.54 against the Bulls. Injuries I reckon may outweigh the home advantage and extra rest the Bulls have had. Jordan, Huggy, Attila, would love your thoughts.

    Alright lads

On the most 180s markets tonight

4 trebles on Anderson, Chisnall, Huybrechts and Lewis

    Looks safe to me

    Good luck

  53. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

    Cheers for the praise Huggy.

Its down to your advice that i have got sounder picks.

Im thinking home court advantage is key especially when teams are certain of play off spot a lower team with decent point spread at home could turn them over.

  54. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

Ha ha Jordan my praise of you was for previous night.

These teams that are deffo in play offs can be hit and miss like Hawks.

Im looking at teams on edge of play offs and with home court.

Your tips are ace Jordan and you will be back bashing soon.

    Cricket World Cup

    Ireland to reach quarter finals

    9/2 Ladbrokes

Four teams from pool A and four teams from pool B will qualify for the quarter finals. Pool A looks pretty straightforward but pool B might see an upset; South Africa, India, and Pakistan should all qualify comfortably as the top 3 seeds.

West indies are the favourites at 2/9 to qualify for the 4th spot and Ireland are next at 9/2. West indies cricket however is in an absolute mess at the moment. They’ve got a young (23YO), inexperienced (26 caps), nobody in Jason Holder as captain and the selectors have dropped two of their best, most feared, players in Bravo and Pollard. They’re hugely relying on the explosive ‘gun for hire’ Chris gayle, and if he misfires, they’re hopeless. Combine this with the fact that Ireland often cause an upset and beat teams they aren’t meant to (Pakistan 2007 world cup, England 2011 world cup), there is a genuine chance of another upset here. Ireland, packed with experienced players from previous tournaments, pulled off their latest shock win, against Bangladesh, in their warm up game to this world cup just yesterday with a 4 wicket win. With west indies winning just 1 of their last 7 ODI’s, I see a nice bit of value in them failing miserably to one of the ‘minnows’ advantage.

Why did I go for overs in the Kerber match and not just back the Schiavone handicap?! I thought she had a chance which is why I went for it but I never thought shed blow Kerber away! First Muller now Schiavone blowing an overs bet the unexpected way. Going to stick with handicaps from now on.

  62. Don_Corleone 9 years ago

I’m new to this site, always research my bets and only post if i am confident so going to put a few of my bets up and see how it goes.I do all my bets with Bet365 so will post there odds although you can shop around abit if you like.

Atlanta Hawks ML @ 10/31 LOST
GS Warriors ML @ 1/5 WON
Radu Albot To Win Match @ 4/11 LOST

Treble pays a tad Over EVENS *LOST*

I could post reasoning behind my tips but i always do my research i can assure you. I prefer to go with low odds at a larger stake as i personally have been pretty succesful with this over the years, some people look for value so each to there own, i also look for value here and there, so here is a TIP i think is worth risking a couple quid.

    Double Result:

DET Pistons to win 1st half – SA Spurs to Win the game @ 17/4*LOST*

Its an offer i cant refuse

An Alternative Double i have staked on also tonight is:

ATL hawks ML @ 1/3 LOST
GS Warriors Halftime/Fulltime (double Result) WON

    Pays @ EVENS *LOST*

(Not a fan of -handicapps myself only +Double Digit handicaps i will look at)

Anyway there is my whole essay for you guys good luck with any bets you are on

Its safe to say that iv had better nights but guarantee i will bring it back, not much going tonight really but will dig a little deeper to see if theres anything i fancy.

  63. leecunliffe 9 years ago

Salford v St Helens Rugby League

2 anytime scoeers for me tonight, Ben Jones Bishop was the only bright spark for Salford last week, the big off season signing from Leeds will score plenty this season and its shade of odds against at Paddy Power. Johnny lomax is back to fitness this season and will score plenty this season also. If a gun was to my head id take Saints -6 on the handicap but just 2 bets tonight for me

Tip – Ben Jones Bishop anytime scoer 11/10 at p power
Johnny lomax anytime scorer 7/5 at p power

  69. Don_Corleone 9 years ago

Here is my only bet of the day, may have a look at the NBA later but not really much in it and could go either way.
im having a stake on this..

    Basketball/Euroleague:

    Barcelona Vs Galatasaray

    1st Quarter Spread

    Galatasaray +4.5 Points @ 9/10 with Bet365

Barcelona are the better team here but 1st quarter is only 10 minutes and i dont think personally barcelona will get off to a great start, galatasaray usually do well at the start of games so +4.5 points for 10 minutes @ 9/10 seems decent enough value for me. nothing much else really that catches my eye so good luck with anything you pick.

  70. Shotty 9 years ago

I actually fancy salford +6 tonight, got some good signings in and its another year of the team playing together, if they want a good season home form will be key and i think they will put in a good performance tonight against the saints!

    Salford +6 at evens

i like the look of cleveland -2.5 for 10/11
and cleveland first quarter 3 or more 6/4

im not a nba expert but from what i can tell, cleveland are the better team in general and in form and will rise to the occasion tonight.
    thoughts ?

  76. De Niro 9 years ago

Can’t hit a 2-0 this week and not covered when they have won 1 set wither.
Cant see the wood for the trees sometimes.

Going to sit back and wait for Isner and Warwinka to win their tournaments to bring home the 34/1 double to save the day this week on tennis.

    Mlac

    I fancy Cleveland ht/ft ..5/4 bet365.

Yes i am going against the home team and yes Bulls can win.

My reasoning is Bulls have been up and down in recent times..and Cavs are playing some of the best stuff at the minute.

I hoping for them to race into a lead and hold onto it.

Small stakes as it could go either way..no NBA for a week due to All Stars game after tonights match up.

  78. Ad 9 years ago

These aren’t so much tips as an optimistic attempt to end the day on a high!

I did predict Raonic to win the tournament at the start of the week so I’m not getting too involved stake wise. But Bolelli to win @ 4/1 and 2-0 @ 17/2 for small stakes interest take my fancy. If he loses the first set but looks in with a shout then I’ll back him in-play @ what will probably be around 10/1. Bets placed far more in hope than expectation.

  79. mlac 9 years ago

i fancy that as well m8, agreed it will be close, but bulls are also missing 2 guards…that does not bode well Vs lebron.

Cleveland to win First quarter 10/11
Cleveland 3 or more Fq 6/4
    cleveland -2.5 10/11
    and wetlettuce hf/ft 5/4

  80. Don_Corleone 9 years ago

i did say that my previous bet was my only bet but after looking at the odds for a cleveland win think il stick my winnings on the following.

    Cleveland Cavaliers @ Chicago Bulls.

Cleveland Cavaliers MoneyLine Win @ 5/7 With Bet365

Chicago Bulls 3 wins in its last 5, although not against the best of teams in the Orlando Magic & Sac Kings, Cavs have a 4 wins in there last 5 record with 14 wins in there last 15, Love is in question weather he will play at the moment but bulls also have hinrich and butler probable to play. Chicago are rested, cavaliers will be tired and im going against my usual strategy here of not backing against the bulls when they are underdogs and going with the cleveland cavaliers to get the job done even though they are away from home the head to head this season shows played 3, cavs won all 3 so im taking the moneyline, cavs are on fire and i think they will sort the bulls out.

  81. Don_Corleone 9 years ago

mlac dont expect the cavs to dominate this game in all quarters, cleveland are coming of a back to back away from home against a rested bulls team looking for revenge. saying that im going completely against what iv just said. :)

So simply, thank you, credit goes to you all.

  89. DK 9 years ago

Bullseye, ive seen some bad tips in my time but 0/5 takes things to new levels

Now going to take some time to recover those loses. Thank god the crickets starting.

    • Bullseye 9 years ago

Sorry DK. Last week I got 5/7 but this week I was unlucky on a few. Wright very nearly got highest checkout at 130 but missed his dart on double 8. MVG and Bunting both had four 180’s a piece so lost MVG most 180’s. I would’ve thought after Lewis posted a 114 average last week that he could’ve at least got a draw of Taylor but he never got going. Also Chisnel has now lost the 180 contest for two weeks in a row when many people tipped him to win. Hopefully next week will be better.

Read statistics that before the allstar game (the last 21 times or so) always the away team won the match.
I do a little fun bet tonight, putting some money on

    Cavs winning by 1-2 @ 10/1

  95. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

Well done Arch and other Darts tipsters.

  96. thechief 9 years ago

Evening Guys, the darts were a bit of a one sided affair tonight with only the last game, which I tipped going the distance. It was 50% for me tonight but with winners all tipped odds against meant a profitable night. Lewis disappointed he had chances early on and should have been 3-0 up, but that darts, so I will take 50% and profit everyday of the week.

Liverpool will be rocking next week MVG v Anderson is going to be a cracker. Well done to Scott on his double and all the other winners. Mine are listed below, without the write up, you will all be pleased to know :)

    MVG O3.5 TOTAL 180s 11/10
