NFL week 14 kicks off tonight with a crunch clash between two AFC high fliers with plenty at stake.

Oakland Raiders currently hold the No.1 seed in the AFC but could lose it to Kansas City Chiefs with defeat at the Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs, 9-3 for the season so far, are favourites at 71-100 with Marathonbet to take the points tonight while the Raiders (10-2) are 16-11 outsiders at Unibet.

Other sporting highlights today include Test cricket – India v England fourth Test action – plus NBA and tennis so feel free to add your tips and thoughts.

They look heavy favourites, as do Cambridge in the wonens. Might double them up.

Jordan whats your opinion of the Patriots chances of winning the AFC championship without Gronk?

    • Jordan 2 years ago

Gronk is a big loss don’t get me wrong, but Tom Brady is arguably the best QB in the league right now and is still scalping teams for his deflategate redemption. Still the AFC team to beat for me.

      • john smith 2 years ago

Thanks mate, i have a season long bet on them to win AFC but Gronks loss gave me the jitters lol.

    Cavs@Knicks over 206.5
    Blazers@Bucks over 206.5
    Warriors@Clippers over 217.5

I have just woke up, first four have won and last selection needing 28pts with 6mins remaining I have cashed out for 50% win

    *HALF WJN*

Taking it as a sign that I’ve woke back up to cash it out. Back to sleep and hopefully I wake up later to the correct decision.

P.S sorry Raoul but I thought the Warriors would stamp their authority tonight just like Thunder/Cavs the other night, big sides are putting their foot down now.

Well done guys with the winners, Doesn’t seem to me any shock results tonight so should be plenty of winners hopefully.

    • raoul duke 2 years ago

I appreciate what you’re saying but Clippers are one of the big sides.

They’re certainly a much better team than Thunder this season. And they’ve beat the Cav’s at home 1 week ago.

It’s still early days in the season, alot can happen. Warriors won’t go undefeated from here, that’s for sure.

    LA Clippers +4 @ 1.90 (Bet 365) – *LOST*

    Bucks -1.5 @ 1.90 (Bet 365) – *WON*

    Celtics -1 @ 1.90 (Bet 365) – *WON*

The Clippers game didn’t go to plan, but doesn’t matter. As I said the ML was small stakes, so main bets went 2-1 on the night. Smaller profit than last night, but I’ll take it.

I set myself a personal challenge to get to 30 wins before 25 losses. Almost there.

    Updated record

    Wins – 29
    Lost – 24

Thanks for the bucks tip mate- unlucky with the clippers for a full house.i can feel a full house coming from u though…??..??

      • raoul duke 2 years ago

        No prob mate.

Clippers was a high risk bet for sure, but I stand by my reasoning.

NBA card looks a little tricky tonight…. first glance my only lean is for the Grizzlies…

        • the lucky filipino 2 years ago

Yeah true that mate..if it wasn’t for that slow start reckon they would have kept it close though..grizzles ML look good alone at 4/5 ..any injuries ?

          • raoul duke 2 years ago

Yeah, they have a few injuries mate, Mike Conley being the biggest loss.

I do still like it though, Randolph has returned, Gasol playing well… and the Grizzlies are always tough to beat, they seem to find a way.. winning alot of close matches.

Portland ain’t a great team to back on a b2b either.

    Challenge Cup Rugby

    Gloucester v La Rochelle (7.45pm)

Gloucester have been in good form recently after a poor start to the season. They welcome back a host of internationals into the team which may disrupt the harmony but should add extra strength and class. In Greig Laidlaw they have a kickinh machine who will ensure an extra 6 points from penalties.

La Rochelle are going well in the Top 14 French league. However, they have had a couple of disappointing away results recently, not even getting on the scoresheet against Bordeux.

The same fixture gave us a 20 – 10 win to Gloucester and I would expect something similar tonight.

A huge game in the AFC West tonight where the 9-3 Chiefs host the 10-2 Raiders. If the Chiefs win here they go top of the division with their win over in Oakland in week 5, which could be huge as to who takes the West after the final game of the season.

The Chiefs will have Maclin back at WR which is a big boost as he is their best receiver, but players such as Hill and Kelce have stepped up in recent weeks, so the Chiefs passing attack could be better tonight, but I don’t think that’ll matter too much. Last week the Raiders were shredded for 182 yards on the ground by Buffalo and on the season rank 4th worst rushing defense, tied with the 49ers at 4.9 yards per carry to opposing backs. Spencer Ware had a 163 yard game against the Raiders in Oakland with 24 carries and 2 receptions, so it is clear to see the Chiefs had a running game plan for this one. I can’t see much changing tonight at home. The Raiders despite being one of the most potent offenses in the league still have a very suspect defense and have allowed 67 points in the last two weeks.

The total to me seems fairly low but I think the main factor is such a big divisional game, odds-makers think it will be tight. Oakland are 10-2 on the over for the season, 4-1 on the road over, and 4-0 as the road underdog. Kansas don’t trend as an over team being 4-8 this season, but it’s worth noting that two of their three divisional games have gone over, which was in Denver against a very good defense, and at home to San Diego in week 1. I do like the total of 46 to go over. The Chiefs despite their under trend have still given up at least 19 points in their last three games, and with Oakland knowing this game is huge you can expect plenty of trickery from Jack Del Rio, as well as Andy Reid on the Chiefs sideline. Both defenses have the ability to turn the ball over too, more so Kansas, but both sides have top 10 pass rushers such as Mack, Hali and Houston.

The total has dropped from 47.5 to 45.5 in places which shows sharps are on the under but if anything I’d say this goes over. I’d be inclined to take the Chiefs total of Over 24 at PP or Marathon Bet who are offering 20/21 with all offensive options available, but I’m stick to props.

With Spencer Ware’s big game in Oakland I think he gets another 100+ scrimmage yards at home. If the Chiefs get close to the goal line look for Ware to get a score. He was held to only 52 yards last week but still found the endzone on a run and pass.

Spencer Ware (Kansas City Chiefs) Over 90.5 Rush & Receiving Yards @ 17/20 @ Ladbrokes – 4 points

    Spencer Ware Anytime TD @ 11/10 @ 365 – 2 points

    Spencer Ware Over 14.5 Rushing Attempts @ 5/6 @ PP – 3 points

  14. Jordan 2 years ago

Reading here that Marcus Peters lines up at LCB on 90% of defensive snaps, with Oakland’s Amari Cooper playing 70% of his routes on the right side of the field. This was evident in his line against Kansas in week 5 when he secured 10 receptions for 129 yards compared to Crabtree’s 2 receptions for 10 yards. 365 look to be the only bookmaker who takes these things into account, offering Coopers yards at 78.5 @ 5/6 compared to the majority of bookies offering 66.5.

Obviously taking Ware on the rush props and I think the Chiefs eek out a close one, but Cooper will need to be Oaklands savior. He has only gone over this total in 5 of 12 games this season, but has had 100+ games in two of three divisional match ups.

Amari Cooper (Oakland Raiders) Over 66.5 Receiving Yards @ 10/11 @ William Hill – 2.2 points

    • cocoforza 2 years ago

Hi Jordan, recently joined and loving your tips on nfl/basketball as I don’t have a lot of knowledge as i mostly bet on horses and football. I noticed that bet365 are doing The Amari Cooper receiving yards at 78.5. ive backed your bet and also under 78.5 with a chance at both bets landing with also a minimised loss if only one comes up. Keep up the good work mate.

      • Jordan 2 years ago

@cocoforza don’t take this the wrong way but backing the under was a bit of a dumb move as you’re essentially backing Cooper to land somewhere in-between 65 and 79 yards, which isn’t impossible, but you have no cover. Just take the over in future mate. Cheers for the post and good luck.

I’ve been told this is a good bet:

    Thoughts on it?

Derek Carr under 276.5 passing yards 9/10 at 365

    • Jordan 2 years ago

Not sure who’s telling you this is a good bet mate but it genuinely depends how the game goes. As I said yesterday I very rarely back under. It’s like you’re betting on something not to happen which defeats the object for me. I do believe Carr will have to throw the ball more, and the Chiefs haven’t been great against the pass. They’ve given up the most receiving yards on the season, the most in the last four weeks, and second most in the last two weeks so whoever is claiming this is a good bet must have some sort of viable reason, because I’d back the over if I were to but I fancy my four bets a lot more.

      • attiladathrilla 2 years ago

Partly right Jordan – its betting on offense not to happen, but is betting on defence to happen :-P

    NBA Player Prop Bet 08/12

Andrew Wiggins (Minnesota Timberwolves) – Over 19.5 Points @ 1.83 (PP)

Andrew Wiggins returns home tonight when the Timberwolves take on the Raptors.

Im hoping that Wiggins has a big game in Totonto, he had 2 decent games against the Raptors last season, scoring 26 in both.

He will be a favourite amongst the Canadian crowd, and will undoubtedly want to put some points on the board.

    last one

Portland Trail Blazers @ Memphis Grizzlies

    Pick – Trail Blazers -1.5 @ 1.90 (Bet 365)

I know I was leaning Grizzlies earlier, but I’ve changed my mind.. when you look at the amount of injuries they have, I think they’ve been somewhat lucky to win 4 in a row, they were all very close games. Philly were without Embiid and Okafore and they only won by 5 points.

I think the Blazers will bounce back. Better team on the night.

    Good luck all tonight.

  37. maxxxx 2 years ago

Morning all, it is your main man Max here, with my TNF tips to share. The AFC West is on the line here and believe you me, these to franchises hate each other. They are both now flying in the West so this rivalry is intense. This will be a proper smash in the mouth game. Houston v Mack who comes out on top could be the big key here.

I personally like Oakland. They do not qualify for my “unloved dog” of the week as the bookies only make Kansas favourites as they are at home. If this was in the black hole Oakland would be favourites. Kansas have a solid QB in Smith, Oakland have the X factor at QB in Carr. Kansas have a dual threat RB in Ware, Oakland have the same in Murray. Kansas have some deep threats, while Oakland have Cooper and Crabtree. In football terms this is a local derby and I am with Oakland. I think they can win straight up, but I am taking them on the handicap at +3.5 at Evens Marathonbet. Oakland to score O18.5pts is 1/2 Skybet.

My 1st prop tip is baby Gronk to cover 62.5yds. He as gone over 100yds in his last 3 games and while it could be a tight game Ware out the backfield and Macklin going deep opens up the under routes to Kelce. He can make YAC so hopefully he will be the focal point of this Offensive and cover. He is 10/11 Various. For Oakland I can see Murray covering his line at 58.5yds. He is averaging 55yds per game but on the road on a short week in a huge divisional game you have to establish the run, Murray has to be accounted in passing situations, and if Carr can get Cooper and Crabtree going Kansas can stack the box. I take Murray to go Over at 5/6 PP.

In the anytime market, I can both defences making big plays so field position could be crucial. As I said above both these sides have dual threat RB’s so I am taking them both to score to what as been a stellar season for both. Murray is 23/20 Bet365 while Ware is 11/10 Bwin.

    Max’s TNF Tips

    Oakland +3.5pts 1/1
    Oakland O18.5pts 1/2
    Kelce O62.5yds 10/11
    Murray O58.5yds 5/6

    Anytime you like for Max

    Murray 23/20
    Ware 11/10
