ARE you willing to put your trust in Norwich? A few weeks ago the answer would have been no but after a seven-game unbeaten run they look a good bet to beat Sunderland on Sunday.
Norwich have beaten Man Utd and last week drew at Everton during a great spell which has come after new boss Chris Hughton found his feet in the Premier League.
On the other hand Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is the sack race favourite after one league win in eight attempts and consistent problems when it comes to scoring as was highlighted by the midweek 0-0 draw against QPR.
City were as big as 13-10 when the prices came out now 11-10 at Betway. I'm willing to risk them as my Super Single as I bid to follow up Saturday's success with Blackpool who did go off at 13-10.
In the Championship I'll be on Cardiff at 13-20 to extend their 100 per cent home record and in the FA Cup MK Dons should be too good for AFC Wimbledon at home.
The big Scottish Cup tie between Hibs and Hearts could go either way so best bet could be a red card in what promises to be a fiery affair. That pays 21-10 at William Hill.
Rangers beat Elgin 5-1 in the league so will expect a convincing win in the Cup at Ibrox. The Gers are just 1-10 to win so look at over 3.5 goals at 4-5.
Anyone after a handicap treble could consider Rangers -1, MK Dons -1 and Dutch fliers Vitesse -1 at home to Roda.
Cardiff kick off my treble and I'm adding Fiorentina v Sampdoria and Wolfsburg v Hamburg. Fiorentina are on a great run with five wins and a draw in their last six and they should see off a Samp side who have lost their last two on the road and who went down 5-1 in Florence last season.
Wolfsburg let us down in midweek when they crashed at Borussia Moenchengladbach but I'm willing to give Das Bost and co another chance at home to Hamburg.
The Wolves are a side on the up with three wins from their last four at home and they have the firepower to take care of a Hamburg side who are improving but still showing signs of inconsistency.

Nice tips Mr Fixit but I am very doubtful about the Italian match (fiorentina vs sampdoria) match-fixing in that division during the past has put me off
Mister Mr, it’s been cleaned up a bit and anyway it’s more likely to happen at the end of the season when something clear-cut is at stake, for example a team needing to win to stay up. But if you can’t trust a league then steer clear of it. I’ve done OK on Serie A this season.
I fancy Norwich to win too but only by 1 goal , it will be a tight match .

In relation to the 2 corner bets I would say YES they look worthy winners, Newcastle have only been out cornered at home by Spurs & Norwich and won the other 5 home games , they have won the rest, Wigan have only earned 20 corners in their previous 6 away games, Newcastle have hit 46 from 7 home games. Wigan have not won one corner count away from home this season. (approx as im reading my stats quick but it should be right) As for the Norwich corner count its not as clear cut but strong enough to make a case, they have won 3 and lost 2 and drew 1 at home but if you look at who beat them it makes better reading as they fell victim to UTD, Arsenal and drew with Liverpool. They averaged almost 8 corners against the weaker teams – (23 from 3 games) as for Sunderland their corner count aint that good. They have lost 5 and drew 2. The 2 draws came against Stoke & Fulham who would be poor teams for corners. They have only hit 17 corners in 7 away games. The only peril here is their average has increased of late but still only 13 in their last 3 games. In short i would say the home corner double is a good runner and i would say this double is worth a 2.5 pt stake with 5 been max bet. Hope this is of help.
Paddywack, that’s a great help. It’s a market I don’t look at very often just because it’s hard enough keeping up to date with the basics. Interestingly was watching the Hearts v Celtic game in midweek and at 4-0 they put up a corner stat. 7-1 to Hearts so it just shows you can be dominate and score goals without forcing too many corners.

Smiler, haven’t really looked at correct scores for today. Again because they’re difficult to predict it’s more a market for people trying to land a big one. The bet you’re talking about is a good one though and it’s one I prefer on favourites when you can maybe go 2-0 3-0 4-0. For anyone who doesn’t know you take three scores for three games and do 27 cross trebles.

Andy, Hibs v Hearts is a game I’m having difficulty in calling. Maybe it’s because Hearts have been so dominant in the derby for so many years. This is probably Hibs’ best chance for a while and the prices reflect the recent history of the fixture.

Chris, the kick-off spread can be good or bad. Builds the excitement if the first few come in. It’s funny though because I was trying to avoid a late game but the listings I have give Fiorentina kick-off as 2pm instead of 7.45 so if the first four come up it’s a long wait or a chance to hedge bets.

Hi Paul, sorry about the corners bet in the Norwich game. An early goal was not good for this bet. I don’t tend to go for this type of bet as they are venerable if a team scores early, it was the same when Spurs scored twice early mid week against Liverpool as they ended up out cornering them 12-1. Spurs tend to win most of their corners especially at home but the bet becomes a little dodgy with early goals. I tend to do the overs line and look for 2 teams that play with wingers and are generally offensively minded. I keep all the stats for the Premier & most of the stats for the lower English Leagues, so if ever you want a helping hand just ask as I read your blog every day. Best of luck Paddy.
