THE Thursday night NFL showdown features the Rams who could be playing their last game in St Louis ahead of a potential move to LA.
They've had a dismal season but are aiming to finish their home campaign with back-to-back wins when Tampa Bay Buccaneers come calling.
The Rams are 4-5 at totesport while the Bucs – whose play-off hopes are still alive – are 5-4 at Betway and over 41 points pays 22-23 at marathonbet.

Other prop thoughts faired half and half. Gasol ended with 22 so just short, Butler smashed his, Durant fell short by 5 I think but didn’t play a minute of the fourth and posted the Thompson points late on and he’ll probably get hit total. Decent night. Well done to the winners.
Quite a biased pick here but I have my reasons. Last week at the Lambeau the Pack were favoured by about a TD against a very good defense in the Dallas Cowboys who are ranked in the top 10 on the season. Our Head Coach Mike McCarthy finally gave in to what the majority of our fans wanted, and took over the play calling duty in which it made a heck of a difference. We took away the Cowboys pass rush and linebacker Sean Lee out the game with a run heavy offense and it worked, with over 200 team rushing yards and winning 28-7. This week we’ll be heading to California to face the Oakland Raiders who are fresh off a win in Denver against one of the best defences in the league. The Packers are only being favoured by 3 points and personally I believe this is a gift.
A few things to take note of the Raiders win in Denver. QB Brock Osweiler was making his fourth career start and despite having a ton of success in the first half through the air, the Broncos only led at HT by 12-0 from four field goals despite making two trips inside Oaklands 30 yard line. If Peyton Manning was playing I’m pretty sure he could of at least put up two TD’s in those four trips into Oakland territory, but needless to say it didn’t happen. Another crazy stat is that Oakland were held to MINUS 12 total yards in the first half which is an NFL all time record. So the second half starts and the Raiders drive down and get a TD in 5 minutes to make the game 12-7, back in it. Denver go three and out on their next three possessions, and then a loose snap goes into the end zone and is recovered by an offensive lineman who is then tackled for a safety, 12-9. On Oaklands next possession they punt the ball away which is then fumbled by Sanders and recovered by Oakland on the Denver 11 yard line, with Oakland scoring a TD with the great field position, go for a 2 point attempt which fails, Oakland lead 15-12. Denver then drive up the field and miss a 49 yard field goal that hits the upright which could have tied the game. The Raiders then miss a field goal themselves which gives the Broncos a chance to tie or win the game again and Vernon Davis drops a pass right on the money on 4th down, which sees the Raiders able to kneel out the clock and take a W home with 126 yards of total offense and eight first downs. ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIX!?
The Packers defense isn’t the best and we let the Cowboys break out a few runs on Sunday, but I’m pretty sure that Rodgers and our offense with McCarthy calling the plays can easily go into Oakland and get a W. If we win here we will clinch a playoff spot, and if you look at our schedule, on paper its our easiest game remaining. Next week a tough match up in Arizona against current NFC second seed in the Cardinals, then a division game at home against the Vikings who will be out for blood after we beat them in Minneapolis a few weeks ago. Previews will tell you the journey and time zone might factor against the Packers, but we came here against the 49ers and won 17-3 in October, which was an earlier kick off of 6:00PM GMT, with this game kicking off at 9:25PM GMT, the Packers shouldn’t feel too jet lagged. One player that the game plan will be planned for is defensive end Khalil Mack who had five sacks on Osweiler on Sunday. Expect another heavy dose of Lacy and Starks to stop Mack from getting to Rodgers and causing any damage. I’ll be interested in the props for Lacy and Starks but for now I’m going to take us to cover the 3 points.
The Raiders rank 25th in total defense, 28th in pass yards against per game at 7 yards per attempt, 12th in rush yards against but 19th in yards per carry at 4.2. Oakland are also averaging 25 points against them per game. It might be slightly tougher than the Cowboys game being on the road, but three points isn’t big against a team who aren’t likely to make the playoffs in my honest opinion. Another fairly big factor is they have a divisional game next Thursday at home to the Chargers which is Christmas Eve.
So that’s the theory. Hope it pans out well.

Golden State Warriors NBA Championship Winners @ 15/8 @ Ladbrokes – 5 points for now. There isn’t a team who can keep the pace with the three point shooting. Defend all you want but Curry and Thompson are the two best shooters in the league. Listen up San Antonio. Health will be key which is why I’m only staking 5 points as there is a long way to go. Crazy how they were 9/2 in February earlier this year though. Cavs were favourites right up until the start of the playoffs too.

The most frustrating thing for me about last night is that I’ve actually been working on a new system, taking a theory from my day job, and incorporating it into the betting world, hopefully to improve both money management and selection.
It’s early days so I figured rather than jumping straight into it, I’d trial it for a week in the background, no bets..
But I just worked out that had I trusted it last night, I would have finished 7.7 points in profit.
I guess on a positive note the system has shown promise instantly.
Unlucky Raoul, picking 3 underdogs was maybe a bit too much.
In the end, Nets missed the cover by 1 point (so it was close). Mavericks/Blazers got beat by a better team, the fact they were playing away might not have helped either.
Very true man, Nets was my most confident and wasn’t far off. Dallas and Portland were just straight up bad choices, no excuses and I stand by my selections.
I’m switching things up from here, slightly different approach and a new system that showed awesome results (albeit very early days) We’ll see.

Please keep stakes sensible. I’ve had a couple of big wins this week and just trying my luck at what I think are good value bets.
Can’t quite nail down a bet for tonights NFL game. The Rams are literally the most inconsistent team in the NFL. One week their offensive line looks horrible and the next Todd Gurley is having 140 yard games. Their defense is fairly good however with the likes of Aaron Donald at nose tackle and Robert Quinn on the defensive end. They hold teams to an average of 20 points per game. They also held Megatron to one catch for 16 yards on Sunday.
Tampa have been better than last year but are still fairly unreadable. For instance they lost against the worst defense in the league on Sunday, at home. Vincent Jackson is out for the season so Mike Evans will likely be double covered for the majority of the game. I’m not a man for unders but I don’t think we’ll see too many points tonight.

Outside of those I don’t have much interest. Might take Gurley on a small stake but that’s only because he’s in my fantasy team and I’m starting him this weekend. Outside of him they have little to no offense and he’s one of the best rookies this season. Certainly the best rookie running back.
Some tough looking NBA games too. Might even watch the Cavs/Thunder game over the NFL tonight. KD vs LeBron. Match up of the year so far! Actually think the Thunder might go and win but that might be a biased call. Over 101 Thunder points perhaps.
Jordan, it’s a tough game to call. I looked at the unders myself but I’m not a fan of backing unders in anything I’m going to watch.
For me the fact that the Bucs struggled so much last week (against a much worse defence) and are away from home swings me towards the Rams.

As I said before there is very little interest in tonights NFL game from me but a market I have found might be worth a small stake which I will take for interest, but in all fairness its not a full blown tip, just something I’ll take while probably watching the NBA. Tavon Austin is quite the versatile receiver for St Louis. Whether its kickoff/punt returning, catching passes deep down the field or even rushing on a trick play which he tends to be involved with a fair bit. He has seen at least 5 targets in three of his last four games with 4 rush attempts in two of his last three. Total yards from scrimmage over his last eight games add up to 59, 38, 96, 21, 23, 81, 129, 64. So this total has landed in almost 75% of those last eight so for a small stake I will take this. I actually think Tampa could win this which makes a case for the Rams to throw the ball more which is probably a recipe for disaster, but I’m literally up in the air with this one. Slightly annoyed that there are no markets for QB Jameis Winstons rushing yards as I can see him taking off a few times tonight with pressure likely to be on him from the Rams D line. Think he is great value for a rushing TD too @ 6/1 @ Paddy Power

Jambo the trouble is he doesn’t get as many looks as LeBron and Love. His shooting is unbelievable at times but when taking him you have to hope he is on fire. At least with Love and LeBron you know they will get the most shots. Especially with OKC playing who have a good range of 3 point shooters.
