SATURDAY started well with Zlatan Ibrahmovic scoring first for PSG in the French Super Cup to bring up an 11-5 Super Single.
The Daily Double also came in early at 7-4 thanks to Spurs against a weakened Celtic and Derby to beat Rangers.
Next it was the turn of the Top Treble, a fairly safe one at 11-10, with wins for Dundee, Hamilton and Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup.
I also put up five homes – Dundee, QoS, Stranraer, PSG and Steaua Bucharest – and that came in at 9-2.
PSG kicked off the Euro treble with their win but it was let down by Stromsgodset who drew at home to Sogndal and it was two out of four on the both teams to score treble.
I've had a look at Sunday's card and my first tip is a both teams to score double. A game that always catches the eye is Viktoria Plzen v Jablonec in the Czech league. The last six fixtures have totalled 30 goals and 12 of the previous 13 have seen both score.
Add Start v Molde from Norway. The last five meetings in Start have seen both score and eight out of 10 in total. These two have been picked on stats alone and the double pays 6-4 at bet365.
For the Daily Double I'm staying in Norway with Odd Grenland and adding Ferencvaros at Papa Lombard. Odd have lost just once at home and meet a Sandnes sitting at the foot of the table with one point from eight away matches and having lost their last five.
Ferencvaros have won their last seven league meetings with Papa by at least two goals and won on their last five trips to their rivals who opened their Hungarian league campaign with a 3-0 defeat at Videoton while Ferencvaros were winning 3-1 at Kecskemeti. The double pays just under 1-1 at Mcbookie and BetVictor.
I'd be interested to see what people feel about Zwolle v Ajax in the Dutch Super Cup. Zwolle's 5-1 cup final defeat of their illustrious opponents was one of the shocks of the season and it was their first victory over the Amsterdam giants.
We know Ajax had a bad day at the office and I expect Frank de Boer's them to gain revenge but are they too short at 3-10? Anyone who thinks lightning can strike twice can consider Zwolle at 9-1 with bet365. It's been pointed out the game is in the Amsterdam ArenA and Ajax are missing their World Cup defenders so both to score could be the best bet.
Feel free to add your own tips and thoughts with some of the info on friendlies absolutely priceless. I might put up more later but there's not a lot standing out today.
Bruges should beat Lierse but are too short and others that caught the eye were Astra in Romania and Ventspils in Estonia.

I’ve had a look at the Swedish league tomorrow and I’ve spotted the Elfsborg vs Atvidaberg match.
From my research (on Soccerway), Atvidaberg haven’t lost against Elfsborg home or away for 4 years (the last 6 meetings have provided Atvidaberg with 4 wins and 2 draws, winning their last 2 away games at Elfsborg).
Atvidaberg or draw = 12/5
Just wondering if anybody knows of this being a bogey team or anymore about the league, as knowledge of injuries/suspensions/transfers can always sway this. Elfsborg also have a European tie midweek after coming off a win midweek. Possible tiredness?

TommyTucker, it’s a good spot but Atvidaberg haven’t been in the greatest form generally.
Elfsborg do not play until Thursday in the Europa league away to FH but they won the first leg 4-1 so they should be ok today.
Elfsborg will be looking for the 3 points to take them to joint 3rd for a european place.

However Ajax are known for conceding goals and seeing PEC Zwolle scored two goals against Hannover in a friendly around a week ago I reckon they will also score versus Ajax. last 3 h2h have seen btts. Dean – Just a small correction. Ajax had by far the best defense in NL last season, conceding 28 in 34 matches. Opposite to what we’re used to from Ajax we won the league in the defense and not by scoring 100+ goals (around 70 iirc).

My tip of the day is in Latvia 1st league with Rezekne vs Salaspills (forgive the spelling). Rezekne are the highest scorers in the league and they face opponents who are near the bottom of the table and tend to concede a few against the top sides. The home team have scored 4 goals in 2 home matches in the past week.

I was at the emirates cup yesterday and based on the performances and the strength of the teams played I fancy Arsenal and Valencia both to win. Benfica were terrible yesterday and as Valencia managed a couple against a good monaco side. Falcao looked off the pace after just coming back so don’t expect him to do too much today against a much sharper and possibly stronger arsenal. Also Alexis Sanchez is expect to play at least 45 mins today.

Wakefield have won five drawn once and lost once since new head coach James Webster took over. They are the 23/10 outsiders at Paddy Power and get a 8pt start on the handicap at evens Coral. It is a tough one to call as Huddersfield are very inconsistent. I personally fancy the Wildcats on the start as they have beaten Wigan, Leeds and Warrington under Webster.

tomekplnd, Krasnodar are scoring for fun at present preseason but Lokomotiv have struggled a bit. The head to head is good but I would not bet on the game as I would not be confident enough but would not put you off for a small stake, even over 2.5 might be safer? St Gallen v Luzern, could well go BTTS mate so a small double wouldn’t do any harm in my opinion.

Might as well throw Terry Butcher’s name in to the mix of former SPL managers to have had the job or are linked to it. Kenny wasnt given enough time at Rovers in most peoples opinion especially as it seemed at the time that he was being undermined by some players. As a reaction to that arguably premature sacking conversely Croly was given too much time as odd decisions/tactics/signings/team selection or whatever persisted. To the point where all bar Rovers fans were thoroughly enjoying the Tallaght dramas (not an obsession but almost compulsory car crash type viewing). Players being loaned out with a very good possibility that the umpteenth last throw of the dice signing was going to be inferior – and for significant outlay; Marquee signings like Quigley and Zayed no longer at Tallaght, an exceptional squad looking paper thin… Even the whole Rovers B and the ‘incredible’ amount of work that TC supposedly gave there but them going 9 or 10 games without even scoring, and to think so many of us were upset by the advantage Rovers B could be. Unless TC really has put in place structures that will one day reap benefits the current Board of S Rovers will be seen as those who squandered what should really be a period of fairly sustained domination of the league. Instead since M’ON its been a bit of a giggle. Sooo a massive decision for the Rovers suits now and one they cant really afford to get wrong or give too much time to, or sack to early, or give such enthusiastic post match interviews or do most of any of what TC did actually. Fenlon would be the safest choice in theory for stability and competitiveness if not in a very fancy way. Anyone else, unless an outstanding candidate from outside the league, is on a hiding to nothing! Bet Louis Van Gaal is kicking himself for taking the Old Trafford job so quickly now!

A very good question Harry. Looking at the league and how they performed last season then yes without a doubt but only if Jeffries stays as manager. My worry about the lower divisions is a decent manager could be enticed away mid season to the league above if someone is sacked and Jim Jeffries fits that bill. My head says Dunfermline will win it though and I would see Peterhead coming second mate.

Kevin, stats as in head to heads, recent form for both and try to compare it with the calibre of sides each have met and finally gut feeling, the most important of all mate. Any doubts at all then avoid it. Won’t get them all correct but you will avoid plenty losers.

Kevin, simply look at opponents home or away form depending where they played, home or away mate. Some sides score and concede plenty some don’t. If a teams last 2 away games were 2-2 and 0-0 the no scoring may be against a strong defensive side so it is possible to ignore that if upcoming opponents are weak in defence. More you study the more you learn mate. Good luck.

kevin, it’s about looking firstly at form and head-to-heads. Team news and at this time of the season transfer news is vital but not always easy to find. I also check prices and finally as raaljaca said earlier a bit of gut feeling is involved.

Yesevil- if your still around mate sorry for the late reply. I can see where your coming from in regards to the Chivas game, i was almost tempted to do a BTTS & 2.5 double with both MLS games. I stuck with just BTTS in the end. Past H2Hs point to goals but i did notice Chivas have only scored 8 at home all season and are reliant on Torres to score. Dallas have drawn a lot away from home but have enough in their locker to at least score I think. Barring the last couple of games at home Chivas do have a tendency to concede. Chivas have also conceded 6 in their last 2 games be it away from home and I will be interested to see if they try and keep it tight in the opening stages. So all in all i think you have a chance but Ive just gone a little safer thats all. Also if you fancy Chivas to score get on Torres anytime. Hope this helps a little, sorry if this is slightly jumbled- posting in off my phone! :-)

Jasper, I found something similar in the Brazilian league earlier on (Sport Recife match). Made no sense why the team with shocking form were favourites so I backed the outsiders on a draw no bet scheme…needless to say the team made favourites (who had shocking form) won 3-0. No idea what was going on! I’m going to stay away from games like that from now on.
