THE Commonwealth Games has been massive for Glasgow but as a betting event it's not quite caught my attention – there's been too much football to look at.
I've put up six singles – three losers and three winners. Yesterday I was on Ryan Bester to win the men's singles bowls against Darren Burnett but the Scots cop put on a super show to strike gold. My boxer did win though – India's Devendro Laishram at 4-9 but he is a massive underdog in today's final.
The boxing finals are one of the highlights of today's action and my one tip is David Light to beat Samir El-Mais – if only to say Light's the heavyweight champion. He is 2-5 with firms such as Betfred and William Hill. Anthony Fowler has been backed on the site to win the middleweight final so that's one to watch.
The athletics at Hampden finish tonight with Usain Bolt 1-6 with Coral to win gold with the Jamaicans in the 4x100m relay. It's his unless there is a disqualification. The Jamaican women are even shorter at 1-7 with Coral for their race.
In golf my tip Justin Rose lies second at the halfway stage of the Bridgestone Invitational while Ace Venturer's picks Graham de Laet, Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy are all in contention.
Put up any other sports tips here.
Games tip
Light to win heavyweight gold
(2-5, Betfred, William Hill)
On the Commonwealth boxing I really like the look of Kennedy St Pierre against Nyika in the light heavyweight final. With 2 knock outs in his previous 2 bouts, the semi final particulary impressive against the Welsman Thorley, St Pierre carries a lot of power and Nyika can be hit and will not like the highly aggressive Mauritian.
Nyika looked tidy in his semi but was not troubled at all against the smaller McGlinchy and was content to score with jabs at a safe distance, and St pierre has shown that he will take a punch to get inside where he can unload the big shots.
Nyika is favourite but I can see St Pierre catching him early on and 11/5 (Boylesports) looks a great price.
good to see you getting some nice winners in the games paul
ive been really enjoying it
fancy Australia to win both mens and womens hockey and womens netball as well
wont be great prices but the treble will do nicely
