THE main event in the sporting calendar today is the US Open and Andy Murray is back in action against Russian Andrey Kuznetsov.

I tipped the Scot to win in three sets against Matthias Bachinger in the previous round and I'd be surprised if it wasn't another straight-sets win for the seed who is just 1-14 at boylesports to win the match.

Ad's been leading the way with the tennis tips so watch out for his comments and those from others contributing.

The Italian Open golf continues with Stephen Gallacher needing to make eight shots up on the man in second spot to earn an automatic Ryder Cup place and later there is action from the Deutsche Bank Open in Boston where some of the leading Americans are trying to impress US skipper Tom Watson before he names his three wildcards for Gleneagles.

Meanwhile, if you have tips on any sport put them up here.

Please also remember, I have written a betting masterclass on how to pick a winner when betting on golf so check that out!

  2. Iddy 4 years ago

I haven’t done half as much research that I normally do do these aren’t tips, just what I’m putting my money on tonight.

    Yankees @ Blue Jays
    Yankees @ 1.83

    Indians @ Royals
    Royals @ 1.7

    A’s @ Angels
    Under 8 @ 1.83

    Good luck everyone.

I will be on below match-ups, winners in capitals:

    MONDORY v Maes
    STUYVEN v Debusschere (single @ 1.80 with 888Sport) WIN! :)

    Double @ 2.39 with 888Sport (Bet365 @2.27) LOST :(

Mondory was with the second group due to the crosswinds which split the peloton. Shit happens.

Catalan Dragons v London Broncos ko 5pm

The Sky cameras head to the south of France for the Saturday night Super league match as Catalan Dragons hope to take a strangle hold of a playoff berth, which as come under threat as they have lost 3 of their last 4 matches.

London have only won one game all season, that coming last week against a Leeds side who rested a whole host of players prior to the cup final. The Dragons could not have hand picked a better side to stop their slide, and should win this well.

In the try scorer market five of Catalan players are big odds on to score anytime so it pays to look for a player to score 2+ in a game were the scoreboard should be turning over regularly. Morgan Escare is competing to be this season top try scorer but he is 5/6 in this market. It wouldn’t surprise me if he did score a few tonight, but I like Elliot Whitehead at 3/1 Skybet. Whitehead has scored 17 tries in 21 games, scored a brace 5 times this season, including against the Broncos earlier this season.

Good luck if your having a bet

  7. nexus 4 years ago

    Cat are -36 @ 1.91

  8. nexus 4 years ago

I went for that as Catalans home ground is hot and humid this time of year and I think broncos will collapse in the 2nd half.

  9. thechief 4 years ago

    Escare 2+ 5/6 already landed

  10. Ellis 4 years ago

    Hi there folks,

I am going to play devils advocate and the majority of sites I use are heavily tipping

nick Kyrgios to win vs Tommy Robredo 5/6

Although Kyrgios is on the form of his life I think the experience of Robredo may come to play. He also has had two very tough opponents already and he is arguably having the best year of his life.

    Worth considering AD?

  11. thechief 4 years ago

Nice one mate, looking good for you :)

  12. Iddy 4 years ago

Ellis – Kyrgios has drifted to 1/1 on b365.
Having said that I think he will win, maybe in 4 sets.

  13. nexus 4 years ago

    Back them now -50points @1.91

They are currently 34-0 up at start of 2nd half.

  14. Ellis 4 years ago

Iddy I’m tipping it at 70% or in RP terms 2 point stake on Robredo

  15. cooldude 4 years ago

Add, how are things in the US, where abouts are??

  16. Ad 4 years ago

It’s gna be tight but I wouldn’t want to back against Kyrgios as if he has his head screwed on and serves like he did last round he can blast past Robredo. While his comeback was encouraging v bolelli, the fact he needed 5 sets isn’ tipped kyrgios yesterday so I’ll stick with that. Might hold my main money back for in play though. Momentum will be huge in that matchup

  17. Ad 4 years ago

I’ve just arrived in NYC and see isner has gone 2-1 down v kohlschreiber. I’m going to back him to win set 4 7-6 @ 5/2.

  18. Ad 4 years ago

Dude I’ve just arrived at the apartment in Harlem. Not off to the tennis till Tuesday but really excited a it it all. Just saw Kvitova fell in straight sets earlier. The madness continues. Serena is loving life right now.

  19. Iddy 4 years ago

Sorry about my tip – can’t believe Dellaqua beat pliskova who was terrible
    Kohl just won wow

  20. Iddy 4 years ago

3 years in a row he has beat Isner now.
How many sessions u hoping to get to Ad? Have u already got your tickets??

  21. Ellis 4 years ago

Really don’t see how Kyrgios can be the logical one to back

  22. Ad 4 years ago

Id- I’ve got tickets for last sixteen mens/ men and womens quarters/ womens semis and mens final. can’t wait to get started.

Ellis – I’m not sure one pick could be called more logical than the other in this matchup. They’reat opposite ends of their careers, have never met before and have very different games and a very distinct set of factors going for and against them. There is no set scoreline tonight that would surprise me. Either could do it in straights, either could do it in five. Maybe the safer bet is Robredo, but the fact is if Kyrgios plays to his potential he can hit Tommy off court so I’m reluctant to bet against him. A lot of people thought Seppi would be too experienced and consistent for the youngster, and toook how that turned out. As I say, If kyrgios doesn’t turn up or loses heart he could be handed a lesson, but personally I’m leaning towards the Aussie. Either way it should be an entertaining game, and I won’t be risking much on it

    Easy money.

I think ever since Kyrgios went on his little run , Robredo is the player with the most similar game. Very agile across the court with power to his game. Kyrgios was a poor price should have been 6/4 minimum

  25. Ad 4 years ago

if you were thinking ‘easy money’ when Kyrgios went a set and a break up in spectacular style, or when it was one set all and he was a mini break up in the tie break at 4-3, then I’m impressed by the strength or your convictions. I think everyone else who hadn’t already thought it before hand were thinking ‘kyrgios might win this’.

Mr F- I will keep my eyes open for him. Think he may be heading home as soon as I get there though with Jo Wilfried itching to upset the Scot again!

  26. Ad 4 years ago

Just a quick one from me but it has to be
    Bautista Agut

    Yankees @ Blue Jays
    Yankees @ 1.83 *LOST*

    Indians @ Royals
    Royals @ 1.7 *LOST*

    A’s @ Angels
    Under 8 @ 1.83*WON*

1/3 last night. Yankees couldn’t score a single run losing 2-0 and royals lost in the 11th innings by one.

    Yankees @ Blue Jays
    Under 8 runs @ 1.95

    Twins @ Orioles
    Orioles @ 1.57

    A’s @ Angels
    Under 8 runs @ 1.74

    Good luck.

  28. Ad 4 years ago

I can’t tip him as he’s just not reliable enough, but I think monfils will beat Gasquet today. he’s showed more than enough this week and beaten him twice on hard this year already (one on indoor hard) – best price 9/13.

Sharapova 2-1 also has to be considered (though I promised not to touch the women anymore ;) )
Errani, jankovic and Safarova would be my other picks, but I’m not brave enough/ stupid enough to take them.

Simon @4/1 looks a little overpriced (though I tipped ferrer to make the semis and I’ll stick with that)

Good luck to everyone today. I’ll be interested to see what Ellis and Id and others have to say on today’s matchups

Thanks for belittling me. In a five set match it’s never over

  31. Ellis 4 years ago

Sorry I misread your comments. I’ll apologise

    My double today would be

    G Monfils win vs R Gasquet 8/13
    F Lopez win vs D Thiem 4/6

    Double around 3/2

  32. Ad 4 years ago

Simon eases to victory over Ferrer. I tipped Ferrer to make the semis but after the way things have panned out this week I thought Simon was big at 4/1 and that proved to be the case. Cilic is through which makes up for Ferrers exit a he was my other mens outright tip. Sharapova had contained the trend if seeds falling in the womens draw, though you couldn’t really call this one a shock considering how things have been going. Hopefully Safarova can get past Peng tonight to take advantage of a weakened bottom half.

  33. Ad 4 years ago

    Okay Ellis,
Looks like a solid double. My only doubts about lopez stem from that poor display against Dodig, but he should have to much guile and experience for thiem at this stage of his career and at this stage of a grand slam. Hopefully Monfils turns up with his head crewed on tight. good luck

Tonight I fancy a Wawrinka and RAONIC double

However nishikori has been playing extremely well. Just worried he may find himself out served

    Any thoughts

  41. Iddy 4 years ago

Well I didn’t get time to post yesterday – which was lucky for everyone as my double was Ferrer and Sharapova.
And the 2 other singles I liked I never bet on – fed over 29 games and Monfils win.
Also woke up too late for Mr oranges cycling tip so not a great day yesterday.

  42. Iddy 4 years ago

Ellis I agree with u on Warinka but not sure on Raonic. Think Nishi will beat him, think he has his number.

  43. Dazzler 4 years ago

    Yankees @ Blue Jays
    Under 8 runs @ 1.95 *WON*

    Twins @ Orioles
    Orioles @ 1.57 *WON*

    A’s @ Angels
    Under 8 runs @ 1.74 *LOST*

2/3 not a bad night. Angels game finished 8-1 with 2 runs coming in the 8th innings, which was annoying. First game starts at 18.35 (bst) so I’ll try and be back before then with some more. It’s transfer deadline day though, so I’m trying not to be too distracted from my research! Apparently man united have paid £20m for Falcao on loan, unbelievable Jeff!

  44. Iddy 4 years ago

Ad – what u on today?
And what matches u going watching today at the open?
I have been twice to US open but never got to a night session. Almost went to see Fed v Haas one year but Haas pulled out beforehand so we never went to that session.

  45. cooldude 4 years ago

Ad cannot believe Wozniaki beat Sharapova. Im delighted for her and its a match Im going to watch online for sure. What price was Wozniaki?

  46. Iddy 4 years ago

Cooldude I think she was around 6/4
It was expected to be a close match, think shazza was 4/6

  47. cooldude 4 years ago

    Iddy delighted for her.

  48. Iddy 4 years ago

Was a good match – I watched it and Woz did a lot of running. Might take a lot out of her for next match. She does have a good chance of getting to the final though as her side isnt tough (on paper)

    • cooldude 4 years ago

Iddy RE notice she did a lot of running. That’s the sort of player Wozniaki is imo. she’s a defender of the baseline but her fitness levels have gone up considerably this year

  49. Dazzler 4 years ago

Just the 2 from me tonight

    Mets @ Marlins
    Marlins under 3.5 runs @ 1.8

    Mariners @ A’s
    Mariners @ 2.21 *top pick*
Don’t be fooled by the price, I think the bookies have got this one wrong.

    Good luck everyone

  50. Ad 4 years ago

Novak saves set point v Kohlschreiber then breaks straight away. So close!
