THE only online bookmaker listing first-scorer prices on all SPFL games are McBookie.com. It’s a great service they provide and we’ve teamed up with the Scots firm to look at some of the best bets from the Scottish lower leagues.
Also, if leave a first-scorer prediction at the end of this article you will have a chance to win a £10 free bet with McBookie.com.
You can choose from Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two and one correct entry will be picked at random to win the prize. Quote player, team, his odds and a reason if you like.
Last week's winner after a random draw was Gazza. Send me your bookie user name to firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll arrange the £10 credit.
Meanwhile, here is McBookie.com’s Damian Walker with his Saturday selections.
Damian writes: First up I am going for Ryan Conroy to score first in the Fife derby between Cowdenbeath and Raith at odds of 10-1. Raith are struggling for strikers after Christian Nade picked up an injury in midweek and that means there could be value in backing a player further down the betting. Conroy had an excellent record at Dundee last season and has already notched three times so far this year.
Next I am going for Ryan Donnelly of Ayr against Stenhousemuir at odds of 5-1. Things didn’t work out for the striker at Brechin but he seems to have found his scoring touch at Somerset Park. He has been well backed to end the season as top scorer at 14-1 and while that may be a step too far he should certainly be in the mix.
Ayr have started the season brilliantly and should pick up another three points on Saturday – meaning Donnelly has a great chance of getting a goal
Finally, I am going for Paul McManus of Arbroath in the Angus derby at 9-2. The hitman has a great record in the lower leagues and despite reaching his 30s still knows where the goals are. The Smokies are another team who have started the season really well and with home advantage should get plenty of chances.
Remember, McBookie.com are the only online bookmaker that allows you to bet on Scorer markets in the Championship, League One and League Two.
