FIXTURE cards will become easier as the season progresses and already we're seeing some form trends.

It's still early days though and I wouldn't advise anyone tackle more than two or three of my top tips while the shop tips are for speculative gambles and to be played for loose change.

One guy criticised me for not getting the draws up last week but I don't expect them to win. A treble would be wonderful, a double passable and I only post them because I'm asked to. Don't stake any more than £1 unit stakes on the Yankees.

The tips to judge me on are the top tips and here they are. I'll post separate previews covering some of my selections. I most cases Betfred prices are quoted – in today's Daily Record you will see the best available odds at time of publication

Here we go again, wish you all lucky.

  2. ChTheScot 10 years ago

Good shout with Peterhead, I fancied them ante post to be Dunfermlines main challengers for the title, the bookies had Morton down as 2nd favs. For me Morton will be firmly mid-table.
One of the few grounds I’ve never been to is Peterhead but they seem to be turning it into a fortress. Good shout!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

ChTheScot, it’s only a good shout if they win!

hard lines as usual southampton could not score ah well maybe next week

  3. Sean 10 years ago

Like the look of those 5 homes, might put a tenner on it at 14/1, I already have backed a double of Chelsea and Southampton as my main bet of the day. Good Luck Everyone!

  4. PA 10 years ago

It’s gotta be a simple 3-0 Chelsea. Simples

  5. ChTheScot 10 years ago

Before I turn in are you serious about McCoist or on the wind up Mr F? I’m finding that one seriously hard to believe, what are the odds on that 100/1?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

ChTheScot, it’s being reported that Palace are considering him for their shortlist but it would be a huge surprise to me if he got the job.

    • Jack 10 years ago

Mr F, may I ask why you’re taking Chelsea at 1/4 when to win to nil is at evens? Not questioning you, just a wonder (I’m not a fan of backing that kind of thing myself.)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jack, because it’s on a treble and in 5 homes. And anyway while I don’t think they’ll concede they could so the win is less risky. They did of course concede at Burnley which was unexpected.

    • Jack 10 years ago

Yes, I figured that was the reason but I just wanted to know if you knew something I’d missed! Any winner is better than no winner. Again this may be something for you/others to look at further by 1st half being the most goals is decent at 2/1. Leicester will defend deep but if Chelsea get an early goal or two Mourinho will shut up shop.

  6. Greg Browning 10 years ago

No time for write ups sorry gents but here’s my thoughts on tomorrow’s card!

    Rangers over 2.5 team goals 8/11 ( NAP )

Swindon, Aberdeen, Wigan, Dunfermline to WIN

    Over 2.5 goals:

    Port Vale v Notts county
    Swindon v Crewe
    Ayr v Forfar
    Yeovil v Scubthorpe
    Derby v Fulham

    • AL 10 years ago

Going against your beloved Saints again Greg? I hope that line comes in! Ha. Hopefully we’re in for a good match today.

Not staking much in the opening few weeks of the season until we see how teams are performing. Today I’m on a treble, with a couple of other smaller stake acca’s which are worth a couple of quid

      Swansea
      Hearts
      QOS

      Treble returns 9/2

Add Dundee Utd & Afc Wimbledon for 16/1

Add Wigan & Bristol City for 56/1

      And add Newcastle for 176/1

  7. Danny T 10 years ago

If any one kind find odds for tim sherwood to be next swindon manager . It’s worth backing it as I have it on reasonably good authority that this will be happening along with les Ferdinand as assistant

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Danny T, probably won’t get the bet if it’s happening. I know Sherwood ruled himself out the Palace job though. Pulis odds of a return being cut too but surely not.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Cheers mr f . I try odds checker and google but to no avail

  8. Jack 10 years ago

Maybe its only me (and BeardedGeordie) but the fact Newcastle are drifting is beyond me. I’m not saying they’ll win, but who’s seriously back Villa at home especially against an improved Newcastle side?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jack, I’m on the draw. Villa look less vulnerable than last season and maybe the arrival of Keane has had an effect. Were pretty decent at Stoke last week.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Jack I disagree. I think Aston Villa could easily beat Newcastle with Philippe Senderos and Joe Cole the latest signings. Judging by Senderos performance last week he could be a surprise package as he done very well alongside the wall Ron Vlaar. Darren Bent and Benteke could easily score 2 or more if in the mood.

    • Jack 10 years ago

Understandable to be on the draw Mr F. Talking of the Palace job I noticed the shortening on Pulis, I just hope we don’t lose Drummy as much as I’d be happy for him.

Cooldude, I’m not saying they don’t looking better, but to say Villa could easily score 2 or more at home is a big statement. I’m not saying they can’t but they managed it last season vs City, Hull, Norwich, Cardiff and WBA. I really can’t see them winning, with everything going on around me, maybe I’m mad.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Jack, everyone has their opinion but I think Villa are stronger this season.

    • PA 10 years ago

Jack, for past few years i’ve hated watching Villa. And always just stayed up too, wishing they just go down. Boring boring team. (No offence to villa fans)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

cooldude, they’re definitely more solid and less likely to chuck in goals. Have been poor at home to course but this game will shed some light. Right, I’m off.

    • spenny 10 years ago

Signing “hasbeens” isn’t the way to stay up. Beware Villa, its going to be a hard season. Oh, and as for Chelsea, careful.. Leicester team spirit is high and they will be no 3-0,4-0,s ! (says the Leisceter fan )

    • alva glen 10 years ago

Spenny agree don’t think Cole was a good signing for VILLA and don’t think Chelsea should have took back Drogba.Spirit may be high at LEICESTER but cant see them getting anything at the Bridge today this Chelsea team looks strong with a lot of options.

    • Jack 10 years ago

No, I agree, I don’t see a 4-0 either. Even if we get an early goal, I’d still call it only being 2-0. The longer you can hold on though you never know!
Good luck for the season ahead.

  9. Craig Alves 10 years ago

GARY BUSEY FOR CBB CHAMP 5/1 – Somebody mentioned this and if he stays in he’s a great price, he’ll probably walk or get flung out by BB becuase, let’s be serious, he shouldn’t be in there. Him or the guy gogglebox will win and if that Maloney wins I’ll be shocked!!

Anyway SUPER SINGLE ICT OVER 4.5 TEAM CORNERS EVENS, Celtic never get an easy time up there and with a crucial CL qualifier midwk bug Ronny’s no gonna take any chances

    • Jack 10 years ago

Gary, he’ll stay in because of the public but surely he can’t win!? I’d rather take Kellie at that price

  10. ChTheScot 10 years ago

True, been backing my team heavily from day one, as a pars fan I’m used to disappointment but if we don’t do Airdrie over tomorrow I’m giving up.

  14. ChTheScot 10 years ago

Could be worse for Palace, Neil Lennon could get the job ahead of McCoist!
Haven’t checked the prices but Pulis comes across as being too proud and principled to go back, for me Martin Jol looks a fair shout.

    • Jack 10 years ago

I backed Jol at 10/1 after someone mentioned him…(can’t remember who) and Drummy, he came from out of nowhere but has done a fantastic job at Chelsea, perhaps will use him to get hold of Chalobah and Bamford. Could even shock everyone and get van Ginkel…

  15. Chris Guy 10 years ago

Judging on draws is just ridiculous. We all know it’s a long shot but still appreciate your tips being put up. If you were to stop then people would also moan. What I want to know is does anyone else do a straight 4fold on the draws. Just to show people how profitable draws are I’m going to show people that all it takes is for one 4fold a season for a very healthy profit. Mr Fixit gets at least one up per year and you don’t need to be a maths expert to show that it worth it in the long run. Just look at it like a long term investment. I personally stick £30 on the draws. It used to be £20 but now I bet £30. The bet returns well over £4k. Let’s just say 50 weeks of betting on draws will cost £1500. One return per year will pay a minimum of £4k so according to my calculations that’s a profit of at least £2.5k

    • Jack 10 years ago

I don’t like betting on draws, as I like the fun element of betting too and to be honest, who cheers on a draw!? But I did one tonight with 3 draws and it was 70/1…and they were in no way ridiculous, you get overpriced odds on draws because less people bet on them maybe?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Chris, I prefer the Yankee or 3 from 4. I usually get the fourfold up once a season but absolutely no guarantee it will happen. Goodnight all.

    • PA 10 years ago

Chris, big fan of yours, but following lines like that is like putting a lottery line on and not being able to stop in case it comes in. Appreciated it’s all a gamble but that bet may not come in for years. Guaranteed week you miss BOOM!

    • Daz 10 years ago

I use to a £1 four fold on the draws sometimes use to get over 130/1 had it come in a couple of times a season ,definately worth doing as a fun bet

  16. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

    Shaun Tanner,

Here is the line-up for the Dallas match

FC Dallas Starting XI: Fernandez, Benitez, Hedges, Loyd, Watson, Michel, Ulloa, Castillo, Escobar, Perez, Akindele
Bench: Sanchez, Acosta, Cabrera, Luccin, Hollingshead, Garcia,

Salt Lake starting XI ; Rimando, Beltran, Borchers, Schuler, Wingert, Beckerman, Mulholland, Grabavoy, Gil, Plata, Findley

  17. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I hope it helps you with your scorer bets I got it from FC Dallas twitter

  18. Chris Guy 10 years ago

I know there’s no guarantee Paul but I’m more than happy to take the risk. Just keeping backing the draws until I get a winner.

    • Jack 10 years ago

Chris, can totally understand your call mate. You may only get one a season but its totally worth it as draws are over-priced. I used to do it with out of form-ish Championship/League One teams. Lost a lot of cash last season but then had a 90/1 and a 64/1 winner in one weekend haha. Not that I’d recommend it.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Chris, Mr f has to factor in not everyone betting balance is large enough for those bets although as you say money can be made if just 1 lands

    • PA 10 years ago

Chris, you are the man that has won many of us plenty on this Bet365 risk free in-play bet. I eagerly await your inplay bet mate, you value finds are brilliant

    BTTS DOUBLE 1.99/1

    • domingo 10 years ago

      NICE 1

  20. ChTheScot 10 years ago

With 3 or 4 selections being minimum 1/1 you can’t go wrong with perming them. All you need is 2 to get your money back, 3 for a little profit or all 4 for a healthy win.
Don’t usually back draws but take 4 teams min that the bookies can’t split and perm them every week.
Tomorrow it’s Arsenal, Motherwell, Seville and Burton.
You’re maths do make sense though but it could end up as a massive outlay on the premise that eventually you’ll get 4 from 4, a bit risky but he who dares deserves a few K’s return

    • Jack 10 years ago

ChTheScot, good luck for tomorrow pal, Sevilla and Arsenal draws I’m backing tomorrow :)

  21. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

  24. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

    Shaun,

I have Michel anytime @ 7.00. I have never bet Castillo although he sure has beat my first scorer a few times. I have also taken Dallas/BTTS @ 4.00

  25. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

My Pleasure, the least I can do for you, considering the amount of time you spend researching the stats.

  26. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Easy cover now in the first BTTS double posted, Loja match- BTTS NO 13/8- small bet.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Shaun, a player I rate highly in MLS is Portland Timbers Darlington Nagbe. For an attacking midfielder you could argue the 17 goals he scored from 117 appearances is not great but theres no denying his flair and ability on the ball. Just seen a documentary of him on youtube and his wife is almost as good as his football skills.

  27. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Blancos- Dallas have been in good form at home and in general but it must be noted their home fixtures have been very kind recently. Saying that weaker teams than RSL (in my opinion) have breached their defence recently. RSL do all their good work at home but their away record isn’t the worst. Recent form however hasn’t been good on their travels but I still feel they have enough up front to nick a goal here.

  28. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I agree with you, I just feel that Dallas has a momentum going at the moment that can cope with conceding a goal in this match. But on paper everything seems plausible. then within a spit second all my theories can turn to dust. Fingers crossed.

I did your BTTS double inc. Dallas

  29. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

cooldude- Nagbe is highly thought of at Portland from what I can gather. He’s a great box to box midfielder and while he’s not prolific in front of goal his golscoring record has improved gradually over the past 3 seasons. He’s still young as well, just turned 24.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Shaun, did you see the spectacular volley he scored that earned him goal of the season? Either way I would love to see him play in England whether it’s for a championship team or league 1!!

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Yeah the one against Kansas, he’s scored a few nice ones over the past couple of seasons.

He could definitely play at Championship level I’d say, I could see him at a team like Middlesbrough.

  30. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

  36. Yesevil 10 years ago

At the back end of last season I started 2 series bets (Over 1.5 Team Goals and Over 2.5 Match Goals), following the success of Greg’s series. I’ve decided to have another crack at it starting today.

    Over 1.5 Team Goals
    Single – AFC Wimbledon 1/1

    Double
    + Nott’m Forest 5/6
    Pays 2.67/1

    Treble
    +Shrewsbury 6/4
    Pays 8.17/1

    Over 2.5 Match Goals
    Single – MK Dons/Coventry 8/11

    Double
    + Wolves/Cardiff
    Pays 2.45/1

I’m also doing small stakes on a 4 fold (Minus Shrewsbury Town Over 1.5) which pays 11.67/1, and then loose change on the full 5 fold (30.67/1)

I’ve also looked at a couple of away wins, but haven’t been able to look at odds yet (access blocked at work), so not sure if I’m doing them as singles and doubles or just a double:

    Morecambe
    Shrewsbury

I’ll also be on my usual 10 fold BTTS for BetFred‘s Goals Galore Bonus (300/1 so its worth a crack), plus Greg’s, Raal’s and The Chief’s selections.

Best of luck with whatever you’re on.

  37. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Liga De Loja match- Loja to win 4/1- small bet.

  38. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Blancos- in all honesty I really haven’t seen enough of him to give my judgement, he played under 50 games in total for Sevilla so would like to see how he copes with the demands of the PL and the physical aspect as he’s only a small guy, I’d say a player with potential but jury’s still out for me.

  39. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I am off to bed. Good luck with the rest of your bets Shaun and anyone else still up.

Thanks for the great tips as usual Shaun.

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

No worries mate. Good night to you. :)

  40. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

Moreno is adored by Sevilla fans and will be sorely missed. He has an amazing turn of speed, coupled with being tactically astute. He will become an asset for Liverpool. He senses when to attack & when to defend.

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Well if thats the case I’m a happy man right now and the 12 million could well end up being a bit of a bargain, :)

  41. RealWalker 10 years ago

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Alan, I don’t do it and admin I know put it on as soon as possible.

  48. Lord Clegg 10 years ago

My six draw bet is on for today. 20 trebles and one £1 ACCA. Three up makes a profit and my draws for today are Palace, Ipswich, derby, forest, Wolves, Huddersfield. Three up in midweek and the others were 1-0s! Villa were my alternative choice.

    • Will Hill 10 years ago

I always do 5 or 6 draws either in 10x trebles or 20x trebles with £1 stakes. As you say, a treble gives a high percentage profit and you can still have have 3 or 4 losers and still get a profitable return. Example for me was Wednesday’s games. I did 10x £1 trebles on 5 draws and only Lille and Fulham stopped me from getting over £400 instead of just under £40.
      Good luck.

    • Lord Clegg 10 years ago

Teams start level and certain teams hardly ever score more than one goal (not mentioning anyone but Stoke- Sunderland- C Palace, Northern Ireland etc). These are the boys to look out for when they play other dull teams. My treble in midweek was on the MR/btts coupon and paid £47 with the other two finishing 1-0. I just picked five matches I thought would finish 1-1 or 2-2. Draws are the way to go and as someone said the bookies usually overprice them- apart from William Hill 19/10 indeed!

Thanx mrfixits today looks a good day my selection for today .

  51. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I have decided to attempt to instil some much needed discipline into my Saturday betting. To cut down from placing numerous singles and accumulators, not forgetting tweaking other tips that always seem dead certs at the time.

Usually I come online after lunchtime with 4 or 5 bets in my head, only to come on here and see 12 varying types of bets which, on paper are all rich pickings. Alas come 5.45 I have approximately 10 winning teams to my credit, only to notice that my account is still down or only showing a modest increase. That is because often the 10 winners are accompanied by 7 or 8 losing teams.

This is my only football bet until later this evening.

    DERBY V FULHAM @ 1.80
    MIDDLESBROUGH V SHEFFIELD 1.95
    PRESTON V OLDHAM @ 1.65

    Treble @ 5.80

Good luck to anyone who follows this tip and to everyone for their Saturday foray.

    • MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

      3 HOME WINS @ 5.80

  52. georgeb1994 10 years ago

I don’t understand what it means or how to perm the bets.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

georgeb1984, it’s very simple. Google permutations and give yourself a lesson.

  53. geesaclue 10 years ago

like the look of todays tips mr f especially the aways
two that stand out for me are Portsmouth who you’ve tipped & Wimbledon against a poor Hartlepool who cant buy a goal (they scored in the cup v port vale who always concede)think 10/11 is a great price
    did you look at them?

    double pays 7/2

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

geesaclue, I mentioned Wimbledon in my English preview. They were close to being the Super Single.

Bern playing it v cautiously since start of the season but still losing due to silly results. Today it stops.
Acca – chelsea over 1.5 team goals, southampton, millwall, rangers over 1.5 team goals. Just under 5/1.

  55. Max 10 years ago

What’s people think of this for a strong treble? Swansea, Southampton and watford all to win just over 4/1? Any better suggestions?

Big Col I’m with you on your shout!

  56. geesaclue 10 years ago

any reason for leaving qos out off the 5 homes mr f?

you have them in the top treble

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

geesaclue, QoS are just under evens so they’re not a banker bet. But they’ve been playing well and I wouldn’t read to much into their cup defeat by Livi at the start of the season or Livi’s win against Hearts reserves in midweek. If you ever doubt a team don’t bet on them.

    • geesaclue 10 years ago

thanks mr f wish we could find bankers every week!!!

First post on here after looking at this site most days during the football season. I usually do a couple of ambitous accas when there’s a decent amount of games but i prefer looking for value in play. Will be looking at red bull, barca and real matches in play hoping to back them to score 3 or 4 or more at decent prices. My two accas are derby millwall orient swindon wimbledon homes and palace hull wolves draws. Good luck all.

Looking at doing a ‘double chance’ coupon today. In people’s experiences, is it worth it as I’m looking at around 4 home favourites to avoid defeat for even money?

  61. Jimmy 10 years ago

Morning guys, I like the look of millwall today, good start to campaign, good manager, good squad too. Rotherham, shaky start and dodgy away. H2h favours millwall although not played for years. 21/20, good super single contender!!!

  62. tam 10 years ago

5/6 btts ict v Celtic with skybet.
Price seems big given how Celtic struggled last year after European midweek matches. Early kick off today also doesn’t help tired legs and minds at the back.

  66. Alan 10 years ago

Unproven at the highest level, his experience at managing a club (much bigger than palace) at the highest level and on a tight budget is precisely what palace are looking for. Lennon had fantastic scouting staff and attracted some great buys that have since gone on to better things and I think he would be perfect for palace.

Especially now so many have ruled themselves out! He deserves a chance in the premiership and I think he would be fantastic there. Just a shame it couldn’t be with Celtic!

Valerenga to win and Over 2.5 Goals (17/10)

I was going to take the Win and BTTS (Brann should score) but this is safer and Betway have this overpriced in my opinion – the Win and BTTS is 15/8.

Valerenga have only failed to score 2 or more goals on one occasion at home this season and Brann have netted in all but one of their away games. 5 out of 6 of the most recent H2H have seen over 2.5 goals with Valerenga winning 4 of them.

Hi all big fan of the site (but don’t tip) just a question for the scottish scholars! How are celtic away from home, should they beat Inverness? I have put them in a treble with two other winners and the generous odds of 1-2 for by far the best team in the spl seemed to good to pass up.
Question is , I guess, will they win lol?

    Cheers for any replies
    Solomon
Ps anyone’s opinion will be greatly appreciated!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Solomon, Greg has answered you and agree with him. At full strength Celtic would almost certainly win but they’re playing a weakened side without the likes of Gordon, Johansen, Berget, Stokes and McGregor so plenty of changes from the Maribor match. They can still win but it won’t be easy and remember Inverness have started the season well and lead the table.

  81. Greg Browning 10 years ago

Raal great stuff down under sir!

Solomon, they should win and even with a reserve team id expect them to do the business but it will be a close match!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Greg, Celtic’s team is close to what was expected – loads of changes but all regular first teamers except Zaluska and McConnell. As you say it should be close.

  82. Greg Browning 10 years ago

Al enjoy your trip to the shire mate :)

I donfancy you to beat us , we only seem to win the big games against you, haha! Decent price for the dons and will be roared on by 3000 reds!

    Should be a great atmosphere!

    • AL 10 years ago

Ha, was about time you beat us in a cup tie to be fair! Think it’ll be a close game, fancy us to nick it 2-1 which would do me nicely!

Was in the club shop this morning on the way down and we’ve sold around 2700 with just under 500 pay at the gate, which I’m sure we’ll sell. Enjoy the game mate, hopefully you and Mr F have a successful day, which will mean a Dons win! Ha

    Danske Bank Irish Footy Predictions:

    Dungannon v Ballymena…Away win @ 8/5
Close game on the cards expected today with early pace setters Ballymena topping the table after 2 wins and a draw,BTTS is a definate in this one as has happened in last 6 meetings and 12 of last 13,Away side welcome back Tony Kane and Gary Thompson after serving suspensions…Prediction 1-2

    Cliftonville v Glenavon…Home win @ 8/15
Cliftonville are a side i always perm into any trebles or 4folds and they very rarely let me down,My faves for the title this season should have no problems dealing with a Glenavon side they have scored 5 against in each of last 2 meetings, this side usually score for fun and very rarely concede as can be seen in keeping 6 clean sheets in last 7 premiership homes, given the stats the value bet is Cliftonville to win on a -1 handicap @ 13/10
    GOOD LUCK.

    Some thought’s for today:

    France:
*Reims – Caen BTTS @1,87 looks interesting, but since Caen’s top scorer Duhamel (2/4) is absent, I would advise against it.
*Bordeaux to win at Nice@2,35 may be something to think about, especially after their 4-1 win against Monaco, but Nice is not bad either.
*Lille at home to Lorient @1,75 is probably the safest bet coming from France today, as they will be eager to get the three points at home after their unconvincing season debut.

In Belgium, ZULTE – MOESKROEN BTTS @ 1.78. ZULTE (F5 A6) has scored in every game since May last year, MOESKROEN (F9 A7) scored 5 last week against Standard and 1 in Anderlecht.

In Russia, ZENIT to win to nil against AMKAR PERM @1.83 is tempting since Amkar has scored only one goal in seven games.

    Best of luck!

daz, what’s that 9 or 10 changes from the Maribor game? It’s hard to figure out if Celtic will be bad or brilliant. They have not surprisingly drifted in the betting with McBookie now 3-4 for anyone who fancies them. Going to watch it with Commons to score first at 9-2 with bet365 and Billy Mckay to net at any time at 11-4 with Betfred my main bets. With a makeshift defence over 2.5 goals is also likely.

    Good afternoon, everybody.

Hopefully enough form now for these thoughts to be meaningful in non-league…

    NAP
    Conference Premier
    Nuneaton Town v Barnet
I liked Barnet in pretty much every game after the appointment of Martin ‘Mad Dog’ Allen at the end of last season, and they started this season brilliantly. Nobody can explain what happened last week when they lost 2-1 at home to Lincoln, who are decent. However, despite not showing up for the first half, they fought back from 2-0 at half-time and, by all accounts, were unlucky not to at least equalise. All the noises from Allen and the team are positive and focused, and I think we can trust them to get back to winning ways at Nuneaton. Nuneaton have one point from their three games so far, and, worse, haven’t scored a goal yet. Nuneaton boss Brian Reid has brought in three players, one a 6’5” defensive midfielder, Exodus Geohaghon, whose long throws are better than corners, plus a winger and striker, both former loanees, because as Reid points out: “We need to get goals, as that is how you win games.” Logical, no doubt, but that kind of throwing everything at the wall to see if it sticks method seems unlikely to be a match for a motivated Barnet side, itching to put right last weekend’s blip.

    Barnet are 11/10.

    NB
    Conference South
    Havant & Waterlooville v Staines
Staines finished last season like a train, coming from low midtable/flirting with relegation to finish a respectable 8th. In their 13 games from the 10th March to the end of the season, they won 8, drew 3 and only lost 2. It’s worth noting they didn’t win a single away game before Christmas, but won 4 of their last 5 aways – including at Havant & Waterlooville, who they beat 2-0 in March (before beating them again a fortnight later 1-0 in their rescheduled home tie). They’ve started the new season in good form, winning two and only losing one of their first three. Last week, they beat Boreham Wood, currently third, who had been F8 A0 in their two previous games. Manager Marcus Gayle says in the Non League Paper that he’s starting to see from the team what he’s been looking for, and his im is to at least establish Staines as one of the big boys of this league. (He says ‘a Goliath’ of the league – a tad unfortunate as we all know what happened to Goliath.) Meamwhile H&W, who finished last season 6th, have no points from their three games. They’re F1 A5. Their boss, Lee Bradbury, points out that these three games have been against the three best teams in the league – Bromley, Sutton and Ebbsfleet – three definite Goliaths – but a losing run is a losing run, and one goal in three games isn’t confidence-inspiring.

Staines at 21/10 look a seriously tempting shout.

    . . .

    OVER 2.5 DOUBLE

    Conference North
    Gloucester City v Hednesford
Gloucester have scored and conceded in all their games so far – three games in, they’re F6 A7. Hednesford started with a 0-1 defeat, but they’re F4 A4 in their last two games. These teams played twice last year. Two home wins: 5-1 and 4-1. Gloucester were F36 A34 in 21 home games (avg 3.33 goals per game) Hednesford were F32 A33 in 20 away games – don’t ask why they only played 20 away – in any case, that’s an average of 3.25 per away game.
    Over 2.5 is 3/5

    Southern Premier League
    Cirencester v Dunstable Town
Two teams that are good for scoring and conceding, both played 4. Cirencester are F8 A6. (Avg 3.5) Dunstable are F9 A6 (Avg 3.75). Dunstable have scored and conceded in every game. Three games have been 3 goals, one was 6. In three of their games, Cirencester have scored and conceded. Two of those were 3 goals, the other was 8. However, the fourth game that bucks the trend was a goalless draw against table-topping Corby. They play it a lot tighter than Dunstable, though.
    Over 2.5 is 4/7

That double pays at around 2.5

    . . .

    Good luck today, everybody!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Great stuff UHT, all the best mate.

    Challenge Cup Final preview

The first piece of silverware will be decided at Wembley this afternoon as Leeds Rhino’s, face off against Yorkshire rivals Castleford Tigers. It will be the first time these two famous old clubs will have met in the final. It also guarantees that the cup will be going to Yorkshire for the first time in 8 years.

These two sides shared a 24-24 all draw a couple of weeks back and that game will be remembered for Kevin Sinfield red card for a head butt on Luke Dorn. It was Sinfield first red card of his long career. Rhino’s named their team on Monday, it wasn’t really a surprise as most people new he would pick the same team that beat Warrington in the semi final. Castleford have had big doubt over Craig Huby, the prop was named in the squad and my guess is he will play, but I would be amazed if he lasted the full 80mins.

Castleford are the Cinderella story of Super league and everyone bar Leeds fans will want them to win this. They have an opportunity to pile more Wembley heartache on the Rhino’s and the first opening exchanges I think will be brutal. As I said the neutrals at Wembley will get behind the Tigers and they will outnumber the Rhino’s fans. It makes for a special occasion this afternoon.

Who wins? My heart says Castleford, my head says Rhino’s end 6 years of Wembley pain. We will find out by 5pm whatever happens it should be a cracker.

    Challenge Cup final bets

There are plenty of markets and specials to look at, so check with your bookie to see what they are offering. Cup finals are usually tight affairs, and with this being a derby, it could pay to split your stakes on a Leeds penalty 10/1 and Castleford penalty 12/1 William Hill to be the first scoring play. Sinfield and Sneyd are prolific kickers and an early two points maybe taken just to settle their respective sides down.

In the try scorer market I like the look of both wingers on a big open pitch. The Rhino’s as I have said before on the site have the best backline in the competition, and anyone of them can score. For a single I will be on Tom Briscoe. He was the star of the show in their semi final and is often over looked in favour of Ryan Hall. He is 5/4 Betvictor. For the Tigers “the beast” Justin Carney as been more of a bad boy recently, but he is back from suspension, he has 17 tries in 19 games. He to is 5/4 again at Betvictor.

As I say there is a lot of specials out there, and out of the ones I have seen, the best one could be at William Hill who offer Ryan Hall to score and Leeds to win 11/8.

The man of the match is a not a market I play in as they are the opinion of one man, but the Lance todd trophy is a prestigious award and is always a fun bet. In the office sweepstake I drew Carl Abblett and I may get a run for my money if it is a low scoring game. I will pick a player from each team.

For the tigers to win they need to dominate in the forwards and allow the likes of Marc Syned and Daryl Clark to get the ball out quickly. Luke Dorn was man of the match in the semi final win and another big game is needed from the try scoring full back he is 14/1 Stan James and it will be small stakes for me.

For Leeds Jamie Peacock won the man of the match against Warrington as he dominated their pack and if Craig Huby isn’t fully fit which I think he wont be then JP tussle with Andy Lynch becomes even more important. However I will be on Kevin Sinfield. “Sir Kev” as he is known by the Rhino’s faithful is big game player and won two Harry Sutherland awards which is the award given to the man of the match in the Super league grand final. As I said in my preview he was sent off the last time these met and will surely be up to writing that wrong and ending Leeds Wembley woes. He is 7/1 Stan James.

LEEDS PENALTY FIRST SCORING PLAY 10/1
CASTLEFORD PENALTY FIRST SCORING PLAY 12/1
    BRISCOE TO SCORE 5/4
    CARNEY TO SCORE 5/4
HALL TO SCORE & LEEDS WIN 11/8

    Lance Todd Trophy winner

    SINFIELD 7/1
    DORN 14/1 (smaller stakes)

Good luck if your having a bet

Afternoon Guys, only two bets in the afternoon games as I will be glued to the Rugby Challenge cup. I am doing to goal scorers as single and a double paying just over 9/2.

Swansea first home game of the season after a win at Old Trafford and I like Wilfred Bony here. He as scored 5 in his last 5 games. He is 5/4 Bet365. My second selection is Darius Henderson of Leyton Orient. He should score a bagful in this league and as started of with 2 in 3. Walsall have conceded in the last 6 meetings and 5 of the last 6 Orient home games have seen O2.5. I will be on Henderson who is 13/8 Betvictor. The double pays a shade over 9/2 Bet365

    BONY TO SCORE 5/4
    HENDERSON TO SCORE 13/8
    BOTH TO SCORE 9/2

Good luck if your having a bet

I have only got 20p Raal but I will risk it on your acca :)

Challenge cup final Leeds v Castleford

Won’t bore u with write up as the chief has done an excellent job, one guarantee today is in the build up to the show it will show sheffield eagles beating Wigan in the biggest shock ever, I blame myself as it was my first cup final as a teenage lad and was wigans first defeat in a decade at Wembley but I digress….

Leeds big match mentality will be enough to see them overcome cas so couple bets for me

    Leeds (-8) evens
    Ryan hall wincast 11/8
    Sinfield MVP 7/1
    Daryl Clark anytime scorer 23/10

    Good luck and enjoy

FIDDLER’S BEST BET OF THE DAY

    14.30 HOFFENHEIM VS. AUGSBURG
    Hoffenheim to win
    1/1 (PaddyPower)

Home team impressive in preseason matches, really offensive minded and decent squad I expect strong start from them in the league. Both teams played their cup games recently, both away games, only difference is that Hoffenheim won 9:0 whereas Augsburg lost 0:1 to not that strong Magdenburg.

alec, just back from watching it. Celtic had chances in the first half but were poor after the break. I hope people took my advice to wait for the teams then back Inverness on the handicaps if Celtic were weakened. Deila’s focus as we knew would be on Tuesday and that’s quite right.

Best Super Single today is without doubt Nottingham Forest to beat a dire Reading side. Reading have lost le fondre and relying on the talentless simon cox to score. They lost 2-0 at home to managerless huddersfield midweek whereas Forest are in unbelievable form and look like world beaters under pearce. Sell out at the city ground expect a lot of noise when forest win again and stay top of the league.

    • David C 10 years ago

I was at the games today and would agree Raal; Hearts performance today was about the best I have seen from a visiting side in probably a decade or so.

Hearts played football from front to back and not a single high ball.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

David, I gave my ticket to a mate as it was a sell out but guys just back reckon we were buzzing the whole game. Neilson beat Rangers and Hibs by playing proper football and going by what you are saying it has continued today. So good to see a side doing that. Just saw Keatings free kick!! We also have Sow available next week so great selection ‘problem’ for Neilson. I said before the season started we could win this league and I stand by it as we will score goals for fun.

    DERBY V FULHAM @ 1.80 *WON*
    MIDDLESBROUGH V SHEFFIELD 1.95 *LOST*
    PRESTON V OLDHAM @ 1.65 *WON*

    Treble @ 5.80 *LOST*

Good luck to anyone who follows this tip and to everyone for their Saturday foray.

FC SEVILLA V VALENCIA 20.00 La Liga

    Sevilla to win @ 2.15
    Sevilla (-1) @ 4.00
    Sevilla/BTTS @ 4.10 smaller bet.

Sevilla has had a great pre-season, had a high intense build up as was playing Real Madrid in the Super Cup. Although losing the match, Sevilla had a good fitness level and subsequently played a full strength team 3 days later after that defeat and raised the game enough to win.
I am convinced that Sevilla’s home advantage and sharpness can see a comfortable victory against the team it eliminated from last season’s Europa League. Valencia has a new, foreign owner and a new manager, who has had a total clear out. 10 players out and 10 players in.

For me, I think it will take Valencia a few games to settle, as it has has lost the core of its team. I strongly believe that 10 new players are too many and starting a new season away to Sevilla is no mean task as Sevilla has made some shrewd signings and loans and is expected to finish fourth for CL qualification.

Good luck anyone who follows my tips.

Steua game all over away side nearing half time 1/2 for home win always seem to get the win get on happy betting

  218. Danny T 10 years ago

Raal btts in Peru would have been in first half but a missed pen denied us that so 45 mins for the home side to bag us a great end to the day :-)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Saw it Danny and would have preferred the home side to score first but here’s hoping mate. Cienciano rarely keep a clean sheet but Los Caimanes are a very poor side but do score a few goals.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

It’s been quite a one sides first half the goal was against the run on play so fingers crossed we get that goal on second half . The crowd however must have forgotten what time kick of is as I think there may be 3 people there in total:-) . Great win for hearts today also which is great just hope Liverpool can take man city on and we can sneak a point to make it a great weekend ;-)

  219. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Going for Seville over 6.5 corners at 10/11 based on last years form.

    • MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

      Craig Alves,

      that’s a good shout.

ICT corners came in easily enough, thanks for that shout.

    Huracan RT5 8/11 1-2 after 34 mins

  221. Danny T 10 years ago

Any golf experts on ? If so how likely is it that either Sergio Garcia or Rickie Fowler can win or place in the Barclays . I had a pre tournament small each way punt on them thanks

    • Ricman 10 years ago

Sorry Danny can’t see it happening both well back and too many quality players in front of them who will push the scoring lower.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Ricman thanks mate. I don’t understand golf properly so cheers for that . Not to worry it was only loose change bet to have a go at .

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Danny T, I haven’t checked today’s scores but anyone within a few shots of a place will still have a chance. There’s big money at the top of the leaderboard and FedEx points so no one will give up.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Cheers mr f I will keep an eye out on proceedings

    Carlos Bacca anytime scorer 2.75

  225. AL 10 years ago

Just back from the St Johnstone v Aberdeen game and the Saints fully deserved the 3 points today. Aberdeen were poor, probably the worst performance I’ve seen from them under McInnes. Early days but we really lacked any creativity today, hopefully something that will look to be rectified before the end of the transfer window,

How we went in level at half time I’ll never know with McLean hitting the post when clean through 1 on 1 with Clangers, who then almost gifted Saints a goal a few minutes later. Think we only managed 2 decent attempts on goal all day, Considine hitting the bar & Goodwillie’s attempt just after he came off the bench.

Good 3 points for you today Greg, and fully deserved!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

AL, just back from watching Everton. The Dons cost me my aways treble and I rue looking at team news before replacing Hearts with Aberdeen. Shrewsbury, Portsmouth and Hearts would have been a nice treble.

    IN PRAISE OF SHAUN TANNER

I went online late last night to place a FC Dallas to win/BTTS @ 4.00 and Dallas (-1) (cashed out as soon as it went 2-0)

    I made a tidy profit.

While on, chatting with and seeking advice from the walking MLS encyclopaedia that is Shaun Tanner. He threw out tips quicker than a wild west gunslinger, the Atlante tip won in less than 4 minutes?

Plus all the following that I felt obliged to take.
Atlante match- over 1.5 mg 8/13 over 0.5 FHG 1/1- smaller bet
    8/13 WINNER!!!
    1/1 WINNER!!!
    —————
Atlante match- over 2.5 match goals 5/6- small bet.
    @ 2.50

Monarcas match- BTTS 5/6 & over 2.5 mg 11/10- smaller bet
Liga De Loja match- BTTS 4/5 & over 2.5 mg 1/1- smaller bet
    BTTS DOUBLE- 2.29/1
    5/6 WINNER!!!
    11/10 WINNER!!!
    4/5 WINNER!!!
    2.29/1 WINNER!!!
    Games finished 1-5 & 1-1.
    Icasa match- BTTS 4/5
    Dallas match- BTTS 4/6
    BTTS DOUBLE 1.99/1
    ———
    That is only a snippet.

Shaun I must have won almost 10 different bets, all from your tips.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Mon and Shaun tanner . That’s some going that well done some great work there. I have also had a little of at your bacca anytime tip after landing a tidy some from Coleman earlier. I have also a few spare pennies on what I tipped up earlier with nani that’s it from me until the btts machine (raal) pops up with his next offering . Been a good day guys considering it’s the Saturday mine field

  245. alec 10 years ago

what u think tomorow mr f man utd win minus a goal

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

alec, I’m not tempted after seeing Man Utd last week. They’ll come good under van Gaal I’m sure but need more players. Won’t be easy at Sunderland.

  246. Kendog 10 years ago

Shaun T when will you be posting your Mls picks for tonight mate?
I was thinking NY Red Bulls win, New England win , and Toronto over 2.5 in a treble?

  247. The UHT 10 years ago

Not such a great day. At least the nap came in with Barnet coasting in 2-0. The NB was a longer shot, so, even though Staines failed to keep up the momentum and lost 3-1, it wasn’t a disaster. However, the O2.5 double managed two fails with a goalless draw thrown in for good measure. Poor.

Apologies DougieC – appreciate your enthusiasm! Stick with it! ;-)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Your victory is right around the corner. Never give up. :)

  248. alasu57 10 years ago

Raaljaca my man, can you give out a nice wee dbl btts for 2mrw ? Ive been knocking on the door with btts tbls, missing out on 1000’s by 1 goal over the last 5 days..Help me out mate :) :) :)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Yesevil, level stakes mate and you will be fine.

  257. Yesevil 10 years ago

My usual level stakes on yours and Gregs Raal, then slightly less on my own until I find a rhythm and research that pays off.

  258. InterYerNan 10 years ago

Get in there shaun on your o higgins btts

  259. Bookies Can Lose 10 years ago

Level stakes are important. The below 3 rules are as well:

    1) Have a clearly defined staking plan,

    2) Do not chase losses (increasing stake after a few lost selections is definitely not recommended) – that’s not easy

    3) Analyze statistics and team news before going ahead with selection – obvious one :)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

      4) Back Hearts every week blindly :)

    • Daz 10 years ago

Backed raals glorious hearts but put them in a dbl with port fail ,should’ve gone with my heart& stuck them with the mighty imps,…thinking of putting a few £ away each week on a bet for the end of the season ,was thinking of hearts to win league any other ideas

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Daz, outside of us playing Rangers and Falkirk back us -1 to win any game and you will make money.

  260. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

Valencia down to 10 men, then Sevilla bring on ex-Valencia man Banega, who valencia feel they were robbed of a decent transfer, class move. The fireworks should start. Banega to get a card for certain.

  261. BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

Raal, great win for your lot today mate and a great BTTS :)

look forward to your selections tomorrow, i have a feeling Hearts / Derby / Atletico Madrid could be the 3 banker teams for the season

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

BG, a great win but the football they played was outstanding and that is what matters. Rangers are 8/13 and we are 7/4 to win the league and I still say anybody should get on us as we will win it I am certain. Our side has really gelled and with 3 or 4 first choice players still out we will only get better and better. League Cup is to be avoided as it means nothing to us and even the Scottish Cup won’t matter unless we draw Hibs, Celtic or Rangers.

    • BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

yea im gonna avoid for sure after your advice the other night mate but ill deffo be on you boys next weekend.

i got on atletico 14/1 the minute you mentioned raal, its great odds for a team full of Work Horses, give me a team with the work hard factor then a team worth 400mil

  262. raaljaca 10 years ago

Shaun T, good shout mate on Nublense. Was on it on Hills and at 1-0 they were betting on over or under 5.5 goals but not BTTS, strange quotes.

  263. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

    Bearded Geordie,

    less of that talk !!

Hearts and Atletico in the same sentence will have Raal salivating.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Blancos, it did indeed mate!! On Atletico at 14/1 as it is ridiculous odds as well.

  264. BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

Blancos, lets be honest mate they will both dominate in there respective leagues…

atletico are 1/2 to win Monday night i know its alil short but surely a great addon to any acca

  265. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I agree they are both good additions to accs especially Atletico with Mandzukic. It will take teams a few months to even have an angle on how to contain him.

  266. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Independiante CA v Velez 00.30 KO

    over 9.0 asian corners 1.850
    Independiante RT7 small stake

yea im gonna have him on FGS on monday if he starts, ive always liked Mandzukic, would of loved to see him in the prem

  269. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Small stake in Lobos BUAP RT5 at a decent 9/4 for an outside chance

  270. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Brazilian game ended 1-1, Nublense match currently 1-1 :)

  277. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

    Mr f and Raal,

I expected Sevilla to get a few goals tonight, especially with Valencia having a player sent off.

A had Sevilla to win & sevilla (-1). You both, among others have helped me to have the discipline to use cash-out when appropriate. I cashed out Sevilla to win because I was offered around 60% profit. Then when Valencia went down to ten I was offered a cash-out for the other bet too.

I took it because I have learned on here that profit enables you to increase your balance and to bet another day.

  278. TommyTucker 10 years ago

    Hey guys,

Read the tips and profited today taking Watford as a single. Ended up placing the modest winnings on a Lille and Las Palmas double which just came in (didn’t put it up as I don’t post stuff I’m unsure about) so tripled my money today.

Just wondering with all the chat of level stakes and a betting bank, how do people divide it up? For example and ease of explanation, if I had £200 as a betting bank, would people divide that into 50 equal blocks of £4 to bet with on each bet, 40 blocks of £5, 20 blocks at £10 etc?

You guys are knowledgeable about this sort of thing and wanting to know the best way long term that even if I go through a dodgy patch, it won’t hurt me.

Thanks in advance for the advice guys. Tommy

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Tommy, I divide my own bank into 100 units and never bet more than 10 on one day which means I need 10 losing days in a row on every bet before I need to start again and it never happens.

    • TommyTucker 10 years ago

Mr F, that’s the sort of advice I was hoping for. Before you said that, I was looking at 50 equal units, but 100 will give me far more longevity. Thank you, much appreciated.

  279. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

You are too modest Shaun, just don’t allow the praise too affect your tipping………..

  280. jasper 10 years ago

Tommy, regarding a betting bank. Most people will bet a percentage of it. So the more you win, (therefore the more you have in your account) the more you bet. Generally speaking, 5% of your betting balance should be a maximum bet. This allows you to control the amount you stake, so even if you are chasing loses, any further loss wont make too much of a dent (in theory).

    • TommyTucker 10 years ago

Thanks Jasper, sound advice. Appreciate the help mate.

  281. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Fortaleza match- over 1.5 mg 6/4 & BTTS in 2nd half 10/3- both small bets.

  282. TommyTucker 10 years ago

One other thing Mr F – if I increased my betting bank through a good run, and say went from £200 to £250, would you increase the unit stake from £2 to £2.50, or would you keep the same betting unit value divisible from the starting bank or the bank you now have?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Tommy, what I do is withdraw every time the balance goes above starting point.

    • TommyTucker 10 years ago

Superb. I’ll follow your lead. Thank you for the advice. Looking forward to seeing your tips tomorrow too. Off to watch Match of the Day now and toast Watford on the Football League Show! :-)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Tommy, me too. Footie and a big bottle of Leffe Ruby, reduced to £2.50 in Tesco. I walked out wearing a mask as I felt I was robbing them.

Ken he was a key player in the goonies ;-)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Kendog, young player with 5 caps for Denmark so hopefully not a bad signing. Around a dozen new players in so far but probably take a while to gel. Delighted they got Billy Sharp as he will score a good few I reckon.

To be honest I would still be happy with that compared to what we have!!!! :) :)

  293. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

    Thanks raal mate. :)

  294. Kendog 10 years ago

Cheers Raal, its baffling the effort Cellino has put into signings and left Hockaday in charge!
….,though it does look like that might change very soon with rumours tonight he is on his way out…
The only thing is top managers that could get Leeds up like say Pulis or Mackay probably wouldnt be prepared to work with Cellino wanting to pull the strings! Though he obviously a passionate guy and is putting his money where his mouth is..

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Kendog, quite feasible Cellino wanted to sign whoever he wanted without interference from a manager so he appoints Hockaday who won’t open his mouth about anything until all his targets have been brought in then empties Hockaday and appoints a new manager to work with his new recruits. A very clever and shrewd way to go about his business.

This isn’t my main scorer bet in this game but I think it’s over priced and will be having a small stake on it if he starts the game.

Ethan Finley (Columbus) anytime scorer 9/2- small bet.

6 goals in 19 league games this season. Box to box midfielder, in the mould of a certain Steven Gerrard- not in the same class though! Scored in his last home match v LA Galaxy.

  296. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Kendog- sorry for the late reply. Your treble looks good mate, though i don’t usually do straight wins myself. GL with it all. :)

  297. Centrecircle 10 years ago

Mr f- your trip to tesco’s post.fantastic, bloody fantastic

  298. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

    MLS scorers-

    Wright-Phillips (NYRB) anytime scorer 5/6

    Higuain (Columbus) anytime scorer 6/4

    DOUBLE 3.58/1

    Nyugen (NE) anytime scorer 9/4

    TREBLE 13.89/1

    Defoe (Toronto) anytime scorer 21/20

    4-FOLD 29.53/1

PLEASE BARE IN MIND THERE ARE QUESTION MARKS OVER DEFOES FITNESS AS HE HAS MISSED THE LAST 3 GAMES SO HE MAY NOT START. MAY BE BEST TO LEAVE UNTIL HE IS A COMFIRMED STARTER OR NOT. :)

Few MLS picks from me tonight! Usually go all out with scorers but gotta few fancies in the overs department.

    New York V Montreal

By now everyone knows New York are becoming a really good team more so attacking, a lot of the time they know they can out score teams with the likes of Henry, BWP and Cahill, although most of the time they are sloppy when defending which gives the opposition a chance of breaking and scoring which has happened often this season.
BWP is short for this game at 5/6 but I will put him in a double/treble possibly. My pick for this game however is NYRB WIN AND OVER 2.5 goals. this has come up in the last 3 H2H also with red bulls being the home side.

    Toronto V Chicago

My pick for this game is straight forward again Toronto have great attacking power but not very strong defensively, Chicago have a few good attacking players and I feel they will find the back of the net at least once as Toronto have been leaking a lt of goals lately BTTS has come up on there last 5 home games and also the last 4 times these two teams have met with Toronto being the home side. BTTS 8/11 is my pick!!!

Last 2 picks no real explanation, I feel the attackers will do the talking with the likes of Dom Dwyer for Kansas City I feel over 1.5 Team goals has good value 8/11

Also Columbus at home with the goalscorer Higuain in great form I feel they should net twice Over 1.5 Team goals 4/5

Sorry to go on! Just a quick summary of all my picks!

New York win and over 2.5 goals – 6/5
    Toronto v Chicago – btts – 8/11
    Kansas City – Over 1.5 team goals – 8/11
    Columbus Over 1.5 Team goals – 4/5

    I will be playing singles/doubles

Four fold also pays 10/1 for anyone interested !

  300. Max 10 years ago

That was good timing Mr Tanner! Have mentioned both the players in your double and will be on that! Glad you agree, I’ve put up my thoughts on the games, good luck tonight pal! Will catch up tomorrow more than likely!!! Good luck mate.

jazza, I said at the beginning of the season us, Rangers and Falkirk would be the top three and I stand by that. Good young side you have like ourselves and no reason why you should not be up there at the end of the season.

    • Jack 10 years ago

My apologies Shaun, as I did say if I was held to pick I’d go with Newcastle today when you asked. They did dominate it seems but didn’t quite do enough. However I did tell you not to go BTTS so I hope I saved you losses at least. I’m sure you’ll bring me some winners tonight :)

  305. jazza bairn 10 years ago

Raal..yes I wasn’t sure but Houston was a good appointment..and the team are gelling well. Not quire as well as hearts but yes definite should make playoffs again this year. Blair Alston especially good player for falkirk this year and con or Mcgrandles has raw talent. Loy will knock the goals in all season..

  324. cooldude 10 years ago

Shaun, maybe Im been biased but a bet on Darlington Nagbe to score first 9/1 and anytime 11/4 could be a just reward. The guy is long due a goal and tomorrow could be the night.

    • Jack 10 years ago

I know zero about MLS football, but I know thins that are long over-due have good odds! Also DC United are 0-3 up at half time and ‘only’ 1/14. I know LA Galaxy won from 2 down at half time a couple of days back, and they’re short odds, but why only 1/14 may I ask? I thought they were both decemt sides.

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

It would take a big effort for Kansas to turn that around Jack. The price is possibly based on Kansas being top of the league and they are usually pretty decent at home to be fair, like I say it would take a big effort on their part. This is Kansas 3rd game in 7 days aswell.

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Cooldude- your right he is due a goal! Would like to have a better look at the game before lumping on anything.

Yeah saw NYRB goals, Henry pulled them out of a tight spot, they were very unconvincing 1st half.
