THE past two Grand Slam winners go head to head tonight in a mouthwatering quarter-final at the Cincinnati Masters.

Wimbledon champ and world No.1 Novak Djokovic faces the man who beat him to secure French Open glory this year, Stan Wawrinka.

World No.1 Djokovic has won 19 of the pair's 23 meetings and is 1-4 at the likes of Paddy Power and BetVictor to reach the semis while fifth seed Wawrinka is 10-3 at  bet365.

Both players were taken to three sets in the last round and this match to go the distance pays 9-4 at bet365.

It's also quarter-final day at the Sydney Masters darts where the line-up includes title favourite Michael van Gerwen versus Dutch countryman Raymond van Barneveld and Phil Taylor's tussle with Stephen Bunting.

Among other highlights is day two of the final Ashes Test and two Super League fixtures so let's hear your sporting tips and thoughts and good luck with your bets.

If I wake up to see Murray, petkovic and Lopez have all won I might even forget my hangover and fatigue at work….come on!

    Cubs o8.5 hits @ 1.83 *won*

    Add
    Angels o8.5 hits @ 2.05 *lost*

    Double @ 3.83 *lost*

The annoying thing is that the Angels line dropped to 7.5 a couple of hours after I took it and that would have been a winner.

    The Chief,

Was thinking of taking Wigan to cover the handicap betting tonight. Any thoughts?

I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing him play, but by all accounts Reechard has been excellent this week. Murray (thankfully for my double!) came back from 4-1 down in the second set and from 5-2 down in the third against Dimitrov. Amazing Stuff, but i think it suggests he’s probably not certsin to produce a consistent high level of tennis against Gaaquet. He spent 3 hours on court yesterday and must be tired after a long and impressive week last week. He is very fit, but whether he has the mental and physical energy to get past a firing gasquet is another thing. I gave Dimitrov almost no chance, and he very nearly beat Murray. Gasquet I feel is more likely to trouble him, so it would be rude not to back him to go one better. I will be using a bookie that pays out retirements of a set is played. Smallish stakes as this is gasquet and Murray were talking about here.

    Reechard 2/1
    2-0 @ 5/1

    Good luck

I’m also on Federer to win the title at 5/2. he shouldn’t have much trouble with Lopez, nor the winner of Murray v Gasquet in my opinion. Novak hasn’t been that convincing, federer is tr champ here and looking the business so far. 6-1, 6-1 v Anderson?! Crazy good.

  8. Ad 9 years ago

The 6 time champ too I should add! I think Novak never having won this, the only masters he hasn’t won, works against him.

  11. Mac 9 years ago

On Gasquet Ad, thanks but is there any double you like today?

  12. Felix 9 years ago

Why are all Djokovic’s matches on in the day, yet Murray is given the night shift. No wonder he’s in half zombie mode.

  13. Ad 9 years ago

Hey Mac- there isn’t really anything I fancy double wise today. Berdych looks good to make it 5-0 against Dolgo, but is just 2/7 and would need something solid at just over 1/2 to bring it up to evens. Could possibly add Jankovic to beat Schmiedlova to that, but I’m not sure how much I trust JJ.

I’m just going to stick to implay – there were killings to be made yesterday had i been awake.

and a single on gasquet and a smaller single on stan

  14. Ad 9 years ago

there goes stan. not watching, but his first serve percent is in the 40s and novaks is in the 80s. not good!

  15. Felix 9 years ago

You’d think the schmiedlova and jankovic match would go 3 sets. Both are up and down players

  16. Dazzler 9 years ago

Cheers Dazid, just one of those things. Really didn’t expect it to move as they had gone over the night before and they put up the exact same line and prices and the move was about the same time too.

Afternoon Guys Warrington Wolves v Wigan Warriors

Two of the games biggest rivals clash tonight at the
Helliwell Jones Stadium, in the Super 8s. The head to head this season is 1-1, however Wigan have won 4 out the 5 previous meetings including two big ones, last seasons semi final and the 2013 Grand final.

Warrington will be without Rhys Evans, while Wigan are still without top scorer Joe Burgess, while Dan Sarginson and Anthony Gelling are out and Michael McIllorum is a doubt with a nasty looking eye injury he picked up last week.

Warrington hopes of a top four finish all but over, while with Saints losing last night Wigan can go 3pts clear of them in second and get a home semi final and given they are unbeaten at the DW that could be huge advantage. Warrington are hit and miss, last week they lost to Castleford who 2 weeks prior they went there and won scoring 40+pts. They haven’t recovered from that shock loss to Hull KR and their form as dipped.

Wigan have a few players missing and if McIllorum doesn’t go then it is going to be really tough. I just cant trust Warrington they will be up for this against their bitter rivals, but I would worry if Wigan started fast, their heads may go down. I will have a small stake on Wigan -4 at 11/10 Bet365.

Both these sides have big packs but its out wide were the game could be won. The Wolves are struggling badly out recently. Last week Castleford scored 3 tries, winger Justin Carney scored 2 and centre Michael Shenton also scored. The week before the Leeds backline ran riot as they routed the Wolves, even earlier in the season Wigan’s Dom Manfredi got a hat-trick.

Josh Charnley and Manfredi should be considered for anytime scorers but they are odds on. For a bit of value I like Liam Farrell. He has scored 3 tries in his last two games in the Super 8s and he loves to run out wide and he is quicker then he looks, he could expose the wolves edge defence again. He is 11/5 Ladbrokes.

I mentioned Manfredi scored a hat trick against Wolves earlier in the season, and given Warrington’s woes out wide there is a good offer at Coral who are the sponsors for Wigan Warriors, they go 6/4 Manfredi to score (max £20) looks good for a player who as scored 15 in 13.

    WIGAN -4 TO WIN 11/10
    FARRELL TO SCORE 11/5

    Coral Special

    MANFREDI TO SCORE 6/4

Good luck if your having a bet

  18. Ad 9 years ago

Ooo glad I steered clear of posting a double, berdych would have been in it! Something a little off with him at the moment going by some of his recent defeats

  19. Felix 9 years ago

Berdych has been way off since his mauling by Simon at Wimbledon. Think his coaching staff have also implemented some changes to his training but I doubt that would have negative effects

  20. silasvuitton 9 years ago

Who thinks gasquet can win this?

  21. Ad 9 years ago

    Reeeeechard

    • Jack 9 years ago

Jumped on him after a bad night on the football @ 17/20, here’s hoping you’re right Ad!

  22. Ad 9 years ago

I’ve spent so much time telling gasquet to step forward over the last 40 mins. He’s far to far behind by baseline as usual. Makes it so easy for Murray to construct a point and dictate. Step in you cowardly Frenchman!

    • Jack 9 years ago

I don’t know if you saw the Berdych match but it was exactly the same. Although he chose to step forward and play better at 5-2 down in the 2nd set…

  23. Jack 9 years ago

And as I say that Murray breaks. One of those nights…

  24. Ad 9 years ago

Well there goes the second set. Gasquet needed to break back there. Just needs to plug away now and the and take as much out of Murray as he can. And for goodness sake be more aggressive now you’re 3 down!

  25. Jack 9 years ago

Just so you all know I’m on JJ, Federer 2-0 and Yankees tonight so I’d avoid them all…

  26. Ad 9 years ago

Yep, and it’s tough to see Reechard taking the third the way things are going ATM. He simply has to be more aggressive or his only chance is Murray crumbling- which is possible, but not very likely

  27. Felix 9 years ago

Andy has lost the first set against Gasquet in their last few matches and gone on to win. Seems to be going that way.

  28. dave 9 years ago

Chief top tipping again on rugby, I took the handicap and as always when u put an anytime scorer up in rugby or footy always have em to score first so thanks for farell, got 14/1 on him.

  29. Ad 9 years ago

Typical feeble Frenchman! He’s just completely lost all belief that he can win this and its translation very directly into his tennis. Backing 6-1

  30. Ad 9 years ago

    That’s better gasquet, aggression! P

  31. Ad 9 years ago

I do despair. Classic Gaaquet. 4-4 in the third, has chances in nearly every point he lost to be aggressive and take charge of the point and he plays a safe and useless rally shot instead. Then double faults to get broken. Thankfully it’s never going to be too big a stake with Gasquet, but still disappointing
