TopTips_Betfred

IT's the first full week of the football season and it hasn't really felt like it's started until now.

I've put up some tips already and here are my top tips from Saturday's Daily Record.

They're a little different this season and I've separated them into two categories – top tips and shop tips. The top tips are the main ones – those I'll be backing seriously and on which I should be judged.

The shop tips are much more speculative and should be done for low stakes, throwaway change when you're passing a shop if you like. These include draws which I don't like doing but when I stop or leave them out I get loads of people asking for them.

I'll put four up every weekend and my advice would be to do a 50p or £1 Yankee at most – remember four draws up once every two seasons will still return a profit. They of course came in once last season but a few seasons back I tipped four out of four back to back and should have retired there and then.

Match result and both teams to score is another market that should be played for low stakes and I'll add these tips once we see a bit of form.

Remember don't do all of these and be wary about the shop tips – and also if like your own better do them instead.

Betfred sponsor the top tips so their prices are quoted where possible (unless they are substantially smaller as in the case of the first-scorer Yankee) but in the Record I've have listed best available price.

Just a warning to anyone tipping PSG against Bastia tomorrow. I have always realised there is some sort of curse with PSGs starting season matches.

Found some interesting information on betpredictor.co.uk

PSGs opponents this week is against a team led by Claude Makelele who has transformed them into a different team from last season. Bastia’s opening game finished a 3-3 draw to title challengers Marseille who themselves had to come back from 3-1 to draw the game.

PSG are very short to win the game and you can them at 1/7 to win the game. Based on their inability to finish off their opponents last week and Bastia’s fight back against Marseille we don’t think they will win as easily as the odds suggest. Especially since PSG are still gaining match fitness and Clause Makelele being one of the best defensive midfielders in his generation will set his team up to defend and make it difficult for PSG.

Our recommendation is to back Bastia Asian handicap +2.25 at 4/5. The bet will lose if PSG win by 3 goals or more.

Last season PSG drew their 1st two French Ligue 1 games, the first was away and second at home and this season they’ve already drawn their first away game, and second game is at home. As a long shot bet back a draw 13/2.

    Main Bet
    Bastia Asian handicap +2.25 – odds 4/5@Bet365

    Longshot value bet
Full time result – Draw – odds 13/2@BetFred

I myself may have a little punt on Bastia double chance @ 17/4 to add as part of my accumalator, but I believe that Bastia Asian handicap +2.25 is safer.

Good luck to you all !!

Worst Birmingham side since the late eighties early nineties I’m
I was at boro last Saturday, not a shot on goal all game apart from a tame free kick
however Brighton dont convince me so I will wait for team news before betting, if clark picks his normal, mental, random out of a hat selection away win!
Ps if blues don’t win today they set the record of the longest winless home run in the four English leagues.

I don’t usually include the early games in multiple bets, but I can’t see anything other than a Man U win. As their odds are poor, I’m going to double them with Cardiff, who I think will be there or there abouts come May. Huddersfield got smashed at home last week by Bournemouth, so I expect a comfortable win for Cardiff.

    Man Utd + Cardiff double pays 11/8 @ Bet365

    • Alan 10 years ago

And that’s why I don’t like including the early game in my bets.

  7. gazza1 10 years ago

Mr F Sorry to question you but just need some clarification on your Dundee v Partick prediction
You have it included in your draws on this page ( which i agree with } but on your SPL page you have partick to win to nil @ 4/1
Am i picking it up wrong ?

    Got a tasty looking treble:

Start of at Stoke v Villa, the Potters should have enough to see off a Villa side who are notoriously poor on their travels – Stoke are a formidable force at the Britania and I see a comfortable win for them here. Price @10/11

Next I’m looking at the Legaue One clash between Coventry and Sheff utd, both sides have had poor starts to the league with the Sky Blues losing 3-2 to Bradford whilst United succumbed to a shock 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Bristol City. I’m looking for goals here and although it was the cup both sides were involved in 2-1 score lines with Coventry losing to Cardiff and United beating Mansfield. The recent H2H between these sides also indicates goals (1-2, 3-2, 2-1, 2-1, 1-1) I’m backing BTTS @8/11.

Finally I’m going to take Burton Albion at home to Dagenham. Burton have had a great start to the season beating Oxford away in their opener before knocking out Championship Wigan in the cup, this is in stark contrast to Dagenham who suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Morecambe on the opening day, they were also involved in the incredible 12 goal cup thriller with Brentford – things should return to normal in the league and I can see Burton winning this one comfortably, the home win is @8/11.

    The treble pays 4.7/1.

    Other small bets:

Sheff utd WIN & BTTS @4/1
    Burton win to nil @7/4

All prices taken from Skybet (probably better prices elsewhere).

  18. Chris Guy 10 years ago

Paul you should never be judged on the likes of draws and most punters know that. I won a good few grand on your 4 draws last season. I just put £20 on a straight draw accumulator which pays over £3k most of the time. Even if you only get one up in a season you’ll still be at least £2k in profit. Any more than this is a bonus. In fact all you need is one four fold up in 2 seasons for at least £1k profit. I just look at it as a long term investment.

  19. Chris Guy 10 years ago

Paddy Power are running scared of James Forrest in the Celtic match. He’s sticking out like a sore thumb with the prices they are offering for him. Paddy Power are giving measly odds of 13/5 for Forrest to score first goal and 8/15 for him to score anytime making him fav.

I’m sticking with what I know today and that is Greg and everyone’s favourites Parnu. Today they play Levadia 2 and I will be backing whatever goal line they offer. Their two H2H’s already this year have ended 5-2 in Parnu’s favour and 6-2 in Levadia’s favour. In Parnu’s last 6 games there have been 32 goal, averaging over 5 a game, in Levadia’s there have been 30, averaging exactly 5.

So just waiting for the GL, surely they will be set at 2.5 and 4.5. I will take the 4.5 and keep an eye in play if there is no goal in first ten minutes as both sides take 15 minutes or so to reallt get warmed up. If the GL is set at 1.5 and 3.5 I will put my house on it (well I wont but you get my drift :-) )

I also promised that I would comment on Spurs every game but today is one that just needs to be left alone. Yes my heart says Spurs should win and need to win but my head says anything could happen. I can’t even be sure we will get btts which I at the end of last season was almost a given. Just hope I can enjoy the game and we hit the floor running.

Good luck for the day gang, let’s hope we see some great football and lots of goals.

If you have a better insight please share it or stop being deliberately argumentative.

    Bets 16/08/14

After a disappointing week last week where two of my main singles before kick off flopped (but then recovered with both sides to score heading into the last 15mins of their games) I’m feeling more confident going into the second week of the league season.

Bet 5) Raal’s Hearts to win v Hibs bet
6 pts on at evens (various)

Bet 6) Super Duper Double 1
Stoke and Cardiff both to win

Mr F’s super single and my stand out super single for this week combined.

Stoke are solid at home, Villa will be in for a season of struggle again.

Cardiff are my main pick of the weekend against a weak looking Huddersfield who had to contend with extra time in the week.
    3 pts at roughly 5/2

Bet 7) Super Duper Double 2
    Cardiff
    Burton
3 pts at just under 5/2

Lets hope for some winners today! Good Luck :)

    Liverpool to finish top 4 @ 11/10

This is something I wrote to someone that is close to us all prior to the Racing post pull out. I would add that this bet has seen some more money as a number of bookies have cut their odds. Liverpool have a tough start with Spurs and Manchester City following on from Southampton and so there may be slightly better odds available in a couple of weeks, especially when you consider United’s easy start. Although the article seems LFC v MUFC, I do not necessarily think that Liverpool cannot finish any higher.

    Morning xxxxxx

Before the Racing Post beat me to it, I believe the above is a value bet in my book. Liverpool were initially as short as 4/6 and I was not prepared to touch it back then. I think United have been over egged while they have lost some key players in defence such as Evra and Vidic. Ferdinand less so but he could have still done a job. I don’t particularly rate Luke Shaw that highly at the moment. He looked exposed up against the quality of Bale and light weight. Bad mistake in letting Evra go this season in my book. A back 5 De Gea, Rafael, Jones, Evans and Shaw (maybe Smalling) is weak and will struggle v the big boys. Yes no Champions league football but an extremely unbalanced squad including up front with the dilemma of Mata/Rooney/Kagawa and how to fit them all in. Midfield is unimpressive (granted not seen their new midfielder much). More upheaval, change of tactics and a weaker squad at present to that of last year. Still open to the most improvement, I just don’t see them finishing above Liverpool.

Liverpool have “only” lost Suarez their most influential player but also their largest distraction that was not due to play until October so not that much of a loss since they have recouped good money. That money has been invested in players that will hit the ground running when called upon in Lallana (injured), Lovren (will go straight in in my book and to add he will be a colossus) and Lambert. No time needed to adjust. Origi is on loan and there is of course Markovic and Emre Can (who admittedly I have not seen enough of). Markovic is one of the best players out of Serbia (my mate from over there tells me this). I’m also told no Serbian wide player has really made it in the Premier League. You may recall Tosic of united. Defensive reinforcements are in the pipeline as well which is where Liverpool had issues last season. On the whole the squad will have been together a season longer under the stewardship of Rogers who will get more out of them. I expect Sterling to be a key player, who will play as a forward or not far off Sturridge. I also see one more big signing as we have not spent the Suarez money yet. I would love that to be Reus :) I am not fond of more than 4-5 signings per season (see Spurs) but don’t seek it being a problem here as only 1-2 at present are likely to get in the first 11 the rest are for the squad, competition etc and will only be used when ready.

I’ve already given you my views on the other teams that will challenge, Chelsea for me will win this hands down due to the manager. Arsenal will push again but have such an injury prone team and lack leaders in both defence and midfield. If you stuck Vierra, Adams and Seaman in that team I am certain they would go close to really close to winning the league. They have also lost Sagna I believe. Sanchez will help but I cannot get over their lack of spine. Man City could go either way. A lot will come down to the players desire to retain their crown. I just don’t see that same team spirit that I see at Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Finally any teams in the Champions league will fight tooth and nail to stay there with the BT deal kicking in next season. I would rather Liverpool go out at the group stages and secure their place for the following campaign as that will enable them to continue to strengthen.

  41. craigyboy 10 years ago

Alan I fancy Watford, I asked if anyone had any insight to their first game yesterday. Just wanted to know if it was more a case of Watford playing well or Bolton playing poor (as was the case a lot of the time last season). Personally the 6/5 draw no bet is a tasty one with insurance. I expect Norwich to be better than they were last week.

likely absentee for United is striker Steve Morison, who continues to suffer with a calf injury (no great loss) & suspended berardi (idiotic sending off) Two of the new signings this week should play some part with myself expecting Billy Sharp to start and Liam Cooper could be in line to make his debut, the other one Bullusci will have to wait as international clearance has not been granted due to a bank holiday in Italy on Friday.

From my point of view it’s amazing what a week can do in football, we’ve made 3 top class signings this week and with a bid accepted for Agard ( there was a few hiccups but after all is Cellino) & reportedly made a loan offer for Bamford then things do look better from the outside looking in!

Morning gents – as you know I’m mostly a goals man but it’s always hard at the start of a new season to work out where the goals will be! Probably be another 2-3 weeks when we’ll
Have a better idea! Will post my thoughts later!

Today i fancy a few teams to win!

    Blackburn to Beat Blackpool 8/11
    Cardiff to beat Huddersfield 3/4
    Braintree to best Chester 4/5
    Torquey to beat Southport 4/6

    Good morning all :-)

How do we all feel then ?? Raals BTTS coco pop early morning double needs 1 more goal in each game to bring us a boom….Here’s waiting.

Mr fix it said he will be watching the game in his dreams :-) Let’s hope his alarm clock doesn’t go off to soon then hey ;-)

On a serious note…my main bet today is:

    Man Utd
    Arsenal
    Liverpool

A SIMPLE treble all to WIN :-)

I do fancy QPR and LEEDS also to win so might include them in a separate accumulator.

What are your thoughts guys and what are we all going for ???

  53. Alex 10 years ago

Mr F, Greg I am seriously toying with Blackburn away but don’t trust them enough!

Alex my mate is a Blackburn fan the general feeling is Blackburns squad is great in depth but their first team is good. Their not too confident on their defence and these derbys always have a nervy feel to them. Blackburn should have the quality to win though. If Rhodes starts up front with Gestede that should be way too much for a struggling blackpool. Who already have a new signing out injured in forest game.
From what im hearing blackburn have a near full dtrentgh side available to choose from

    Everton
York City game U2.5 (always good for it last season)
    FC Salzburg & O3.5
HNK Rijeka to score in both halves
    Longford Town
    Parnu o2.5
    Gamba Osaka

    pays nearly 80/1

Have also taken some games out for a smaller shot that obviously has more chance of coming in

Barclays Premier League Focus. Manchester United vs Swansea. K.O 12:45PM.

Manchester United will be looking to start a brand new book, let alone a chapter, when they open the 2014/15 season at home to Swansea. Van Gaal has been nothing short of miracle worker if pre season form is to be taken into account. Undefeated in all 6 friendlies. Yes, they’re friendlies, but when you look at the teams played, you would not have thought United would be picking up results like that with their new manager straight from the off, but they have, and they’ll be looking to take that unbeaten run into their new campaign. ‘Louis van Gaal makes his managerial bow in the Premier league as United open their campaign against Swansea. The Dutchman has implemented a 3-4-1-2 shape in pre-season and looks set to roll out the formation in the league for the first time, though has injury concerns in defence, with Luke Shaw out for four weeks and Jonny Evans and Antonio Valencia doubtful – all three missed the final pre-season game against Valencia earlier in the week. Should the latter two not be passed fit, Van Gaal is expected to turn to youngsters Reece James and Tyler Blackett to fill the left wing-back and left centre-back positions respectively. Meanwhile, Ashley Young will be rewarded for his strong pre-season form with a start as the right wing back against Swansea. New signing Ander Herrera will make his debut alongside Darren Fletcher in central midfield, with Juan Mata also expected to feature behind the strikers in a central role. Up front, Wayne Rooney could again be partnered by Javier Hernandez, though Danny Welbeck remains a strong alternative should he overcome a minor knock. Robin van Persie is unlikely to be considered, having arrived late from the World Cup – the Dutchman has not featured during pre-season. Michael Carrick remains on the sidelines with an ankle injury.’

Swansea have had a mixed pre season, a couple wins, couple losses and a draw. Not world class opposition but teams you’d expect them to be beating, friendlies or not.
Lost a couple of important figures, including they’re No.1 Michel Vorm, they’re first choice full back Ben Davies to Spurs, and now one of their first choice centrebacks in Chico Flores. Some info I read up about yesterday evening; ‘Swansea boss Garry Monk is without Leon Britton and Marvin Emnes for the trip to Old Trafford, with the pair both suffering from knee injuries. Nathan Dyer missed Swansea’s final pre-season game for personal reasons whilst Wayne Routledge suffered a slight knock, but the duo are both in contention for the wide roles against United, with summer signing Jefferson Montero another option. The Swans boss has been experimenting with a 4-4-2 during pre-season to accommodate summer signing Bafetimbi Gomis alongside Wilfried Bony – a formation that has forced another new signing, Gylfi Sigurdsson, out wide. The Icelandic midfielder could return to the role behind a lone striker away to United, with Gomis perhaps debuting from the bench. Elsewhere Ki Sung-Yeung and Jonjo Shelvey look to have nailed down the central midfield berths during pre-season, whilst Kyle Bartley has featured prominently at centre-half in the absence of the now-departed Chico, and is likely to start alongside Ashley Williams at Old Trafford, with Jordi Amat offering an alternative option. Angel Rangel and Neil Taylor will be expected to start in the full-back roles’.

4/6 of Manchester Uniteds pre seasons games saw btts and over 2.5, with United winning all 4, where as only 2/7 of Swansea’s games have.

H2H shows Swansea have only scored once in the league at Old Trafford, but they did have an impression away win in the FA Cup on the 5th of January, winning 2-1.
United have scored 2 goals in every home tie against Swansea in the BPL, and that trend should follow in a Swansea side with a few experienced gaps in their back line.

    Related Bets;

Manchester United over 1.5 team goals @ 4/9 (NAP)

Wayne Rooney Wincast @ 5/4 (The skipper will look to make a massive impact in his new role, open play, set pieces, penalties are always capable when Rooney is on the pitch)

Manchester United & btts @ 9/4 (Be interesting to see how the new formation works in the league. Leaked goals in pre season, and if Bony and Sigurdsson play, I feel they will have enough to threaten our goal more than once.

    BTTS & over 2.5 @ 29/20

    BTTS @ 21/20

    Over 2.5 match goals @ 4/6

Manchester United over 2.5 goals (small stakes as you never know what opening day may bring).

You can get Rooney anytime @ 10/11 if you don’t want the wincast.

Wilfried Bony will be the main threat for Swansea, if he starts, look to back him anytime @ 3/1.

Remember, I don’t bet on all of these, I think these are the most reasonable markets.

  66. Jordan 10 years ago

Mr F. Think you could be spot on with your bonkers bet. I’m going for it.

    Lorient v Nice

This is the 2nd matchday in the Ligue 1 and in the first game Lorient won against Monaco with 2-1 in Stade Louis II (stadium Monaco). Against Monaco, they started from a good organization and when they had a chance they played on the counter. In this game, Lorient will play more attacking football. Last season Lorient ended 8th in competition and they had a home record of 8W-7D-4L. From the keyplayers of last season, it is only Monnet-Paquet and Aliadiere who have left the team but they have replaced these players good with Jordan Ayew, Jeannot and Mesloub. This are players who can create some chances and also score goals. Togheter with their goalscorer of last season (Aboubakar) they have a very good attacking team who can score a lot of goals. Last season he scored 17 goals.

In the opening game, Nice won against Toulouse with 3-2 at their home where they came back from 1-2. This is a very good result for them but in defence Nice has a lot of problems. The organization isn’t good and they make a lot of mistakes. They also lost their keyplayers in defence (goalkeeper Ospina and defender Pejcinovic) which are not replaced good. They also have a bad away record, last season their record was 2W-4D-13L which was one of the worst of Ligue 1. There are also some absentees: defender Kolodziejczak, midfielders Bodmer and Digard.

Last season, Lorient won 2 times against Nice (2-1 and 3-0).

With the good form of Lorient and the bad away record and the many absentees of their opponent, I see Lorient winning this game with 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1.

Raal, beginning of July I asked you about a betting bank and level stakes and you told me to set up an account to follow only what you tipped and at the stake you advised. Last nights double has turned my £50 on first of July into £300 in 6 weeks. I know I said about betting more but the £10 stakes and only bigger when you advised me too has worked. If I had gone with bigger bets I wouldnt need to work. Thank you raal you have shown me how to win which I didnt think possible

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Danny, really really delighted mate as I didn’t think you would stick to it but you did, top man!! I only wanted to show you, after you said about previous betting strategies, that it could be done. Anybody who made the time and effort can bet and win if they really wanted to. Your betting bank shows that a structured system could actually with increased stakes make a living ‘wage’. You were backing multiple bets and I told you that you will NEVER win that way. 1 or 2 a day at the most can and will win you decent returns week to week. This year is turning into my best since I started betting and if I can do it then anybody can. Stick with it mate and watch how the next 6-8 weeks go. And again top man Danny T ;)

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Raal like I said mate . I know 100% that following you will give me winners and make me money and that’s been my aim for a number of years . I have tried many things but the only one that’s worked is following you. Your a top man to boot and I am very grateful thanks mate

derby to beat sheff wed @11/8 is nailed on mate, sheff wednesday do not like playing us, go to bet365 and look at the stats ( not that i needed to look ) last year we did the double over them, scraped a 1-0 at their ground, but i fear it is very different, maybe if you wanna play safe, drop half your stake on the win price, the other on a -1 asian handicap, that way if they don’t win by 2 clear goals, you get your stake back.

  89. Pedro 10 years ago

A couple of tips from me today, not going heavy though, as the first fixtures do throw up some surprises.

    Championship:
Norwich vs Watford 15:00 kick off
    BTTS 8/13

It was a poor opening weekend for Norwich and they will be wanting to get some points on the board against a Watford team that is full of goals. The last few meetings have seen goals go in. I agree with Mr.F’s Sheff United vs Coventry tip, so I’ll have a BTTS double.

    Double pays 2/1

  90. Pedro 10 years ago

I agree with Stoke being the super single, so that’ll be in my acca, but a couple of others to consider:

    League 1:
    Crewe vs Barnsley

Bit of a long shot, but Barnsley seem to be a disarray at the moment, and lost to at home to Crewe during the week. Surely at home, 2/1 is generous odds for Crewe to win?

    Conference:
    Forest Green vs Alfreton

The reds are one of my local teams, so they are in the Evening Telegraph most days, and they are in trouble this season. After falling away from the play offs last year, they are having off the field problems as well. I can’t see them getting a win from anywhere let alone in form Forest Green.

Add the home side to your acca at 8/15.

  102. Tonys Tip's 10 years ago

I understand Raal, the way i bet is ridiculous , im young and make bad decisions. i made £2000 of one of Mr Fs doubles a few weeks ago and said i would stop and use the money for my holiday. I am now on £500 due to a bad losing streak and really need to get back to over £1000 before wednesday. Im at that point now, where i just need one last win to stop and not gamble again. But i know people would recommend to stop now and not chase losses. But seems the only time i win big is when iv nearly lost everything. So im willing to stake another 100 , before i stop . Its all bad news tbh .

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Tonys Tips, if you will not stop betting then start betting sensibly. One or two bets a day maximum! never ever do anything more than a double and do not chase losses. If you follow Mr F’s tips then look through every single one of them and find the best and stick to that. His Super Single looks good but research it thoroughly. If it lands there is no point at all in risking potential profits on any other bets, it is complete madness. I have 2 both to score bets that I will put up around 2.00 that I really like as well if one wins I break even if both win I make profit but if both lose I won’t worry as level stakes this week have me well ahead. Danny T has showed that even guys who are losing constantly, no disrespect Danny mate, can turn it around into a very decent profit. £50 to £300 in 6 weeks betting only £10 a time? I do not believe many other people will show you how to do that, many will say they can but I have proven it.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

And Tony I only ended up winning because I was exactly like you betting wise, pissed off throwing money away and then made the time to turn it around.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, my advice on the post is to pick out what you think are the best bets. Everyone should know before Saturday how much they have to spend then divide it up wisely. I’ve put up the “shop tips” because people who do small accas, especially in shops, like those but if I do them they’ll be for small stakes.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Tony Tip’s, if you can’t afford to lose the money you shouldn’t bet it but you know that. Try to build a betting bank and go with smaller stakes. If you have to get to £1k before Wednesday I suggest you see the bank manager rather than risking losing the lot.

Derbys connor sammon gone to ipswich on a season long loan – shows the depth of the squad when he can’t even get his name on the subs list. good move for derby moving forward – and he gets some much needed footy. I see him very much like an Emile Heskey ( dare i say it ) – big and strong, won’t get you many goals but he’ll hold up the ball well in the middle of an attack whilst his team flood the attack with players, then he brings them into play.

Raaljaca, i really appreciate your advise and how you help people free of charge with your advise and tips. Its inspiring to see how you manage to control your stakes and manage profit. I have changed my betting style alot. For example i used to do my own bets on teams i wasnt too sure about alongside ridiculous sized accumalators. Then i started only following Mr Fs bets, the problem i had was that i would put a reasonable stake pre game but then ruin it with inplay bets, and would never take losing as an option.

I always saw your tips but never followed any of them until last night, and unluckily they lost. But it may come to a stage where i just do one or 2 of your bets a day, because your form is strong.

  119. Pedro 10 years ago

Nathan, Sammon was a waste of £1.2million. We have Clough to thank for that. We now have Best as a back up and have been linked with Chris Wood. Not sure whether Sammon will even start for Ipswich, and I very much doubt that he will score more than 10 goals. His work rate is second to none, but he is not a finisher.

Tonys Tip’s Follow Ralljacas tips and dont stress about in play and chasing losses. Remember everyday is a new betting day with at least ones decent bet which has potential out of many many games , so if you have a bad day just sleep on it and wait for the next day.

Theres no rush in betting as the markets will always be there you just need to be disciplined of when to bet and when NOT to bet, thats the best advice for you fella ;-)

  123. InterYerNan 10 years ago

Very simple treble for me today:

Rotherham vs wolves over 1.5 mg 3/10
MAN UTD vs Swansea Utd 4/11
    Blackpool vs BLACKBURN 8/11

    £10 returns £30.

  124. InterYerNan 10 years ago

Will also be on Mr Fs super single..villa are awful ;)

    QPR v Hull

QPR’s home record in the Championship last season was impressive with only champions Leicester winning more points – a step up today of course, but Redknapp has done some great business both on and off the park. Hull are a decent side but they are much better at home than away, losing 13 of 19 on the road last year. Shane Long will also be a big miss after his sale to Southampton and they have yet to spend the money received.

    QPR Win – 7/5

    Man United v Swansea

Louis van Gaal has made an immediate impact and you can expect Man U to make a strong start with new captain Rooney, Hernandez and Mata forming an impressive looking forward line. Swansea have lost much of last season’s back line with Davies and Flores following goalkeeper Vorm out of the door and with adequate replacements yet to be found, they look vulnerable.

    Man United HT/FT – 20/21

Double pays 3.68/1 all on Bet365

    Good luck all

raaljaca, just read with interest danny t item about structured betting system max £10 etc, and your reply

as a regular viewer/user of this site, have noticed you put up more than 2 tips a day so how does danny t know which is your best tip or tips

am interested in having a go at this but not sure which of your bets he or i would follow?

a big fan of yours btw so hope you dont think im having a go!!!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

redboy, I know you are not having a go. I say 1 to 2 bets a day but sometimes I will put up maybe 3 but not often. Danny got in contact with me and we stayed in touch via mailing. Any bet I put up here I expect to win, they are never guesses, and some do but some don’t. I record all bets and my strike rate at present, last month, is over 75% and given very few are ever tipped at less than evens that is why I am making profit. I only try to help people beat the bookies because I can now win month after month by disciplining how and what I bet on. I am not blowing my own trumpet I assure you as I will never win back what I lost before being able to turn it around.

    • redboy100 10 years ago

thanks for your reply raal, starting today with £50 stash, your 2 btts matches are the start, thanks mate!!

De Gea, jones, smalling, blackett, Lingard, fletcher, herrera, young, mata, rooney, hernandeZ. united starting line up.
Glad to see lingard being given a chance lots of pace in this side

  132. Horsing Around 10 years ago

For my pence worth, I found it too difficult following particular tipsters as they tend to dabble in other sports which is difficult to keep up with on this site.

It frustrated me to the core that they might have a bad day in one sport but usually a great day on another so while they were up I would be nursing a loss.

I can recommend Greg’s overs bets which usually take place during the weekday afternoons but you need to literally put your job on the line by keeping the website open all day so you don’t miss them.

With Dean on the Russian match, both sides are poor but can score the odd goal. Polish game is between another two sides who score and concede and the head to head always has goals. Level stakes and minimum bets is the rule in my opinion. Multiple bets will see some win and some lose and becomes a lottery regarding profit.

Anyone fancy Celtic against Dundee Utd ?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

daz, just not sure about the Celtic game. If they play well they should win but they’ve been poor so far – just like Rangers but of course they managed to beat Falkirk without playing well.

      Celtic 1-0 Denayer

I’ve decided to check what’s happening on the site because this is shocking defending from United and not what we have produced so far this season. You may think I’m being biased towards my team but in all honesty this is another gift for Celtic. We have been terrible so far but Celtic haven’t exactly been good either.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Chip, teams can go to Parkhead in good shape but they always need to rise to the occasion and obviously United haven’t. Right, I’m off to watch Clydebank v Yoker, a nice cup derby before the league season kicks off next week. Check in later and hoping for a Man Utd comeback but as we all knew they need some more signings.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Chip it must have been exciting seeing Fergus and Ronny Deila at the same time, not often 2 guys can face each other and look 4 different ways all at once!

    CHELTENHAM TOWN VS. ACCRINGTON STANLEY
    Cheltenham to win
    5/4 (BetVictor)

It’s going to be short because just about to go out for my training :) Can’t understand why nobody tipped this. Probably people are too excited about premier league start. Cheltenham quite decent game last time, but Accrigton played horribly in their opener. 0 shots on goal at home! I also love cheltenham 3-5-2 formation that worked so well during world cup. I’m at least as confident for this bet as I was for yesterday’s under 1.5 in auxerre game bet despite so many people being fooled to place a bet for btts (got no idea why, it was quite obvious for me that it’s goimg to be a low scoring game looking at stats) ;)

Machester United over 1.5 4/9 **LOST**

Wayne Rooney Wincast @ 5/4 (The skipper will look to make a massive impact in his new role, open play, set pieces, penalties are always capable when Rooney is on the pitch) **LOST**

Manchester United & btts @ 9/4 (Be interesting to see how the new formation works in the league. Leaked goals in pre season, and if Bony and Sigurdsson play, I feel they will have enough to threaten our goal more than once. **LOST**

    BTTS & over 2.5 @ 29/20 **WIN** Had shortened to 5/4 but I got on at 8/5

    BTTS @ 21/20 **WIN**

    Over 2.5 match goals @ 4/6 **WIN**

Manchester United over 2.5 goals (small stakes as you never know what opening day may bring). **LOSE**

You can get Rooney anytime @ 10/11 if you don’t want the wincast. **WIN**

Wilfried Bony will be the main threat for Swansea, if he starts, look to back him anytime @ 3/1. **LOSE**

I did mention Sigurdsson also so if anybody took a punt on that then well done. Opening game always tricky but I really didn’t expect that.

I imagine a few acca’s have already been busted.

alec, maybe Villa were good. Heard a bit on the radio and they seemed to be more solid. Must have been the return of Alan Hutton.

  236. jesus 10 years ago

Right people this is where it gets serious.I’ve been playing with betting for a few months now just with matchsticks ludo counters and the like and by my reckoning in this day and age of online betting there are tons of markets to bet on so much so it gets a bit confusing even to the most savvy gambler.there are games out there everywhere which at certain times certain markets apply the trick is choosing the right ones.if everybody chose one winning bet a day out of potentially thousands then nobody would b at a loss.my aim is just to put up one winning bet a day regardless of the odds.everybody wants to make hundreds even thousands betting but in reality only a chosen few have the skill or dare I say element of luck to do that.in my short experience I would advise choosing one specific market whether it be goals wins corners cards etc and stick to it that way your only looking for one market on each individual game thus not getting confused about should I do this or that.watch the rewards will appear shortly!

  237. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Enner Valencia has just come on-

    West Ham to win 9/1

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Nice one, Lossie Jim the Jambo for a day ;)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, Annan not scoring was a shock. Watching Queen’s closely this season as they signed 3 of our players and that’s a good result for them.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Mr F, the lower divisions seem to be starting quite slowly goals wise.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, re goals I noticed that too. Might be worth a little no to both teams to score line. Will probably return to normal soon though.

  239. Wato 10 years ago

Hold the phone Raal lost a bet!! Lol can’t get them all mate but again could work from you today sadly I wasn’t on any of them

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Yesevil, anyone who has the staking power should stick to singles, doubles and trebles. It’s why I’ve split my tips in two parts – the main ones and the speculative ones.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

      Nice one Yesevil mate.

    15.00
    CHELTENHAM TOWN VS. ACCRINGTON STANLEY
    Cheltenham to win
    5/4 (BetVictor)

It’s going to be short because just about to go out for my training  Can’t understand why nobody tipped this. Probably people are too excited about premier league start. Cheltenham quite decent game last time, but Accrigton played horribly in their opener. 0 shots on goal at home! I also love cheltenham 3-5-2 formation that worked so well during world cup. I’m at least as confident for this bet as I was for yesterday’s under 1.5 in auxerre game bet despite so many people being fooled to place a bet for btts (got no idea why, it was quite obvious for me that it’s going to be a low scoring game looking at stats)

    Shrewsbury win won
    Arbroath win won
    Stoke win lost
Over 600 pay out from 20
    Gutted

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Lionel, you do 6 and 1 is always going to beat you. I’d have permed that line if doing it for about a £50 return for the same stake.

  249. Danny T 10 years ago

Raal do we have anything for this evening mate or is it marching on to tomorrow we go ? Hearts on the TV again and Liverpool hoping for a perfect day :-)

  251. Tom Winner 10 years ago

Treble lost with no BTTS at Coventry and Stoke losing, won a little back with Burton turning it aroun. However goes to show early on it’s always a bigger risk.

Sorry Guys 1/2 I dont seem to be landing just yet very annoying the amount of time i put in to this a 0-0 again the stats looked heavy in favour for this to come in but typical style it was a disaster.

    very poor must do better

  253. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

    Ulloa (Leicester) anytime scorer 11/4

    Wilson (Bounemouth) anytime scorer 13/10

Remy (QPR) anytime scorer 9/4 NAP bwin

    TREBLE 13.37/1

    11/4 WINNER!!!

1 out 3 on this one but doing single bets to level stakes would have actually saw a very small profit but then after the treble bet there’s not much in it to be fair for me.

  254. Harpreet 10 years ago

    Arsenal to win maybe….hummmm

  256. Alan 10 years ago

Injury time goals, don’t you just love ’em?

Had a MR+BTTS draw treble: Leicester, Bolton and Charlton. Fortunately I did them as a Trixie, so showed some profit.

    For tonight, I’m on:
    Arsenal -1
    Salzburg
    PSV

    Pays a shade over 2/1 @ Bet365

  259. thechief 10 years ago

Evening guys, going to be brief two games kicking off at 5:30

    PSV v NAC Breda

This should be a home win all day long but you wont get rich taking the 1/4, Breda haven’t scored on their last 3 visits to PSV so win to nil as to be considered. It is not a market I particular enjoy doing. In the goal scoring market Dutch star Memphis Depay scored two last week, but the player I want to be on is Luuk de Jong. He returns to the dutch league were he was prolific when he was at Twente scoring 39 in 76 games. He is 23/20 Betvictor. That is my main bet on this game but I cant see PSV losing so will have a small punt on De Jong anytime wincast. It is 7/5 Paddy Power.

    DE JONG TO SCORE 23/20
DE JONG TO SCORE ANYTIME WINCAST 7/5

Good luck if your having a bet

  260. Jesus 10 years ago

My cat says Ramsey to score dudes.

  261. Lord Clegg 10 years ago

What an awful day of results. Apart from my draw coming up in the Super Single competition it was a complete write-off- like my car. Spurs 90th minute winner really was the last straw.

  262. Wato 10 years ago

Mr F can I borrow a pen mines run out of ink?

  263. Jack Fenn 10 years ago

    PSV
    Twente
Vitesse all to win @ 1.71

Going to mutter those horrendous words and say I think they should all do it. PSV were the only team of the three to win their first game, but in fairness to Vitesse who lost, it doesn’t get any harder than playing Ajax away. Though they didn’t exactly cover themselves in glory this should be a much better showing.

Also given the nature of the league, I’ve gone for a very small stake on all 3 to win and BTTS at just over 20/1.

  264. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

    Arsenal v C.Palace

Sanago to score first 29/5 & anytime 2/1 betfair

    Sanchez anytime assist 5/2 boylesport

  265. thechief 10 years ago

    Arsenal v Crystal Palace

Arsenal are going for their 100th Premier league win at the Emirates and with recent events at Palace they should get it. Arron Ramsey started last season on fire and was a scorer in the Community shield at Wembley and can start this season in the same manner. He is 2/1 Betfred. Mickel Arteta has scored 3 times in 2 games against Palace and will be on penalties he is worth a small punt at 5/1 Coral. My final selection is on the cards market, and it is O 2 Crystal Palace cards. Todays referee gave 72 yellows in 23 games last season and with Palace chasing the ball there could be plenty of mis timed tackles to bring this up. It is at 2/1 Ladbrokes.

    RAMSEY TO SCORE 2/1
OVER 2 CRYSTAL PALACE CARDS 2/1

    Longshot small stakes bet

    ARTETA TO SCORE 5/1

Good luck if your having a bet

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

dudes, nearly 30 years of losing builds up mate and around 5-6 years of winning isn’t going to bring that back. I do well know dudes but truth be told I wish I had never gambled mate.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Raal, with all the winners you tip and decent size boxing bets that always land your betting bank will do nothing but rise.

Yes Shaun I’m great thanks! Yes I was on Bruin last night, havnt been in the thread in around a week, work work work at mo my friend! Good to hear your still going on MLS it’s a great league and one that has been profitable, so sticking to it also, few early kick offs tonight also!! At least we get to see team news

  270. Lionel 10 years ago

Your right Mr F and it’s me that parts with my hard earned
It happens and I look at it in just loosing a score .
I have in all fairness had a lot of success from your expert knowledge and study so def not complaining
I think Chelsea Arsenal double a good way forward to make some kind of profit today
I didn’t lump on Stoke thank goodness
So still a healthy pot to play with
Early days at the start of any leagues are always hard to predict
    Keep up your good work
    And really like the site

  273. jesus 10 years ago

OK enough of the sarcasm a names a name people.I didn’t think I mentioned the word promise Mr f I was only trying to make people see the positive sides of concentrating on specific markets as individuals themselves thus eliminating many confusing factors about betting.if you as a person or individual are only looking for one market or area of betting then just looking at certain markets increases your chances of winning 10 fold.if your concentrating on understand then you will not look at high scoring teams vice versa.all I say is I’m only a novice and have been merely an observer for some while and wanted to get involved.

    • 1plus2 10 years ago

      hallelujah

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

jesus, no sarcasm from me but no one should come and say they’ll guarantee winners.

  274. Dee 10 years ago

Jesus no point trying to come on here and patronise people especially mr Fixit, if you have a point then say it from the start rather than fanny about trying to be sarcastic. Listen mate anyone giving any sort of advice or strategy is welcome as betting it is is a forever evolving hobby but you need to respect the site regulars.

stats show salzburg do concede against this side and where i would be keen to go mighty asian on them a home…..not so sure away.

will take a bet on this game on the basis that salzburg are in it but 0/3.5 at 1/1 looks far safer than some others mentioned

  279. jesus 10 years ago

Dee that’s all I was trying to do the sarcasm came from other people.been following this site for a while and was just looking at certain things I’m probably wrong the way I’m thinking but don’t accuse me of fanny about because I don’t by any means! As you say it is an evolving hobby so why not let things evolve other peoples views on thing etc.I agree with you I don’t think I was criticising Mr f maybe your own perception of what I was saying about certain games certain markets.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

jesus, so what are Arsenal going to do now? Palace 1-0 up after scoring with their first chance. Do we take a risk on Arsenal turning it round?

    • 1plus2 10 years ago

Arsenal must be 1 of the most frustrating teams to watch ?

  280. Alan 10 years ago

@ Raal: Are you still reasonably confident of a Hearts win tomorrow?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Write up is on tomorrows thread Alan but answer is yes mate.

Thanks Mr F. As accurate as I can write it up as to the reasoning.

  283. Dave 10 years ago

No goals in Parnu game in first 50 mins then two goals in two minutes!

  284. Craig Alves 10 years ago

On a serious note, I hope the COA give Legia a chance with a play-off and we’ll pump them just to shut up aw the greeting faced Poles that you’ve never heard of getting by far better team involved in this. Celtic were sh*te, beaten fair and square but they cheated by no playing by UEFA’S rules, no Celtics, UEFA’S decision and nothing Celtic could do. Deila still hasn’t worked out his best team for his best team yet but at least had another couple of games and won 9-1 on aggregate and playing decnt attacking football today. Bring on the Maribor, maybe beat the hibs, the rangers but we’ll see on this week what they’re aw about. HH

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Craig, I don’t know about a play-off – Legia could simply be reinstated although I don’t think that will happen. Not sure why they’re so angry at Celtic though. Legia made the mistake and were punished – no team is going to say, “Just let them off as we don’t want to play in the Champions League”.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Clarky, people who follow Johnb will know how he’s fared today – I haven’t bet on any horses in the last few weeks. He didn’t put up 7 tips anyway – he put up 2 and I know the nap lost.

  285. Chip 10 years ago

1plus2, as an Arsenal I can tell you they seriously are the most frustrating team to follow never mind watch. We were top of the league for the longest out of any team last season and still managed to lose it.

I can still see us winning this one but yet again I see our problem will be too much possession and not enough scoring!!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

      Chip, back in it thankfully.

    • 1plus2 10 years ago

chip they will probably go on to win but just so frustrating to watch m8

You are the expert Mr fixit I said I’m just a novice what’s the problem? I didn’t give any predictions for the arsenal game.I feel like your putting me on the spot now.I know it’s a hard business to be in but don’t try throw things at me I was only trying to be helpful pointing out certain markets certain games.example raaaljacca both teams to score seems to have amazing results Greg browning overseas extremely accurate Shaun tanner seems pretty successful at anything he turns his hand to yourself just for flagging up games for people to consider on this site.I have witnessed many good tips on this site so when people say I’m being sarcastic I really don’t understand it I only wanted to begin by trying to give out a few_tips to see if I could help but obviously not.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

jesus, the only thing I said to you was don’t guarantee people winners. That’s all. Put up tips if you want but let people decide if they’re good or bad.

    Bad day at the office….
Needing arsenal -1 to break even

  297. footiefan 10 years ago

Mr f what’s all the big fuss about Celtic legia saga they broke the rules plain and simple legia need to get a grip on things which looks like they’re doing domestically one for your notebook.I’m a gets man through and through but the old timaloys r flying the flag for Scotland or Ireland or is it Syria who cares they’ll get mugged off by some second rate team from abroad that r far better than them!

  298. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Exactly, maybe it was a bit harsh on Legia but what annoys me is random Poles getting their bit in saying ‘Celtic should be ashamed’ and ‘Celtic will be booed all across Europe’ haha, it’s nothing to do wi Celtic it’s between Legia and UEFA. Maybe Henning Bergs just got bitter cos he used to play wi Rangers but then you get Rangers fans sending UEFA messages on twitter and it’s quite funny, Rangers need Celtic to get in CL to get the co-efficiante up tae

      Hail Hail…..

  299. Jack Fenn 10 years ago

I don’t know what happened with you Shortee, but I think the big issue is that Jesus is leaving himself at risk of being slated when he guarantee’s winners. Its all fine to tip and everyone is welcome, and we all rely on some luck but once you say that, people are expecting a winner from you.
Although I’m sure he wasn’t trying to be sarcastic, and he was trying to help the issue was the guarantee.

  302. jesus 10 years ago

This is a free site and you as a journalist should know this is a free space to air your views.personally if I’d been following your tips since I’ve been looking at this site I can honestly say I would of made money so hats off to you.I find your knowledge of 2nd 3rd division Scottish football very good I know you are trying to please_a lot of people but that’s just my point you are obviously very knowledgeable about football its your job I just think if your work load was decreased ie the amount of tips on different leagues your success rate would b immense.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

jesus, it’s not a place to freely air your views. It’s a tipping site – put up tips and stop clogging up the site with rubbish comments.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

orbz, I’ll recoup my losses if Chelsea beat Burnley thanks to the Arsenal/Chelsea double. Also waiting on Longford to win to complete the Euro treble.

  320. Dave 10 years ago

Thanks Geordie, always follow you. And a few others balance tells the story!happy days!

    • BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

Cheers Dave glad someone got on the treble :)

wasn’t hard to pick tho if i’m honest, Cardiff have the ability to dominate that league if they show up to the game, Bournemouth were very good to me last season and ofc atm its always worth betting against Blackpool with all there troubles in the background…

  321. Darren 10 years ago

    *LOST* :(
