TopTips_Betfred

WE know one semi-final from the World Cup – and it was the one I predicted at the start of the tournament.

Brazil will take on Germany but while I tipped a Brazil-Argentina final on the anteposts it's looking more likely that Joachim Low's men will KO the hosts after losing banned Thiago Silva for the next match and crocked Neymar for the rest of the tournament.

I said last night to get on Germany to qualify at a best 11-10 if Neymar was confirmed out and they've been cut to odds on with moist bookies this morning. My tip on Friday was France to qualify but they played nothing like they had done earlier in the tournament while the Germans looked to have a better shape with Miroslav Klose playing as a proper No.9.

Today it's all about Belgium v Argentina and Holland v Costa Rica and I've posted separate previews on both games. I'm finding the first one tough to call but can't see past Holland to reach the semis while respecting Costa Rica's achievements so far.

If Argentina win three of the fours sides I tipped to make the semis will have done so. The fourth I predicted could be an outsider as one usually battles through and Costa Rica would fit that bill. But surely 5000-1 no-hopers can't go all the way? Time will tell.

Super Single

Robben to score (9pm)
(6-4, bet365)

Daily Double

Belgium v Argentina under 2.5 goals (5pm)

Holland to win (9pm)
(13-8, McBookie, BetVictor)

Posted these yesterday but thought I would repost in the relevant date thread. I’ve got some overnight MLS action.

    MLS

FC Dallas v Philadelphia over 2.5 MG

BTTS has cashed in 5 of 6 all time meetings. Over 2.5 is 3-3 but last meeting ended 2-2.

FC Dallas are 7-2 over 2.5 in their 9 home games this season with 4 of them going over 3.5. They have no clean sheets at home and have failed to score only once. Their home games averaging 3.44 gpg. FC Dallas is 16-3 over 2.5 match goals in their last 19 home games dating back to last season.

Philadelphia is 8-2 over 2.5 goals in their 10 road games with 3 going over 3.5. They have failed to score only once and have only one home clean sheet. Philadelphia is also averaging 3.44 gpg away from home.  Philadelphia is 7-3 over 2.5 in their last 10 away games v top 6 sides.

Dallas has played over 2.5 in 72.2% of their matches this season (both home/away) and Philadelphia has played over 2.5 in 64.71% of all their MLS matches so far this season.

OVER 2.5 at 1.80 odds is my play for this match.

    I’ve also added:

Colorado v Columbus over 2.25 AH MG
RSL v New England over 2.5 MG

Finally I’m going to take Shaun’s tip and go NY Red Bulls Team Total over 1.5

Best of luck all. I’ll have world cup selections for Saturday’s games a bit later

Great work yesterdays guys, namely Raal, Harpreet, Greg, Chris Guy plus probably another ten!

Needed some help from you guys with this bet.

    I have a £4 fourfold on:

    Germany WIN vs France WON
    Brazil- Colombia BTTS WON
    Argentina WIN vs Belgium PENDING
Holland- Costa Rica 2.5+ goals PENDING

    Wins £77 or so

Should I place some bets to cover and if so when and what stakes?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

The R Kid, you can’t really cover it yet. Look again if Argentina win but even then you need two more bets to come up. The easy cover is when you’re waiting for the final leg of an accumulator.

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

The R Kid, read it over and over but still don’t get what you meant by “Chris Guy plus probably another ten!” My brain stopped. ‘plus probably another ten’? huh? what the?

  5. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Can never write the Germans or Italians off any tourney but Italians had a tough group and surprisingly went at GS, Germany Brazil is an interesting one and with the crowd and the ref behind them can’t see Brazil not qualifying, against Argies in final it’ll be a different story tho but still think Brazil will win, fancy costa rica to give holland a game today and score plus Argentina win so get almost 7/2 but maybe better at other bookies.

  6. 1plus2 10 years ago

Dipping my toes in the MLS and Ecuadorian Serie A

Dep Cuenca v Manta FC BTTS @ 11/10

Houston Dynamo v New York Red Bulls over 2.5 gls 4/5

Colorado Rapids v Columbus Crew over 2.5 gls @ 21/20

Real Salt Lake v New England Revolution over 2.5 gls @ 4/5

    …………………………………………….

Colorado Rapids v Columbus Crew btts 4/7

Real Salt Lake v New England Revolution btts 8/11

Houston Dynamo v New York Red Bulls btts 8/13

Doing these as singles, doubles and trebles with the top 4 in an accy as well.

  7. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Actually got £39.07 instead of £35 for void bets, dunno how that is but I’ll take it :) not gonna bet much on Argies tho as too unreliable but over 4.5 costa rica corners is at 6/5 amd Holland don’t usually get many corners as they play the ‘passing game’, +2 is 5/4 and neither to get RT7 is 11/10 which could be a decent shout but goals can change a game within seconds

  8. Rick 10 years ago

Neymar defo out of w.c according to talksport, broke a vertebrae and thiago out.

  9. Richie C 10 years ago

I think you’ve got the odds the wrong way round on the holland match

  10. Chrisemy 10 years ago

Please 1 more goal in the Tampa Bay match

  11. ChTheScot 10 years ago

Never say never, I remember putting the equivalent of 4months full wages on Portugal to beat Greece in the Euro 2004 final thinking I was buying money, had a car and holiday all picked out before the game and we all know how that finished.
Fancy the Dutch but to sensible stakes.

  12. Craig Alves 10 years ago

    Holland games in WC so far 10-2(Mexico 1-0 down 2-1last min win), 2-7(2-0 Chile), 2-3( 2-3 v Australia) & 1-4(5-1 v Spain)

    Costa Rica games so far 6-5(3-1 v Uruguay), 5-4(1-0 v Italy), 3-7(0-0 v England :) ), 3-11(v Greece last min equaliser)

I can see this going Hollands way but Costa Rica will have the home sides fans on their side, over 4.5 Costa Rica corners at 6/5 looks decent value.

    Main bets

Costa Rica over 6.5 corners 6/5
Costa Rica +2 corner handicap 5/4

Also worth a bet is CR 1st corner at 11/8, 50/50 bet and SA team up for it is decent odds.

  13. thechief 10 years ago

    Brazil v Germany,

I wouldn’t like to see Germany to win it, but with Silva suspended and Neymar now out, I cant see past the Germans to make the final, and 11/10 to qualify at Coral looks the way to go. Germany to win in 90mins is also worth taking

    GERMANY TO QUALIFY 11/10

Good luck if your having a bet

  14. ChTheScot 10 years ago

BBC have confirmed Neymar is 100% out of the world cup with a broken vertebrae, says it’ll be a few weeks in a back brace but he’ll be ok

  15. Frank 10 years ago

Neymar ruled out of remainder of World Cup with fractured vertebrae. (multiple news sources)

    TANNERS TEMPTER TODAY

Houston Dynamo v New York Red Bulls

New York Red Bulls over 1.5 team goals 6/5

New York have scored over 1.5 team goals in 5 of the last 6 H2H matches v Houston. New York are unbeaten in the last 2 away in the MLS with a great victory over New England and a great draw at Kansas. New York have won the last 5 league meetings betweens these 2 out scoring Houston 15-1. With Wright-Phillips, Henry & Cahill they have the players here to grabs a couple of goals.

Every day until the end of the month I will put up the best bet I can find over evens just to see how I get on. :)

    6/5 WINNER!!!

THE QUESTION IS WERE YOU TEMPTED??? :D

  42. harpreet 10 years ago

I hope it continues mate….I was meant to be on but my little boy wanted to go to sleep so just put my phone on charge and left it. Just got up now read the thread and boooooom :-)

I must say though..I have a feeling about Messi today. He will be the hero yet again and will stick small stake on him FGS. I feel Argentina will win..However 1 goal will decide this game.

    BTTS
    Argentina win and BTTS
    Messi first goal scorer

These are my initial feelings today…So far anyway. I will post what I have bet on later though before the match.

Anything earlier….Let me know…Greg shaun…Tony…Raal…& all the rest of u.

Might nod of again for a bit shortly…My 18 month old son keeps shouting GOOOAAAAALLLLL for some reason. It must be a good sign guys…Especially for goals today lol

  43. Chris Guy 10 years ago

Just putting on a couple of bets this morning. Leaving to go to Blackpool pleasure beach for the day. Here’s what I fancy.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Chris, where’s the mad first scorer bets?

  44. Frank 10 years ago

Most of the posting will be on the World Cup matches there is one MLS match I posted the other day early and the price has already moved against the original line. I will therefore post it again if any want to get in it early as I did. I got it at 1.80 two days ago. Shop around or play the Asian total of 2.75 because I think this game can see 4-5 goals

    MLS

    Vancouver v Seattle

I have bet this one extremely early as I anticipate the price getting worse as game time approaches. This match will be played at 10 pm EST in North American on July 5th, so for my friends across the Atlantic, it will kick off at 3am on Monday morning.

Vancouver H games averaging 3.42 GPG (7 PLAYED)
Seattle Road games averaging 4.125 GPG (8 played). Seattle’s goals scored overall leads the MLS (33)with the next closest team at 28 goals scored.

Vancouver has conceded 2 or more goals in 8 of their 15 matches played thus far including 2 goals in 4 of their 7 home games played.

Over 2.5 is 6-1 in Vancouver’s home matches and 4 of those 7 have seen 4 or more total goals.

Seattle has scored 2 or more in 10 of 16 matches played.

Over 2.5 is 6-2 in Seattle’s 8 road games and 5 of those 8 have seen over 3.5 goals including a pair of 3-2 games and a 5-0 game.

Over 2.5 match goals is 6-3 in the 9 head to head encounters between these two teams (in fact all 6 of those overs had 4 or more total goals scored and the last meeting at Vancouver ended in a 2-2 draw.

There have been over 2.5 goals in 9 of 10 Vancouver home matches against top-six teams and over 3.5 goals in 11 of Vancouver’s last 20 home matches dating back to last season.

    My Pick:

    Vancouver v Seattle o2.5 MG 1.80 or you might want to fancy;

    Over 2.75 AH at 2.02 odds (51/50)

Good luck if you play it.

    • Frank 10 years ago

      *** Correction ***

The match kicks off at 10 pm my local time here in Toronto and 3am London time on Sunday, not Monday as I incorrectly stated. I apologize for any confusion.

All thanks to Frank And Shaun for the late night tips!!!i was so happy to be awake!!!!glad I was on!!not all though just few but wtf profit is profit!!!!cheers mates

  48. robbo 10 years ago

I used to think betting on uk friendlies was a mugs game but the last two summers I have made profit by picking the right games to bet on and that’s the vital point.
i make a shortlist of 5 or 6 matches and then spend time researching each game via the net before deciding on my strongest fancies, not too many games today in the UK But there’s two that I will be on.
Brighton are sending their strongest squad to local ryman premier side lewes, obviously a big gulf in class and I will be on Brighton minus 1 or 2 when the game comes in running, Brighton are 3-10 outright
the second pick is Elgin away at Highland league Lossiemouth, information harder to come by here but I can’t find any reason why Elgin won’t be sending their first team and at 1-2 they look a steal against a very poor side who finished fourth bottom with four wins all season and a goal difference of minus 59!
Again I will be on the handicap in running as Elgin should rattle in a few here hopefully

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

robbo, I hate betting on friendlies partly because so many substitutions are made which can effect how you think it might go. However, research is king and if you spend enough time you can come up with some gems. I’m betting on Wimbledon and the World Cup today and that’s it.

Money on germany to beat brazil me thinks, Ze Germans won’t fear the Terrifying JO!!!! Haha

  52. mattr 10 years ago

Morning gang. Great tipping going on again last night, good stuff.

One of the 2nd half highest scoring came in yesterday and will be on for both of todays QF and quietly confident they will both roll in. Will be very surprised if Argentina v Belgium is not 0-0 at half time with 86% of the two teams goals coming in the 2nd half of games so far. The Dutch game will in my opinion be more open and even though I can see 1 or 2 first half goals I honestly believe there will be more in the 2nd half. I’m predicting Holland to win 3-2 so am obviously on Raal’s btts too along with btts and O2.5mg.

Here are my bets with a couple of crazy small stakes bets thrown in.

    Messi FGS 3/1
    Messi AGS 21/20
Argentina v Belgium 2nd half highest scoring 20/21
Half time draw Full time Argentina 7/2 (small stakes for fun)
Holland v Costa Rica btts 11/10
Holland v Costa Rica btts and O2.5mg 15/8
Holland to win 3-2 33/1 (small stakes for fun)

Good luck if you get on any of them. Look forward to some overs tips from Tony, Greg et al too….

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Good luck Matt mate, here’s hoping for a decent match tonight with Holland.

    • mattr 10 years ago

cheers buddy, I have a feeling is going to be a classic…

  53. Alex 10 years ago

My fancy before the tournament started was a Germany v Argentina final. That still looks to be on. With the loss of their captain and leading goal scorer, Brazil have been weakend considerably for their semi final encounter. The Brazil we saw last night were a bit of a red herring, they looked good because Colombia kept going for them hence we had a great viewing spectacle. Germany are not that way inclined. Only the refereeing gods can turn this for Brazil now that and a brace from sideshow bob. Germany to qualify at evens looks good. I’m with Mr F and the chief with this one.

  56. Luke 10 years ago

Robbo. About the friendlys… fulham to beat east fife gotta be worth a look??? havent seen odds yet. Mabe silly odds on

    • mattr 10 years ago

1/6 mate. Only value is likely to be in goals markets

    • Chip 10 years ago

Luke, best odds are 1/6. No point in betting on that for a minimal return. Try looking at some of the goal markets for Fulham team goals or something :)

  57. Chip 10 years ago

Sorry Matt, didn’t see you had replied to Luke!

    • mattr 10 years ago

No worries Chip, key thing is we are both singing from same hymn sheet :-)

  58. Duncan Poundcake 10 years ago

I may have overreacted to the ref in the Brazil match last night and in the cold light of day I will be hanging onto my 7/1 Germany bet as the good people at McBookie will pay double the odds on it ,but still laying the other two .Thanks Mr F for pointing this out last night. If you can keep your head when all around etc etc

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Duncan, with Neymar confirmed out it’s already looking better.

  59. robbo 10 years ago

Yeah the price is too short for me, I tend to do ht-ft or handicaps but only for prices around evens or better

  60. mattr 10 years ago

Robbo you can get 6/5 on Elgin winning at half time and full time which seems pretty good value?

  61. Richard 10 years ago

Cheers for the goalscorer tips yesterday Chris – missed Hummels but got on for David Luiz so still got a pretty healthy return. Gonna keep the faith for today’s tips

  62. CatNapper 10 years ago

I know it’s a long shot but couldn’t resist a small punt on Costa Rica to win on pens 14/1 at Coral. If it does go that far the dutch have a dreadful record at spot kicks.

  63. harpreet 10 years ago

Sanjeev Bhaskar ?? Who’s that Raal ? lol

  64. Chip 10 years ago

CatNapper, if you’re confident then it’s worth a go.

I’m the same as u mate…I’m on Argentina outright also today

  75. Rory 10 years ago

Anyone know anything about cycling? Is bet victor special of cabindish to win stage 1 of TDF at 7/2 a good bet?

    • Mr. Orange 10 years ago

Tough one to call Rory. I think it will be Kittel or Cavendish.

  76. Troy 10 years ago

11/10 at 29 mins played for over 1.5 goals. They don’t fancy them in this match!!

  77. harpreet 10 years ago

FC SEUZACH …. 2-7 AT THE MOMENT…Game looks crazy with just over 5 mins left back over 9.5 goals quick at 7/4 – Small stake I can feel another goal going in

  78. Rory 10 years ago

Thanks mr f il take a punt at that price for interest when does the first stage finish by the way?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Rory, I don’t follow the cycling but there are usually some good tips posted but while I might highlight a price I won’t be advising anything.

  79. Ryan Allan 10 years ago

No mention of you tipping France to beat Germany then mr f? apparantly this is the semi you predicted (Well done, the 2 favourites won their groups and progressed as expected)…strange you diverted from that mrfixit in yesterdays tips but here we are today opening your piece with talk of correctly calling the semi final last month. interesting

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Ryan, do you want Mr F to open his thread with him highlighting his losers? Mr F simply gives his opinions but his site gives you some of the greatest free tipping you will ever see. I like to see Mr F’s opinions as they are though through but I follow only my own opinions and those of Greg, Chris Guy, Tonyboy and The Chief although I do not back every tip they put up unless I am happy with it myself. It is all about opinions mate and they are given free of charge so focus on the positive and make yourself a few pounds ;)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, that’s exactly how it is. They’re just my opinion and people should always have their own if they’re serious about betting.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Outside of winning I reckon this site has educated people to more ‘intelligent’ betting strategies and that alone Mr F makes it all worthwhile.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Ryan, read the post again – it was the semi-final I predicted at the start of the tournament. But you’re new to the site so you wouldn’t have read that. France until yesterday had been pretty impressive but didn’t turn up. I gave reasoning for choosing France but wasn’t confident about that one or going with Brazil to qualify.

  80. John T 10 years ago

Can someone explain to me why Shelbourne (Top of the league) are 5/1 away to Longford tonight?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

John, on current form Longford are playing much better and would go top with a win but something that makes your 5/1 also look good is Shelbourne have won the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

  81. InterYerNan 10 years ago

    Yes Greg!!!

  82. Troy 10 years ago

    Greg you jammy git! hahahahahahaha

  85. robbo 10 years ago

    hi mattr,
i have taken a small bet on elgin ht/ft at 6-5 which I am confident about but I will wait for ten minutes in and hopefully smash the handicap market for my main bet.`
I tend to look what side is piling up the corners, shots and dangerous attacks etc and that gives a good indication of how the game is going

  86. Yesevil 10 years ago

    Never in doubt Greg

Had the same problem Raal, went to the gym and missed the post and most of the first half. Backed it at 4/6 :)

  93. Dave 10 years ago

Raal what type of stake would you advise on over 3.5 goals gregs tip in the Travas v Kurressare match…i missed the first half too and am looking to jump on board :-D

  94. craigyboy 10 years ago

    World Cup quarter final bets:
Main Bets for each game, followed by score prediction
    – **WIN**Brazil v Colombia BTTS – 11/10 – Betfair
    – **LOSE**Colombia to qualify 2/1 – Ladbrokes

    Prediction: 1-1
Both teams know each other very well and like Brazil’s previous game this will be a very entertaining game. Brazil were lucky against Chile and I see Colombia sneaking this but they may have to wait until Extra Time to take advantage.

    France v Germany Draw – 23/10 – Coral
    Prediction: 1-1
I suspect a cagey game initially but one that may open up if a goal is scored fairly early on. I think if its 0-0 or 1-1 at the 60/70min mark it could be another game going to extra time.
    **LOSE**

Todays games (written before yesterdays games):

    – Argentina v Belgium Draw – 12/5 – Bet365
    – Small stake – 0-0 – 15/2 – BetVictor
    Prediction: 0-0
I haven’t enjoyed a single Argentinian game as of yet and up until the game against USA the same could be said for Belgium. I suspect a similar scenario here. Both teams will show each other respect, a very defensive looking game. I’m hoping Belgium can sneak it.

    – Netherlands v Costa Rica – Netherland win and over 2.5 goals – 6/4 – Betfair
    Prediction: 3-1
I predicted Mexico to knock the Dutch out in the heat last time out and up until 80mins that looked like it was going to be the case. The Dutch rallied and got a contentious penalty decision and the rest is history. Against Costa Rica I don’t think there will be any such late drama here. Netherlands will end the Costa Rican dream.

    – I’ll also be going with an under 2.5 double for the France/Germany and Argentina/Belgium games – 2.71 – Stan James

Potentially I think we will see 2 good games (Bra/Col and Net/CosR), 1 interesting, tactical game (Ger/Fra) and an absolute borefest (Arg/Bel).

I reckon the semi-finals will pan out with:
    Colombia v Germany
    Netherlands v Belgium

Here’s to an all European final which nobody predicted before the tournament. Come on ze Germans!

  95. Chip 10 years ago

The stats are showing that Rakvere are still in with a shout against Tarvas here even though they have 10 men. I might have a wee dabble on Rakvere to win @ 20/1.

    • Chip 10 years ago

Oops I meant Tarvas against Kuressaare

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Chip, can cover your bet now I would imagine mate, great shout.

  96. raaljaca 10 years ago

Dave, I cannot advise stakes mate simply put on every penny you have, sell the house, car, wife and kids and lump the lot on Gregs tips ;)

  97. harpreet 10 years ago

Morning to you to Mahalo…I will take ur 3PM tip straight away or as soon as it’s available mate. Thank you

  98. mahalo 10 years ago

Afternoon all… trust we’re all having a blast this weekend. Greg… Awesome tipping this morning. Good way to start the weekend ;-). Raal Harpreet, and Mr. F, howdy to you all.

Here goes my first tip here:

    ONS vs Aland United (15:00)
    over 1.5 fhg (o2.5fhg if you’re bold ;))
    over 4.5 mg

Their last 5 matches ended with at least 5 goals. Good luck if you’re following.

  99. Tonyboy 10 years ago

    Greetings from the beach!

Good to see lots of goals last night. My Austria friendly fell just short but there were plenty of goals in the matches that I highlighted in Norway and Latvia.

I’ve had a look at friendlies for today and only one I like the look of is between Cliftonville of Northern Ireland and The New Saints from Wales. Both teams love a goal and play a very offensive game in their respective leagues.

    Back >2.5 goals @ 1.7.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers Tonyboy and Greg you genius, 8/11 will do nicely mate ;)

  100. Dave 10 years ago

Lol Raal – chance a be a fine thing to sell the wife! Nah appriciate that mate il prob go for your BTTS in the Holland V Costa Rica game… thats your best tip of today right? Do you have any others..

    Cheers Big Fella

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Dave, no mate just that one. Argentina outright is the other I am on and cannot see them falling to Belgium.

  101. Purvy 10 years ago

Lads can you do over fhg on William hill?

    Cheers!

  102. harpreet 10 years ago

Chip…its now 2-2 could be a very good shout from u mate :-)

Thanks Gregg…Over 3.4 goals as u said BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM :-) ££££ Glad I was on it

  103. harpreet 10 years ago

Been following this website & forum for ages but never left a post, so here’s an official hello to everyone!

  106. Fitba Tips 10 years ago

    Howdy Folks

I need a wee bit of help from the LOI punters.

Sean Ireland, cooldude and any other Irish guys out there…

    Longford v Shelbourne

Shelbourne are out as far as 5/1 today.

They have won both previous meetings this season and won 7/8 of the H2H over the last 4 years.

Just listened to an interview with Tony Cousins (longford manager) and he was talking about how other managers regard them as ‘a premier side’. Longford definitely have the best form going into the match but I cant shake the H2H’s. And do we mind when Longford let a lot iif us down failing to beat Cobh a few short weeks back?

5/1!!!! 10/1 to win with BTTS!!!

    What am I missing?

    What am I missing

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Fitba, already highlighted by John and it does look pretty daft odds. Well done on your BTTS last night mate.

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      Cheers Raal

Another one today with Rovers v Pats. Also even money with Coral. Pats missing Ken Oman from defence which will make them leaky as seen last week v Bray and they will score the form they are in.

Big derby, complete sell out, could be a few goals, or might be none. Worth a shot but

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Fitba, I can safely say Shelbourne should not be 5/1 shots. I know a player on that team and he says there in the form of their lives.
Now with regards to head to heads or any other stats you may have I never really read into much of that.
I can only think the 5/1 is based on the fact that Shels have a couple of injuries and are away from home.

  107. Greg Browning 10 years ago

    Travas v Kurressare KO 11am

The hosts were hammered 5-0 by Parnu during the weeks and face a Kurressare side who have seen plenty of goals in their matches! Small stakes

Back over 1.5 First half goals 11/10 WIN
Over 3.5 match goals 11/10 WIN

    2-2 78 mins :)

  108. Cally g 10 years ago

    Belgium to qualify tonight.

    Holland in 90mins

  109. Ant Warrisco 10 years ago

Greg – you’re an absolute superstar!

    Thank you very muchly

  110. mahalo 10 years ago

Here goes my 2nd tip here:

LSK Kvinner vs Arnar Bjornar (13:00)
    over 1.5 fhg (o2.5fhg if you’re bold ;) )
    over 3.5 mg

Their last 2 matches in 2013 ended with at least 4 goals. Recent matches against other teams have been a goalfest (as much as 8 goals in some matches for the away team). Good luck if you’re following.

  111. Rowen 10 years ago

Nicely done Greg, what are your thoughts on the 14.00 Levadia game? Looks a clear cut away win to me, no?

  112. John Regan 10 years ago

When I saw john t post about shelbourne I to had a look at the h2h 5/1 seems way to big.

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      John Regan

When did John T post about this? What did he have to say?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Fitba Tips, it wasn’t a tip. John T was pointing out the price, that’s all. Right, I’m off.

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      OK Mr F

      ta for that

  113. craigyboy 10 years ago

Was going to have a bash on a couple of friendly games today. Was looking at Fulham, Brighton, Derby and Chesterfield to win. Going to wait nearer kick off and see if I can get any team news from anywhere.
Derby seem to be taking a strong squad and won 1-0 a few days ago. Not much team news for Brighton on their website. No team news for Fulham either. Chesterfield seem to be taking most of their senior players.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

      craigbyboy, Brighton were tipped earlier.

    • craigyboy 10 years ago

I take it their taking a decent squad then? The Brighton website seems more focused on delivering Lewes team news for some reason.

  114. zoobsk 10 years ago

    Any advice tips for Swedish games at 3pm today;

    Hacken

    Kalmar

  115. BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

Fitba I thought the exact same so I’ve stuck a tenner on shelbourne win and a fiver on btts and shelbourne win, screw it, its worth a gamble

  116. Greg Browning 10 years ago

No worries gents, good start to the day and both odds against! :)

Raal your making me blush ;)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Greg, well done. Off out with kids and dog and back well in time for the Argentina game which I’m afraid could go either way but let’s hope it’s a good one.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Have faith Mr F, Belgium may make nice chocolate but Argentina is known for its steak and steak trumps chocolate every single time!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, if Messi is primed he’ll melt the Belgians but another tough call.

  117. John T 10 years ago

I have a tip that may be of interest to some people.

KuFu-98 play FC Lahti Akatemia at home today with a 2pm KO. The odds for KuFu to win are 9/4, however on closer inspection, they have already beaten FC LA away on the 18th of May this year. I also looked at the league table and noticed that KuFu are currently 4th, whereas FC LA are 8th (In a 10 team league.)

    So the tip is either:

    KuFu-98 win – 9/4

    KuFu-98 or Draw – 5/6

  118. captain 10 years ago

Raal what are you tipping today mate?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

captain, the BTTS in the Holland game tonight mate.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

      BRAZIL v COLOMBIA

      BOTH TO SCORE 21/20 ** WON ** :) ** :) **

After a brutal last 16 the 4 games left have to be looked at from the same perspective of will they be played so tight that 0-0 and extra time will be an option? This game looks the opposite though as Colombia will have no fear of Brazil and in James Rodriguez and Jackson Martinez they have the power to score without doubt. Assuming Colombia can breach a reasonably poor Brazil defence then the almost even money quote is a stand out bet.

      HOLLAND v COSTA RICA

      BOTH TO SCORE 5/4

Another game where we see Holland facing a South American side who will go for it. Holland are lucky to be at this stage and no doubt will be wary of sitting to deep against a Costa Rican team who have netted in the 3 games that meant something from the 4 played. I see this as the second game where we will see both to score coming up.

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE DOUBLE 3/1+ (VARIOUS)

  119. Greg Browning 10 years ago

Rowen, should be a comfortable away win! Won’t be betting on it as you are relying on Levedia to score the goals as they don’t concede many!

  120. Chip 10 years ago

The stats are showing that Tarvas are still in with a shout against Kuressaare here even though they have 10 men. I might have a wee dabble on Rakvere to win @ 20/1.

    _____________

    * LOST *

Awk well, was worth a couple of quid. Managed to get it at 25/1 and it was looking good after Tarvas equalised but wasn’t meant to be! Sorry if you followed

  121. craigyboy 10 years ago

    **Small F1 bet for interest**
Runaway leader Nico Rosberg to qualify in pole is 5/2 on William Hill.

Too good odds to turn the nose up at.

  122. John Regan 10 years ago

It’s an older comment he to was asking why shelbourne were 5/1trying to get some info from other tipsters.

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      Cheers John

Well my mind is made up now anyway

      :D

  123. captain 10 years ago

Cheers mate already on it ;)

  124. JoeX 10 years ago

    Germany Qualify !
    BRA/COL btts !
    Argentina Qualify ?
    Holland -1 ?

    14/1

I feel a walloping is on the cards for Costa Rica, fair fooks to them showing David can beat Goliath and not just by a fluke, again and again the Goliaths fell.. I don’t see that happening tonight. Tonight they face a tactically astute coach in Van Gaal.

Doing the talking on the park is on fire Arjen Robben. He shows a relentless hunger to attack with the speed of a mongoose and movement akin to Margot Fonteyn. Costa Rica will do well to stop this star.

  125. Scotty3456 10 years ago

What a star you’re Greg, helping others thanks pal

  126. BusinessmanNL 10 years ago

Hi all, long time ago since I posted here. This is Holland’s comfirmed line up for tonight:

    Cillessen
Kuyt – Martins Indi – Vlaar – de Vrij – Depay
    Wijnaldum – Blind
    Sneijder
    Robben – v Persie

Depay is a winger from origin, so you could say that ‘we’ play a 3-5-2 formation.

  127. bigmick 10 years ago

0n that longford ‘v shelbourne match shelbourne odds are dropping so its make your mind up time

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      Big Mick

you can still get 5/1 with 365

  128. Pedro 10 years ago

    Molde v Sogndal 2:30pm kick-off

Only game in Norway’s top division, and whilst Molde should win, they’re about 1/4, which isn’t worth backing. Despite Molde being in decent form and sitting six points clear at the top, they do concede the odd goal. Sogndal are a decent form and you would expect them to have a goal in them.

Both Teams to Score: Evens (William Hill)

  129. BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

I’m gonna go Rovers vs Pats BTTS 10/11 @bet365 worth a punt

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      BearedGeordie

I think it has a really good chance and @ evens with Coral for anyone with an account

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

Decided I couln’t pass up the opportunity with Shelbourne. taken them DNB and W/BTTS for a smaller stake. This could be a good Saturday. Or it could be rubbish.

      Molde, Kalmar @ 2.12
      Falkenbergs v Halmstads BTTS @ 1.85
Shamrock Rov v St Patricks Ath BTTS @ 2.0
      Longford v SHELBOURNE DNB @ 4.0
      Longord v SHELBOURNE W/BTTS @ 11.0

  130. Fred Lime 10 years ago

Hi, where is the best place to get team news for the MLS matches?

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

      Hi Fred Lime-

There’s a few places but the official MLS site is always good- http://www.mlssoccer.com/

    • Fred Lime 10 years ago

      Cheers Shaun.

Thinking about having an anytime goalscorer treble:

      Martins (Seattle)
      Torres (Chivas USA)
      Dwyer (Kansas City)

  131. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

    Vittsjo v Kristianstad in-play

Over 1.5 MG 4/7- main bet.

    Over 2.5 MG 13/8 & BTTS 6/4- small bets.

In Vittsjos last 5 home league games over 2.5 MG has appeared in 4/5 & BTTS in 3/5.

4 out of the last 5 H2Hs have gone BTTS the last 2 games at Vittsjo have gone BTTS and overs.

Will be relying on Vittsjo to grab a goal or 2 but be dodgy at the back as Kristianstads away games don’t ooze goals- in the last 5 away 1/5 BTTS- 1/5 over 2.5 MG.

  132. BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

Debating to either bet on argie to win in 90mins or to Qualify :S or just not bet on it and enjoy it with a beer or 5 :P

  133. harpreet 10 years ago

bearded Geordie….I would put a stake on Argentina to qualify however like I said I feel it will be only 1 goal in it…I’m feeling extra time mate

  134. Alex 10 years ago

Guys, would be grateful if someone can help. I’ve never dabbled with multiple goalscorers before on the same bet. If I take two players as first goal scorers and tick the e/w double, do I get 1/3 the odds and also does that mean the bet effectively reverts to an anytime goalscorer by virtue of the e/w? Thanks

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Alex, by doing each way you are in effect backing both to score first and both to score anytime at 1/3 of the odds or whatever the bookie offers. If one scores first and one second etc you still only get the 1/3 of the odds. A better bet in my opinion is just a straight anytime double.

    • Alex 10 years ago

Cheers Raal, feeling my way around the various markets and want to make sure I actually understand a bet before placing hard earned bookie money on it :)

  135. raaljaca 10 years ago

    Nice one BG.

  136. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Thanks smokey, Alex, footie fan, Kendog, Chrisemy, Chip, Rory and sirowenlee for your posts- sorry just catching up! :)

  137. BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

  138. Chip 10 years ago

    Argentina v Belgium 17.00

    Under 2.5 goals @ 8/11 (BetVictor)

Pretty much every knockout game has been a tight affair in this World Cup and I expect this one to go the same way. Only 1 of Belgium’s 4 games have ended over 2.5 goals and have averaged 2 goals per game and that shortens to 1.25 goals per game if you take away the 3 goals scored in extra time against USA. They’ve only scored 6 goals this tournament but are strong defensively only conceding 2 – the extra time goal against USA was the only time they’ve conceded from open play.

Argentina’s strikers haven’t impressed me much this tournament and I don’t think they will tonight either against a strong Belgian defence. They’ve looked shaky defensively but have kept 7 clean sheets in 9 games including 2 at this World Cup.

I’m taking under 2.5 goals purely based on Belgium’s strong defence and Argentina’s recent clean sheet record.

    Good luck :)

  139. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Fred- I wouldn’t put you off any of them mate.

Franks already tipped goals in the Vancouver/Seattle match so Martins looks a good choice.

I mentioned Dwyer yesterday, if you fancy Kansas to score he must have a good chance- 11 goals this season 9 more than anyone else in the side.

Torres has been in good recent form scoring match winners in the last 2 games + Montreal are always prone to conceding a goal away from home. They conceded in 16/18 MLS away games last season & 6/7 so far this season.

Obviously with scorers bets there’s a risk before knowing starting teams but all the best with that mate :)

  140. Rustychest 10 years ago

No love for the mega underdogs Costa Rica tonight?

  141. craigyboy 10 years ago

    **Small F1 bet for interest**
Runaway leader Nico Rosberg to qualify in pole is 5/2 on William Hill.

Too good odds to turn the nose up at.
    ***WIN***

Rosberg steals it right at the death after they told Hamilton to move over to let him pass. Controversial but a winner at reasonable odds :)

  142. thechief 10 years ago

Afternoon guys, London Broncos v Wigan Warriors ko 3pm

I don’t normally bother posting my rugby bets when they are not televised but think there is some value to be had in this game despite Wigan being 1/50.

London have not won a game all season and whilst they are performing better of late they have their work cut out despite Wigan missing a whole host of players.

Wigan won this fixture last season 64-6 and they should win this even without several first teamers. The player I want to be on here is Liam Farrell. He is Wigan’s top scorer this season with 12 tries in 12 games. He is 11/10 Betfred. The wingers, centres and full back are always favourites in this market, so we get a chance to double our money. I am also having a go on him getting two or more as he has done so in his last two matches and I think Wigan will make several trips into the Broncos 20m line. He is 9/2 at Paddy Power.

    FARRELL TO SCORE 11/10

Good luck if your having a bet

Craig k seems winning 10 odd prem league medals doesn’t make you a prem league legend in your book would you mind telling me what does? And also name me even one Liverpool right back who was better than Neville I eagerly await your nomination

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Rory your right Gary Neville won many trophies and should be considered a prem legend . The only right back at Liverpool which would have been up there would have been rob jones if it wasn’t for injury he was a great right back. Obviously prem legend is only in the premier league era. Sky like to think that football only started in 1992 though which is unfortunate

Norwegian League at 3 guys….Goals. Goals. Goals.

    Check out Rodde v Brummandal.

Brummandal are well over priced at 17/10.
Recent form is as bad as Rodde but their away form generally isn’t that bad

  150. Rory 10 years ago

    LOST!!!

Match finished 0-1. Vittsjo had 114 dangerous attacks and 8 shots the last I looked but no goals! :(

  161. craig k 10 years ago

Rory, just a bit of banter I personally can’t stand Neville and dont know if he can be considered a legend, its a big word to place on him in my opinion. Undoubtedly an excellent defender in his time but just can’t stand the guy and i would nominate Jason mcateer he was my fave lfc right back haha

  162. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I would be happy to hear anyone’s thoughts on my bets.

One of my bets for the quarter finals is a treble, all to qualify,Brazil @ 1.4, Argentina @ 1.5 and France @ 2.25 = 4.72. *LOST*

I placed most my bets before the WC. Ones for France, top European team, top scorer, young player, golden gloves etc. So I wont be placing any massive bets. I have done;France to beat Germany normal time & Benzema score-cast 2-0 *LOST*

I can’t see beyond a France victory in normal time tomorrow.

My thinking is, France has been the only consistent team all tournament. If my treble were to come to fruition, France would play Brazil. I see a France win, were that to happen. That would leave a possibility of a France V Argentina final (I took it at 37. pre tournament) But I see that it is available at 13.(12/1) still a decent offer. Benzema is only 26 & in his prime.

I think it worth remembering that if France or any other team were to play Argentina in the final then they would have all the support from the home nation & fans in the stadium.

Lastly, Benzema is still available at odds up to @21. *LOST* for top scorer. If France were to eliminate Germany & Brazil, Colombia, that would leave they way clear for him to score 2 goals in 3 games! not unrealistic, especially as he would be expected to score one if France were to beat Germany. Sorry for the thesis……

  163. Rory 10 years ago

Mcateer Craig lol now I know your on the wind up…I can understand why you don’t like Neville he was always a passionate red, probably the same reason a lot of my fellow utd fans can’t stand Gerard or Carra not me tho I think both were great players the former especially so…but club rivalries shouldn’t take away from the fact that Neville was a great RB in his day and his link up play with beck ham and indeed his win crossing was second to none plus he had the balls to realise he was finished mid season and step down and now he is the best pundit on the tele along with Carra who has surprised many of us

  164. fiddler 10 years ago

Reminder of my post from few days ago
    —————————————–
I’ve decided to post it now before odds drop

FIDDLER’S BEST BET OF THE GAME
    ARGENTINA – BELGIUM
    over 2.5 goals
    5/4

I am aware that after last round most people will consider on betting for under hoping that the trend for them will continue but I really believe that bookies made a mistake and it’s going to be an open game. I’m not impressed with any of the defences and although both teams didn’t concede a lot so far they were not against quality offensive players so far. USA showed us yesterday how easily exposed Belgium defence gets if you use fast wingers (it’s not verthongen’s position and hazard never heard about defending so he won’t support him). Defenders on Argentina side are even worse in my opinion, they only look good cause they support midfielders in offensive. Messi will rip apart Belgium holding midfielders, Di Maria and Lavezzi both put constand pressure on left and right back, Belgium on the other hand got so much quality when they attack that they also should score easily.

A bit longer post by me today but for me it might be the bet I’m most confident during this tournament and will back it heavily. Good luck to anybody who will follow.

    Small treble in-play

    Grasshoppers over 1.5 MG LOST!!!

Should have taken the singles, Minsk were 6/5 just to score a goal. Singles would of = profit in that one.

  167. Frank 10 years ago

Argentina v Belgium both needed extra time to dispose of their last opponents. They both seemed to adopt a very Mourinho -like tactic of trying to park the bus and hit their respective opponents on the counter, a tactic that almost backfired for both with Argentina getting a late goal to snatch their win. Belgium also left it relatively late against the USA who also threw their attacking fame plan away that was so effective during qualifying and also adopted a cautions approach.

My thinking for this match is quite simple.

I truly feel that both teams will revert to the game plans that got them here. This is an Argentina side that led CONMEBAL in goals scores during qualifying and I feel they will include Messi more than they did last game. They had 40 crosses which were all useless despite having Messi on the pitch. I think we see a more.direct, up the middle, Messi friendly match

I expect an early goal which will change the completion on of the entire match. Hopefully Lukaku gets his spot back as he showed great offensive wherewithal in extra time vs the Americans.

I think both matches today will be crackers.

As for Costa Rica, the jig is up. Quality will reign.

    Argentina v Belgium o2.25 1.98
    Holland v Costa Rica o2.25 1.94

  168. stubhoy 10 years ago

Nice wee double Robbo Elgin and Brighton both up 2-0 and added Brechin for nice wee treble and beer money for tonight. Cmon the Argies

  169. Steve The Pirate 10 years ago

Ahoy there mateys, here be Steve’s thoughts on todays games.

Costa Rica v Holland. Steve doesn’t see why everyone seems to think both teams will score. Sure Costa Rica fired 3 past Uruguay in the opening game, but they have only managed 2 goals in the 3 games since, and have not created many chances in the process. They’ve done well, but are not so much of an unknown quantity as they were in the beginning and I thinks the flying dutchmen will be well prepared and more than ready for them.

My main bet for this game be Holland to win to nil, now a best 13/10 (Betvictor). Also the majority of central/south american teams have looked extremely vulnerable at set pieces and while Costa Rica are not the worst, I feels this could be a real test for them. I expects the dutch will have a good number of opportunities and with Robbens delivery, their centre halves are worth a look. De Vrij and Vlaaarrrrrrr arrrrrrr both 15/1 anytime and 40/1 first (Betvictor)

Belgium V Arrrrrgentina be a very tough one to call. Belgium I feels still have another level they can reach, while the Arrrrrgies have just looked like they be full of the plague. I be inclined to think this one will start off cagey, so either ht 0-0 (7/4 paddypower) or 2nd half most goals (6/5 StanJames).

    …..

But hold steady men…Demichelis be starting- Goals Goals goals! Har har harrrrr!

  180. thechief 10 years ago

Time is running out for Farrell to score. My main bets will be on the Holland game later. In the Argentina game I am only having a scorer as I am on them to win the world cup and this could be a tight game.

Gonzalo Higuain hasn’t scored at this tournament yet so not putting him up as my tip, but just fancy him today. He scored 9 goals in qualifying in just 11 games and proved profitable to me during the season when I was on him. He is struggling at the moment but 5/2 Betvictor looks on the big side too me. Good luck with whatever your on.

    Tip 2
Argentina – Belgium half time result
    Draw @ 2.0

  184. BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

It was worth a punt chief, farrell is a awesome player, Charnley and Burgess are on fire today

  185. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I had a look at corners for Argentina vs Belgium.

Argentina has scored, 2,10,12 & 13 in the 4 games so far.

    Today over 5 @1.53
    over 6.5 @2.15
    over 7 @2.60
Difficult to know how the game will unfold today, but the over 6.5 seems realistic enough.

What do others who bet corners think?

In no way am I saying Messi is a better player then Maradona but here are a couple of current facts.
Messi has scored 40 goals from 90 appearances for Argentina
compared to Maradona’s 34 goals in 91 starts.

Now Maradona was a one man show in World cups compared to Messi, but Messi has years remaining and god knows how many he will score by the time he retires.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Profit from 1st July to present £22,565 approx (World Cup 80% of profit)

      Outstanding bets with stakes already deducted from profits;

Deontay Wilder to win World Heavyweight Championship by start of 2020; £34,500 at 2/5

Argentina to win World Cup; £2,000 at 9/2

Argentina to win World Cup; £1,000 each way at 4/1 (quarter 1-2)

Just looking at the results of the world cup and I’ve noticed all of the knockout games have ended under 3.5 goals I wonder what the odds would have been had you of put this bet on before the Brazil Chile game… I can’t see over 3.5 for the rest of the tournament so I’ll deffo be on that from now on

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

brdasbets, under 3.5 goals in any game is a short price.

    MLS

    Vancouver v Seattle

I have bet this one extremely early as I anticipate the price getting worse as game time approaches. This match will be played at 10 pm EST in North American on July 5th, so for my friends across the Atlantic, it will kick off at 3am on Sunday morning.

    My Pick:

    Vancouver v Seattle o2.5 MG 1.80 or you might want to fancy;

    Over 2.75 AH at 2.02 odds (51/50)

    Toronto FC v DC United

7pm EST (midnight in the UK)

DC United visit Toronto FC who will have American International Michael Bradley back in the lineup for this game to provide service to the red hot Jermaine Defoe.

DC has averaged 3.00 gpg on the road. (9 scored, 9 conceded in 6 away matches) . They have one away clean sheet and have failed to score only once. 3 if their last 4 road games have been crackers with a 3-2 loss at Portland, 2-1 loss at New England and a 4-2 win v Montreal. Their first game after the 2 week break was a 1-0 snoozer v Seattle but with their game legs back I expect them to continue their trend of higher scoring matches which was starting to develop before the break.

Toronto has played 6 home games, scored 8 conceded 5 for a 2.13 gpg average. Here’s the quirk in Toronto though (I live in Toronto by the way). Many of their home games are afternoon games where they play in the midday sun. This is a quasi-rare night home game for them and the evening temps are expected to be comfortable.

In all games, Toronto is 5-3 over 2.5 goals in their last 8. They have scored in all but one of their home games and have kept 3 home clean sheets including a 1-0 win in their home opener v today’s opponent.

The all time series is 7-6 over 2.5 MG. These two either play really boring low scoring affairs or extremely high scoring ones. There seems to be no middle ground. With so much player turnaround though it’s hard to rely on H2H records though. We saw Toronto win 4-1 in last season’s final game and then win 1-0 to open the season.

Toronto is 6-3 “over” 2.5 their last 9 at home v top 6 teams.

DC United is 1W 7L 2D their last 10 away v middle third of the table opposition. Unders have slight edge at 6 to 4 overs.

Sometimes we have to forego the stats though and go with motivation. Toronto has many games in hand on the league due to scheduling quirks. They are a win shy of going 1 point behind DC United for 3rd in the Eastern Conference and are not far from the top. Therefore they will want to win these games in hand to get max points. As a resukt I expect them to approach the game with offense on their mind which in turn will leave gaps and create chances for DC United.

While I am tempted to go for odds I feel more comfortable with the AH total of 2.25 at 1.90.

I also have over in the Seattle/Vancouver game with my write up on page one of this thread.

    Today’s MLS Plays:

    The plays:

Toronto FC v DC United over 2.25 1.90
    Toronto -.5 1.92
    Seattle v Vancouver over 2.75

LSK Kvinner vs Arnar Bjornar (13:00)
    over 1.5 fhg (o2.5fhg if you’re bold ;) )
    over 3.5 mg
    Ended 1-0

  241. bradsbets 10 years ago

Apart from Costa Rica and possibly Holland if you take the Spain performance no team has been that impressive in this world cup they have just done what they have to do and when they got in front just sat on the lead yes there was goals galore in the group stages but now all the make up the numbers teams have gone home the world cup feaver has sort of died down on the pitch and its like watching champions league style football.

    Argentina v Belguim KO 5pm

I’m with out man Fiddler on this game and will be going for over 2.5 goals! It’s another match in which should be close with South Americans involved theirs likely to be time wasting and faked injured! Espeially if they are leading!

Both teams have pace and that should bring us to at least three cards! Masscsrano is probably worth a card! Not great prices but two bets that should come in!

Back over 2.5 match cards 8/13 WIN :)
4 mins + second half additional time 4/7 WIN :)

    Should come in and did!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Greg, nice one. Hope the Holland game is better – Belgium have really gone out with a whimper there.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Mr F, I hadn’t seen your write up until after the game started, did you cover Belgium for much or is Argentina still profitable to win the tournament? Belgium were just out witted by Sabella, caught offside time and time again by the Argentinian defence moving out perfectly.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, Argentina were my main outright bet at the start but I’ve put nothing on Belgium to win the tournament. Did smaller bets on Brazil and Germany because they were the two I said would come through in that half. Just thought Belgium had a chance tonight but no team has been outstanding and that’s been a problem when looking at the last-eight ties. Argentina were better than they have been but still nowhere as good as I expected although as you say Sabella did a job on the Belgians. The only quarter-final tie I was confident about was Holland to beat Costa Rica and Argentina-Holland will also be tough to call if it happens.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Mr f , Brazil will miss Neymar for the rest of the wc as he has a broken bone in his back. Great news for myself and Raal of course!! :)

Big Mack! Big Mack!! Big Mack for fifa!!!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Best team I have seen are out, Colombia, and Argentina should fear nobody now in my opinion. I could hope for a miracle that Costa Rica knock Holland out but I will still happily stick with Argentina in the semi final against whoever gets through.

    O 3.5 mg 5/6

  252. fiddler 10 years ago

Now I missed the cards again by Greg all because there was no card in the first half all the same am glad some others backed it!!!!!never in doubt again lol

  255. Jonathan Grieve 10 years ago

Alright guys,I posted after the Belgium v USA game that I was waiting on Kevin De Bruyne 2 finish as Belgium’s top scorer for a double on Shaqiri – Switzerland’s top scorer @ 8/1 and De Bruyne @ 8/1 with Coral.

Raal had said that if De Bruyne finished joint top scorer I would b paid out at full odds but half my stake. I had only put a £1 on it but expected 2 get at least £30 back. They’v just paid out for £13.50.

I know its not a lot of money but can any1 tell me how they’v came 2 that figure?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jonathan Grieve, how many players has De Bruyne deadheated with? If it’s more than one then the payout will be less.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Mate he has tied for top scorer with mertins fellani origi vertoghan and lukaku

    —————

*LOST* Sorry for anyone that bet on these.

    • Frank 10 years ago

Have you examined the corners market for the second match mate?

    • MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I am about to Frank, If the game starts high tempo then a bet on 1st half might be worth a nibble on Costa Rica

  257. captain 10 years ago

Mr F what make you to predict Belgium to qualify?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

captain, read the preview – it’s all there. Toss of a coin really – I could have as easily gone with Argentina. Plenty of people backed Belgium, plenty were on Argentina and at the end of the day I’ve got to make a call. Argentina were my outright tip so in a way I’m happy I was wrong. Anyway, off out for a few hours and back for the Holland game.

  258. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

Can anyone advise me on this please?

I bet Honduras in multiple bets pre- world cup and won all but one bet.

On the Honduras top scorer page on Oddschecker they listed the odds for each Honduran player. I noticed BWIN was offering odds for Own Goal@ 21. To be top scorer. Honduras are rank so I decided to bet £15 . When during the France game, Benzema had a goal chalked off & given as an own goal for the goalkeeper, Noel Valladares.

    * Easy money * I thought, £15 @ 21 =£315

Carlo Costly scored later in the tournament, I was fine with that as it meant a dead heat between Costly & Own Goal.

The bet was settled as *LOST*

I called BWIN and spoke to a floor manager. He was most helpful & explained that he would have to pass it to the bookie that took the bet. He assumed it was an error & agreed that it should be a dead heat as the Own Goal was by a Honduran player.

BWIN later sent me an email stating that my bet was correctly settled as *LOST* as the own goal wasn’t the correct type of own goal !!!

    • Danny T 10 years ago

I think because that own goal was for the French not for Honduras had lloris scored the own goal then it would have been tied with costly for top scorer

    • MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I considered that Danny, But the bet was

‘World Cup 2014 World Cup 2014 – Individual Team Top Goalscorer’

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Yeah and that was costly that own goal would have counted for the French so benzema 4 own goal 1 would be there list Honduras didn’t get and own goal in the for column only against . If you see what I mean

    • MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

I understand what you mean, you explained that well, thanks.

I won a tidy sum during the World Cup first week. But that was my favourite bet & I was so proud of myself for even finding such a bet.

Do you think that is an industry wide opinion? The BWIN crowd said If I could provide a different interpretation from another bookie, that it would be happy revisit the bet.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

I would imagine so mate. Sorry to say it but in my opinion and i imagine the bookies opinion it would be a losing bet. Maybe someone else who has been reading along might be able to clarify

  259. Chrisemy 10 years ago

Wow on my 5fold now waiting on Defoe and Dwyer(Shaun’s anytime scorer)I just pray they involved in today’s matches then pray for the goals!!!!!fingers crossed

  260. Jonathan Grieve 10 years ago

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jonathan, that means one sixth the 4-1 odds on De Bruyne so looks right.

  261. Frank 10 years ago

    Netherlands v Costa Rica

These two have never met before but Holland are W10-D1-L0 in their most  recent games vs CONCACAF teams.

Both clubs are missing key defensive Players. NED missing De Jong with injury and Costa Rica centre-half Oscar Duarte serves a suspension

Netherlands are 19-8 over 2.5 goals  in their last 27 competitive matches and have scored at least twice in 14 straight since Euro 2012.

Costa Rica have scored in 8/9 World Cup games vs teams from Europe & NED haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their L11 WC knockout games.

    My Plays

Over 2.25 goals AH at odds of 1.93
    NED -1 evens

Reluctant to go BTTS because I feel that NED should destroy CR here. I think CR has been figured out and trying to sit back against NED can prove costly. Yes, they will/should go for for it but this will only create some excellent opportunities for Holland to kill them on the counter. If NED plays to their potential I see a 3-0 game in the offing.

Best of luck with your plays today.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Wednesday ay it, Im glad you are here and showing an interest in Big Macks campaign for Fifa Presidency.
First of all you have to ask yourself do you really want change in football?
Do you want a man who is easy on the eye and very approachable in Public?
Do you want to see females actually earn a salary while pretending to be footballers?
And most importantly, do you want transparency on Fifa presidents salary which is always kept private.

Knowing you have answered yes to all the above, you should accept the inevitable and back Big Mac for Fifa.

Wednesday ay it, when people go to a game they dont to a female football match as its telegraphed. They go to a real game played with proper physical intent and aggression.

Wednesday, its quite easy to vote, just repeat after me:

The views on here point to a few goals, with Costa Rica nicking a goal but Holland winning. So 2-1 for Holland it is.

    Holland 2-1 9/1 Betvic
    Robben 2-1 35/1 Betvic

:( Disappointing. Cheers for clearing that up anyway Mr.F

  278. thechief 10 years ago

    Holland v Costa Rica

Since the group stages the goals have since dried up in this tournament, so I maybe going against the grain by taking O2.5 match goals. I know Costa Rica last 3 games have gone Under 2.5g but I’m taking a chance on the overs. Holland have scored 12 goals in this tournament and only kept one clean sheet, Whilst Costa Rica have only failed to score against England. Both teams to score looks on, but I’m going O2.5g at 23/20 Betvictor.

In the goal scorer market, Holland have had seven different scorers, so any of the attacking players look to be good value. In the end it came down Van Persie and Robben, both could find the net, but in the end I have gone for Robben. He is 13/8 Betvictor.

For Costa Rica if they are to score, I will be on Bryan Ruiz again. I put him up against Greece and he delivered and if they do score there is every chance it will be down to their captain. He scored 5 in 14 on loan at PSV and 6/1 Betvictor looks worth a small punt. The Overs and Robben are my main bets though.

    OVER 2.5 MATCH GOALS 23/20
    ROBBEN TO SCORE 13/8
    RUIZ TO SCORE 6/1

Good luck if your having a bet

  279. stubhoy 10 years ago

    Corners, Netherlands vs Costa Rica

Costa Rica, has won 6,5,3 and 3 corners in its four games, conceding 5,4,7, and 11

Average won = 4.5 per game conceded =6.8
The 11 against Greece may include extra time.

Netherlands has won 1,2,2 and 10 , that stat puts me off betting on total game overs.
So I am concentrating on Los Ticos

    BWIN over 2.5 1st half corners @2.65
    BWIN over 2.5 2nd half corners @2.35
Over 4.5 Costa Rica game corners @2.5 betfair

    More attractive & speculative is;

If Netherlands sit back soak up the Costa Rican pressure, I think that,

Costa Rica race to 3 corners @ 3.2
    . race to 5 corners @ 4.8
    both look tempting (Ladbrokes)

Good luck to everyone & I hope we at least have an exciting game.

  286. Rory 10 years ago

    TANNERS TEMPTER TODAY

Defoe to score anytime for Toronto 5/4 (single)

Chivas USA v Montreal BTTS 8/11 (single)

    Double 2.88/1

    3 bets all in all.

Defoe has scored 5 goals in his last 4 home league games and has 8 goals in 10 so far this season. We all know about Defoe! :)

Both H2H games between these 2 teams have finished BTTS.

Chivas last 5 at home have seen BTTS in 2 and in Montreals last 5 away it has appeared 3 times.

Both coming into this game on the back of good wins so should be full of confidence and both teams contain 2 great in form MLS forwards- Torres and McInerney.

Montreal have conceded in 6/7 away league games this season and 16/18 last season so can have a leaky defence at times! Chivas have conceded 11 goals in their last 5 home league games so can be leaky also.

Another alternative might be to stick the overs in instead but I will stick with the BTTS.

  300. craigyboy 10 years ago

Holland have scored at least two goals in all of the second halfs of their World Cup games so far.
Backed it before the game and now re-backing with a smaller stake at 9/4 Bet 365.
If they get one they can get 2.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

craigboy, Holland have the better of the first and I’m taking a chance on them at 4-5 with Hills and Paddy Power. Here we go.

  306. JoeX 10 years ago

Absolute gash this Holland game. The vast sums of money they earn per week as some of the worlds best players. Belgium, Argentina, Spain to name a few do not justify the over inflated salaries.

The cream of world football, apparently. Quite a few 90 minutes I’ll never get back.

Will be waiting in play for this one to get a better price- 10-15 minutes maybe.

Drew 2-2 Only 2 weeks ago.

Both sides score home and away respectively. Golf Coast have scored over 2.5 tg in 3/4 of their last away games. Charlotte have scored at home in their 3 home league games so far this season.

  312. Lostboy 10 years ago

Well Raal….I must say, I’m a bit more confident of Argentina making final now, after seeing this game tonight. Fingers crossed.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Lostboy, Holland have been garbage and worth remembering they are only playing because Robben cheated Mexico. Another expensive lesson for some who continually opposed South American sides against European sides.

  313. Capone 10 years ago

    Costa Rica on penos maybe??

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Capone, if it goes to pens you have to favour Costa Rica. They scored all five against Greece and have a keeper who looks unbeatable.

Holland 1/2 to beat a South American side? madness to get involved. Expected a goal or two but will settle for knowing Argentina are virtually in the final.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, Holland won’t be 1-2 against Argentina but should have had this in the bag several times over.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

That was the price before kick off Mr F.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

      To beat Costa Rica.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, thought you meant if they face Argentina. Costa Rica aren’t South Americans remember – but not far away.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Qualified with Honduras and Mexico so South American is near enough, still better suited to temperature and humidity than European sides.

    ** LOST **

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Capone, same here. Good call by van Gaal and must have seen something with Krul he liked. Amazing that his first touch of the World Cup was a shootout save in the last eight.

  338. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

Costa Rica, you made your country proud.

  339. bradsbets 10 years ago

Krul saves again and Holland wins pice of managerial magic from van Baal but commiserations to Costa Rica who surely had a tournament of a life time

  340. 1plus2 10 years ago

I did a lucky 15 on the 4 games to go to pens or extra time thinking it would be at least a double at good prices but only Holland gets to pens and win so it’s 50p profit from the Lucky 15 lol

    • 1plus2 10 years ago

Cancel that last comment was £9 profit forgot about the specials where they double if you get only 1 result correct :-)

  341. Chip 10 years ago

Not gonna lie, that was not a good game for me. Stupidly took Costa Rica on pens even though I knew Krul was coming on and I didn’t win a single bet. :(

    • craigyboy 10 years ago

I know that feeling Chip. Bad day all round for me. Tomorrow is a day of rest from betting. I’m going to enjoy the British Grand Prix.
Monday I’ll sit down and assess the two semi finals but for me there isn’t too much assessing to do. I think its a nailed on Germany v Argentina final.

    • Chip 10 years ago

Brilliant shout craigyboy and I hope you’re right because I’ve got Argentina to win the World Cup and them to reach the final too. If I could take a day off from betting I would but no doubt I’ll find a friendly that looks great or be tempted by Shaun, Greg or Tonyboy’s tips haha!

    • craigyboy 10 years ago

I’ve backed Germany but Argentina do have the look of a team that are about to win the World Cup. Its going to be a tight final if that’s the match. The big decision for me with Joachim Loew is whether he plays Lahm in midfield. I feel if he does then Germany could be exposed down the flanks and maybe the difference between winning the tournament and falling short.

  342. Rick 10 years ago

Two massive games tues n wed, hoping for argie german final
