TWO good days were followed by a bad one on Tuesday – but that's the way it goes in football betting.
Results didn't seem too bad and Greg Browning proved there was profit to be made as his nap and NB won. And while he didn't mention it there was not one but two late goals at St James's Park as Newcastle and Man United fought out a 3-3 thriller.
My Super Single was a loser as Aston Villa somehow won a game and Derby let me down on the double and in hindsight I'd have taken Huddersfield with Charlton a side who must be backed against these days.
There were only two Scottish games and I called them wrongly – believing both would score at Ross County while Alloa's win at Raith in the Championship was a surprise.
I thought my btts treble was going to land but Lorient, who have been prolific scorers away from home, let me down. My long shots weren't too far away and at one stage I was looking at a Walsall goal for four draws. That did come but others let me down. I'd have cashed out by Ladbrokes offered me a measly fiver.
And I could have done with a return to bring some order to the accumulators – but one decent win will sort that out.
I fared better on the forum with three out of three teams to score tips and a winner on my £10 to £100 challenge and that's up to £31.50 with Greg on £16.15 in our latest attempt.
Tonight the focus is on seven Premier League matches and I've posted a separate preview. I'm tempted by Sunderland at Swansea and Watford at Southampton but keeping the draw on side is probably the best advice.
I'm going to be brave and attempt to wipe out the Super Single losses in one foul swoop. I like Man City at home to Everton and Chelsea at home to West Brom and the double pays 11-10.
But Greg's always banging on to me to do more goals bets so lets go both to score 2+ at 7-5 with boylesports.
City have done so in two of their last three home wins against the Goodison men but this season Roberto Martinez's side have been guilty of leaking goals although not so much on the road. City have slammed 29 in front of their own fans and have Sergio Aguero back and scoring.
Chelsea look their old selves under Guus Hiddink and have netted at least two in four of their last five at home to the Baggies including a 6-0 thumping. West Brom have conceded two in three of their last six games.
I also like Spurs to score 2+ against Leicester and Hull should take care of Cardiff in the Championship. We all know about Spurs-Leicester stats and while Greg has again gone with over 2.5 match goals I'm on both to score.
Add Copa del Rey second-leg matches between Las Palmas and Eibar and Villarreal v Athletic Bilbao. Las Palmas lead 3-2 and five of their last six have seen both scoring. Eibar have hit 12 in their last four and will have to go on the attack here.
It was also 3-2 in the other game's first leg with Villarreal the side on the back foot. They're in great form though with six wins on the bounce and if they go full strength can turn it around. It was 3-1 when the sides met at El Madrigal in the league and a similar result is possible.
There are other ties to look at but team news is so important. For example Marseille, unbeaten in eight away games, look big at 2-1 at Toulouse in the French Cup.
PSG are about 1-3 and should see off Lyon with over 2.5 match goals highly likely and in Spain Barcelona are likely to rest players as they cross the city to Espanyol with a 4-1 lead.
