I'VE been studying the weekend card for a few days and when it comes to WDW bets there wasn't much that stood out.
It's a normal day in England but in Scotland the card is dominated by the last 16 of the William Hill Scottish Cup.
The stand-out ties are Rangers v Kilmarnock and Hearts v Hibs while the romance of the Cup comes in the shape of Ross County v junior outfit Linlithgow Rose and Lowland League outfit East Kilbride against Celtic at Airdrie.
Having clocked what looked like generous handicap prices I posted a 5pt Super Single on Wednesday night – County -1 and Celtic -3 at 2-1 with Paddy Power. Both Premiership sides should be looking to score at least four or five against proud but limited non-league opponents.
Rangers might be up against a side from a higher league but they are no bigger than 1-2 to take Kilmarnock's scalp and while I believe they'll win it's incredibly short.
Aberdeen head to St Johnstone after closing the gap on Celtic to three points in midweek. They are 11-10 to draw level with the champions at the top of the table.
Big game in the Premier League is Man City v Leicester with the Foxes out to show if they are genuine challengers or will they have to settle for just a Champions League place.
So here is my shortlist compiled from looking at form and stats but team news won't be checked until Friday evening. All picks are at least evens and if there's anything that shouldn't be considered let me know.
Super Single shortlist
Leicester not to lose at Man City
SPURS -1 v WATFORD
BURNLEY v Hull
Oldham v BLACKPOOL
SOUTHEND v Colchester
St Johnstone v ABERDEEN
Hemmings (Dundee) to score
ROSS COUNTY -3 v Linlithgow
East Kilbride v CELTIC -4 (Sunday)
Hearts v Hibs red card in match (Sunday)
ARBROATH v Stirling
Queen's Park v ELGIN
Cool to go with… Thanks Mr. Fixt
Any thoughts on Arsenal away to Bournmouth Mr F or greg?? They need to win and in my opinion are a good price at 11/10. Suprised they’ve not made your shortlist.
overtwo, one reason they’re not on the shortlist is the game is not tomorrow but Sunday.
Apart from Scottish games I tend to look at everything else on a daily basis.
St Johnstone v ABERDEEN
The sheep are bankers
Very tough card this weekend.
Seen you had celtic and ross county so thought Sunday was included.
overtwo, as I said only the Scottish ones because I don’t have a Sunday column so cover the Scottish ones in Saturday’s Record.
Swansea look great at home to Palace 6/5
The new manager honeymoon is in full effect there
For value you have to say Cardiff and Bolton to both score over 1.5 TG.
11/10 for Cardiff against a woeful MK Dons teams
or
13/10 for Bolton against a leaky Rotherham back four.
Both these sides played well down the Molineux in recent weeks and both these side have been hitting two or more goals for a couple of weeks.
The double pays a very nice 3.79/1.
Not an easy card tomorrow – no blindingly obvious ones.
Personally I think Sunderland double chance @ 9/5 is a great price….
I know Mr f has included Blackpool in his shortlist but I think they are serious value to beat an Oldham team who have only managed to take 1pt from their last 6 home games.
Another I just can’t work out is
Charlton v Bristol city
The bookies have Bristol as favs for this game and why I just do not know.
If you take away that victory over boro (freak result) they have scored 1 and conceded 14 in their last 6 games. I know Charlton are not in great shape either but they managed a potential confidence boosting win during the week and look value at 11/5
Has anyone got any good/bad views on two games I got a feeling reflecting recent performances and gut..
Burnley vs HULL
Hull are flying lately and I find it hard to call as Burnley are at home and have also been hard to crack but I feel as if Hull can edge this if they score early one.
Sheffield Utd vs WIGAN
Another gut feeling which I am still doubting at times is that Wigan have had a good solid weeks of pulling out wins which are usually full of goals and a few draws here and there. I know they drew 3-3 last meeting but I have a feeling this time round Wigan can do the same if they get goals in early.
Hull to win – 13/5
Wigan to win – 15/8
Let me know what you guys think and if you have any info.
GL with your bets!
That could be a great spot dc. Its a no bet game for me. Im on a treble of
Gillingham
Southend
Northampton and over 2.5 MG
Pays around 8/1
Hadn’t looked at goals rookie but might throw a fiver on that treble for an interest
BOL
Just the northampton game for over 2.5 for those odds.gillingham could well have over 2.5 goals too.
Ive stuck £1.25 trixie on the following less obvious teams to win and BTTS
Leicester
Aston Villa
Newcastle
Around 260/1 for the acca
First one in!
Personally i think that that looks a good Draw double if anything!
Yeah it’s either a draw double but football has surprised me beyond belief this season so far!
I didn’t post as a bet more advise seeking lol I might stick a long shot on and see what happens!
Got a nice bit of betting money for the weekend after having a mooch on here earlier…
I know MrF and others warned me about my 8 teams and I have changed my direction of play, but I was greedy once again used my last £2 on my Skybet to try get some weekend playing money so I put £2 on and after a long awaited second goal from Benfics I got a return of £57.48 this was my 8:
Valletta WIN – 1/3 *win*
Nimes WIN – 6/4 *win*
Volendam WIN -8/13*win*
NAC Breda WIN – 1/1 *win*
FC Eindhoven vs Jong Ajax BTTS – 4/9 *win*
Borussia Monch vs Werder Bremen OVER 1.5 GOALS – 1/8 *win*
Dundalk WIN – 1/4 *win*
Beleneses vs Benfica OVER 1.5 GOALS – 2/9 *win*

@mrfixit Hello from the Big Smoke fella.
Will be at White Hart Lane cheering on the Spurs tomorrow and ive just spotted a little gem during my research.
What you think of WATFORD Over 3.5 TTC @ 10/11
Think this has a great chance mate.
stubhoy, would need to look at corner stats before commenting.
Spurs are on my treble so let’s hope they do business.
Tips are up – goodnight all.
