IT'S Judgment Night in the Betway Premier League darts with two players being relegated. Simon Whitlock has gone and the other player to fall bythe wayside will be Wes Newton, Dave Chisnall or Robert Thornton.
Thornton will survive by beating Phil Taylor in his last match but still could survive with a defeat or draw depends on how Newton-Chisnall turns out so his match would be better left alone until we see what he needs in Cardiff.
First up it's Gary Anderson v Peter Wright and I fancy Ando in the battle of the Scots. Leader Michael van Gerwen is just 1-4 to beat Whitlock and should do so.
Adrian Lewis v Raymond van Barneveld should be close while Newton-Chisnall may turn out to be the draw that leaves Thornton in a sweat.
Anyway there are bigger darts fans than me so put up your tips and thoughts here.
Elsewhere there is a 20Twenty cricket semi-final between Sri Lanka and West Indies at 2pm on Sky Sports 2 and baseball action featuring NY Mets v Washington on ESPN at 6.10pm.
And even later the basketball crew will hit the site with Oklahoma at San Antonio live on BT Sport 1 at 1am.
At 9pm ESPN are showing Cincinatti v St Louis and there is basketball at midnight on BT Sport 1 with San Antonio at Indiana.
Put up all your sports tips and chat here.
T20 SEMI FINAL CRICKET
WEST INDIES V SRI LANKA
Today is the first semi final of the T20 World Cup, and I think West Indies will be too good for Sri Lanka. The Windies have a formidable batting lineup that boast big power hitters such as Gayle, Smith, Bravo and Sammy. Sri Lanka lack this in their starting lineup and so this may be their downfall.
Also the match is being played on a pitch in that West Indies have played on in their previous matches, whereas Sri Lanka are yet to play on this pitch in Mirpur, Bangladesh in thus World Cup.
(Match result)
West Indies to win 11/10
(Top batsman double)
West Indies top batsmen – Dwayne Smith 7/2
Sri Lanka top batsmen – Mahela Jayawardene 7/2
Double pays a nice 20/1
Stuey, top stuff last night! Took your treble as it was but also took it with trimmed points spread! All in all 2 nice winners thank you :)
I’ve been Lucky with draws the past few weeks but I think they might be few and far between tonight. I’ll have a better look and post later
I’ll have a good look at the darts matches now and put up my thoughts very shortly
sri lanka and india to win both semi s
I feel the west indies are on a bit of a roll
have good batters and 3 really good bowlers who wont get tonked
not so sure about some of the sri lankans
I’ve gone for the windies against Australia & Pakistan and I wont be deserting them today
lockuptipster…good write up on that link mate cheers.
lockuptipster, post them here if you want but don’t put up the link please.
Stand up I you love the darts!!!
The last few weeks I have stuck on a lucky 15 on 4 match draws and it’s been very generous as it’s returned 3 out of the 4 most weeks. I have done so tonight but left out MVG who will easily beat Whitlock. Hopefully tonight rings the full house!
Hopefully the chief will be around later to give his input! I got lucky with 2 draws last week at 26/1! Am hoping for the same this week! Will do a little research and hopefully post something that takes my fancy!
Afternoon Guys, Premier League darts
It is “Judgement night” in Cardiff for Chisnall, Newton and Thornton. Chisnall is playing Newton and if they draw it means that Thornton will need to get at least a draw out of Taylor to survive.
If Newton loses then he cannot survive as his leg difference of -13 cannot beat Thornton even if Taylor beats him 7-0. If Newton beat Chisnall then it will be down to how many legs Chisnall gets and the result of the Taylor v Thornton game. Clear?
Anderson v Wright
The battle of Scotland, and Anderson leads their H2H 11-9 although it is the last 12 months that interest me as Wright is a totally different player now. In the past year Wright as won 8 of the last 9. I would lean towards Wright edging it but it is a tough one. Instead I will be on both players to win 5 legs at 6/5 with sponsors Betway and O5.5 match 180s at 5/4 Coral.
BOTH PLAYERS TO WIN 5 LEGS 6/5
OVER 5.5 MATCH 180s 5/4
Lewis v Barneveld
The match of the night for me, RVB hammered Aidy in the premier league last year doing the double over him, However Lewis is playing well at the moment. He destroyed RVB 9-2 last month when claiming the first major of the season the UK Open. I fancy Lewis will win a close match, he will be throwing first and if he can break Barney’s throw early I think he will go on and win. He is 5/4 Skybet.
LEWIS TO WIN 5/4
Newton v Chisnall
The pressure is both players as I explained earlier. Newton has won four of their last six against Chizzy but they were on the floor tournaments. For me this comes down to Chisnall doubles, he will outscore Newton so will be first at the double on numerous occasions. Newton hasn’t been a slouch on the 180s but his general scoring as been a big let down. I favour Chisnall to win but the pressure of the situation and his frailties on his doubles forces me to leave him alone.
One market I do like in this is the 180s market. Chisnall in full flow is prolific maximum hitter and leads the premier league with 40. His line is set at 4.5 and I think he can cover that. It is 6/4 Bet365. He is 4/6 at Skybet to hit more maximums than Newton and consider Newton has only hit 25 that looks good bet to me (be ware a draw market is available for this market) I will also take Chisnall on the handicap market. It is 5/4 Skybet Chisnall -1
CHISNALL O4.5 MATCH 180s 6/4
CHISNALL TO HIT THE MOST 180s 4/6
CHISNALL -1 TO HIT MOST 180S 5/4
Having already backed MVG to win the premier league, I wont be backing him weekly unless something standouts. I think he will beat Whitlock at short odds and Taylor should beat Thornton whatever happens earlier in the night. Double these two pays just over 10/11 with the sponsors Betway.
MVG & TAYLOR BOTH TO WIN TONIGHT 10/11
Good luck if your having a bet
Chief, thanks a lot for the write up. I have an option to bet mvg/lewis/taylor all to win for 4.3. Would you recommend that?
Przemm, I like all three, Lewis would be the one I would be wary off as I think it will be close, and his H2H record isn’t great. I’m on Lewis as a single to edge it. Pity he plays after MVG game as you would still have the option of doing the double. Good luck mate
Here we go.
Got a 100% record with my Darts tips so need to tread carefully to keep that in tact.
Despite my earlier comment I reckon draws could be the way forward again.
Going for a double
Anderson v Wright
Lewis v Barney
Will probably do a small stake Canadian again and hope a 3rd draw comes in.
Good Luck all
Peter Wright will beat Ando tonight at great odds too, was expecting him to be odds on, Barney to beat Lewis too add in Seville to score 2+ for a tasty 16/1+ treble @Bet365
My post get deleted Paul??
craig, didn’t delete anything.
Like the look of those Chief son, I will be on em
Will be as well Chief, thank you mate.
PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS:
After spending a good hour looking through tonights games i’ve come up with a few tips and reasons why:
Super Single: Chisnall -1 180 Handicap v Newton 5/4
The winner of this match will stay up and the loser will go down so i think this is going to be a very nervy game. Both players can still avoid relegation with a draw and then hope that a revitalised Phil Taylor can beat Robert Thornton in the last match of the night.I was very tempted with going with the draw in this game at odds of 7/2 but instead i’ve gone for a more safer bet with Chizzy on the 180 handicap.Chisnall is a prolific 180 hitter and i put him right up there with Adrian Lewis as the 2 top 180 hitters on the circuit.Wes Newton is not a big 180 hitter so the odds of 5/4 Chisnall -1 180 handicap look fantastic.
NB:Lewis most 180’s v Van Barneveld 5/6
As mentioned in the above Super Single,Adrian Lewis is a prolific 180 hitter and makes it look so easy.In my eyes and many others ‘Jackpot’ is the most naturat thrower on the PDC circuit.Once his 1st dart lands in the roof of the T20 bed you just know the next 2 will follow.I looked at the match betting for this and originally went with a Lewis win at odds of also 5/6 but after RVB’s creditable performance last week v Taylor where he was very unlucky to come away with only a draw, missed doubles cost him,i’ve once again played a more safer bet and gone with Lewis to hit most 180’s at the same price as he is to win the game 5/6
Other: MVG to beat Simon Whitlock 8/13
I had a look at some other games and although i do like the look of an Anderson win v Wright i didn’t like the odds of 8/15 so Van Gerwen to beat an already relegated Simon Whitlock looked too good at 8/13.’The beard to be feared’ hasn’t quite hit the hights of previous seasons and although you may think he’ll be playing with nothing to lose having already been relegated, lets not forget he’ll be up against the world champion, world number 1 and MVG will want to the win which will give him top spot regardless of the outcome in the Anderson v Wright game.I thought this would be more like 1/3 so the odds of 8/13 on a Van Gerwen win once again looks very good indeed.
Good luck all,i hope this helps
Thanks for the tips Thechief, do u see any other over 180s?
Gonna try a treble with those :)
Great start chief son was on ur two tips and had fiver on Wright to win 7-5 as you fancied him to nick it. Love the darts son!
Could anyone watching the first game (Anderson Wright) say the highest checkout and the number of 180s in it? cheers
5-4 Anderson 180’s and Anderson highest CO 81 Wright 71 Joe.
Don’t know whats happened then Paul, must’ve dissappear after I posted it :) or just never hit publish button on phone
craig, I don’t even know what comment you mean.
Basically the post from 3 hrs ago minus the question below it, doesn’t matter now Lewis v Barney ends a draw :(
Wtf Lewis son you needed tops for the match not double 1 jeez burt is not pleased pleased with you Lewis. pound that lipstick Chisnall pound it like a good un son
Going for the Chisnell over 4.5 (180s field)
13/8 Betfair
Get in Chisnall son, most 180s and -1 handicap thanks chief son when u said u fancied chisnall to edge it went 7-5 at 5/1. Burt is pleased wiv u chief
Just been robbed by northampton saints. Only need 3pts in second half ( this being a team who scored 28points in the first half) and they draw a blank – when your luck is out its painful
It’s been a while since I put up a tip on the site, but I think I’m on to a good thing here.
davis cup- 4/4/14 12:30
Murray d Seppi 3-0 @ 1/1 with bet365
Murray has worked his way slowly back to form this season after surgery, but he is now showing signs of getting back to his best. He is 17-7 this season, which includes 2-0 on clay, the surface this match will be played on.
Seppi is having a terrible year. He is 4-11, which includes 0-1 on clay. This is a nightmare matchup for the Italian, and home advantage isn’t likely to help him here. Simply put, he plays exactly the same game as Murray, but does everything worse. His last match was against a similar, yet inferior, style of player to murray, David ferrer, which he lost very easily 6-3, 6-2.
Murray has won the last 5 meetings comfortably in straight sets. This includes the last time they met on clay which he won 6-4, 6-2 in 2010 and their most recent meeting which he also won 6-4-6-2 on hardcourt last year.
Evens looks great value
Amy tips on basketball tonight
Any tips appreciated on the nba
Ad, it’s 7/5 on Paddy Power for that.
Good night on the darts and it was almost perfect, Lewis hitting the wrong double was a disappointment. Backing the 9 darter and 170 checkout especially paid out, I would be shocked if there wasn’t a 9 darter in the league. Winners tonight at 6/5 5/4 4/6 5/4 10/3 :)
Soggy- cheers for that info. 7-5 is a cracking price. Down to 6-5 now by the looks of things.
That’l teach me for not shopping around! I haven’t really got the bankroll to have several accounts going at the moment so generally sticking to bet365.

I know most Brits don’t know much about cycling. I can tell you, there is more than the Tour de France.
This Sunday there is one of the biggest one day classics of the year, the Tour of Flanders. 200 riders will start the race of 259 km.
There are 2 big favorites: Fabian Cancellara @2.62 and Peter Sagan @4.00 with William Hill
There was a sort of similar race last Friday, the E3 Harelbeke and this was won by Peter Sagan. Due to material problems Cancellara lost a couple of minutes on the group of 4 who sprinted for the win. But in the chase Cancellara was impressive, overtaking loads of groups of riders on his own and eventually finished at 1:19 after the winner.
I will be backing both riders for this race and can’t see another rider win this race when these two stay on their bikes.
Cancellara can end up in the history books as one of the few winning this race 3 times (won in 2010 and 2013).
On Saturday I will post some big priced outsiders which I will be on as well.
My first post in this thread. It’s not my own preview bts:
“Competition: MLB
Game: LA Dodgers
Time: 04/04 22:10 (CET+1)
pick: Dodgers at the end of five innings(1X2)
odd: 1.94
Bookie: Marathon
We again trust on Ryu.The Japanese, has been pitching impressively. In his first 12 innings he has allowed no runs. The left-hander went 2-2 with a 2.48 ERA in five starts against the Giants as a rookie last season.I hope that today he he again stop the Giants offensive.
By Giants will open Ryan Vogelsong.Vogelsong has been really bad in the preseason,22 allowed runs in 19 innings.Already last year was pitching fatal, allowing too many times players in scoring position.Against Dodgers,Ryan has allowed 10 runs in 10 innings.I expect that Ryan will give some runs and Ryu will control Giants.
GL!”
