I WASN'T quite singing “Hearts, Hearts Glorious Hearts” but I came close.
My Hibs v Hearts preview was all about backing the Jambos at prices I thought the bookies had got wrong.
All week I'd been pushing the Jambos and my faith was rewarded – unfortunately Liverpool let me down big style.
I should have known Jose Mourinho would get it right and even with a tilt at the Champions League Final to come he put out a stronger side than he predicted. Luckily, plenty of people didn't fall for Jose's threat to field the kids and once the line-ups were revealed it was clear it would be a tougher day than anticipated for Liverpool.
My second Top Treble came up – if you missed the early PSG kick-off – thanks to an incredible fightback by Barcelona to win 3-2 at Villarreal from 2-0 down added to wins by Lyon and Lille.
So the Premier League title race is going to the wire and it's tight in the battle for fourth spot with Arsenal in the driving seat after Everton's defeat at Southampton. Two wins from their last three games will clinch fourth spot for the Gunners and they should get the first of those tonight.
Everton ran out of steam at Southampton on Saturday and their defeat has handed Arsene Wenger's men a massive boost.
Arsenal entertain Newcastle tonight and are just 3-10 at Betfred and others to notch the points.
Newcastle are on a terrible run with five defeats in a row and just one goal in those matches. Alan Pardew's men are in a mess and anything but a heavy defeat at the Emirates would be a massive shock.
If Arsenal are too short then consider them at 3-4 with Ladbrokes minus one or even 21-20 at Ladbrokes in the race to three goals Newcastle have conceded 14 goals in five games.
Last season Arsenal won this fixture 7-3 and backing over 3.5 goals at 13-10 with Ladbrokes is worth a look. For first scorer take a look on-form Lukas Podolski to hit the opener at 11-2 with McBookie.
Another possibility is Wales star Aaron Ramsey whose return to the side after injury has resulted in an upturn in form. He is 15-8 at Betfred to score.
In Italy, Juventus are as close to the title as Arsenal are to fourth place. Victory at lowly Sassuolo would see them within touch distance but don't expect them to bust a gut with a Europa League semi-final with Benfica just three days away.
Juve are five points clear of Roma with a game in hand so can afford a slip and Sassuolo are unbeaten in three as they try to beat the drop.
It was 4-0 to the champions in Turin and I expect them to notch the points but they are no bigger than 4-9 with McBookie. They have won their last three league matches to nil and a repeat of that pays 7-5 at Paddy Power.
Juve to win to nil or Arsenal -1 could be the Super Single (and even -1 must be a shout) and I'm taking Juve and Arsenal as the Daily Double.
I was working last night and heading off to golf this morning so no chance to put up other tips. There are plenty of lower-league games to consider but they take time to research so best bet is to follow some of the comments that will appear here during the day.
The only other game I looked at was Celta Vigo v Valladolid in La Liga and while it looks like it should be a home win the visitors need a result in their bid to beat the drop and that worries me slightly. On the other hand Valladolid haven't won away since October and Vigo have been decent in front of their own fans all season.

So I’ve decided to take my betting more seriously this week. From today I will be posting in a treble (or double, depending on the card) which will be my main bets for the day. Thanks Kev. I did take what you said on board as I could see where you were coming from and hopefully this is a step forward for me. I do tend to get carried away with my bets but at least now I and everyone else can define which are my serious bets and which are my ones out of interest. Like I said in the previous post it also gives me a chance to focus on certain things which can only be a good thing. John- your spot on with the greed filter! :D I had a look at Schalke just before kick-off and saw Huntelaar wasn’t playing (alarm bells ringing) so instead I got on them at half time (1-0 down.) My thinking was that Schalke have a great recent home record and they will bring Huntelaar which will give them a lift etc… They never turned up in the second half and Huntelaar didn’t come on until the 72nd minute! Talking to the office Newcastle fans, they are fully anticipating a trouncing tonight. They reckon they will concede 3 or 4 goals. Remy is back for Toon and he seems to be the only player capable of scoring for them atm. Pardew also returns to the dug out but I don’t think that will inspire any improvement in form.

They have scored plenty of goals on the road this season, scoring 15 in their last 6 including 3-0, 4-0 and 5-1 wins in their last 4 away games. They’ve scored 2 or more in 4 of their last 5 and with today being a must win for them, expect goals. Esbjerg are no pushovers, yet they currently sit in 6th place with very little play for. They’re probably slightly too far back for a push at 4th place and European qualification, but a win today would keep their hopes alive. They’re normally reasonably tight at the back but have drawn 2-2 in their last 2 games. They have only conceded 2 or more in 5 home games this season, but I fancy Midtyylland to come at them today and force a result and I don’t think Esbjerg are going to put up a massive fight. Midtyyland won the last meeting 3-0 and have a generally good record here, being unbeaten in five. I’d recommend the win for anyone as a single itself but for me it’s over 1.5 team goals at 11/8.

Hi guys, I’m waiting on Arsenal, Juve and Wigan to complete a ballsy acca that’s been running over the weekend – I’m due nearly £1,400 if they can all come through which would be my biggest win of the season by some way. I don’t usually do acca’s that stretch over days, and therefore don’t often find myself in a hedge/cover situation.
Just wondering if you’s would let the two favourites do their thing tonight and then obviously hedge only for Wigan not winning – or would you begin to cover for tonight’s games? Maybe covering for draws in both games?
I know I’m in a pretty good position for a cover, as Juve and Arsenal are big fav’s and I feel the price will only get longer for Birmingham/Draw tomorrow night as punters get on Wigan.
Any advice and your thoughts much appreciated.

Trouble is Capone, Pardew can only field 11 players on a pitch to stop Arsenal. They’d struggle with all 6 subs on pitch too if you ask me.
Marky Mark, I’d say you’re fairly safe with Arsenal, Juve I’m not so sure about. You could do Newcastle double chance and Sassulo double chance as singles just to be sure.
Marky Mark, I’ve tipped Arsenal and Juve so my advice would be to see how they play out. It’s not easy to cover just now cheaply.

Rusty, he scored last weekend against Hull and in my eyes was the best player for Arsenal. They seem to work so well with him in the team, and he’s really added getting into the box as one of his traits. It’s definitely worth a shout considering the form he was in before he was injured. It’s quite possible he would have made team of the year if he hadn’t been.

SOLA are a team in Norway’s Div3 flagged up during my research into the NM Cupen last week. Andrew Robertson has had one hell of a year going from Queens Park to international recognition is quite an achievement. The SPFA awards should be about highlighting good prospects and he is certainly one. Stevie May should not feel unlucky at not winning this one becuase he should have been in the running for the main one.
Frank McKeown. Amazing. Bow to that man. At the time I remember thinking about what he done and couldn’t get over the sheer physical stamina it must have taken not to mention the psychological side. Delighted he has been recognised for his effort.

If we did the same type of bet the number of posts thanking us wouldn’t seem as many!! There are also plenty markets we will not touch with a barge pole simply from bitter experience. We talk frequently and are fully aware of each others strategies so we can always help each other out. I reckon 75% of the worlds leagues are left alone and the other 25% are money making machines for us. If you identify and back goals as opposed to win, lose or draw you are at a big advantage in my opinion.

I agree that goals betting has many advantages over the WDW markets. Being an expert in goals betting takes time, though, a limited asset where I am concerned. For me the WDW markets have been succesful in turning profit, small as it is, and I am confident my strategy will see me turn bigger profits as my BR increases.

I will be feeding in any info or match facts in the Arsenal game I see from now until kick-off.
First up-
In this fixture in the last 2 seasons the score lines have been- 7-3 and 2-1. The H/T score in both games were 1-1.
Arsenal have conceded in their last 4 home league games, though saying that Newcastle haven’t scored in their last 3 away league games.
Giroud scored 2 in this fixture last season after coming off the bench in the last 15 minutes, he also scored in the reverse fixture this season. Podolski also scored in the 7-3 win last season. The thing about Arsenal is that they can score from all positions (you could easily name 5 or 6 players that have a good chance of scoring in this one.) I will play it safe though with Giroud who should be the furthest forward in the team and should see plenty of chances.
Giroud- 14 goals in 33 league games and 4 in his last 5 at home.
I have a feeling Arsenal will win this one but I think Newcastle will score at some point (probally through Remy) so we should see some goals.
From a personal point of view I will be cheering on Newcastle tonight. If they get a good result v Arsenal you can bet anything Everton will try twice as hard v Man city in their next game. Sorry all this from me a Liverpool fan and I’m always looking at the bigger picture. :)

Apologies if this game has been mentioned already but the Union Berlin v Kaiserslautern game looks to have potential for overs. Both teams rarely fail to score and Kaiserslautern have hit a bit of a purple patch the last few games in terms of total match goals as they push for promotion. O 2.5 at 4/6 and BTTS at 4/7 could be worth a dabble. Both bets would have won in 4 out of the last 5 matches for both teams. Again, sorry if somebody has already highlighted this one.

All the Norwegian games. Was a little late to the Rosneborg game so went over 2.5FHG whcih lost, despite 365 flashing a goal up right at the end. At HT went over 4.5 at evens so no loss incurred.
All the rest win and just 1 goal required in 2nd half of Arendal game. Only went for +1.5FHG in Stromsogodset game.

This looks like one of those games that Arsenal will be made to look like world beaters. Newcastle in my opinion seem a side who cant wait for the season to end, they have lost five in a row now and scored one goal during that time, they have also failed to score in five of their last six away games. Arsenal to win to nil must have a chance tonight, although that is not a market I enjoy betting on.
One market I do like is goal scorers, and it is a straight choice between Ramsey and Podolski for me. Again just my opinion Giroud looks out on his feet whenever I see him and Podolski seems to be getting in the middle at bit more in recent weeks and the goals have started to come. Podolski has scored braces in his last two games, and against a team who I think will be their for the taking tonight I rate Podolski anytime, but rather than the 11/8 at Stan James I will take the 13/8 anytime wincast has I cant see the Gunners not winning. I will also be on him to score 2+ 7/1 skybet.
As I have mentioned I fancy this could be a rout tonight, especially if Arsenal score early, they can relax will take Newcastle apart. Does anyone ever do the inplay markets from the overview on Bet365? I have just done 2 x 5 team Accies back to back all with teams leading by 2+ goals after less than 20 mins and getting odds of 1/3 to 1/7 at worst making combined odds of 2 or 3/1 and smashed it.
These bets are slightly dodgy and done with little of no research but I would imagine 80% of teams with a 2+ start would go on to win the game (unless playing Barca with 20 mins to go!) but I just won decent 3 figure sums on each.
Just wondered if anyone else has tried this and to what success rate?
