SOUTHERN trainer Chris Wall despatches a very rare runner to Hamilton in the shape of PENTLAND HILLS (5.10) and the top weight can land the concluding middle-distance handicap.

The son of 2005 Derby winner Motivator is on hat-trick following victories at Windsor and Yarmouth and is only 4lb higher. Course and distance winner Pammi ran a brave race in defeat at Ayr and her ability to handle deep ground is a definite plus.

PATTIE (4.10) will appreciate the drop in class having not disgraced herself in a Class 2 event at Ascot last time behind Simply Breathless. She has dropped a few pounds since running fourth to Godolphin’s Victory Wave at Newmarket at the end of July.

CALLIOPE (4.40) is pretty consistent in this lowly Class 6 grade and Ken Slack’s mare need only repeat her third to Bill Cody at Redcar to take a hand. Fourth horse So Near So Farh won at Pontefract last week and Calliope should have the measure of Traditional Dancer and Palindrome.
