SYNDICATE (2.05) bounced back to winning form in the mud at Ffos Las and top weight may not prevent an action replay at Ayr. The Irish raider, a previous Southwell scorer when trained by Ray Beckett, was always in command at the Welsh track and Ray Dawson’s 5lb claim virtually wipes out her penalty. Jim Goldie saddles two dangers in County Fair, a close second to previous winner Daawy over course and distance nine days ago, and the penalised Sarvi.
FALMOUTH LIGHT (3.10) is dropped to 6f following two excellent thirds to Explain and earlier Hajjam over seven furlongs. Iain Jardine’s gelding scored quite emphatically at Doncaster on soft ground earlier in the season.
BREAK THE SILENCE (3.40) struck form with a vengeance on soft ground at this time last year, winning at Redcar and Brighton. He blasts off in front, tactics used to good effect when scoring at Southwell in August, and may take a bit of catching under 5lb claimer Theodore Ladd. Redarna is penalised for her recent course and distance success and although 8lb worse off with Acadian Angel for a narrow success on a previous visit to Ayr, the top weight looks sure to go well.
ROARING FORTIES (4.10) is plummeting down the ratings and this is his easiest assignment for quite some time. Rebecca Bastiman’s gelding was an unlucky-in-running sixth to Twin Appeal at Beverley last month and David Allan is the right man on top.
REINFORCED (4.45) had almost a length to spare over Mischief Managed when scoring over course and distance in July and is 3lb better off against that rival today. Reinforced, a confirmed front-runner, goes well in the mud.
PAMMI (5.15) was a head behind Handsome Bob at the September meeting but is fancied to overturn places on 4lb better terms. The Goldie-trained filly has since run well in defeat at Hamilton.
