FIRLINFEU (5.00) is the sole bet on a quiet Tuesday, with Oliver Stammers able to claim his full 7lb allowance in the apprentices’ handicap at Pontefract.

Mark Johnston’s gelding led for a long way when third to Desert Path over 1m 3f at Windsor and this 1m 2f trip is in his favour. The handicapper has helped by dropping Firlinfeu 2lbs.

    Brighton 17:40
    Scenery 9/2 2pt win

Has finaly been droped in trip and grade. Is much beter than is current rating.
His last two race have obviously been warm ups.

Im hoping he is droped off the pace early while they go a strong gallop up front. And hes got all the ability to close on this lot.

Hibernian are a best price 80/1 to win the league and as low as 40/1

So much for me wanting 250/1

Save your money – don’t let your heart rule your head.
Pretty sure it will be a Celtic, Rangers 1-2 next season.

      • Johnb 2 months ago

You should know I never let my heart rule my head and I can’t have Rangers, poor signings by Gerrard and as people will see this season they will be worse, the whole team needed changing and they could never afford to do that
With a season under our belts Hibs will definitely finish above Rangers

        • Mr Fixit 2 months ago

You do sometimes when it comes to Hibs but I’ve done it with Clydebank.
I don’t see how Rangers can be worse – many of the signings we know nothing about but there are a couple of decent ones.
Gerrard will be the key – he’s been impressive so far but it doesn’t matter until the real action starts.

          • Johnb 2 months ago

The Hibs selections have been pretty much spot on because I am unbiased in my analysis, there have been many big priced winners that means a very healthy profit
As for Rangers new players we know as much as we need to know, they have played for other teams so we know their strengths and weaknesses, style of play and ability

  6. recoba 2 months ago

Rangers whole approach bar the Gerrard factor seems like last season to me and as for these signings Mr F?
Team has to gel too its been a big rip it up n start again job but as you say we shall see about hen the real action starts.

    • Mr Fixit 2 months ago

The jury’s out on Rangers, has to be until we see some games, but unlike Johnb I like the look of some of the signings.
Scott Arfield I’ve always rated. Katic and Goldson look decent and Sadiq and Coulibaly have potential to do well here.
But as I’ve said already it’s all down how Gerrard performs as manager. He is the key.

Don’t know how it works Ew but Bigpika but without Celtic would be the only market worth any £s.

With Jelena Ostapenko only one win away from an 11/1 winning bet there is an opportunity for people to cover on Dominika Cibulkova At 22/19
It may be Ostapenko’s weakest surface but the draw has opened up and is now nearly as easy as England’s route, Cibulkova should be a hard match and if I hadn’t backed Ostapenko then I would be tempted to back Cibulkova as a value bet, they should both be 5/6

    Tennis – Wimbledon

Kiki Bertens v Julia Georges 2:30pm
    JULIA GEORGES 1/1 ladbrokes

Not much value today but Julia Georges should be favourite against a player I like in Kiki Bertens but who doesn’t like grass too much even though she had made it this far

    11/1 WINNER

Nice 11/1 Antepost winner at Wimbledon with Jelena Ostapenko winning the 1st Quarter, what a performance with even Andrew Castle describing her performance as Magnificent
Semi-Final now and that 50/1 is looking good

Mr F when you started this new site from the old one we were asked to join and be members and were told we would get a dedicated racing thread and that is why people who liked their horse racing joined.Look at the thread and wonder why all the racing fans have nearly gone.

Not being awkward just asking for what we were promised. There is more golf tennis football everyday surely there are enough football and other sport threads.

I have returned to another racing site myself (where it is just racing folk). But will be honest the format on here is the best but surely this one thread should be racing only.

          • Mr Fixit 2 months ago

You have a racing thread and you have commented on it.
Most of the comments on other sports are from Johnb.
There is a tennis thread and there are golf tips every week.
If you don’t like a comment scroll by it.

Hi I regularly follow this group and thank you for all the great efforts. I have one query. I have placed match betting between 2 horses and both are not placed. Is the bet going to be void or lost?

    • spec0103 2 months ago

Any reply is much appreciated. I have contacted my bookie and he says it’s lost. But I can’t see any rule on that.

      • gym rat 2 months ago

Check the finishing order on the results page you just need the one you said would finish infront of the other diesnt matter if one is 13 and one is 14th as long as you picked right order. Hope this helps

        • spec0103 2 months ago

          Both are p/u

          • spec0103 2 months ago

John B/Alan, any information on this place? If both are unable to finish the race in match betting I feel it needs to be voided instead of lost. Any thoughts please?

            • gym rat 2 months ago

Your welcome for trying to help

              • spec0103 2 months ago

Please some one answer my question? My bookie says it’s lost. I can’t see any thing related to this in rules.

                • Johnb 2 months ago

I would say the bet has lost if both were pulled up but it will say in your bookies rules

                • spec0103 2 months ago

Thank you John for the reply. I see there is no logic in that when both are unplaced. It’s not fair to loose the bet.
