IT was never going to be easy for the non-seeds in the World Cup play-off draw and Northern Ireland face a tough task while the Republic of Ireland have a good chance of making it Russia.
Coral make the Republic 5-4 to qualify for the after they were paired against Denmark but Northern Ireland are 5-2 to make it through after being drawn against Switzerland who won their first nine qualifiers before being pushed into second by losing in Portugal.
With Coral you can get 7-1 on both Irish teams making it to Moscow.
In the first-leg match betting Republic of Ireland are 10-3 to win in Denmark while Northern Ireland can be backed at 11-5 to win in Belfast.
Coral spokesman John Hill said: “The betting suggests it is the best draw Republic of Ireland could have got as they would have been bigger to qualify against either of the other three seeded nations.
“Northern Ireland clearly have it all to do but their one saving grace is they avoided Italy who would have been much shorter to qualify at their expense.”
Italy face Sweden in the top while Croatia v Greece is a tough one to call.
