FOURTEEN became 10 on Day 8 of my 12 Plays of Christmas competition as we edge ever closer to finding our ‘Last Man Standing’ and dishing out a £500 Grand Prize from Skybet.
Due to a lack of fixtures Day 9 looks like it could be a tough one which could signal the end of a few more challenges. But before we get to that here’s a look at Day 8.
Day 8 Round-Up
Wins for Derby, Middlesbrough and Inter were necessary for nine members to proceed to Day 9 but it was @jpq’s bold call on the draw at QPR v Brighton which caught the eye.
Taking a draw at this stage is a risky strategy but he got it spot on as QPR stormed back from 2-0 down to grab a point. @jpq is the deserved winner of Day 8’s £40 free bet prize at Skybet. Admin will be in touch at the end of the competition with details.
It was ‘as you were’ for the four members with a perfect score so far as all of them maintained their 100% record. That means there’s a further six hanging on in there having already used their ‘Second Chance’ card.
Things are starting to get a bit tougher in the competition and there are no gimmes on Day 9 with the shortest priced team at 10/11.
Here are the 5 fixtures from which you must select ONE home win, away win or draw. Your entry must be in by kick-off in your team’s match and you must be a Silver or Gold Member to take part.
- 18:00 Nürnberg 7/4 Draw 2/1 Hertha Berlin 11/8 (German DFB Pokal)
- 19:30 TSV 1860 Munchen 13/8 Draw 2/1 VfL Bochum 6/4 (German DFB Pokal)
- 19:45 Hull 10/11 Draw 21/10 Reading 18/5
- 19:45 Whitehawk 19/10 Draw 12/5 Dagenham & Redbridge 7/5 (FA Cup)
- 20:00 Sporting Braga 11/5 Draw 2/1 Sporting CP 11/10 (Portuguese Cup)
Today’s Daily Prize is a tasty £50 free bet with Skybet to the person who records the biggest winner – if there is more than one a random draw will be made. This is only available to those still in the competition.
Please note that you can only play your Second Chance card ONCE. If you miss a day you are deemed to have picked a losing selection and are not entitled to play the next day unless you still have your Second Chance card to play.
