What’s your club’s team news?

ONE feature I’m keen to develop on the new site is us all helping each other with our local team news.

I know we all like to look at form, head to heads and other statistics but often a bit of local knowledge and accurate team news can go a long way. For the past few weeks @admin have been sourcing team news for leagues in England and Scotland posting them in the Forums.

It’s great to have all this info in one place, viewable per league on a single page. It would be even better if you could ALL get involved and post up the latest team news in relation to your favourite team(s). Often fans have a much better insight and are closer to the news than some of the reports you can pick up online so if you’ve got any news on injuries, suspensions or just something relevant to a match, like a bogey team, a former player returning or whatever then get involved in the Forums.

@admin have posted team news and/or odds for the Premier League, Championship, FA Cup, SPFL Premiership, Scottish Lower Leagues and the Scottish Cup this weekend.

But it doesn’t stop there if you’ve some info on the Conference in England or the Junior in Scotland you can also start you own thread, likewise if you’ve anything worth sharing in any the European leagues this weekend have a go at starting a thread in the Worldwide Football Forum.

Get involved and let’s bash the bookies this weekend.

    *One I actually fancy on Saturday, and it’s not very often I feel confident about Sunderland, is Sunderland +2 away at Arsenal. You can get it at a best price of 23/20 @ Coral.

    We’ve improved immeasurably in defence since Allerdyce took over, as you would expect. There was one anomaly of a game when we conceded 6 at Everton, however we were playing the 5 at the back for the first time and were forced to play Billy Jones and Wes Brown as 2 of the 3 CB’s which was always a recipe for disaster. In the 5 other games we have only conceded 2 goals and kept 3 clean sheets. We have settled into the 5 at the back formation now and the players actually look to be playing for one another. Also, we do carry a threat on the counter attack, mainly in the second half when things are tight and we look to bring on Lens and Watmore for a bit of pace on the counter.

    Arsenal are on the back of 3 poor results in the league. Draws at home to Spurs and away to Norwich sandwich a disappointing away loss to West Brom. To be honest this does slightly put me off as they’ll see this game as a good chance to bounce back and are they really going to have 4 bad league games in a row? Regardless, they do look to be struggling to break teams down and we are proving a tough team to break down under Big Sam so far. Also, will Arsenal’s big game in the Champions league mid week play a part in team selection or be on the mind?

    Of course there is the chance we could conceded one and implode but the longer the game stays 0-0 the better it is for us.

    Another stat which supports this bet is that it would have came in 4 of the previous 5 seasons. Our last 5 trips to the Emirates have yielded 3 0-0 draws, a 2-1 defeat and a 4-1 defeat.

    I’m personally going to go on the double chance and even have a little stake on us stealing a win, but I feel the best value is in the +2 market.*

    Got to say I’m not as confident as I was. Cattermole apparently picked up an injury in training today which will rule him out. With Larsson already injured, we are struggling in midfield and I don’t think we’ll be able to provide anywhere near as effective a shield for the back 5 with Gomez and Toivonen in there. I still believe we may be able to steal a result and would probably avoid taking Arsenal on a big accumulator at the price they are.

    I’m a steward at Norwich City so sometimes speak with the players & Alex Neil etc.
    Obviously don’t bet big because local knowledge is usually speculative with things people have heard.

    One thing for sure is that the board at Norwich at all costs want to stay in the league as for a small club, it makes us a lot of money.
    Alex Neil has been wanting to play attacking football, but board have told him to play defensive to stay in the league.
    We had a good result against the Arsenal last week – first half we were very poor and should have been 2 or 3 down. Second half when we actually attacked, looked excellent and should have won comfortably.
    We usually put in a performance against the top teams but squander against the teams where we should be getting points. I expect AN to start defensive today & wouldn’t be surprised to go 1 or 2 down with the class of Ighalo – we do tend to steal at least a goal away though so for today I think a decent bet would be
    Both teams to score 4/6
    Odds reflect the reasoning but seems a good bet.

    Feyenoord Rotterdam – Heracles Almelo

    It is going well with my team. Losing only twice this year, against PSV and ADO away. They haven’t been beaten this year when playing in De Kuip and I don’t see them losing tomorrow.

    The only doubt right now is Sven Van Beek. The central defender had to leave training yesterday. Van Bronckhorst, coach, isn’t bothered by it though. He thinks Van Beek will be fit to play tomorrow.

    Feyenoord has scored a total of 12 goals in their last 5 at home, only conceding two.

    It’s hard to find any value for the game, but if you’re looking at this game I would advice the following:
    – Feyenoord -1 @ 5.6
    – Elia to score 17/10

    Heracles played well at the start of the season but havent won their last three matches and I can’t see them win away at Feyenoord. They can be pretty dangerous though and have some good players walking around in Tannane en Bel Hassani. They only miss defender Tim Breukers.

    If Van Beek doesn’t play tomorrow I see them have a chance of scoring a goal. The replacement of Van Beek isn’t suited for this level.

    – Both teams to score @ 4/6
    – Tannane (Heracles) to score @ 13/5

    @ Mr Fixit – a match from my country –
    CSMS Iasi – Astra Giurgiu 16:00
    CSMS Iasi :
    – in the last rond Iasi drew away at Dinamo;
    – the team coached by Nicolo Napoli is ranked 8 with 27 points and -5 goals difference;
    – he will not be based on Frasinescu , badic and Ganea all injured;
    – Iasi are unbeaten in the last 6 matches and in the last 4 they keeped clean sheet;
    – we saw only 7 /20 with over 2 goals in Iasi matches;
    Nicolo Napoli ” Astra is a very good team.We know that a game is unlike any other,but we want to do another good match on Sunday to maintain our good game. It will be hard , but we’ll try to beat the leader.”
    Astra Giurgiu :
    – in the last game they only get a draw on home soil 1-1 with voluntari;
    – despite this draw they remain leader with 41 points and +10 goals difference;
    – only problem for coach Marius Sumudica is Lovin which is injured;
    – the same as Iasi , Astra haven’t lost none in the last 6 games , last defeat came from ASA Tg. Mures 3-1 away;
    – Astra get more points away than home turf;
    Marius Sumudica ” We not look well. Only goog thing is that we scored every game. If we’ll have the same mentality , we will fall from up there. We show that a team with chances to win the title? We are some awkward ”
    Possible Teams :
    – Grahovac ; Voicu , Mihalache , Ciuca , Tiganasu ; Mitic , Cretu ; Onduku , Grigorie , Bole ; Golubovic (4-2-3-1)
    – Lung ; Queiros , Alves , Gaman , Morais ; Boubacar , Boldrin ; Enache , Budescu , De Amorim ; Alibec (4-2-3-1)
    Astra has a very heavy away travel, against a team which is growing form. Iasi managed to keep a clea sheet in last 4 matches although they played against teams like – Dinamo , Pandurii or CFR.
    Iasi – 7/10 home matches came to draw at Half Time (3 W , 7 D , 0 L)
    Astra get 3 draw from last 5 matches at Half Time
    Iasi is a team with defending mentality, and i belive it will be difficult to Astra to score in match (maybe 1)
    BET – CSMS Iasi – Astra Giurgiu
