THE first two ties have been fascinating with David Smith and Mark Talbot winning even before the weekend football.

Next up it’s Chris Guy, Alexandria v Cammy McDonald, Livingston and site regulars will be keen to see how top seed Chris plays it knowing how he likes big first-scorer bets.

In fact Chris hasn’t let us down and he’s waded right in there, staking half his pot on four bets in tonight’s Man United v Reading FA Cup tie. He needs a goal in the first 15 minutes and 30 minutes and also backed scorers in Javier Hernandez (ew) and Tom Cleverley (anytime).

I’m not putting my Man Utd bets on until I see the teams, just in case Fergie sneaks in a Robin van Persie or Wayne Rooney although it’s unlikely, but already this game’s exciting.

Cammy’s first bet is an over 2.5 goals fourfold on tonight’s Dutch Juliper league games. His £50 bet pays £256.67.

So good luck to Chris and Cammy and I’ll update this piece later with any bets Cammy has posted.

I’d remind players to post bets each day under the new thread that will be created after midnight. Stakes and Ladbrokes price must be included and if possible potential winnings. Also number your bets if you can as it makes it easier to keep rack of them.

We need full names for this contest so anyone whose full name isn’t listed below could you please send it as a comment.

I posted up the rules previously but just to make sure everything is in order and easy to follow I’ve re-capped them below again.

  • All players will start their games with a mythical £1,000 betting fund and you can stake from £50 to £1,000 on any football bet provided Ladbrokes have priced it up.
  • Stakes have to be quoted as do all prices and they have to be Ladbrokes‘ odds. If you’re backing an accumulator please provide the individual odds as well the combined odds. Perms are not allowed. In-running bets are not allowed. And bets must only be on football.
  • You can bet on any football market provided by Ladbrokes but winnings won’t be allocated if no price is quoted. All tips must be posted before the start of the relevant event, for example by 2.59pm for a 3pm kick-off.
  • Each person must over the course of the week-long contest must place a minimum of 20 bets so the £1,000 stake is utilised. This is to prevent a contestant sitting on his pot. Minimum take £50.
  • Single or accumulated odds must be 1-4 or above.
  • You cannot copy exactly the same bet as your opponent. You can however include the same bet in an accumulator that includes at least one different selection. A bet can’t be cancelled once it’s posted unless part or all of the bet is a non-runner, for example a first-scorer pick doesn’t start or one game in an acumulator is postponed.
  • The winner will be the person who has accumulated most winnings, including stakes, by the deadline for the tie. But if one of the players loses his £1000 pot before the deadline his opponent will be declared the winner. Winnings can be staked so if your pot increases above £1,000 you have that money to play with. Stakes will be included in winning bets.
  • In the unlikely event of a draw in any of the tipping head to heads there will be a tiebreak contest to decide the winner.
  • All bets must have been settled by the close of the competition, i.e. by 23:59 on the Sunday evening otherwise the bet will be declared void.
  • In the event of any disputes Mr Fixit’s decision will be declare void.

Although there are prizes up for grabs please remember this is also a bit of fun.

Chris, even if you lose the £500 there’s plenty of time to make it up as Chris showed last week before losing it all again. I’ll be on Hernandez a long as he starts. He should do so but I want to see teams before putting mine on.

Home it is then James !!!

  9. Badham 5 years ago

A little hint for the competitors. There’s a big list of Dutch second division games tonight… Goals Goals Goals …

  10. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Paul I know that he may not start but wanted to back him before Cammy does. Hence the reason I don’t each way. If he doesn’t start, full £200 stake back anyway. Clever cookie me.

  11. Cammy MacDonald 5 years ago

    All the best Chris.

Badham, your right. The Dutch leagues (especially Juliper) are usually brilliant for goals.

Cambuur Leeuwarden v FC Eindhoven Over 2.5 Goals 2/5
Helmond Sport v De Graafschap Over 2.5 Goals 4/7

No cancying muxh..shoved a double on Dannys Bnei 7/2 in running and doubled with Siena/Lzio draw 21/10…16.81 (to even things up in acc) :-)

  16. Dave Black 5 years ago

Half time in all Cammy’s shouts. 2 are over 2.5 goals already. Third one is 1-1 and the last is 1-0 so not looking too bad just now.

  17. Knottsy 5 years ago

Not a fan of chris’s betting style but should make interesting watching. This tie could be won or lost in first few days.

  18. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Bet 5) £100 ew on Charlie Mulgrew First Goal 14/1 @ Ladbrokes. If he scores first returns £2066.67 or of he gets a place returns £566.67.

    Bet 6) £50 Wanyama First Goal 9/1 @ Ladbrokes. Bet returns £500.

  19. John 5 years ago

Very surprised to see Mulgrew at only 4/1 anytime scorer and Wanyama at 6/1 both with Paddy power, unless they’ve made a mistake

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

John, Paddy quite often price up Wanyama big but he hasn’t scored for a while. And at the end of the day Mulgrew’s a defender, sometimes midfielder, but a player who can get a goal from a set-piece.

  20. John 5 years ago

Think i may have a look at either Ambrose or Commons, the sunday mail had a piece about them and Commons is in good form

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

John, Ambrose missed a sitter against Juve then scored against Dundee Utd at the weekend so is getting into positions. Commons been banging them in recently and of course is now on penalties. Fit-again Stokes one to watch out for too after his double against United.

  21. John 5 years ago

Anytime double tomorrow night, Martinez and Ambrose
